SAPCCM4X Agent Shutdown

Hello
A few SAPCCM4X agents are shutting down by itself. Analyzing the log of this agents the message below is informed:
Mon Aug 23 12:15:16 2010
CCMCTRL: ERROR: csm_show_file: no permission to read /usr/sap/PRD/SYS/profile/PR
D_G08_sapprdi
CCMCTRL: ERROR: csm_show_file: Please check sapccmsr.ini
I tried to find the profile mentioned in the warning but with no succes. I know that the cause of the shutdown of the agent is that because the correct profile is PRD_D08_sapprdi instead of PRD_G08_sapprdi. I also checked sapccmsr.ini but found nothing.
I can start the agent normally choosing the correct parameter (PRD_D08_sapprdi) but sometimes the agent shutdown by itself with the error message above.
Why the agent search for the wrong profile and where can I change it to the right profile?
Thanks in advance

Thank you Mani, I will make this test in only one appl server and monitor.
I will let you know the resul of my tests.

  • SAPCCM4X agents are shutting down by itself

    Hello Gurus
A few SAPCCM4X agents are shutting down by itself and this is happening
for systems which have a version 4.6c and 4.5B in our landscape like PCX.. Analyzing the log of one of this agents the
    message below is informed:
    Mon May 9 04:41:10 2011
CCMCTRL: ERROR: csm_show_file: no permission to
    read /usr/sap/PCX/SYS/profile/PCX_G34_zonepcx
CCMCTRL: ERROR: csm_show_file: Please check sapccmsr.ini
I tried to find the profile mentioned in the warning but with no
succes. The cause of the shutdown of the agent is that because the
correct profile is PCX_DVEBMGS34_zonepcx instead of PCX_G34_zonepcx but
why it is looking for the wrong one when everything is configured with
    the profile PCX_DVEBMGS34_zonepcx . I also checked sapccmsr.ini but
    found nothing.
I  can start the agent normally choosing the correct parameter
(PCX_DVEBMGS34_zonepcx) but sometimes the agent shutdown by itself
after 3-4 days with the error message above.
Why the agent search for the wrong profile and where can I change it to
    the right profile ?
Or is there any other way to resolve it.

  • Installation of SAPCCM4X-Agent on Windows Cluster

    Hi!
I woulld like to install SAPCCM4X-Agent on Windows Cluster.
Does anyone know the procedure here (e.g. install the agent twice on both nodes, etc.)...
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Hello Thom,
Here is a note that will help you out.
SAP Note 536954 - OS data in a cluster environment for OS07
    As per the note
The CCMS agent must be located on a shared disk, so that the cluster administrator software can start the service later.

  • Registration of SAPCCM4x agent failed

    Hi!
I would like to install a SAPCCM4x agent on the satellite systems host (Unix).
If enter the data of CEN system, user and password the connection to CEN cannot be established and I get the following error:
    ERROR: RFC error: 104 RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
(see RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details)
In file dev_rfc I could find:
Connection to host <hostname>, service 3302 timed out
Can some one help me to solve the problem?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Hi Thom,
sometimes you can ping from hostA to hostB , however you are unable to ping hostB to HostA.
In this case, you need to check if both CEN and Satellite systems can ping each other.
this can be done using the 'ping' command at the OS level.
    Check the page :
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping
Also, I asked if you are able to use your SAP Logon pad to login into CEN using the same userid/password that you are using in the RFC destination.

  • Installation problems with SAPCCM4X Agent

    Hi!
I would like to install a SAPCCM4x agent on windows and have two problems.
By one of the systems when i execute the commando for the installation sapccm4x -R pf=...
I get the following error message:
ERROR: Cannot open Monitoring Segment 0 rtc = 245

SAPCCM4X of release 7.00 is to be used only to monitor ABAP instances of kernel release 7.00 (NW04s) or 6.40.
By the second system I can install the SAPCCM4X agent, but the agent is stopped after 3 seconds.
I have looked into the log files I do not detect any problems.
Can some one help to solve the problems ?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi,
I could install XE in my (physical) machine with FC4 without any particular issue (just had to add some swap space); I also had to remove reference to ORACLE* environment variables prior to install the rpm (the rpm install warned me about both of the issues)
I just miss the menu icons that are correctly installed in suse: did you manage to have them?

  • Sapccm4x agent terminates

    Hi ,
I am facing a strange problem. The sapccm4x agent for our quality box terminates after 5 minutes after starting with following error.
    INFO: entering  sReInitSapccmsrLight
ERROR: Reinitialization called more than 10 times in the last 5 minutes

We are using the latest CCMS agent avialable for our ABAP stack 701 release on HP-UX 11.31 IA64
The strange thing is the same version is working properly on the dev and prod boxes which have the same configuration.I searched a lot of forums and notes but could not find anything tht cud solve the problem.
Please let me know if anyone has faced this similar issue.
    Regards,
    Max

The agent stops, due it can't initialize the needed shared memory
segment. It can be also seen in the dev_disp trace:
    CCMS: AlInitGlobals : alert/use_sema_lock = TRUE.

    ERROR => AlDpAdmInit: sAlInit rtc = 1 [alxx.c 514]
    ERROR => DpLoopInit: AlDpAdmInit [dpxxdisp.c 2016]
    I ran the following command:
    sappfpar check pf=/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/<profile>
It showed, that the pool 10 and pool 40 were exhausted. I followed the recommendations and raised the pools.
However the agents did not start after this changes too so raised to SAP.SAP suggested that this still is a shared memory issue and a server restart should solve this issue.
Indeed this solved the problem. The agents are now running fine.

  • SAPCCM4X Agent directory getting full.

    Hello,
The sapccm4x agent running on the satellite systems produce log files i.e,dev_sapccm4x and dev_rfc.trc
which keeps growing and the file systems getting full on account of this.Only restarting the agent
puts the dev_sapccm4x into dev_sapccm4x.old but is there any other way that we can limit the size of the files to prevent space issues.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vinod Menon

    Hello,
I am not sure  about parameter to limit the file size but certainly you can monitor it and take preventive action instead of reactive one.
You can use the parameter MONITOR_FILESIZE_KB to monitor in rz20.
Here is the link containing detailed information.

    Hi,
Can you tell us what command you are firing for starting CCMS Agent.
    Suggestion:
    1. Start CCMS agent by following command -->
    sapccm4x pf=<path of instance profile> -nosema -DCCMS
If above command still not resolve the problem.
Then download the latest CCMS Agent of 640 for your system and the try to run above command again.

  • SAPCCM4X Agent Installation

    Hi!
I would like to set up the SAPCCM4X agent on the satellite system.

  • SAPCCM4X agent reports active eventhough its stopped at OS level

We are having sapccm4x agent running on NW PI 7.1 system connected to Solman 7.0
When we stop the agent or if the agent process stops / killed, normally its reported at SAP level as Inactive and availability as 0
    On Solman system
RZ21 --> Technical Infrastructre --> Display Topology --> Agents for Solman system SID --> Agent for Remote SAP system -->
the particular agent status is ONLINE and it tests properly
    Also
RZ20 --> CCMS Technical expert monitors -> CCMS Selfmonitoring --> SID -->  CCMS Agents
Reports the status and availability MTE as green
    But at OS level
    ps -ef | grep ccm
    sapccm4x -stop pf=<instance profile path>
    it says AGENT IS STOPPED
I cleared shared memory as well using command
    sapccm4x  pf=<instance profile path> -initshm
    Please help, Thanks
    Regards
    Shanmuga

    Thanks Ragu,
    I tried the same
But since SAPCCM4X is connected to Solution manager as its Central monitoring system
    On Solman:
RZ21 --> Segment overview --> did not list SAPCCM4x entry for this managed system
It lists its own local segments
    Hence on managed system
    RZ21 --> Segment overview -->
SAP_CCMS_hostname_SID_01     Appl. Server     hostname_SID_01 - Reset to Warmup status
And then started and stopped agent at OS level, still its reporting active

  • No Permanent PID for SAPCCM4X Agent

    Hi,
I have installed the "SAPCCM4X" agent in one of the satellite system.
After installing the agent, its not allocating separate process id for the agent.
It is running in some shared memory. (INFO: Agent is running (no actual pid, but actual shared memory!))
So i was not able to stop or restart the agent.
I tried running the command "sapccm4x -initshm pf=/..." to clear the shared memory. That too dint solve my problem. Not able to restart still showing "no actual pid".
    Kindly help on this issue.
    Thanks in Advance

  • Problems with data transfer to CEN via SAPCCM4X agent

    Hello!
We are facing with the the following problem with data transfer since we installed SAPCCM4X agent:
    - new alerts can only be seen within alert history
    - old alerts cannot be deleted
We checked the agents via RZ21 and also the appropriate log files do not get further information.
When we stop the SACCM4X agents and the monitoring data is representing via RFC connection everything is ok.
Can some one help to solve this problem?
    Thank you!

As Woodmeister50 told, direct connect between two iMacs via Ethernet cable is much faster than via adaptor, I suppose.

  • Sapccm4x agent registration fails

    Hi there,
i am trying to set up/register a ccm4x agent for monitoring, as it is unicode and our system just converted to unicode, error i get is:
<i>ERROR: Monitoring segment belongs to central system <CEN_SID>
CCMS agent SAPCCM4X may only be run for remote segments that do not belong to central system <CEN_SID></i>
suppose it's not linked to any patch, as i could not find a workable solution/description at the SAP marketplace. Maybe the whole answer is in the error message, but anyhow,
sapccmsr and sapcm3 agents work out fine on the same HW, so.. Any help for a workaround greatly appreciated

solution found, i'll try to answer and summarize,
as to the monitoring infractructure, we keep running those cm3agents just to help us with parameters the system can't get on its own as for example Archive DIR freespace for a DB on a different IP (even though on same HW )as the Central instance.
They then get sent along with other CCMS info periodically to an external monitoring agent (that's as far as i get understanding it). CEN is thus each Central instance system.
Advised solution we got for now is to use an agent cm3x from the Solution Manager (weird, isn't it ?) support packages, which supports unicode.
i guess all this hassle is just about our specific way of monitoring those systems, i can end this thread, as tis not a general case config of monitoring .
Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to all .thanks for trying to help.

  • How to remove unwanted sapccm4x agents?

    Hi Guys
We just recently moved two SAP instances from one server to another, and I'd like to remove the registered agents for the old servers
On RZ21 --> Technical Topology, for SAP system S01 as example, there are two entries:
OFFLINE for the older system (WS10) and unwanted agent
ONLINE which is the new registered agent on new server (WS03) properly working
Using the sapccm4x -u parameter on the new server WS03 only un-register the agent on that server, not the older one
I need to remove the agent from the old server (WS10) and since the S01 SAP instance was removed before unregistering the agent Im not able to remove the entry from there.
RFC connections were updated but that is not solving this.
Is there any workaround at DB level or some trick to remove those unwanted entries?
    Thanks!

    Hi Rajeev
I have tried with parameter -u, but only can be executed from the former server (WS10) and not from the new (WS03).
Unregisterig the agent using the old profile WS10 is not resulting as expected, since it removes the agent associated to the new server.
Also, there is no Trash Icon/Delete Feature on RZ21, allowing to remove the unwanted entry
    Thanks!

  • Registring SAPCCM4x agent

    Hi All,
I have registered two CCMs agents in ECC 6.0 server (windows on Oracle) by using the following commands:
    SAPCCMSR -R pf=instanc profile path
    and
    SAPCCMSR -j2ee -R pf=instance profile path
. Two services have been created "sapccmsr.<SNo.> " and " sapccmsr.99 " . I think the above two are to monitor the local system in which it is registered.
    --? Is my understanding correct?
I want to register sapccm4x also but when i tried it has thrown me the following error:
Monitoring segment belongs to central system <SID>
CCMs agent SAPCCM4X may only be run for remote segments that do not belong to central system <SID>.
I have not done this task before so i am having few doubts:
--? We are planning to have our central system as Solution Manager so can i register sapccm4x in ECC 6.0 or do i need to register this in Solman?
--? When i tried registering sapccm4x in SOLMAN also i received the same error. How to make SOLMAN come to know that sapccm4x is regsitered to you to monitor ECC 6.0 also?
These may be the basic questions but i didnt find exact answers to the above. Could you please help me out.
    Thanks,
    Subbu

    Hi,
Before starting to register the ccms agents from the stellaite systems to the central system (SolMan) you need to create a communication user CSMREG using the tcode RZ21 (technical infrastructure --> Configure central system --> create CSMREG user.
You need this user while registering the satellite systems and also to create the RFC destinations.
The folowing link provides you step by step procedure in configuring central system monitoring using CCMS.
