SAPMMC tree disappear

Dear Expert,
My SAPMMC suddenly disappeared after restarting the server, i have tried to recover it by:
- adding snap-in, but it showed error when activating:
CAN NOT CONNECT TO SAP SERVICE on PORTAL01
WebService errror: 20
Unknown error
DCOM Interface error: 80070424
The specified service does not exist as an installed service.
- try to run startsap manually from command line (did not work), with command:
startsap.exe name=SLM nr=00 SAPDIAHOST=<host name> profile=d:/usr/sap/SLM/SYS/profile/START_DVEBMGS00_hostname
My questions:
1. How to recover SAPMMC without re-installing CI?
2. Proper command to startsap manually from command line.
3. What's the root cause for such problem? How to avoid this in the future?
Since this is solman system that urgently required, your assistance and advice are greatly appreciated.

I am facing a similar situation.
I had an EP 6 system installed only with the JAVA instance on Windows 2003 server with MS SQL. I had the installation and configuration successful.
I wanted to install SAPGUI in the server for accessing my R3 systems. After installing the SAPGUI, I had to restart the portal server. After this I am not able to find the SAP instance of the Portal system in the SAPMMC.
I tried all the suggestions mentioned by you in the above forum helping Rudi.
1. Starting the SAPSERVICES - SAP<SID>_00 & SAP<SID>_01
2. Changing the logon of the services after changing the logon userID from SAPService<SID> to <SID>ADM
3. Checking the Path to Executable for both the services.
4. Checking the share sapmnt and saploc and the access permissions for the same.
5. Starting the SAP System from the command line.
6. Starting the sapstartsrv.exe from the SAP Executables.
In the last try I got an error message mentioning that the DYNAMIC LINK LIBRARY LIBRFC32U.DLL COULD NOT BE LOADED.
When I searched for the dll file in the server, I found the same in the SAPGUI Installation CD Dump and no-where else.
Could the Installation of SAPGUI 7.10 in the server cause any user permission problems or file permission changes? I remember a message that appeared when I was installing the SAPGUI, it is mentioned below,
+Please switch your Terminal Server to install mode before running SAPsetup. You can do this using the commandline "change user /install" and reset to execute mode using "change user /execute" after installation.
Do you want to correct your server mode now?+
Please advice on the same. Could this cause any changes to the library file and pull down my server when it was restarted?
What should I do now to get back the instance in the SAPMMC.

MMC tree has dissappeared & so can't start XI server

Hello Friends
Our XI server was working perfectly all right before I left for vacation 10 days ago. But now when I re-started the MMC, I see just the parent node that says 'SAP Systems' and the whole tree structure under it has vanished. So now I can't restart the XI server.
I tried SDN forum's old posting and one of them was

As per the instructions there I tried to de-install the service and trying to re-install using the command 'sapstartsrv'.
According to the posting, I should be getting a succesfully installed message. But instead I get a pop up screen which says 'Service Not Started'.
Is there anything else that I should be doing? I would appreciate any feedback.

I didnt know that /usr/sap has to be mounted with proper sharing. Somehow this sharing had dissappeared. Another thing I noticed was that the work directory where log files are created was not getting updated at all. So all I did was to share this for people with admin rights.

Error opening communication channel tree

Hi,
i'm trying to open the comm channel tree in PI 7.1. When i click on the icon left to expand the tree i'm getting the error message
while trying to invoke the method com.sap.aii.ib.bom.gen.XiReference.getTypeId() of an object loaded from local variable 'xiReference'
Clicking on ok to acknowledge the error message the icon for the comm channels tree disappears.
I was not able to find an oss note for that. Does anybody has some information on how to solve that?

ADF Tree 11g column 100% to fit the avilable space in af:panelCollection

Hi All,
I want to stretch the tree column to fit all the available space in af:panelCollection. I ve changed its InlineStyle to width:100% but its is suggesting to use StyleClass to AFStretchWidth. I tried both the options but didn't achieve desired output.
Any hint or suggestion will be highly appreciated.

I have tried various options but in vain.
A clarification is that I have a page having ADF query panel with tree table. I don't want to show the other columns in the result. Just tree is enough to display the contents.
I want to maximize the tree column to fit into the available space of af:panelCollection.
Option 1. I set the styleClass to AFStretchWidth for af:column of the ADF tree. It didn't work.
Option 2. I encapsulated af:column of the tree into the f:center facet of af:panelStretchLayout and set af:panelStretchLayout styleClass to AFStretchWidth. The af:column of the tree disappeared. No output.
Option 3. I encapsulated af:treeTable into the f:center facet of af:panelStretchLayout. It is giving error that af:panelStretchLayout is not a valid child of af:panelCollection, so it also didn't work.
Option 4. I encapsulated af:panelCollection into the f:center facet of af:panelStretchLayout. It also didn't work.
Any thing I am missing ... Any other option to try out.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Javascript error for detailed navigation tree : 't' is undefined

I have a problem on my anonymous role. When i click on the link page of a km navigation IView in the detailed navigation tree, the IView open itself but the navigation tree disappear and i have a Javascript error :

Parts of menu, content of table and tree not displayed

Hello,
often I use a certain application running on Java 1.5.0_05 - without any problems - on Windows XP. Recently I used this application on another PC (same application version, same Java version, same OS). Suddenly some menu items disappeared, instead of them I only saw some hyphens. A table content suddenly appeared empty, although it was filled with a lot of records. A tree disappeared partly and only some black squares were seen at the table nodes. If I click on a part of the view, sometimes all the disappeared elements suddenly were visible again, but only for short time. Afterwards they disappeared again.
What may be the reason for this strange behaviour?
How can this problem be avoided/resolved (by a users point of view, not a developper's)?

OWB 11g Can't make 'profile objects tree' visible in Data Profiling Screen

When I first did a data profile in the Data Profile Editor the left side of the screen contained the 'Data Objects Tree' and two lower panes which were the 'Property Inspector' and the 'Monitor Panel'.
Then when I maximized the 'Property Inspector' the 'Data Objects Tree' disappeared and now I can't seem to get it back. I tried turning all the windows on and off via the WINDOWS menu and I maximize and minimized all the windows and played around with anything I could. But I still can't ge the 'Data Objects Tree' to appear. How do I do this? Thanks.

Thanks very much! You're a life saver. I edited the file and my panes have reappeared. This malfunctioning of Oracle's windows first happened when I maximized the Property Inspector and I will be sure never to try that again.
Gotta wonder out loud- how is it possible that OWB would have such a major malfunction like this which the users must solve by reaching into the bowels of OWB to tweak a remote setting?

If I call treeStructureChangedI have no idea what you are doing. You should never call that method. The DefaultTreeModel will fire the appropriate events when the model is changed telling the view to repaint itself.
Read the JTree API and follow the link to the Swing tutorial o "How to Use Trees" for a working example.
If you need further help then you need to create a Short, Self Contained, Compilable and Executable, Example Program (SSCCE) that demonstrates the incorrect behaviour.

Removing an unwanted part of a foto

Hi there,
i recently took a photo for a launch event and to the foregroung of the shot is a symbol that was marked out on the ground.
The question i have is how does one remove this unwanted part of the photo using Aperture 3? Is it possible?

You can remove elements of photos that are undesirable, but there are limitations.
Aperture has both a 'repair' and 'clone' tool -- but the tool is mostly intended to remove items which are either small or thin. It's mostly used to remove things such as blemishes and wrinkles. But I've also used it to remove power lines (in outdoor photos) and power cords (in indoor photos), etc.
It doesn't work well for removal of very large items. E.g. if I had a picture with a large tree in it, I'd probably have a very hard time making the whole tree disappear -- on the other hand, removing a stray limb would probably be easy.

[Resolved]how to configure htop / conky show entire chromium usage?

So I prefer chromium to firefox, and understand that it runs each tab as individual processes.
Is there a way to have conky, htop, and other task manager type apps to wrap all chromium instances into one line?
For example, in htop, you can switch to tree mode and manually hit '+' on the top of the chromium tree and it does what I ask, but I can't find a way to force all trees to roll up, and the tree disappears if you sort a column.
Further in conky, I like the top 5 mem usg app list that you see commonly, but it always has 4 chromiums in the list. I'd like to program it to show just one per application.
I know this is the old windows user talking in me, but is there a task manager that will collapse all threads into each individual process. So I can just see 5 apps in my list instead of 100.

Dig it, thank you for the help. I know htop already has a feature request to collapse all trees and allow sorting in tree mode. Hopefully that comes out someday. As for conky, the novelty is wearing off and I've actually shrunk the amount of info I put on there. LXtask shows a less cluttered process list - similar to what windows users are used to. I guess I just need to learn more advanced python scripting and make my own brown-top.
That of course is the beauty of the opensource world, if it doesn't do what you need, write the program yourself and contribute. Marking as solved.

Hallo Josue,
deployable object names (correspond to Web Dynpro DCs) are named like this:
<vendor-name>/<name segment 1>~<name segment 2>...
Example:
DC-name: sap.com/wd/test/ui
Deployable Object Name: sap.com/wdtestui
You can list all deployed DC via the telnet console of your SAP J2EE engine:
1) Open telnet via SAPMMC: tree node <system name> - <hostname> - open context menu and then select item All Tasks -> Telnet
2) enter login and password
3) enter jump 0
4) enter "add deploy"
5) enter shell command "list_app"
You can then see all deployed applications/dcs with their deployable object names.
