SAPINST error Solution Manager 7.0

Hi Friends,
I encountered and error in when installing SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 in
iSereis. Here's the detailed error:

was executed with status ERROR ( Last error reported by the step

I ran SAPINST.EXE and select on "CUSTOM INSTALLATION"
Would you now any sap note to address the problem?

Thanks for reminding me. I resolved the problem by installing the following JAVA requirements as indicated in the SOLMAN Installation Master for the iSeries server:

Hi digeshjoshi,
      I check all the software that I'm using and is for a 64bit system, is correct because our machine is PARISK 64 bit.
Right now I'm using the SAPinst: SAPINST7001_4-20002035.SAR, I see that exist other one new but I don't think that's can be a problem.

I need an urgent assistence if any buddy can help me I would be very great full, I am receiving an error during the installation of SAP ERP 2004 SR1 IDES, ABAP system central instance as for this I have to give a key to SAPINST which I generated from Solution Manager 4.0 I striclty followed the same step which is defined in SAPNote 811923. But the SAPINST not accepting the key it gives me an error "SAP Solution manager key is invalid ".
So guys any idea how can I get rid of this

Hi Syed,
the installation asks you for 'central SAP system' which must match the string for 'message server' when generating the key in solution manager exactly. maybe you can double check if you used the correct hostname (not FQDN) and made no typo?...

Business Process Blueprinting Tool (BPB) Publish Error - Solution Manager 7.1 SP10

The company where I work recently implemented the SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 and now we are trying to learn how to use the SAP Business Process Blueprinting (BPB) Tool to design all enterprise processes inside it.
I followed all the steps of the official BPB installation guide and from another BPB discussion (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3258935) but the tool is not working properly. Some relevant points are:
I can create and publish Business Scenarios but can’t do the same with Business Processes
Business Scenario Created and Published:
Business Process created but not published, returning a connection error:
I don’t understand why the tool works for the Business Scenario level but not for the Business Process level. Could anyone help?

I solved both of my problems in BPB tool and would like to share with the community the solution.
Basically I recriated both logical ports in soamanager:
LP_SOCO_SOLAR
LP_SMSY
This solved all my problems detected in the tool.

The same issue has been solved in SCN Thread http://scn.sap.com/thread/3360385. As suggested in that note i am trying to look into the sap note
Note 1716201 - SYB:Update control.xml files for installation: Sybase ASE
in service market place but it is displaying as Document not released.
Kindly can any one help me in provind the above mentioned note or help me how to resolve this issue.

I HIGHLY recommend not using a 32bit operating system for Solution Manager, you will run into lots of problems and issues concerning memory usage and limitations of the 32bit platform.> 08.06.11 10:21:42 com.sap.inst.jload.Jload logStackTrace

It seems that the maximum memory on 32bit is reached already. Decrase the CACHESIZE of the database, restart the database and press "retry" in sapinst.
This will not be the only problem you will get, use a 64bit server and at least 8 GB memory for Solution Manager.

It seems that the maximum memory on 32bit is reached already. Decrase the CACHESIZE of the database, restart the database and press "retry" in sapinst.
This will not be the only problem you will get, use a 64bit server and at least 8 GB memory for Solution Manager.

The /usr/sap file system looks fine.
Could you also check the file space on the /tmp file system? This is usually less and SAPInst can fill this up very quickly.
Ideal to create a seperate SAPInst directory rather than use the default /tmp/sapinst_instdir.

Solution Manager Install Error

Hi All,
I'm trying to to a clean install of Solution Manager 4 on Windows Enterprise Server 2003 SP1, SQL Server 2005 SP1.
I've run the Pre-Installation Check and all is OK.
At Step 10 of 42, Create/modify database schema I'm getting an error:

We resolved the problem.
Problem:
Installation of 7.0 using MaxDb on Windows x64 hangs on the sapinst at the step CreateDbSchema..
There is no error in the installation log.
We are using the specified JDK (JAVA development kit) as specified by OSS Note 723909 which is downloaded from a special website of SUN.com.
We have tried uninstalling the other versions of the JDK build and tried other builds.
Solution:
By searching message boards for the specific error CreateDbSchema, one of the threads mentioned that passwords for MaxDb can't have special characters. Searching OSS yielded a Note 674430 which confirmed that installing on MaxDb has to use alpha-numeric. We were using an @. We dropped the database and deleted the user so it would be a clean install, and ran again using a different password. Some other cleanup was done too, but we suspect it was the password.

SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1 install on linux/oracle java error on ABAP IMPORT

Hello sdn experts, Im trying to install the Solution Manager 7.1 on linux/oracle, but It always stops at the abap import,
The error is in the Program "Migration Monitor", that exit with error.
Reviewing the logs, it seems that is trying to execute a java command line with a unrecognized option:
"Execution of the command "/opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/bin/java -classpath migmon.jar -showversion -Xmx1024m com.sap.inst.migmon.imp.ImportMonitor -sapinst" finished with return code 1. Output:
JVMJ9VM007E Command-line option unrecognized : -Xjvm:j9vm23"
Usage : java [-options] class...
As you can see, the sdk used is from IBM, and it works for all other saps we have here.
Is the wrong jdk? Which I should use if its wrong?
If is the right jdk, how could I get rid of this option and change it?

Error in creating Java Users during Solution Manager installation

Hi gurus,
First time trying to install SAP.
Red Hat Linux 4
Oracle
jdk 1.4.2_11
While installing the Solution Manager, it errored when it was creating Java Users, SAPJSF, J2EE_ADMIN and J2EE_GUEST.
The error description read "jco$exception: rfc_error_system_failure: invalid request".
I want to create these users manually and continue with the rest of process.
I searched lots of entries, notes, etc., but somehow, my "old" pair of eyes (and brains, too) failed to come up with something I could understand.
So, gurus, please help, help, help!!
There are no GUI version of anything installed, no Virtual Admin, no nothing like that. I have to rely on good old unix (Linux) command to do (add users) this.
Can you please, please post the instructions (step-by-step)? Please have a pity on me since this is my very first time dealing with SAP.

Creating users manually is not the intension of the SAP Installation tool. There are other solutions available
A good starting point is to check if SELinux is enabled or disabled. I've seen lots of broken installations on Red Hat because SELinux does not allow the installer to create users. Check if in /etc/selinux/config the setting
SELINUX=disabled
is set.
I see, that you are using JDK 1.4.2_11. Is this the Sun JDK? In case you are on x86_64 you have to use the IBM JDK instead. You can download it from <a href="https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/reg/download.do?source=lxdk&S_PKG=amd64142sr7&S_TACT=105AGX05&S_CMP=JDK&lang=en_US&cp=UTF-">here</a> .

Solution Manager 4.0 Installation Error

am doing the Solution Manager 40 installation on AIX as root.
FYI: We are using central SLD.
During the installation in phase 30 "check DDIC password"
Sapinst stops with the following error.
In sapinst.log the error is:

Solution Manager 4.0 SR2: Error during step 1 installPolicyArchive

I faced a really annoying problem in first step of Installation of a SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SR2 on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10.
The Installation hangs in Phase 1 installPolicyArchive.
I think i have passed all prerequisites before starting the Installation.
Perhaps for help:
i set the Environment Variables as follows:

Hello shareef,
there is no extra recommendation from SAP regarding SolMan on vmware.
SAP supports installations on vmware wheanwhile also for productive systems (plse check PAM).
The experience I have for my installation:
I works fine til now, no probs.
