The following error went out when latest sapcar was downloaded,
SAPCAR_0-10003696 was executed, and the following command was executed.
 sapcar -xvf
'Sapcar' is not recognized as an internal command or an external command
and a program or a batch file that can be operated.
Solution Manager 7.0
Who anybody knows how it resolve?
Thanks for your advance,
Hiroya Adachi

Hi Hiroya,
what is the operating system you are working on?
The file your downloaded is SAPCAR 7.00 for Windows Server on x64 64bit.
Make sure the file sapcar.exe (rename from SAPCAR_0-10003696) exists in the directory you are executing the command from or at least make sure the SAP system run directory is in your PATH environment variable.

  • System Mail Delete Issue

Each time I start Terminal I get the "You have mail." message. They are useless messages sent to me from MacScan, so I used to ignore them. I am done ignoring them and want to go in and delete them all. So, I run "mail" or "mailx" (both give me the same results) and then "d *". It doesn't give me an error, but when I "exit" mail and then go back in all the messages are still there. I continue to get the "You have mail." message whenever I start Terminal. I have tried all parameters for "d" including no parameters which should just delete the current message and still nothing. If I type "d <enter>" as many times as there are messages, then the next "d <enter>" will say, "No applicable messages" like it went through and deleted them all, but lo and behold, they are still there.
Any thoughts? I have in the past gone through and found the actual messages on the system and deleted them that way, but I always forget where they are and am sick of hunting them down when it is completely unnecessary.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The 92x_64 directory will be created automatically once you run sapcar command.
when you execute sapcar command from the current directory then the file and directory created in the SAR file will be created in the current directory. No need to create the directory manually before executing sapcar command.
    Thanks,
    Sudip.

  • Background Job sceduled is taking a lot of time

    Dear GRC Gurus,
I have scheduled a Background job from the Compliance Calibrator which is connecting to the DEV R3 and it is a Full Synch for the User Synchronisation.
The DEV has got 429 GB of data and the number of Users are about 20 Users.
The job is showing <b>"RUNNING"</b> in the Compliance Calibrator for the last 2 days.
In ST11 Tcode we can see some reports also being generated. I am not sure where we can see the log. Please advice how we can see the log and also whether the time this job is taking is normal or not.
Expecting for a reply soon. Thanks in anticipation.
    Best Regards
    Somnath and Chakra

    Hello Guys,
Somnath is asking about Netweaver background jobs and not your r/3 sm37 jobs.
in CC51 GRC create their own SM36. Remember their is not SM36 type functionality in Netweaver.
So these are WEBDYNPRO jobs that are running.
Well Somnath, yes it do take some time when you do Full Sync for first time. Two days is normal. But subsequent Incremental jobs will not take any time.
Please do check that you have applied latest support pack of CC 5.1. Tell me name of CAR file you unzipped using SAPCAR command. Does it contain string SP02 or SP03.
It should contain SP03. Also tell me on which WAS is you NW installed.

  • Can't unpack KB70013.sar

    Dear Gurus,
I've downloaded the Basis support pack KB70013.sar for solution manager 4.0
But I can not unpack this file using the regular sapcar command "sapcar -vxf"
I also get an error message when I try to unpack it via the GUI
    Can you please help me?
    Thanks,
    Karim

    Hi Karim,
Please do this command> SAPCAR –xvf <File>.sar
    or SAPCAR -xvf <DIR><FILE_NAME>.SAR
    example,
    SAPCAR –xvf <CD Drive:\INST_700/DATA/CCM20017.SAR>
    if it doesnt work,
It may be because of the sapcar extractor that you have. You must have the appropriate SAPCAR.
    Please download a new sapcar.
    http://service.sap.com/swdc
Use search for all categories>sapcar > then choose your sap version.

  • SAP Note 988336 - How to fix it ?

My SAP Kernel is 6.4, Oracle 9i, HP-UX. The database server will be upgraded to Oracle 10g.
In order to be able to run online table reogran with LONG column (LONG-LOB migration), according to to SAP Note 988336, I have to run the Support Package SAPKB64019, but I don't know how to handle the down loaded file : KB64019.CAR, what is it ? How to execute this CAR file ?

    Hi,
The CAR file is an archive containing *.ATT and *.PAT files.
ATT is attribute and PAT is the actual package containing the correction instructions.
Uncar or decompress using the SAPCAR command with 'xvf' option.
SAPCAR would be available in the ..\usr\sap\<sid>\DV...\exe directory of you operating system.
Further I suggest to go through the document:
    http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/BCUPGOCSSPAM/BCUPGOCSSPAM.pdf
It mentions extracting the CAR packages, loading and applying the patch via SPAM tool onto the SAP system.

    Hi Saludos,
I would say, you should then run it on windows ... this is the same, but works perhaps easier for you ...
    i5:
    sapcar '-xvf LSMW180.CAR'
    Windows:
    sapcar -xvf LSMW180.CAR
    ... easy, isn't it ?

  • SAPCAR file usage

    Hi..
I want to install JIDE19_0-10002804.SAR and I do have SAPCAR.CAR file. What is the procedure ? I am not able to find setup file from .sar file. please help.

    Hi,
SAPCAR is a application which can unzip the SAR files.
    To do this:
    1. Start CMD (Dos Console)
    2. Place the SAR file and SAPCAR file in the same directory
    3. In you dos console navigate to the above folder
    4. Run command: <b>SAPCAR -xvf "*.sar"</b> or <b>SAPCAR -xvf JIDE19_0-10002804.sar</b>
This will extract the sar file, then go into the extracted dir and run setup file.

  • Download .SAR file with SAPCAR.exe

    Hi
    I have downloaded SAPCAR.exe from marketplace (SAPCAR 7.10 -> Windows on IA64 64bit)
I have to use this to extract .SAR file.
In command window I came to the path with .SAR file and write SARCAR -xvf <filename.SAR>
But I got error: 'SAPCAR' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I have also rename SAPCAR.exe to just SAPCAR. I also have place the SAPAR file in the same path as the .SAR file.
Is there anything else I should do?
Where should I place the SAPCAR.exe file? And with what name?
    Thank You
    BR
    Sadaf

    Hi,
FInd the location of SAPCAR file, copy the path and add it to environment variables ( go to my computer properties and in advance tab, you can find environment variables tab. add the line path=<SPACAR file location> example:/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run)
or as an alternative you can just type path=<SPACAR file location> example:/usr/sap/<SID>/exe/run before executing SAPCAR from anywhere
Then you can execute SPACAR from anywhere.

  • Sapcar.exe unavailable

Why do things have to be so difficult? I, along with the scores of others, have been spending DAYS trying to get the Netweaver for JAVA Sneak Preview installed on XP with no success. So now I have been advised to use cleanup.exe. Well, its cleanup.sar so I have to extract it with sapcar.exe. Well...I don't HAVE sapcar.exe. I was then advised to go to services.sap.com and download it. Well, apparently my userid is not allowed to download hardly ANYTHING. So I go there and it just says "Not Available" on every link I click.
Can someone help me please? Downloading sapcar.exe shouldn't be so difficult. Thank you.
