Hiiiiii, I have had a problem in the installation of the SAPNETWEAVER, which happens that inmediatamnete I give the route of jce_policy-1_4_2 (C:\j2sdk1.4.2_12\jre\lib\security\jce_policy-1_4_2.zip) and give Next goes out a mistake:

Hi Paola
The path your providing is wrong.You have provided the path for JCE policy (C:\j2sdk1.4.2_12\jre\lib\security\jce_policy-1_4_2.zip) .Ideally this JCE shld be outside ur JDK. So copy the JCE policy somewhere else may be in ur D drive and then give the path of JCE when asked during installation.
Can you tell me from where you downloaded the JCE policy?
The JCE policy is not included in your JDK.You have to download it from sunmicrosystems website.This JCE is in zipped format.Do not unzip it.Just give its path during the installation.This JCE has to kinds of jar local_policy.jar and us_export_policy.jar

Hi Stefan,
It depends upon which it scenario you are choosing, for example whether it is ABAP or ABAP + JAVA , usage types ( EP / BI / PI / MI.. etc) you have selected, and so on ... You can use Installation Guide to calculate minimum required space for different scenarios.
Blank installation of ECC 6.0 system takes around 73 GB of space.

IDES ERP 2004 installation / Solution manager

I am about to install IDES ERP 2004 on a test desktop system and I would like to know if I also need to install solution manager, any suggestions?

You can find the guide for ERP 2004 installation at
http://service.sap.com/instguides -> ERP 2004. Its
the same as a DB instance isntallation. You just have to
provide the IDES DVDs. No need to install the solution manager.

Why does ERP 2004 installation fill up 30G of SQL data?

Step 2 of mySAP ERP 2004 installation is to create "database instance." I just finished doing that (after running it overnight). Now I see that the installation has taken up 30G of SQLServer database space.
C:\SIDData1 - 10G
C:\SIDData2 - 10G
C:\SIDData3 - 10G
C:\SIDLog - 2.5G
I am a novice when it comes to SAP installations. This actually is my first successful installation. However, I am just curious on what the heck is being stored in the database that takes up this much space. More importantly, is there anything I can do to reduce the footprint? Are there things I can safely get rid of?

Among the alternatives not mentioned... Using a TiVo DVR, rather than the X1; a Roamio Plus or Pro would solve both the concern over the quality of the DVR, as well as providing the MoCA bridge capability the poster so desperately wanted the X1 DVR to provide. (Although the TiVo's support only MoCA 1.1.) Just get a third-party MoCA adapter for the distant location. Why the hang-up on having a device provided by Comcast? This seems especially ironic given the opinions expressed regarding payments over time to Comcast. If a MoCA 2.0 bridge was the requirement, they don't exist outside providers. So couldn't the poster have simply requested a replacement XB3 from the local office and configured it down to only providing MoCA bridging -- and perhaps as a wireless access point? Comcast would bill him the monthly rate for the extra device, but such is the state of MoCA 2.0. Much of the OP sounds like frustration over devices providing capabilities the poster *thinks* they should have.

Hi,
Thank you very much for giving me the check list at the end !!!! I have completed the part1 installation successfully.
When I click Start > All Programs > SAP MMC console.
J2E Node is displayed. When I expand it, I see two instances SAP00(green),SAP01(yellow).
When I try to access http://localhost:50100/irj/portal I read the following:
Application stopped.
Details: You have requested an application that is currently stopped
please help me what to do next..
How to recheck if the following items are also installed ?
1)Visual Composer.
2)Content Management and Collaboration.
3)SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence Java SDK.
4)Interactive Forms based on Adobe Software.
5)Composite Application Framework.
When I installed previously part1 finished successfully, when I clicked on Start > All Programs only SAP MMC was listed. What is the conclusion from this ?

Netweaver 2004S installation on Windows 2003 server : Oracle 10g Problem

Hi Friends,
I am installing the SAP Netweaver 2004s on a server which has Windows 2003 server Operating system on it.
It has got 6GB RAM and has, 5gb of free space in C drive, H: drive has 70 gb and I: drive has 50 GB of free space in it.
I am running Pre_requiste checker tool to check my hardware & software requirements in order to go ahead with installation, as a part of SAPInst.exe execution.
The results of Prerequisite checker tool are satisfied except for one " SWAP SPACE VALUES"
I am getting the message as follows
"The Minimum SWAP SPACE values required is 10994MB and currently you have 5993MB"
How to increase this SWAP space value? Please let me know the procedure.
Currently my server has a paging file details as below : Min size : 2MB & Max size : 9214MB allocated on C: drive. No other drive has paging file allocation.
What effect will I have if i proceed without meeting this requirement??

this error simply comes, because the architecture of your computer is not the same as the one from the test drive. As I'm not sure, which architecture the N4S test drive uses, we simply have one of the following situations here. Either
your machine is x86_64 and the N4S is i386 or
your machine is i386 and the N4S is x86_64.

Netweaver 2004s installation problem on Windows: Oracle 10G

I would like to install Netweaver 2004S(with usage types AS ABAP, AS JAVA, BI, BI JAVA, EP & DI) on a server which has Windows 2003 server OS running on it.
The server has 6GB RAM and has 5GB of free space on C: and a free sapce of 60GB on H: & 50GB on I: respectively.The database that is to be used is Oracle 10g.
Do I need to install first SAP solution manger 4.0 on this or Can i proceed with Netweaver 2004 S installation???
I am installing a central system.
First I tried installing SAP solution manger 4.0 on this system and it went successfully. Now when i am installing Netweaver 2004s on the same machine, during installation I am asked whether to "install a MCOD or create a new database for this installation".
I chose Install MCOD and proceeded further with Installation. But my installation is taking a lot of time while executing the service :"Creating database schema". The message which i get on status bar is " Removing schema user SAPSR3" and the status remains the same.
Have any of you faced this problem ? Please let me know how you have proceeded further.
Before starting the installation one of the prerequisites " SWAP SPACE VALUES" for installation was not satisfied by my system and even then i proceeded with the installation.
Is it because of this SWAP space problem , my intsallation is strcuk?? or what could be the reason fo this?

Hello Diwakar,
If you are just installing NW2004s then it is not mandatory to install Solution manager.
To increase the swap space --
Right click my on computer ->Select Properties -> Click Advanced Tab ->Click Settings (performance) -> Select Advanced Tab -> In virtual memory -> Change
you canIncrease swap space/page file here.
Do not install the system as MCOD, make the seperate database.
Do revert for further doubt.

Netweaver 2004S Installation stops in phase 'Create Java Users'.

We have an error in the installation of Netweaver 2004s on an Solaris X64 10 (64 bit). We have j2sdk1.4.2_13 (32 bit installed)
In phase 'Create Java Users' , we receive the following error in dev_UserCheck.clone :

I think this is an java error.
We can't find a download for the 64 supplementation package for solaris
X64. Is this supported?

Hi Serge,
I'm no Solaris expert, but if I'm not mistaken, JRE and JDK versions for the X64 platform are only available as of version 1.5. It's worth a try, you can run them both at the same time on the same server. Just point your JAVA_HOME to the 1.5 directory after installation and start SAPinst again.

Where did you get the j2sdk1.4.2_11 for x64? I'm now starting a NW04s installation on x64 and SAP note 941595 presents a link to the SUN web site, but the link is not correct and results in an error. So I can not go on with the installation since I don't have the correct J2SDK.

Installing Office 2004 - installer quiting

OK - I tried to uninstall the test drive version prior to installing Office 2004. I used the Remove utility and it did not detect any versions of Office....so I just dropped the complete folder in the trash and emptied it.
Now, trying to install, I select the Installer Assistant...it runs for about 10 seconds and then quite...disapears from the dock.
I re-ran the uninstaller from the CD and still will not work.
Looking for a bone.

To elaborate...after dragging the folder, when I open an app, like Word, it bounces in the dock for about 5-seconds and then disapears. Nothing will open.

When i tried to log on to ABAP instance following short dump is came and it is coming for each transaction

SAP Netweaver 7 (2004) installation guide

I am trying to install SAP Netweaver 7 (2004) in my desktop. But I am
having problems with it. I do not know how to create a DDIC user and its password. At the last phase of installation it is trying to perform a test logon with DDIC user but failing. I am sure with my system hardware requirements. Can anybody give me a solution, or give me a installation guide which can help me to make it through ?

Hi,
DDIC is a default user.No need to create it.Its password is the master password that you should have given during the time of installation or you can give the password 19920706 which is defined by SAP.
DDIC is mainly for working Transport Mnagement System(TMS).

Some users have reported success with obtaining older installers by following the directions listed at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369. If you are successful I would recommend making a back up of the install files in case you need them again in the future.

MySAP ERP 2004 Installation with MS SQL server database

Hi all,
I m trying to perform the DB instance of mySAP ERP 2004 on a MS SQL Server, but during the process of SAPSSEXEC
the my MS SQL server stops and I the SAPSSEXEC.log files ends up with a fatal error:DB connection failed.
I stoped and restart the installation but the same error repeats. Can anybody try to help me out in this regard.

I am facing the same problem as you:
I have been installing ECC5 SR1. The Centrale Instance installation happened very well.
The problem is with The Database installation. At the phase 16 of 29, Database load, the R3load jobs take more than 21 hours and often finish with the following sql error message in the log files:
