i habe a Probelm during the EHP1 Upgrade of a Netweaver System, in Phase Main_NEWBAS/STARTSAO_NBAS the
following error occurs.
"SAPehpi broke during phase STARTSAP_NBAS in module MAIN_NEWBAS / Downtime II: Conversion, Main Import, XPRAs
Error Message: RFC call to subst_get_uvers failed with key RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE (SYSTEM_FAILURE): Logon not possible (error in license check)"
In the Shadow instance iis only a expired Templicense !

It looks like it is trying to start the shadow instance, I have check the made correction to the LIBPATH for the sidadm user and then re-started the upgrade still the same error

I checked the system instance and it was down. When I try to start up it manually with startsap, I do not get any error:

I can't find any clue why the system processes are not starting. The phase is the next after kernel upgrade from 700 to 720, so I believe it is related to the switch and maybe my kernel is not correctly updated or something is missing.
Please let me know any suggestion to know why the system is not starting.

No object was removed with the cleanipc command, anyway I've rebooted the server and then started db and sap again. Now the dev traces are written.

The kernel version seems to be 700 here, I don't know why because when I check the disp+work -version is 720.

Please take a look at dispatcher and latest work processes trace files for the reason of this problem. Try to start the instance manually and see.
This problem might occur when your system does not have latest kernel installed. Do you have the latest target kernel?
If not, please update kernel and resume the upgrade. It should be working fine.

Upgrade - SAP will not restart during MAIN_NEWBAS/STARTSAP_NBAS phase
We are upgrading from 4.7 to NW 7.0 (SP#5)
SAP will not restart during the phase MAIN_NEWBAS/STARTSAP_NBAS
We had to manually apply the kernel (NW 7.2 -#63 - NON UC). This looks OK when we calll DW -version. The T03 system will not start either through the upgrade tool or manually. There is no useful log in
\usr\sap\T03\DVEBMGS15\work
The upgrade tool reports this error.

MattThanks Rene, I have updated the ticket with the required information. In the mean time I am interested if anyone else had had a similar problem during an upgrade. We did have an initial error with the crtsidusr command ( setting CLASSICUSERCONCEPT + removing some of the SPCAUT) seemed to fix that. At this point the upgrade failed and we had to manually APYSAPKRN, the log shoewed it wanted the NON UC which was odd as we are including the UC in the upgrade.

Error in MAIN_NEWBAS/STARTSAP_NBAS Upgrade EHP1

We have errors in this downtime phase of our BI upgrade. It looks like the KERNEL hasn't updated correctly ?
When I run R3INLPGM the environment variables do not show.
The SCS 00 instance started o.k. and Instance 01 is partially up with DISPATCHER JCONTROL SDM SERVER0
WATCHDOG only running.
I've followed all recommendations of note 1165462.
The error I see on the SDT tool is below together with the errors I see when I try to STOPSAP for manual intervention on 00 or 01
I forced an end of the subsystem to do a manual APYSAP of kernel 69 but this has the same results.

her wanted to say, that either the shadow during uptime or later the real instance during downtime restarts SAP several times and ALWAYS start saposcol as well. If this fails - which is a really crazy behviour - SAP shuts down again !
=> The easiest - especially during an upgrade - is to just comment the saposcol start in the start profile
Then you have repeat the upgrade after shutting down the instance completey with killing all proceeses and it should work fine ...

Have you tried by executing script mssupgsps.sql ,which you can find under D:\usr\sap\put\bin.This script will create stored procedure sap_upg_getrelease.
After execution provide grant with following

grant all on sap_upg_getrelease to <sid>_shd

Flash Player Plug-In broke across all browsers. OSX
Ever since the last Flash update, it will no longer run in any browser. It shows an error that the plug-in is broke. Steps I have done:
-Trashed all prefs
-Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player
-Repaired permissions
Nothing works. I created a new User on his machine and it works in that account. I don't want to just wipe out his account and move him to a new account. I'm hoping there is something else I can do to fix the problem.

I support a bunch of Mac users and one of them (10.5.7 MBP) ran into this same
problem last week with both Safari and Firefox crashing with the flash player
plugin. If I removed the Flash Player plugin and the .xpt file there was no

changing perms for read/write for everyone.
Re-installed shockwave plugin using the customized full install (this made no
sense to me since I had made no change to shockwave but as I was testing the
browsers I was prompted to install it, so I did)
Repaired permissions
The version of the Flash Player plugin that ended up installed on this Mac is
10.0.12.36. I started off installing the newer and recommended 10.0.22.87
version but it didn't fix anything. I inadvertently went backwards as I moved
plugins in and out of the Library. I didn't want to change anything once it was
working so I left it at the older version. I hope this helps someone else. -

There are dependencies between packages included into the procedure and the target release kernel.
The release of tool disp+work needs to be at least 702.
*Any idea where can I download disp+work 702..* On SAP Service Marketplace?
I did find this kernel on SAP Service Marketplace but no 702?

We are close to finishing the first pass at upgrading our R/3 6.4 SAP system to 7.20. However the restart of the T03 system has stopped at the MAIN_NEWBAS/STARTSAP_NBAS phase.
This is the error message.

When we check the user profile T03OFR there is no kernel library in the library list. The job tried to start the R3_15 subsystem rather then the new SAP15T03 subsystem. We will need to apply a kernel to the T03 system to restart the upgrade.
Any thoughts if we should apply the the OLD kernel C64U0377 or the NEW kernel SAPT03IND

ok, this phase STARTSAP_NBAS is after the kernel switch => you do need the new kernel. But, I would suspect, that the kernel got applied, but you are having issues with the sapinlpgm ...
You do need the NEW kernel. I would suspect, that it started in the new SBS but it still uses the old job-queue R3_15 => you might become confused on that.
I'm sorry, that I cannot help more from here ...

Hi all
I have 2 database servers"Primary database and physical standby" in test environment( before going to Production)
Before Dataguard broker configuration , DG setup was running fine , redo was being applied and archived on phy standby.
but while enabling configuration i got "Warning: ORA-16607: one or more databases have failed" listener.ora & tnsnames.ora are updated with global_name_DGMGRL

I have checked (many times the DDIC passwords for both the main instance and the Shadow instance and set the passwords using the 'Start With Options' in the SDT but same result each time. The Shadow instance is definitely started (you can log in with DDIC) I have raised an SMP message with SAP.

I had this as well, but it worked when I reset the password for DDIC in the in the shadow of SAPUP - there are 2 different stored passwords insite SAPUP (or sapehpi).
(right now I do not fully know the syntax for that reset ... perhaps "reset ddicpwd" and "reset ddicpwdshd" or similar ...)
