  • Captivate 4 AS2 Text Entry Box not working with Flash Player 11

    I am having issues with text entry boxes not working at all in flash 11. I am using Captivate 4 and exporting an AS2 swf. When you get to the slide you can type but you cannot see anything nor does the button or keystroke to move on. Also there is no cursor. Any ideas?

    You said it is not working with Flash 11, so does that mean you tested with previous version and that worked?
    While publishing choose Flash player as 9 and publish that, verify if that plays in a compatible web browser.
    AS 2 is a legacy scripting, it has been said not too be supported with even Flash Player 10 --
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS2LCR/Flash_10.0/help.html?content=Part2_AS2_LangRef_1.html
    I believe if you switch back to version 9 while publish your project, it should work.

  • CISCO Box not working with Infrared Remove Control Repeater

    There was an Infrared Remote Control Repeater set-up in my newly purchased house.  It works for my LG DVD player, but does not work with my CISCO CHS435HDB box.  Are there any work around for this?  Should I change to a different box?

    If you are using a repeater, make sure the piece that is relaying the IR signal is pointing directly the font of the Cisco box and nothing is plugged into the IR input port in the back of the box.

  • Text Entry Box not working right??

    This is strange…. If anyone has any thoughts…
    that would be great.
    I have a slide that tests someone's knowledge for inputting
    into a text entry box. I want to give them 2 tries for doing this
    task - and if they don't perform the task correctly, I want an
    error message to display. However, I want the error message to be
    different based on the 1st time that they try and the second time.
    The method to accomplish this.. I have done many times, and has
    always worked. However, for some reason, it's not working this
    time.
    In order to customize the error message based on whether it's
    the 1st try or the second - I have created 2 text entry boxes.
    The first text entry box is set to display at 0 seconds, is
    set to display for 2 seconds and is set to pause after 1.5 seconds.
    If the user enters a successful text entry the user will be
    navigated to the next slide, if the user enters an incorrect text
    entry they will continue on the same slide and a failure caption is
    selected to display (this is the first error message that displays
    for the first try.)
    The second text entry box is set to display at 2 seconds, is
    set to display for 2 seconds and is set to pause after 1.5 seconds.
    If the user enters a successful text entry the user will be
    navigated to the next slide, if the user enters an incorrect text
    entry they will continue on the same slide. No failure caption is
    selected to display. This is the important point... I have not
    selected for a failure caption to display for this text entry box.
    I have a text caption that displays at 4 seconds - this is
    the second error message that the user will see if they input an
    incorrect text entry into the second text entry box.
    Everything seems to work fine except... for some reason, when
    I enter an incorrect text entry into the second text entry box, I
    get the failure message that I set for the first text entry box.???
    Very strange. I have recreated this 3 times - each time it works.
    Then, all of a sudden, it stops working. I’ve even tried
    recreating the movie from scratch… but same results.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Lynn

    Hi again
    Okay, makes sense. I suppose in this case, I'd simply use
    another slide. From what you have explained, it would appear there
    is a possible issue Captivate is having with multiple text entry
    boxes on the same slide.
    So I would insert a slide following the existing slide. Then
    on failure of the first text entry box, direct to the next slide.
    On success of the first text entry box, skip over the new slide to
    the proper "continue" slide.
    Hopefully that makes sense... Rick

  • Box not working, told must wait 12 days for engine...

    I have a very old BT Vision box and over the last few weeks it's been slowing dying.  At least three times it completely erased all the recordings saved.  We would re-set it to factory settings and just carry on using it, but after about a week it would wipe the memory again.
    I called the helpline to report the issue last week and the call agent was rude and patronising.  I explained the issue but he seemed to not understand me.  He asked 'Does it not allow you to record or does it not let you watch the recording?'.  I said, again, it does neither of those things, it works mostly fine but occasionally wipes the entire memory.  He tried again, this time speaking loudly and slowly as if to a particularly difficult child, 'No, does it not let you record, or does it not let you watch the recordings?'.  I explained again, and he then asked me to reset the box.  I explained, again, that I'd already done this several times and he said: 'Well that's why you've lost your recording then'.  After another 5 minutes of going around in circles (and re-setting the box once more) he went away for quite a while and then came back and asked if the recordings that had been deleted had had an exclamation mark next to them.  I ended up hanging up on him.
    Anyway, I no longer have the option of ignoring the issue because the thing is obviously on its last legs.  It has since stopped and started mid-way through recording things (and then deleted them several hours later), frozen several times whilst on both BBC iPlayer and ordinary television, and made strange grinding noises.
    I phoned again today and was told that they couldn't send me a new box, but rather I would have to have an engineer.  This seems a waste of time given how ancient the box is but I said ok.  They then told me the first date the engineer could get out was 28/12.  I said I thought this was disgusting but was told there was nothing sooner.  I know it's only television, but not having a working TV over Christmas is a real inconvenience and really not what you expect when you're paying this much money.

    The video preview box is blank and does not work with downloaded videos.  Tried deleting com.apple.iMovie8.plist and running disk Utility to repair disk permissions, but did not work.
    Thanks for any suggested fixes.

    richardj15,
    Try restarting your Mac and seeing if that resolves the issue. If that doesn't work, go to the menu bar and choose Apple > Software Update... . There may be an important iMovie update you've missed.

  • Breakout box not working

    b? Hi. I have both a li've platinum and an audigy platinum. The card bit works fine, but no matter which one I use in my PC, I cant get the front box to work.
    I think I've forgotten to connect something important. There's an IDE style cable running from the front box to the sound card, and the game port link (from the box in the li've, from the card in the audigy) and there's a bit that connects the card to the CD player, but there's also a bit on both front boxes with 4 gold spikes in a row. I think I should connect this to something. Is it for power? or data? or is it irrelevent?
    I found a cable on a completely different sound card with 4 holes in a row that fits this connection. The other end also has 4 holes that look a bit closer together. I can't find anywhere on the soundcard for it to go. Does it connect to the motherboard maybe?
    Anyway, can anyone help? I just got myself a guitar and some effects, and I can't use them.

    What it was was that there is a bit of plastic the seperates the pins of the floppy disk power connection at the end of the PCB (part of the sound card). It had slid forward and was not allowing the power connector to attatch fully.
    I just pushed the plastic bit all the way back and then put the connector on and it worked.
    Happy days.
    Cheers

  • Quantity Box not working

    When I check the part -> details -> "quantity box" for a product line master part, it does not work correctly when I add to cart.  I just get qty of 1 instead of the qty I put in.  It works fine with non-product line master parts.  It this supposed to work?

    Hi Stephen
    This should actually be hidden and this is the bug. The idea behind PLM's is they are a representation of an array of items that get added to the cart. I can see how this is confusing.
    Take a look at the partdetail.aspx file and find the line that intanciates the prodlineblock control
    <asp:Content ContentPlaceHolderID="prodlinegrid" ID="plgblock" runat="server">
    <np:ProdLineBlock ID="prodLine" runat="server" Visible="False" ShowPartType="False" ShowPartNo="True" ShowInventory="False"
    ShowPrice="True" ShowThumbnail="True" ShowAddToCart="True" ShowQuantity="False"></np:ProdLineBlock>
    </asp:Content>
    Set the ShowQuantity="True"
    This will show a quantity text box for each child.

  • Webkit select box not working...

    Hi folks,
    I'm trying to create a simple select box in an air application, and while the select box is populated, it will not drop down. It just flashes and then rolls back up.
    The select box on the following simple page fails:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    <html>
        <head>
            <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
            <title>Untitled Document</title>
        </head>
        <body>
            <select name="myselect" id="myselect">
                <option value="1">1</option>
                <option value="2">2</option>
                <option value="3">3</option>
            </select>
        </body>
    </html>
    What is the trick to getting these select boxes to work properly in webkit? I can use my arrow keys to traverse up and down the options in the select list, but that's not really good enough. I want it to work properly.
    Any ideas what the heck is going on?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Okay, I've got an update on this problem.
    Just to test this against another platform that uses the webkit engine, I tried the following code in Safari 4.0.4 for Windows:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    <html>
        <head>
            <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
            <title>Untitled Document</title>
        </head>
        <body>
            <select name="myselect" id="myselect">
                <option value="1">1</option>
                <option value="2">2</option>
                <option value="3">3</option>
            </select>
        </body>
    </html>
    ... and even though the select box isn't inside a proper form tag, the code still works just fine. In fact, I tested the following code too:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    <html>
        <head>
            <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
            <title>Untitled Document</title>
        </head>
        <body>
            <form name="myselect">
                <select name="myselect" id="myselect">
                    <option value="1">1</option>
                    <option value="2">2</option>
                    <option value="3">3</option>
                </select>
            </form>
        </body>
    </html>
    ... and this ALSO works perfectly fine.
    However the same simple code fails miserably in AIR 1.5. Does anyone have a clue why that is? Again, should I upgrade to AIR 2.0 beta? A google search for problems with webkit and select boxes has returned nothing helpful. I'll check this forum again, but so far I've not gotten anything helpful here either.
    Is nobody using AIR with straight HTML/JavaScript/AJAX? Is that why no one has been able to help me? Is *everybody* using Flex? I'm getting a bit frustrated at this point.

  • Broken Footer & Sign In Box Not Working...

    Hello again, Dreamweaver Support Board, it's been awhile. I have a new problem that I'm dealing with on a new site that I am setting up. I have a feeling the solution is this is very simple, but I'm just not seeing it...
    This is a site that has been worked on alot before I took up the job of cleaning up the html coding and constructing a new design layout and template for it... So far so good, but I do have a long ways to go until this thing is in tip top and organized shape...
    My issue today is that the footer on the page of memberscorner.htm is broken, detached from the side bar on the left:
    http://restorationacpc.com/memberscorner.htm
    Also on that page, I cannot seem to get the login box to work. I transfered over everything (or so I thought) from the old coding to see if I could reconstruct it, but when testing it and putting in the account & password it does nothing at all. The same issue is happening on the ilogin.htm:
    http://restorationacpc.com/ilogin.htm
    Is there something I'm getting wrong in the html that is making this so it cannot function?
    Here is the home address link to my test page for this site:
    http://restorationacpc.com/

    Oh, wow, you're mixing some strange layout elements here, tables with nested <div> tags using fixed positioning.
    Move the footer div out of the table for starters.
    That will allow you to position it correctly. Keep in mind, width:100% means "100% of the parent element". If you want the footer to be 100% of the browser window, you need to move it outside of anything else with a pixel width setting.
    I think that will likely get you to where you want to be with that particular element.
    You have a bunch of errors in your html that are causing problems...
    http://validator.w3.org
    Some big ones are you have multiple links  that go to your hard drive, not to a file on the web. They'll appear to work locally, but will not work online for anyone who doesn't have those files in those locations on their machine.
    Verify you have a Site Definition set up correctly...
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-dreamweaver-cs5/gs01-defining-a-new-site/
    Without that crucial first step, you're going to have many, many more problems to come.
    As for the form, you have no <form> tag, which is generally used to send the information to a script or email address. If that exists in the original page, you definitely need to add that in.

  • Captivate 7 - Multiple Click Boxes not working

    I would really appreciate some help on this. I've been reading the forums and it looks like this pops up again and again. I've tried some of the solutions, but I can't seem to make it work.
    I have a slide with 8 click boxes on it. I would like for the user to click on box and then get a definition in the form of a text box. I'd like for them to be able to click on 1 box or all the boxes before they move on. I'd like for them to choose to move on with a "Continue" button that goes to the next slide.
    On the preview playback, only 3 or 4 of the click boxes will work. Then, the click boxes stop working. It's not the same 3 or 4 boxes, but just the first ones that work. If I remove a pause on the continue button, it will work. Otherwise, it stops as well.
    Initially, I tried to do this as a simple action. Then, I read that Advanced Actions will allow the playback to continue. The Advanced Action is 1 line that is Show and then the Text Box.
    Below is my timeline. I'd appreciate help with this!

    Did you see this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5826235#5826235 ?
    What is the function of the Buttons on that slide (they have no pausing, are active all the time): especially the Last Attempt action?
    What is the Last Attempt action for the click boxes?
    Important: how did you preview?

  • Bounding Box Not Working

    I'm using Illustrator CS4.  The bounding box will not appear.  I have tried switching between show/hide bounding box with no luck.  I tried alt,shift,ctrl at start, did not fix it.  Is there a known issue with the bounding box or am I just the lucky one that is having problems?  Sometimes if I close Illustrator and restart the program, the bounding box will appear, however this has not worked in the last 20 or so times I have tried.
    Help!   Thanks -Keith

    Keith,
    You may try to Move the folder for a change, with Illy closed.

    Sounds like a bad cable.  If you have a splitter at the bad location, try removing it.  I would also try the suspect box in the working location to confirm both boxes are good. Then you have to decide if you want to try fixing the cable yourself or pay Verizon to do it.
