SAPGUI 7.20 installer script in Lion fails to create SAP folder in Pref
I have an issue in which the the SAPGUI for Mac installer/script is failing to created tge SAP folder in Hard drive /Library/Preferences folder as in does in Snow Leopard. When I use my Applescript later to move the connection files to the preferences folder, it fails because the SAP folder was not created by the SAPGUI installer script. It looks like Apple has increased security on the Preferences folder since I'm being prompted to delete any file in the Preferences folder or subfolders.
I using PlatinGUI720MacOSX_6-10006059.JAR (version 720.6)
I've tried to modify my applescript to create the SAP folder in Hard drive/Library/Preferences but have not been successfully and also a bit concerned about where else the install script behaves differently in Lion compared to Snow Leopard.
Hi, not we not have opened note for the issue.
we check, open note in oss.
Thank you.

Dreamweaver cs6 fails to create a folder for the scripts
Dreamweaver CS6 does not automatically create a folder to store the scripts therefore the navigation bar is not created as it should? Does it need to be re installed on the network. Is it something on the network that prevents it from creating the folders?
I have no trouble creating folders manually in the local site Files panel (F8). Right click on sitename. Select New Folder. Name it. Move scripts into to that folder.

Webutil failed to create temporary folder using Get_work_area()
Friends,
We have been migrating from 6i to 10g AS 3-tier environment. We have been using get_work_area() procedure to create temporary folders to transfer report output PDF files for printing. Intially we could able to transfer the files and from there we used webutil_host.blocking to issue the print command. It was working fine. Now webutil is failing to create the temporary folder in the server which was mapped as c:\temp in the webutil.cfg file. We are unable to find the reason behind this failure. Please put your comments for this.
Apart from this if anybody is having solution to print the file to the local printer, please provide the step for that approach.
Regards,
KBIn case /tmp directory is automatically deleted, is it possible to configure a custom directory for alsbTempJars dir in OSB to assure it is never deleted?Add the -Djava.io.tmpdir=newTempDir parameter in the JAVA_PROPERTIES section of the setDomainEnv.sh script. This new location should be outside of the /tmp dir to avoid being cleared by any process.
I think best soultion would be to have alsbTempJars automatically created whenever /tmp is purged.Doing it on the fly may not be possible however you may anytime raise an enhancement request with support and if prod dev approves it, you may get a fix.

Why the installation of the X lion failed?
I bought a Macbook MAC OS X, version 10.6.8, 13inch in 2008. I installed windows to my macbook. Recently, it has been upgraded to X Snow leopard, it works fine. However, everytime when I try to upgrade it into X lion, it failed. The stuff in the apple shop told me to backup all the data into a hardrive, I did, but it still failed.
What does' bcause a recovery system can't be created' mean? What should I do?As I understand you issue, it is like this:
- computer has SL installed, also Windows in a boot camp partition, therefore you have 2 partitions
- upon attempting to install Lion, you get that error; that error means that it cannot create the 3rd partition, required by Lion, recovery partition
This may be due to the fact the disc is too fragmented, and that partition cannot be created. Lion may live without it, but Apple engineering decided that this is mandatory, and installer script does not allow to continue if it is not created. I am not very sure, because I cannot reproduce this, but may be a frequent problem if there are already 2 or more partitions, and Lion is attempted to be installed.
If this is the explanation, then your only solution is to begin from the scratch, i.e. completey erase the disk by creating one partition again, install Lion (it will now create its recovery partition), when ready use Boot Camp, and reinstall Windows. This is a longer process, but is clean and, presumably, guaranteed to work.
I do not think you can swindle the installer by another trick if it displays that message. -
Mountain Lion fails to install saying it cannot create the recovery; I had a similar problem with Lion and the Apple Store that helped me resolve it gave me an installable version of Mountain Lion on a flash drive for my inconvenience....is there some trick I am missing or do I need to make an appointment with a genius...
I have the MacIntosh volume and the Boot Camp partition only. I know that when I installed Lion, I had to go through a whole back-up and recovery of Windows and then re-format the drive.
The tech at the Apple Store had a previous life as a MSCE and was very helpful. I believe he even said that I should not have htis problem with Mountain Lion which is why they gave me the flash with it onboard. I was in the process of starting a new job when I went to Lion, so I have waited to do this next and probably last upgrade to this old MBP since I doubt Apple will support this MBP in Maverick.
I do not have another installation, so that is not an option. I will try to create an external, I have plenty of hard drives around and see if I can get it done that way. It might take me a week or two to get back to it, but I will comment back upon completion of that effort. Thanks for your help....Dave Iverson -

Bootcamp 5 fails to create installation USB drive
Bootcamp version 5, running on Mountain Lion, keeps failing on creating the Windows 7 Startup disk. I'm using a 8gb USB drive and it formats it without any problems. The process will carry on until around 50% of copying installation files and then fails.
I've tried 2 different USB Flash drives and I've check the ISO image for Windows 7.
Can anyone help me with a solution? Or why this is happening.
ThanksIt means you must have windows in a file instead of a disk and the file's extension is ".iso". For Example: WIN7INST.iso. .ISO files are the windows counterpart of Mac's .dmg files. How do you create a windows .iso files? I perfectly don't know but surely there's a program such as Disk Utility that can rip a Windows installer CD/DVD into a file with the .iso extension.
Back to you question: you need Windows in an .iso file format instead than a CD/DVD.
By the way... I'm not going to suggest you to do what I'm going to say because I'm not sure it always work but I sometimes rip a Windows CD/DVD with Disk Utility in "master" format (no compression) with .cdr extension. Then i just change the .cdr in .iso and it works in windows.
Why using a .ISO on a USB drive instead a CD/DVD? Becaus installation may be faster or in case you don't have a Superdrive, either internal or external, but necessary for installing Windows in BootCamp. From a generic CD/DVD reader, Windows installer will not start on a Mac, at least on my... dead late 2011 MacBook Pro.

Question on CAPolicy.inf file and post-installation script
I'm preparing a small PKI implementation with a single Enterprise Root CA on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise.
The primary role of this CA is to provide certificates for about 20 laptops that will use the certificates for authentication to a wireless network.
I have prepared a CAPolicy.inf file and a post installation script (below).
Renewal period for the root cert should be 10 years, CRL publication every 2 days with Delta publication every 12 hours (details in scripts below).
I want to make sure the AIA and CRL url commands are correct.
Does this look correct?
AIA
1:%WINDIR%\System32\CertSrv\CertEnroll\%%1_%%3%%4.crt
This should publish the CA certificate to the local file system "certenroll".
2:ldap:///CN=%%7,CN=AIA,CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,%%6%%11
This places the LDAP url in the AIA extension of issued certs.
I am not planning to use HTTP, hence its absence.
CRL
1:%WINDIR%\System32\CertSrv\CertEnroll\%%3%%8%%9.crl
This publishes the CRL to the local file system ("certenroll" subfolder).
10:ldap:///CN=%%7%%8,CN=%%2,CN=CDP,CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,%%6%%10
Indicates CDP in AD DS and includes CDP url in issued certificates.
Complete scripts
1. CAPolicy.inf - %windir%
[Version]
Signature= "$Windows NT$"
[certsrv_server]
renewalkeylength=2048
RenewalValidityPeriodUnits=10
RenewalValidityPeriod=years
CRLPeriod = days
CRLPeriodUnits = 2
CRLDeltaPeriod = hours
CRLDeltaPeriodUnits = 12
LoadDefaultTemplates=0
2. Install Role
Follow steps in GUI here
3. Run post-install script
certutil -setreg CA\DSConfigDN CN=Configuration,DC=mydomain,DC=local
certutil -setreg CA\CRLPeriodUnits 2
certutil -setreg CA\CRLPeriod "days"
certutil -setreg CA\CRLDeltaPeriodUnits 12
certutil -setreg CA\CRLDeltaPeriod "hours"
certutil -setreg CA\ValidityPeriodUnits 10
certutil -setreg CA\ValidityPeriod "Years"
certutil –setreg CA\CACertPublicationURLs "1:%WINDIR%\System32\CertSrv\CertEnroll\%%1_%%3%%4.crt\n2:ldap:///CN=%%7,CN=AIA,CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,%%6%%11"
certutil –setreg CA\CRLPublicationURLs "1:%WINDIR%\System32\CertSrv\CertEnroll\%%3%%8%%9.crl\n10:ldap:///CN=%%7%%8,CN=%%2,CN=CDP,CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,%%6%%10"
certutil -setreg CA\csp\DiscreteSignatureAlgorithm 1
certutil -setreg CA\AuditFilter 127
net stop certsvc & net start certsvc
certutil -crl
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you.A couple of things (just a quick glance)
1) CAPolicy.inf
Everything looks fine in this file. You will have a 2 day base crl and 12 hour delta CRLs. No default templates are loaded, so you must manually designate all published certificates
2) Post install Script
a. Best practices are to use HTTP only, not to use LDAP, so your whole design does not follow best practices. Furthermore, if you issue a certificate to a single, non-domain joined machine, they will be unable to evaluate your certificates. If you decide
to do VPN (or use an internal SSL cert on an externally accessible Web server), revocation checking will fail because you do not publish AD to the external world
b. Will you be issuing 10 year certificates from the CA. These lines:
certutil -setreg CA\ValidityPeriodUnits 10
certutil -setreg CA\ValidityPeriod "Years"
define the maximum validity period of certs issued *by* the CA. For example, if a certificate template states 4 years, then a four year will be issued (less than 10 years). If a template state 12 years, then the max age will be 10 years. Think of it as a
governor.
c.CACertPublicationURLs . This should include an HTTP URL, and if you want to still include LDAP, HTTP should be prior to the LDAP URL.
d. CRLPublicationURLs. This should include an HTTP URL. If you want to still include LDAP, HTTP should be prior to the LDAP URL. Your checkbox value for the LDAP URL is incorrect as well. For a CA that issues both base and delta CRLs, you must have a value
of 79 (all check boxes enabled). Your current configuration would fail for revocation checking because you do not publish the base or delta CRL to AD. There is another check box missing (I believe the one to include the URL in the base CRL's freshest CRL extension
(how to find the delta CRL).
e. Do not include the DiscreteSignatureAlgorithm line in the script. If you have any Windows XP clients, they will not be able to use the certs (BTW, this should have been AlternateSignatureAlgorithm in my book - where you sourced your scripts). This would
only be used on a CA where you used something like Elliptical Curve as the assymetric algorithm and SHA384 as the signature algorithm).
f. The restart line should be net stop certsvc && net start certsvc. The double && ensures that the service comes to a complete stop before the start command is executed.

Installing mountain lion failed
I have made a bootable USB disk of mountain lion and I tried to install mountain lion off of it. However, it has failed to install.
I went to boot it from the USB and it started installing as it should but then when it came to the second screen where it says it will take 30minutes it froze and then said that there was an error and I need to reinstall mountain lion. So I went to restart my computer and now it comes up with a error is saying "there was a problem installing "Mac OS X" try reinstalling". When I try reinstalling without my USB plugged in it comes up with the install OS x window but it does not detect my internal hard drive disk.
I do not no what to do? I tried to go utilities>restore system from backup and I plugged in my external hard drive but now it does not recognize my hard drive disk on my MacBook so I couldn't restore. Please help me! Need my MacBook to finish my assignments
I'm using a late 2008 aluminum MacBook (according to apple it's is compatible)
Upgrading from lion
Please help me ASAP if possibleSince you have Lion running after this restore, do not instal ML from this USB stick you made (it is probably not corrupt, but anyway don't use it) but download ML again.
The installer you will find then in the Applications Folder.
Before you install it, make a new USB stick installer with "Lion Diskmaker 2.0.1" : this works for Lion too. Read the acompanying readme.
When you have this USB stick made, INSTALL BY USING THE INSTALLER IN THE APPLICATIONS FOLDER:
this will eliminate the large file form your Aplications folder and will just create a ML installation with all your data etcetera in place.
Note: beware that some Apps may not be ML compatible, you can check on the www.roaringapps.com sites. -
Problems adding reg subkey in Single File Installer script
Hello,
I am having some problems with a script in my Single File Installer package im creating with the Installation Server Admin
Background:
I want to eliminate the users from having to pick the Kerberos token when we roll out SSO. To do this I need the following key in place for each user.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SecureLogin\TokenType = Kerberos
I already confirmed that I can get this key injected by the Windows system when a user (new user or existing user) on the machine by putting in the following keys under HKLM. This is really cool trick if you didn't know already, I have not seen it used here at SCN before, but I ot it from previous experience.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\slctoken\
String: Version"
Value: "1"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\slctoken
String: StubPath
Value: "reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SecureLogin" /v "TokenType" /d "kerberos" /t REG_SZ /F"
Problem:
I can create registry values with this line I also use:
NwEngine.Shell.SetRegValue "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\SAPLOGON_INI_FILE", "REG_EXPAND_SZ", "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\SAP\Common\saplogon.ini"
But when I try to create new values in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SecureLogin it doesn't work. I think it is because the SecureLogin key does not yet exist. (this can be names anything, I made it up)
Question: (in short)
How can I make a registry subkey with a script inside the Single File Installer? I could also put a bat or vbs in the CustomerFiles folder and run it, but I don't know how.
My users have admin rights, and ultimately this will be pushed with LANDesk as System. So rights is not an issue.Yea I confirmed NwEngine.SetRegValue is NOT writing the subkey, it just doesn't run if the subkey isn't in place. Windows command "reg add" will write the subkey for a value if its no there.
Also, im not writing to HKCU, im writing to a special place in HKLM. The key im writing will make the keys in HKCU during logon of the user. So I can run this as system, or local admin.
I allready have a LANDesk SAP installer, useing a VBScript that runs the sap installer, along with out OpenText installer
Here is my VB that is used with LANDesk or SCCM.
' Install SAP
Function Install_SAP()
If OSArch = "x64" Then
If objFSO.FileExists(strProgramFiles64 + "\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\saplogon.exe") Then
Else
strCurrentDir = Left(WScript.ScriptFullName, (InstrRev(WScript.ScriptFullName, "\") -1))
application = chr(34) + strCurrentDir + "\sapgui\sapgui730.exe" + chr(34) + " /NoDlg /Package=" + chr(34) + "Esri" + chr(34)
objShell.Run(application),1,true
End If
Else
If objFSO.FileExists(strProgramFiles + "\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\saplogon.exe") Then
Else
strCurrentDir = Left(WScript.ScriptFullName, (InstrRev(WScript.ScriptFullName, "\") -1))
application = chr(34) + strCurrentDir + "\sapgui\sapgui730.exe" + chr(34) + " /NoDlg /Package=" + chr(34) + "Esri" + chr(34)
objShell.Run(application),1,true
End If
End If

Hi Community,
I have a new MBP 2011, that came with OSX Lion Installed.
The system statred off very well, with super startup and shut down times.
Along the way the system beagn freezing while under load, and the problem was resolved after installing the latest patches to 10.7.1.
A few weeks ago, the laptop began developing the following problems:
1. OSX Lion takes time to shutdown, almost 2 minutes or more.
2. The Problem has now worsened and OSX Lion fails to shut down completely until I hold on to the power button for a few seconds.
I checked on the logs for any signs, but being a first time mac user, am not sure how to get to the root of the problem.
Below is the relevant sectionof the Log files for the shutdown process.
Any help will be highly appreiated in resolving this rather frustrating issues with Lion.

I tried to install Moonlight plugin version 3.9.9 (4 preview) on the latest version of Firefox. Error message is: "Novell Moonlight could not be installed because it is not compatible with with Firefox 6.0.2".
There isn't any versions of Moonlight that can be installed on Firefox 6.0.2.
Moonlight plugin worked very well with previous versions of Firefex.
Is it correct?
When Firefox 6.0.2 will become compatible with Moonlight plugin (or vice-versa)?Installation of Moonlight plugin fail on Firefox 7.0.1 because it is not compatible.
Found this, worked for me
I found an other way: download the compatibility Reporter addon. this addon makes firefox to ignore the compatibility of the addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/?src=api

I am trying to install Adobe Reader my wife's laptop but "installer" hangs up and fails with a blank black screen. The machine is capable and has a Vista OS. My wife blames the machine and wants to "throw it out." She's an idiot but I need to get this fixed.
run the cleaner (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs) and then retry installing.
