SAP Web AS Connection Problem

Hi Gurus,
I am now facing one problem about creating a system in EP.
My system is Netweaver 04s with AS,EP and BI with SP13. All run in one single server.
I maintained the SAP Web AS, and tested the connection, got the following message:
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Checks the validity of system ID in the system object.
2. Checks if the system can be retrieved from the PCD.
3. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name
5. Checks if the host name of the server can be resolved.
6. Pings the server to see if it is alive.
7. Pings the WAS ping service; works only if the service is activated on the ABAP WAS.
8. Checks HTTP/S connectivity to the defined back-end application
  Results
1. The system ID is valid
2. The system was retrieved.
3. The system object represents an SAP system
4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (192.168.2.62:50000)
5. The host name 192.168.2.62 was resolved successfully.
6. The server 192.168.2.62 could not be pinged successfully.
Strange that the ping fails, cause all the instances are running in the same server.
"Connection Test for Connectors" works fine for me by using SSO from portal to abap.
Please give the solution.
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
You mean to say you are using IP address to login to portal. Using IP address has caused many problems. I am not sure if this would solve your issue but it is always recommended to use fully qualified domain name as host while accesssing portal. You can check using that too.

    8. An HTTP/S connection to http://saperp.domain.com:8000sap/bc/bsp/sap was not obtained successfully; this might be due to a closed port on the Firewall.
Test Connection with Connector works fine.
    Checks:

-Service test of "http://saperp.domain.com:8000/sap/bc/ping" with browser works fine. ("Server reached successfully")

    Hi,
Don't worry : these test results are meaningless. You should test a real BSP application and see if it works.

  • System Configuration - SAP Web AS Connection - connection tests error

    hi
I have a SAP ECC 6.04 and sap portal 7.01
When I entered in option System Administration / System Configuration / System Landscape / Portal Content Tree / Systems / SAP_ECC (System created by me)
I founded the following error (in  SAP Web AS Connection / Tests the connection to an SAP Web Application Server  )

    SAP Web AS Connection
    4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (semdev.suzlon.com:8000)
    5. The host name semdev.suzlon.com was resolved successfully.
    6. <b>The server semdev.suzlon.com could not be pinged successfully.</b>
What culd be the pblm ?

    Hi PK,
in R/3 go to SE37 and check the FM RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET it will show the details for WAS, I believe the details you gave for WAS are fine.
Now for the issue go to T.Code SICF navigate to the webas path and activate the ping service. This will resolve the issue.
    Hope This helps.
    Cheers-

  • SAP - Web Logic Connectivity & Communication

I have been in SAP-ABAP for quite some time, all I know is ABAP & lil bit of Java
I have a requirement that needs immediate attention
In Layman terms can some one explain me
    1. What is required inroder to set up connectivity between SAP ECC 6.0 to Web Logic 8.1 SP 4
    2. What should I do to communicate with Weblogic to share data synchronously.
A brief description & detail info related links would be of great help.
    Surely I'll leave feedback

    Hello Vinod,
In order to set up connectivity between SAP ECC 6.0 to Web Logic 8.1 SP 4, you can use Iway 5.5 connector.
In Iway you can set up some communication channels. Each channel contains a Program ID (which refers to your RFC's ProgID) and the connection parameters to your SAP environment. By starting your channel in Iway, you check it in your SAP repository and the connection is established.
Let me know if you have other questions.
    Micael.

  • HP 8500 A Web Service connection problem

    Hi All,
I hope someone can help me please I have just bought my HP 8500A. I try to setup the web server it says I have to do an update, its starts downloading then half way through it crashes. I have tried a few things like update the firmware on my router to the latest, I have a Billion 3G/ADSL 2 router, Still no luck. I have tried the switching off and on thing. That never worked and I have also tried changing the IPV4 settings to Manual IP Address and DNS to manual and still no luck. I am a home user so there is no "Firewall, well there is windows but i tried switching that off as well" . I can print fine and all that and my devices pick up the printer fine. Ok so my setup is so, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit running with the Billion wireless Router. the HP printer is wireless setup and not connected to the computer via the USB printer cable.
    Please advise soonest.
    Thanks very much

    Hello MyStang,
Is it a new printer or refurbished printer which you have purchased. Check the sticker at the back of the printer. From the printer menu Setup ==> Print Reports ==> select Print Status Report. Once this report is printed, check the model number and product name. What does it say?

  • MSS SAP R/3 Connection Problems

    Hi,
I've just installed EP6 SP2 and imported the MSS 6.1.2 business package. However all the My Staff delivered iviews give a similar error when trying to connect to R/3.
The My Staff iviews use a logical system name SAP_R3_HumanResources. I've configured this and tested it using my own iviews using SAP Transactions and it connects to the backend system fine.
The error and log file are below. Please help.
Do I need to do any extra configuration from the portal side of things other than the logical system I've already created?

We just went through this with 6.1.2... Here is my recommendation:
    1. No need for systems.xml & jcodestinations.xml. This is all handled through the system definition now (specifically the connector section if I recall correctly)
    2. Don't use 6.1.2. We had no luck getting it to work, and heard other issues like this. We went with 6.1.3 (and the service pack). Here is the catch: we loaded 6.1.3 on top of 6.1.2 and 6.1.3 didn't work either. Went to a different machine that never had 6.1.2, loaded 6.1.3, and it worked fine. Went back and reimported it on the 6.1.2 machine again, and it worked! The log files showed the exact same results both time. Go figure... Spent lots of time trying to resolve it and ended up just reimporting it. Also, make sure you check your deployment overview to ensure that all archives were deployed.
    Good luck...

  • Web Service connect problem, Please Help!!!

I developed a web service end point following the pattern of adventure as Purchase Order End Point Bean,
WSDL is correctly generated for both Server anc Client End:

Could anyone help and point to me a right direction, I have been hunting the problem for days and couldnt find a clue.
    Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi, I finally solved this problem, the JDNI entry value is not configured properly for the session bean that's built for the service end point.
Changed JNDI value, and use that value in the service locator to look up the session bean home, it worked.

  • Web service connection problem via web service data control (SOAP/REST)

    Hi
I developed a simple "hello word" web service that I deployed on Integrated WLS.
Web service works fine - I tested it from SoapUI.
I created another application to call "hello word" using  "web service data control (SOAP/REST)" in JDeveloper.
When I test it via "Oracle ADF Model Tester" application works as I'm expecting, but when I create JSPX page,
drag and drop webservice method as ADF parameter form and run it receive notification (screenshot):
"WSM-07620 : Agent cannot enforce policies due to either failure in retrieving polices or error in validations, detail= "WSM-02557 The documents required to configure the Oracle Web Services Manager runtime have not been retrieved from the Policy Manager application (wsm-pm), possibly because the application is not running or has not been deployed in the environment. The query "&(@appliesTo~="WS-CONNECTION()")(policysets:global/%)" is queued for later retrieval. "."
    What I'm doing wrong?
Why I'm able to access web service from any other application but not from jdeveloper?
    Regards

    Hi,
I am not sure which JDev you are using, but looks like you have some policies setup for WSDC using GPA (global policy attachment) and your policy manager(wsm-pm) is not running. Can you check if the wsm-pm application is properly deployed in your Integrated WLS. You can see this from the list of deployed apps in WLS console.

  • Problem while creating SAP Web Dynpro iView

    Hi,
I am creating SAP Web Dynpro iView from iView Template.
The SAP Web Dynpro System Object is being created. The System Alias is also being created.
The Test Connection is successful with Portal Server.
Now, while creating SAP Web Dynpro iView from Template in Step 4:
I am not getting my System while an old system which is being deleted is being displayed.
Name of my System Object is: WD_System and System alias is: WD_Alias.
    The Step name is:
    Step 4:  Application Parameter
Enter the paramater(s) of the application for which you want to create the iView

    Hi Bala,
I am not getting the System Alias under:
User Administration-> User Mapping-> Logon Data(Select a Principal) (System Alias).
The System is successfully built under System Amininstration->System Configuration->System Landscape->Portal Content->kaushikb named WD_System and System Alias is named as: WebDynpro_alias.
    The Test Connection is successful.
I am displaying the result below:
    SAP Web AS Connection
      Test Details:
    The test performs the following:
    1. Checks the validity of the system ID in the system object.
    2. Checks if the system can be retrieved from the PCD.
    3. Checks if a SAP system is defined in the system object
    4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (kolapon:50000)
    5. The host name kolapon was resolved successfully.
    6. The server kolapon was pinged successfully.
    7. The WAS ping service http://kolapon:50000/sap/bc/ping was not pinged successfully. If the ping service is not activated on the WAS, you can try to call the ping service manually.
    8. An HTTP/S connection to http://kolapon:50000 was obtained successfully.

  • WEB AS connection failed

    Hi,
i have logon method in User management as SAPLOGON (since we have same userids in Portal as well as in BW systems) and issued the necessary parameters for WEB AS connection as :
    WAS Description BW Development
    WAS Host Name IP address:8000
    WAS Path /sap/bw/bex
    WAS Protocol http
Also gave the all necessary values in connector property.
Now if i go to Display - > Connection Test and select the following :
    SAP Web AS Connection
    Connection Test for Connectors
it is giving the following result:
    Results
SAP Web AS Connection - Jan 1, 1970 7:27:40 PM
    Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Check that the system object defines an SAP system
    2. Validate the following parameters: wap.WAS.protocol; wap.WAS.hostname
    3. Check the HTTP/S connection to the defined backend application
    Results
    1. The system object represents an SAP system.
    2. The following parameters are valid: wap.WAS.protocol (http) ; wap.WAS.hostname (ip address:8000)
    3. HTTP/S connection failed. Make sure the protocol, host name, and user mapping are correctly defined.
Test Connection with Connector - Jan 1, 1970 7:27:40 PM
    Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
    Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
    Connection successful
Even though we dont want to do user mapping (we have similar userids in both ends as mentioned early), i went ahead and did that also, but still WEB AS is failing with above mentioned error.
Is there any specific patch level need to be there for BASIS or J2EE etc... we have BW 3.5(web as 640- ABAP System), EP 6.0 Patch 9.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
I have had this problem before . Even though you still got a failure while the connection test , actually whrn you use the system object it works .Pls chaeck all the your parameter are right before you use this object .
    Thanks

  • Content Server connection problems

    SAP Content Server connection problems
I have installed the SAP Content Server on a Windows 2003 server. I connected to the Max DB on the remote server from Database Manager on my PC. I created repositories in R/3 in OAC0 and CSADMIN and saved documents to the Content Server. This all took a few hours from O/S install to saving a document in the repository, so I do understand the basics of the Content Server and Max DB.
Unfortunately we are not going to use Windows; we will be running this on UNIX. Therefore I'm trying it out on a Linux system while I wait for the AIX system to be available. It's been a long road but I have finally gotten the install to finish 'successfully' however I can't connect from R/3.
When I run the check http://10.XXX.YYY.ZZZ:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo from the browser on the Linux host I get back a good status as shown below:
    serverType="SAP HTTP Content Server";serverVendorId="SAP AG";serverVersion="640";serverPatch="0";serverBuild="16";pVersion="0046";serverStatus="running";serverDate="2008-03-25";serverTime="22:39:45";startUpDate="2008-03-25";startUpTime="22:32:21";lastAccessDate="2008-03-25";lastAccessTime="22:38:33";
However when I do this from any my PC it won't connect. (Of course the real problem is I can't connect from R/3.)
If I try the same URL from a different user session on the same Content Server Linux host I get the same good status.
I thought maybe the httpd.conf file was wrong so I tried:
    Listen 0.0.0.0:1090
In cs.conf I tried commenting out AdminSecurity & AdminSecurityGroup.
I also changed StorageDriver from SAPDBStorage to FSStorage.
I don't know if this is related or just another problem to tackle once I can get through this one. I was not able to add the new system to the Database Manager. I get the error "-4 could not connect to socket [10060]".
Thanks to all for any help. Points will dutifully be rewarded.
    David

    Hi Henk,
It looks like I am dumber than a rock. The firewall was indeed active on the Linux host. I turned it off and can now do the http connection test to the Content Server. (I awarded very helpful points.)
I still can't connect to the database with the Database Manager however the message has changed; it now says "-4 XSERVER might be inactive". I just turned off the firewall so I have a few things to try, like figure out how to start MaxDB without the DB Manager. I'll post my progress. Thanks Henk.

Now I have installed the Database Studion on my PC. No I'm getting this message when I try to connect to the host/database on the Linux system: "Cannot connect to host 10.XXX.XXX.XXX:7210 [Connection refused: connect], -813."
Does MaxDB need to be started to connect? Any idea how to start it manually? Thanks,
    David
Edited by: Dave Hill on Mar 28, 2008 1:06 AM
Ah, at long last. There's this tiny yet very important little program called x_server that SAP didn't include in the SAP Content Server install guide. This needs to be running in order for anything to connect. I'm sure most of you know about it but for the rest you can find it in:
    /sapdb/programs/bin
    Then type
    ./x_server start
I'm not sure what user it should run under but I started it as the sdb user.
You could automate the database startup with a script. See http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_7/e9/005dac1592496783e26133eb7fad0b/frameset.htm
Thank you Henk, I'll call this problem solved and award points.

  • Communication problem between external web server and SAP WebAS

    Hello Experts,
We are having a serious problem over here where we had one external server is pushing XML string using a HTTP-POST request to our SAP WebAS server (a BSP application is handling this request). We are not able to see the request coming to SAP i.e. SAP-BSP is not receiving XML.
Also we found that, if request is routed through another proxy server (apache tomcat server redireting the request) connected through VPN to our network, it works but if the the same server is inside our network it doesn't. Rather in that case it never hits the Apache-Tomcat server itself.
We tried to identify the network issue but it seems it is not the network or any firewall issue. When we had a small Echo server (itu2019s a small Java server) running on our SAP machine, we could see the request coming in. So it is definitely reaching the SAP server but the SAP Web AS is not picking up. Rather what we found that if the URL is simple e.g. http://<hostname>:<port> it works but if the URL is complex like something generated by SAP incase of BSP application it doesn't.
Any idea what is causing this issue?
I tried to look at SMICM trace files but got nothing. Any idea where would find the trace of incoming HTTP requests to SAP WebAS?
    Thanks in advance.
