SAP, VBScript, import data to solution manager

Hi,
I'm trying to import to Solution Manager a testset-structure (from Excel, but Excel is no problem)
I could not find out, how to allocate in SOLAR01/02 a folder structure, testpackages and last but not least testcases, I did not even succeed to explore the existing GuiTrees,
somebody has experience, eventually examples?

Now i am able to send the session data. As you have mentioned i have created a new sevice session in DSWP and run refresh session and that has created the job sap earlywatch alert for solution manager.
But I am facing an error when generating the report. The background job is getting cancelled.

We are currently downloading the Enhancement Package 4 in SOLMAN via Maintenance Optimizer, however, after choosing the Technical Usages in step 2.1, it shows an error in step 2.2 (Select OS/DB Dependent Files):

Extract from this guide for this problem:
Make sure that you update the product data in SAP Solution Manager. This is described in SAP Note 1277035 which is referenced from the collective SAP Note 1122966. If you do not update the product data, you might get an error message after the stack calculation. The message text explains the problem in more detail.

How to Import Roadmaps into Solution Manager V7.0 EHP1.0

Hi All,
The latest ASAP implementation roadmap is currently;
ASAP Implementation V3.9 January 2009
However, when I go into our install SolMan (V7.0 EHP1.0 SP 19) the latest version I can see is ;
ASAP Implementation V3.8 January 2008.
My admin has informed me we are fully patched with all service packs applied and EHP applied.
How do I:
a.) Get a "install file" for the V3.9 roadmap?
b.) "Import" the Roadmap V3.9 into Solman?

Thanks for your reply. I have already been able to do this. The document you provided shows how to download the HTML version of the Roadmap and install to a local or network physical drive. I am after how to get the Roadmap I have mentioned into SAP Solution Manager so that I can select and use it on my projects.

Problem import data blackberry dekstop manager from 8900 to Z30

Hi,
My old bb is model 8900.
I have update bb dekstop manager 7 & try to switch data from bb 8900 to Z30 but it failed.
Then I try to downgrade version dekstop manager but it also fail to import data to my new bb.
The dekstop manager cannot connected with my bb & hang..

Extract data from Solution Manager database

Hi,
I am investigating the possibility of using SQL to extract alert data
from the Oracle database directly.
I have looked in the database to find the tables which would provide
such information, and I have found some promising tables.
But I need to understand how the data is stored in the Solution Manager
system, I see that once the solution manager application is started it
pulls the data from the CCMS alerts on the remote systems. But that
data needs to be stored somewhere. Can you tell me if it is buffered in
an internal table or a structure.
Is it possible to use the SAP tables to produce such a report, or which
BAPI's can I use to extract the data.

If you want to interact with the Alerting data, you should use the XAL External Interface for Alert Management.

Error while trying to export data from Solution Manager 3.1

Hello, when trying to export a project via SOLAR_MIGRATION in Solution Manager 3.1, I get the following error when trying to release the transport:
COMMUNICATION_FAILURE for RFC call SCMS_CONT_EXPORT (destination SAPKPROTP): / RfcExecProg: SAP0451.
Error in calling KPro transport server
Has anyone experienced this or have an idea how to reslove it? I opened a message through OSS and received this feedback:
sapkprotp is not available for AS/400.
In your case, sapkprotp must be started on the SAP Content Server.
sapkprotp must then be started via a SAP Gateway connection.
Please change the RFC destination of SAPKPROTP so that
the program must be started on your SAP Gateway on the content server
computer.
We currently don't have a Content Server and I would like to be able to export this project without having to install a new application on a Windows server. I would appreciate any insight you may have into this. Thank you.

If you don't have one already create a gateway instance on your Content Server.
Change or create the RFC destination : SAPKPROTP type = T
Check the radio button to start on Expicit Host
Enter the program = c:\winnt\sapkprotp.exe
Enter target host - use the hostname of the server for your Content Server
Enter the Gateway information

SAP Best Practice Integrated with Solution manager

We have a server in which we installed SAP Best practice baseline package and we have the solution manager 7.01 SP 25
We maintained the logical port but when we try to check connectivity to solution manager we got the following error:

Can anyone guide us how to solve the problem and also if there is another way to upload the solution defined on the best practice solution builder into sap solution manager as a template project

Managed System configuration for SAP NW Java system in Solution Manager 7.1 SP10

I am doing Managed system configuration for my SAP NW 7.01 Java system and getting below error in step 6 create users SAPSUPPORT & SM_COLL_SID.
"An unexpected error occured. An error occured while processing the UME command READ_USER from agent <hostname> : Server returned: 302 Found "
I have checked my DAA as well as host agents are up and running fine. My Solution Manager is 7.1SP10.

Error importing SP in Solution Manager System (phase XPRA_EXECUTION)

I have a fresh installation of Solution Manager System 7.1 (central system) in a test environment.
During post-installation I wanted to apply SP (user DDIC, client 000), but my update queue via SPAM failed in phase 23 (XPRA_EXECUTION) and I have no idea how to handle that. Error message:
- Error in phase: XPRA_EXECUTION
- Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE
- Return code: 0008

To check the cause of the error it is recommended to choose Goto -> Log -> Queue.

- retry importing
- stop and start the system, then retry importing
- check for background jobs (rdd* ) that failed via transaction SM37, but there are none that have been canceled
- reset buffers via transaction /$sync

it seems we are making progress at last.
I'm afraid I didn't make my suggestion about splitting items very clear. I meant to say try applying your SPAM queue in several parts splitting up the packages affected so they are applied individually.

I think default behaviour for SPAM/SAINT is to calculate the entire queue automatically based on EPSIN but you can override this behaviour and choose to split your queue into shorter ones, you simply choose carefully the last package, apply this queue, then choose the next queue and so on until you are done. There used to be special notes which had recommended split points for package queues
EDIT: I checked your link and I don't think it is helpful unfortunately.

Reg MDM - BP "Consolidating Master Data" in Solution Manager

Hi,
In solution manager there are standard Business Process (BP) and Business Process Steps (BPS) defined for each BP under any functional area. Similarly when we look at the standard BP for MDM we have "Consolidating Master Data" as one of the BP. Under that we have a two BPS called 1. "Change or enrich records " - I understand that this BPS is referring adding or changing some field values in data manager. The second BPS is "Use external data quality services to cleanse and enrich data". - I understand this step should be the Validation rules that we run. Is my understanding correct? because the 2nd BPS say "external data quality service" - this is where am bit confused.

Validations belon to "Change or enrich records". "Use external data quality services to cleanse and enrich data" means that you can connect MDM to other third party services (e.g. for address data cleansing) using MDM's enrichment controller.

After installing Appl. Server, there are no EWA Data in Solution Manager

Hello,
my satelite system send the ewa to the solution manager. After installing a second appl. server for the satelite system, there are no data show in the ewa on the solution manager.
In the logfile from the sdccn on the satelite system, you could see that the data was send.
Transfer of session data completed to destination...
On the satelite system i can see, that the ewa contain some data. But in the solution manager the ewa is empty...
Any suggestions ??

sorry for late. I delete the service definiton on both side (solman and satelite system). I rescheduled the tasks and the data was send successfully.

Error when I import data to Strategy Management from BW

I'm working with Strategy Management 7.5 and I have some problems when I update the data and some changes in de schema. For example, I have one KPI that had data since January to September, but this data disappeared when I did the actualization of the data and Schema. I don't know what happened. Some idea?

IMPORT_PROPER error while importing patch in Solution Manager 3.2

I have a problem while importing Patch component ST and patch name SAPKITL319 in the middle of the installing patch it shows an error IMPORT_PROPER error and an red light and a message (Error stop). Please help me to sort the problem.

sorry, I am not able to support you in finding the cause for the connection problem.
Anyway, my recommendation:
- Delete the SolMan 3.2 installation
- Install Solman 4.0
- Apply all Support Packages
- perform the configuration on 4.0 according the IMG
Configuring SolMan 3.2 is wasted time, if it has not been used in the past. SolMan 4.0 supports implementation / upgrade from/to SAP ERP 2004.
An upgrade in the future costs much more time and money, then to reinstall 4.0 now.
Deleting SolMan 3.2 and reinstall SolMan 4.0, this will only 2 extra days. Upgrade takes about 4-10 days.
