SAP Web AS for CE 7.1

Hi all,
I have installed SAP Netweaver Development Studio CE 7.1. Now, can I install SAP Web AS in my system? If yes where can I find the software? What version should I install?
Are there any servers where I can connect from CE 7.1 and work?
Regards,
lohit

Hi Lohit,
The CE server name should be the hostname of the server the Composition Environment is running on. So, if the CE is installed on a server called "yaddayadda", the URL should be <a href>http://yaddayadda.yourdomain.com:50000</a>.
But do I see it correctly that you only have installed the Developer Studio? In that case you don't have a Composition Environment installed. The Developer Studio needs a running CE to connect and deploy to.
If I'm mistaken, then be sure to use as CE server name the fully qualified domain name of the server the CE is running on, not the machine you run Developer Studio on (unless they are the same...).
I hope this helps,
Henk.

i want to configuration  SAP web dispatcher for two hosts
web dispatcher has installed on saprate host( host are accessible via public ally) and other host contains two ABAP system are in same host.
i have configure two HTTP ports in the Web Dispatcher profile
    icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP, PORT=8888
    icm/server_port_1 = PROT=HTTP, PORT=7777
In addition, you define the system assignments, as follows:
    wdisp/system_0 = SID=ERP, MSHOST=ms_erp, MSPORT=8082, SRCSRV=*:8888
    wdisp/system_1 = SID=CE1, MSHOST=ms_erp, MSPORT=8127, SRCSRV=*:7777

  • SAP Web Dispatcher for Portal reverse proxy

    Hi Experts,
I am on EP6.0 SP20 and trying to use SAP web dispatcher as reverse proxy.
I followed the below web log to configure the web dispatcher.
[How to...Configure SAP Webdispatcher as a reverse proxy|How to...Configure SAP Webdispatcher as a reverse proxy]
I still have some problems logging into the Portal through the web dispatcher.
Web Dispatcher is in the DMZ not behind the firewall. We opened the port 80 only for Web dispatcher server.
We are getting an error in the browser,
http://<host of portal>.<domain name>:50000/irj/portal can not be recognized.
I have no clue to how to get rid of this error. any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,

    Hi,
I do not know the exact ESS WebDynpro you are using but it may be possible that these WebDynpros use absolute URLs which of course do not point to the hostname and port of the Web Dispatcher.
There are several ways to circumvent this:
Please check http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/62/5f374ff72c40478fcba2bb4fa79ddf/frameset.htm and add the parameters wdisp/add_client_protocol_header and (more important for you: wdisp/handle_webdisp_ap_header) to the WebDynpro configuration.
(A nice explenation why we have to use this can be found here: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/bsp/using+proxies&)
another way would be to tell the J2EE engine directly that it is behind a WebDispatcher, by setting the ProxyMappings (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/b8/437d46d4451e4c9ab756e272a1581d/frameset.htm)

  • SAP Web Dispatcher Configuration (SSL, certificates)

    Hi all,
We're trying to configure the SAP Web Dispatcher for the use of SSL (terminated) and client authentication using x.509 certificates. All works (almost)fine. However, there's some strange behavior that I can not explain.
The following access point have been specified in the profile:
    Description of the Access Points
    icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTPS, PORT=443, TIMEOUT=15
    icm/server_port_2 = PROT=HTTP, PORT=83, TIMEOUT=15
    icm/HTTPS/verify_client = 2
Basicly we only need users to access the web dispatcher using SSL. However, when I remove the line: icm/server_port_2 = PROT=HTTP, PORT=83, TIMEOUT=15
The Web Dispatcher returns an error upon accessing it using HTTPS:
    Dispatching Error
    Error: -26
    Version: 6040
    Component: HTTP_ROUTE
    Date/Time: Tue Mar 14 07:19:38 2006
    Module: http_route.c
    Line: 2383
    Server: sapvm1_DVS_26
Detail: no valid destination server available for '!ALL' rc=13
Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
    Frodo

    Hi KS,
Maybe you were right afterall I found a nice How to on the servce.sap.com (https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000073632&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202) and it seems you do have to add the HTTP server_port parameter in case SSL is being terminated (no re-encryption).
    icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTPS, PORT=443, TIMEOUT=15
    icm/server_port_1 = PROT=HTTP, PORT=0, TIMEOUT=15
However, the trick is to set the port to zero (0), that way you can still only access the Web Dispatcher via HTTPS.
    All is working now.

  • "SSO" for non-sap web application using SAPGUI to browse?

I have a web application (non SAP) and the user base are also SAP users in an ABAP system.
To strengthen the authentication in the web app, I wanted to implement SSO
authentication as we pity the users for having to remember so many strong pw's and I
dont like LDAP based pw sync or other technology I dont understand, because then we are
just yet another application with the same pw...
We are having technical problems implementing SSO on the web app side, and are anyway a
bit sceptical about the user admin / role admin assignment if we get it to work.
So I have created a transaction in SAP which browses the web app and the intention is to
send the SAP sy-uname as the web app user. We can control this using s_tcode, and
an own auth object on the WAS side and a check on the session type before the connection is
established. In this sense we are dependent on the SAP concept implemented, but even so:
The role assignment is controlled in the web app itself -> so assume that I am not overly
worried about unauthorized access to the web application, as they would not have any
system role for it as their sy-uname does not exist. (Infact we can monitor this)
The browser on the front end is the SAPGUI with html controls on the SAP side.
I would be interested in knowing whether anyone else has experience with this approach, and
whether there are any areas to be carefull of?
I would also like to know whether this is a strategic error?
    Kind regards,
    Julius

    Hi Julius,
well, if that web application would run on the same ABAP backend system then the solution described in <a href="http://service.sap.com/~iron/fm/011000358700000431401997E/0612670">SAP Note 612670</a> would be applicable:
a so-called "Re-entrance ticket" (based on the "SAP logon ticket" SSO proceedings) is issued, transported via the SAPGUI connection and back to the system via the invoked HTML control.
But for non-SAP web applications that does not help.
In that case only X.509 client certificates can be used for SSO. Actually, the web application could then also be invoked directly (independent from the SAPGUI session). The user is authenticated based on the X.509 client certificate - and not based on the ABAP userID (of the SAPGUI session).
Well, if you don't mind the effort you could also use the "SAP Logon Ticket evaluation library" (sapssoext, see <a href="http://service.sap.com/~iron/fm/011000358700000431401997E/0304450">SAP Note 304450</a>) to evalute the SAP logon ticket externally. You'll then need to have a "stub application" at the ABAP side that triggers the http redirect to your external web application. Not a nice solution but a possible one.
In the future SAML browser artifacts would be an option (preferable to integrate non-SAP applications). But currently that's not available (for NWAS ABAP).
    Cheers, Wolfgang

  • LOVs not working in Webi Report for SAP BO 4.1 SP 2 Patch 3

    Hello ,
I have developed reports and universes in SAP BO 4.0 SP 5 and i have migrated those reports to higher version of BO which is 4.1 SP2 Patch 3.
My universe is working fine with LOVs but when i run the webi report , the LOVs arent working.
have anyone facing the same issue. any idea why the LOVs arent working on higher version.?

    Hi Victor,
The List of values we will assign in universe in order to get filtered data works on universe query panel
but the same objects when i am using in report(webi report) , the List of values are not working .i.e
they are not getting displayed in webi report.
for ex: i have country object having country names as LOVs and state objects having state names as LOVs . Now when i select Country value , the LOVs of state objects should get filtered and shows only states which belongs to country .
the above logic is not working in webi report , i am only able to select country and when i go for state, the state names do not get filtered.
please let me know why this is happening in the SP2 patch 3 version and its working fine for SP2  , but the chrome issue gets solved after applying patch 3 and not if we only upgrade to SP2.
the webi reports are not working in chrome browser if we using SAP B04.1 SP2 and lower version
but the LOVs are not working in SAP BO 4.1 SP 2 patch 1, 2,3.
kindly help me with the issue

  • How to create web service for a Java class in SAP NetWeaver Studio

    hi all,
i am using SAP Netweaver Developer Studio.have created a normal java project and i want to create web service for one of the classes in this project. i used the  Web Service Creation Wizard to create a web service for this class. but it says there's no methods available for VI. all my methods in this class are public, what should i do?

    Hi,
I guess there are other ways. But this is an easy way, if you find the right wizards.
Besides this it is good practise to define interface methods so that session bean implement these interface methods, and thus seperate the interface from the implementation.
In this approach you will need 3 projects:
An enterprise application project (will contain EJB Module)
An EJB Module project (will contain session bean)
A Java project (contains code that implements the session bean methods)
In my previous post I suggested to use a J2EE web mudule project. This was a mistake, it should be EJB module.
But it should be possible to do it in another way. It is up to you.
    Good luck, Roelof

  • Creation of Web Template for SAP R/3 Transaction

    Hi ,
How can i create my Web Template for SAP R/3
transaction for publishing in ITS ?
I have created my own Z transaction of
(Module Pool ), <b> How  can i create Template & run
       it  through web .     </b>
    Regards
    Sachin S M

    Go to transaction SE80
    choose internet service option.
enter a name for the service and hit enter, the system will prompt with a message that the service is not available do you want to create clik yes.
choose the radiobutton screen based application and enter the transaction code and hit enter.
once the service is created, right click on the service name and click create Template, enter the program name (it will be defaulted from the transaction) screen number and hit save.
once created you have to activate it and publish it to ITS server.
Which version of SAP are you using? you can show your transaction on the web using ITS without creating template also.

  • Creation of "Web Dynpro for Java"  for SAP transaction

    Hi All,
In EP when we create SAP transaction iView for SAP transaction,
a)ITS server is required if we choose SAP GUI Type as WebGui(Performance wise as well as some other issues)
b)SAP GUI has to be installed if we choose SAP GUI Type as WinGui.(User has to install SAP GUI).
Can we overcome these two issues by creating Web Dynpro application for SAP transaction in quicker way. Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Gangadharayya.

    Hi,
It is not possible to display a transaction directly in a java web dynpro. If you do not want to use a transaction iview the only other possibility is to create a web dynpro that uses BAPI's as models.

  • XI for create web servicies for SAP R/3 4.6C

    Hi All,
we are implementing PM (Plant Management) module of SAP R/3 4.6C and we have the necessity to create web services for some PM functionalities. Infact we need to integrate our SAP R/3 4.6C with other applications (non-SAP) through TIBCO (it's mandatory). So we think to use SAP XI. Moreover our users don't want to use SAP GUI for the accessing to the PM functionalities but they want an UI more friendly. So we think to use SAP EP.
Which is your opinion about this architectural scenario? Is it possible to fulfil the requirement of our business users with a more simple architectural solution (for example with WEB DYNPRO)?
Many thanks in advance for your collaboration.
    Regards,
    Bob

Infact we need to integrate our SAP R/3 4.6C with other applications (non-SAP) through TIBCO (it's mandatory). So we think to use SAP XI.
TIBCO is another middleware. So once you expose your R/3 functionalities as web service, you may directly use TIBCO to integrate and XI won't be required at all.
Moreover our users don't want to use SAP GUI for the accessing to the PM functionalities but they want an UI more friendly.
WebDynpro application would provide you an easy GUI and could act as Soap client as well to send data.

    Prateek

  • Best practice for Web Dynpro for Java to connect to SAP HR

What is best way to connect Web Dynpro for Java application deployed in SAP portal to connect to SAP HR ?
Is it good practice to connect to underlying SAP database ( eg oracle) directly to get the data or is there a better way ?
This below article describes to connect to external DB, however Is there any other way for  SAP HR ?
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/WDJava/WebDynproApplciationwithDatabaseMS+Access

    Hi,
There are 2 supported ways :
First is  to use JCO connections to call abap RFC enabled function modules. (BAPIs for example)
Second is to call SOAP web services (HR enterprise services for example)
You should never access directly database tables...

  • Import Data from Office Control (Web Dynpro for ABAP) into SAP-Table

    Hello,
I have a question concerning the Office Control UI-Eelement in Web Dynpro for ABAP:
How can I import spreadsheet data from the Office Control in a SAP-table?
I have an Excel-sheet (without any data) which is shown initially in the Office Control. First the empty Excel-Sheet will be loaded and in the second step data from an alvxml-transformation will be loaded into the Excel-sheet with the method 'activatexmlsource'. This works so far. When I change the loaded data in the Office Control and save it it will be stored as XLS-File. The problem is that I'm not able to use existing Upload-FM because every function module I tried uses GUI-functions and WebDynpro has no GUI-functionality. I always get the error that data from clipboard cannot be imported.
    So now the question is:
How can I import changed data from the Office control into a SAP-table staying in Web Dynpro application?
Please give some advice, if you have some useful code or ideas.
    Thanks in advance,
    Philipp
Edited by: Philipp Hiebler on Feb 11, 2008 10:15 AM

    Hi,
Once you save to desktop again you have made some changes to that file, this file you want to upload it right.
Then in that case you need to use the FILEUPLOAD UI element right.

    Lekha.

    Hi Diz,
You can use RSAQ_REMOTE_QUERY_CALL (which rfc enabled) functional module to generate rfc adaptive model which can be used inside WD project.
