SAPGUI Java 7.20 and saplogon.ini of an old Windows GUI...

I changed Windows 7 for Ubuntu.
I installed the Java GUI (version 7.20): I would like to import my previous server list in the new GUI.
Using windows I have a saplogon.ini file, but I don't know if I can make it readable to the Java GUI
(a lot of servers there, most of them are not used anymore... but I would like to have the same list :-P).

You can found that in Linux in ~/.SAPGUI/connections file.

  • SAPGui 7.20 and SapLogon.ini Question

    We configure our install of SAPGui 7.20 to place a configured SAPLOGON.ini in C:\windows (WinXP).
    Upon first use that file is then copied (as 7.20 is designed to do) to C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\SAP\Common  for the individual user.
    So how do I go about resetting the "1st use" flag so that if I have updates to SAPLOGON.ini ... I can put the updated file in C:\windows .... and when the user starts SAPLogon the updated file will overwrite the one in their '\sap\common\ location"?

    Hello,
    We are using centrally located file for ini file distribution. So you do not need to worry about updating ini file in each and every PC
    What you need to do
    Add system environment variable as below..
    SAPLOGON_INI_FILE    =     \ \ <Shared location> \ <inifile>
    This will be the easy way to manage ini file.
    You can use multiple ini files for diffrent user groups from central location. And set this system environment variable through windows group policy.
    Please let me know if you have any question.

    If you have access to an Apple Store, the Genius Bar should be able to manually install a version that works with your Operating System.

  • SAPGUI Windows *.ini to SAPGUI Java config files?

    I have access to the files saplogon.ini, saproute.ini, sapmsg.ini from Windows SAPGUI and I'd like to use these under SAPGUI for Java.
    In the SAPGUI for Java, I can see where to put the saproute.ini and sapmsg.ini, but the puting the saplogon.ini into the 'Include Configuration File' , but does not yield any results (does not populate the SAPGUI picklist).
    As reference the saplogon.ini has the following format:
    [router]
    Item1=
    Item2=
    [server]
    Item1=
    Item2=
    [Database]
    Item1=
    Item2=
    [System]
    Item1=
    Item2=
    [Description]
    Item1=
    Item2=
    [Address]
    Item1=
    Item2=
    [MSSrvName]
    Item1=
    Item2=
    ...etc....
    Is there a way to convert this into a file that SAPGUI Java can understand?
    Any help would be welcome.  Thanks.

    Inside the Documentation for the SAPGUI for Java just look for
    7. Administrator Configuration
    There you find a description of the formats for the configuration files.
    and
    6. User Configuration -> Setting Configuration Files
    For SAPGUI for Java it's always a good idea to put the company wide configuration files like message server list onto a webserver.

  • Pushing saplogon.ini to Vista and XP

    Hi all, i'm using the nwsetupadmin tool to push SAPGUI and other fronend tools, however I'd like to push the saplogon.ini to Vista and XP machines, i tried to use the sample script at the "on end" but it didn't work. I think it's because Vista's saplogon.ini location is different than XP's location.
    Does anyone have a script or of a way to push it? We tried with a normal copy command but UAC on Vista machines blocks that.
    Thanks,
    Samer

    I do not think
    Tha't great idea

  • SAPGUI 7.20 - SAPLOGON.INI Appearance Mod - If possible

    Hello All,
        My sincere thanks to previous contributors for answering my basic questions so far.
        I've got a standard SAPLOGON.INI setup that will be deployed to all 24K SAPGUI users in my company.   I'm utilizing the Tree View as my default but I'd like to adjust the appearance of the saplogon itself and save that as a default.
        Here is the way my SAPLogon looks when you execute saplogon.exe -
    http://www.mediafire.com/i/?f7gc9wt39pzyoh2
        Here is the way I want it to look when an end user starts saplogon.exe -
    http://www.mediafire.com/i/?ho996bu6bljhk95
        Is this possible?
    Thanks and Regards,
    -Jeff-

    Jose,
        I tried every combination I could think of, including setting them all to a 0 and no luck.  The appearance of the SAPLOGON does not change as a result.  The Description Column still overlaps the Name column as displayed in my previous image link when I launch the SAPGUI.
        Now I did try this on my old test machine with SAPGUI 7.10 and yes, that worked like a charm.  It appears that utilizing the "Tree View" in SAPGUI 7.20, I can't get those changes to work by manipulating the registry.
        Again, with the SAPGUI 7.20, utilizing the "Tree View" I just want the Name column to be the only column displayed to the end user when they launch the SAPGUI.  That is, if that's possible.
        Thanks so much for your patience and back and forth on this!!  I really appreciate your time!!
    Regards,
    -Jeff-

  • Did anyone have saplogon.ini on another directory than c:\windows and how t

    Hi
    Did anyone have saplogon.ini on another directory than c:\windows and how to change it?

    Hi Tina,
    you can also put it in

  • Multiple "connections" files for SAPGUI Java 7.10

    Hallo folks,
    I have installed both SAPGUIs, the Java version and the native Win32 version. For my Win32 version i am used to use multiple SAPLOGON.INI files to separated the connections to my customers systems (i.e. one SAPLOGON.INI for each customer). Now i want to have the same for my Java SAPGUI.
    Is there a pendant to the "/INI_FILE" command line addition (Win32) for the Java version?
    Thx
    --MIKE

    Unfortunately, there seems to be no parameter like for SAPGUI Win. The solution i found is as follows:
    - i created several connections files, each for all my customers (e. g. "connections.cutomer1", "connections.customer2")
    - the connections file is referred to in the settings file. therefore, there needs to be a settings file for each customer, too (e. g. "settings.customer1", "settings.customer2"). The parameter @INCLUDE in the settings file points to the connections file to be used e. g. "settings.customer1" points to "connections.customer1", "settings.customer2" points to "connections.customer2").
    - i created a shell script for each customer (e. g. "sapgui.customer1.sh", "sapgui.customer2.sh"). this script copies "settings.customer1" to "settings" and start guilogon afterwards. guilogon evaluates the settings file and uses the connections file specified in the settings file.

  • C:windows\saplogon.ini file error

    Hi Experts,
    I have SAPGUI 7.10 systems and whenever I add new SAP Server in SAP Logon Pad, a corresponding entry is created in C:\WINDOWS\SAPLOGON.INI file.
    But in some system, part of file content is as below:
    Server
    Item1=
    Item2=XXXXX
    Item3=YYYYY
    Item4=AAAAA
    Item5=BBBBB
    where in xxx, yyyy,aaa,bbb are the application server IP.
    But here Item1= <space> as shown.
    For other user systems, item1 corresponds for first entry of logon pad as expected.
    Server
    Item1=XXXXX
    Item2=YYYY
    Item3=AAAA
    Item4=BBBBB
    And I am getting an error if I try at system with item1=<space>.
    Can you tell why this space is inserted on some system and not on others?
    Thanks
    Depesh.

    Hi,
    I am using sapgui 7.10 with patch level 14.
    There is a space shown in all the systems and this creating a problem while executing an SAP shortcut by saying no system description found as it tries to search for a description from saplogon.ini. even if it exists but with a space for item1.
    nobody has manually changed the saplogon.ini file.
    if i manually remove the space then add server list again or i copy the file with no space from somebody system then it works without error.
    But i cannot copy and replace this file if i have 1000+ user working on a solution having their saplogon.ini file with item1=space.
    Kindly suggest some automated process to ensure the space removal.
    thanks

  • SAPLOGON.INI within Standalone Installationpackage

    Hello,
    we used the SAP Installation Server Administration Tool to build our SAP Installation Packages.
    For the SAPLOGON.INI weu2019ve implemented a u201COn End Installu201D Script using the SAP Administration Tool, this script simply copies the file from a server and sets up the Systemvariable
    strSrcFile   = NwEngine.Variables.ResolveString("
    installationserver\packages$\SAP\SAPLogon\SAPLogon.ini")
    strDstFile   = "C:\windows\SAPLogon.ini"
    NwEngine.Shell.CopyFileEx strSrcFile, strDstFile, vbTrue
    NwEngine.Shell.SetRegValue "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\SAPLOGON_INI_FILE", "REG_SZ", "c:\windows\SAPLogon.ini"
    This script is working perfect, but during the rollout we found out that these script wont work if the client, which installs the Package, is not in the location of u201CInstallationserveru201D as per firewall rules the clients have no access from e.g. subsidiaries or VPN to this server.
    Is there a possibility to include the SAPLOGON.INI file in the standalone Installation package, or create the SAPLOGON.ini file during the installation process?
    We are using SAPGUI 7.20.
    Software Deployment Server is Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2.
    Client OS: Windows 7
    Thank you,
    Evelyn

    Hello Sven,
    We already created Single File Installer Packages for our SAP GUI / SAPBI GUI.(With the " SAPgui720_0-10007878GUIWINDOWSWIN32setupNwSapSetupAdmin.exe"´)
    The inclusion of the custom saplogon.ini was not part of the process.
    Iu2019ve read the CHM you pointed me to, but therefore I need to install the SAP Installation Server, is this correct?
    Is there no other way to do this..?
    As Iu2019ve never used SAP Inst Server before u2013 is this just a u201CProgram / Toolu201D that can be additionally installed on e.g. our Software Deployment Server, or a complete Server Administration toolkit which requires a single server for it?
    Thank you,
    Evelyn

  • Saplogon.ini in configurations files section of saplogonpad.

    Hello,
    We have SAP GUI 7.10 patch 19 installed. Our saplogon.ini file resides in the path c:\windows and is not explicitly set anywhere. An old PLM interface to Solidworks set the Windows USER environment variable to point to C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui by setting a value in SAPLOGON_INI_FILE, so nothing appears in the logonpad.
    If I remove this USER environment variable, the logonpad entries still appear blank. On further investigation, we see in the logonpad configuration screen (in the logonpad itself) a reference to a variable called saplogon.ini being set here in a section called configuration files.
    We have searched for this in the registry but cannot find it and therefore can't change it.
    Does anyone know how this gets set, where it is stored and how we can change it. Ideally we'd like to remove it completely, if possible.
    Thanks,
    Philip.

    Hello,
    I have solved this. The process also created a saplogoin.ini file in C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui which was blank. SAP GUI looks there before Windows.
    Thanks,
    Philip.

  • Saplogon.ini search order

    Good Afternoon.
    We are deploying SAP GUI 6.40 using sapgui server - and I need to have clients have a "search list" to look forcentral saplogon.ini locations.
    So far I've edited the GUIsetup.xml file on the sapgui server - and added the line :
    cmd="/ini_file=
    server\share\saplogon.ini"
    This works a treat - new client installations then look at this location for the saplogon.ini file (and not c:\windows)
    However, for resilience we want to add a second server string to the "search order".. I've tried just adding 2 lines e.g.
    cmd="/ini_file=
    server\share\saplogon.ini"
    cmd="/ini_file=
    server2\share\saplogon.ini"
    But it doesnt seem to check the second string when the first server is unavailable or if the saplogon.ini file doesnt exist.
    Can anyone advise how we do this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Jacky,
    Please run the following transaction:
    <b>CRM_SRV_REPORT - Service Process Monitor</b>
    In that under status & system status you can check the check boxes and execute same. You can see your desired orders.
    Please reward points if it helps.
    Best Regards,
    Johnny.

  • Saplogon.ini parameters

    Hi Expert,
    Note=99435 does not describe all the parameters of saplogon.ini. Could you show me all the explanation of the saplogon.ini 's parameters?
    Background:
    I use SAPGUI 7.2. and SAP ERP 6.0 unicode version. I want to use SAP in Japanese.
    I want to know the correct settings for CODEPAGE (1100?8000?) and EncodingID(Default_NON_UC?Default?)
    There are other parameters that are not described, such as Shortcutxxx...

    Hi Takako,
    Please refer link http://www.saptechies.com/saplogonini-file-format/
    for details on various parameters in saplogon.ini
    In case you want to use japanese language I would suggest the following settings
    Codepage: 1100 ( since your system is unicode)
    Encoding: Default. (since your system is unicode)

    This question doesn't appear to be at all Web Dynpro ABAP related.  Please post your questions in the correct forum in the future.

  • Regarding the file saplogon.ini

    Hi Gurus,
      I am facing a problem with saplogon.ini file .  when i am trying to open it  , it is popping up a message box --
            " The filename,directory name or volume label syntax is in correct" .
    Could you please help me  in finding out why it is happening and could you please provide me any solution for the above problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vikram Krishna.

    Hi,
    There seems to be some naming problem either with your harddisk volume name or directory. Please check this link http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/reskit/w2000Msgs/2993.mspx?mfr=true.
    Verify the same and try to open the saplogon.ini in notepad.
