It won't run "on" Mountain Lion as it is a new OS. It will replace Mountain Lion. While pricing hasn't been announced, I doubt it will be free.

How has Apple honoured buyers of other releases of OS X immediately before a new version was announced?

I recently (4 days ago) bought a Mac mini server with 10.7 lion; will I qualify for a free upgrade to Mountain Lion Server?
Mtn Lion not due out until the Summer, so no, you will not get a free upgrade. -
I am running OSX 10.4.11 on my iMac; Firefox automatically updated to version 12, and now it will not run on my computer.
Is there a way to deinstall the new version while keeping my saved bookmarks, etc?
If not, how do I deinstall 12 and reinstall the older version of Firefox that worked with my operating system?
Thanks.[[Firefox no longer works with Mac OS X 10.4 or PowerPC processors]].
You can install Firefox 3.6 from [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]. Please keep in mind that not only is Firefox not receiving any updates (thus rendering it insecure), neither is Mac 10.4 or any of the plugins used on it. Running such an old Operating System is dangerous to your information's security on the internet. something for you to keep in mind. -
Since installing OS X Lion, I get a message every time I open Safari that states "Community toolbar-We're sorry, but the Safari browser version you are currently using does not support the community toolbar." I am using version 5.1. How do I get rid of this message?
Delete the app, add-on, or extension that loaded the community toolbar. Try a search for community toolbar to learn the details.

Flashplayer by adobe...will it run on Mt. lion?
Just after purchasing Mt. Lion, but before it started downloading, I was asked to uninstall adobe flashplayer from my iMac. So will that be a permanent thing, just like on the iPhone where adobe flash is not allowed? ....I immediately paused the Mt. Lion download until I could find out from you the answer to this question. I love kabam games and most run on the dreaded adobe flashplayer. So, I'm hoping you'll say they I can download adobe flashplayer again after I install mt. lion. But if you say, no, FlashPlayer will not run on Mt. Lion.....then I may have to give up my addiction to facebook/kabam games. ...cringe....
Although roaring apps says that the compatibility with Adobe flash player in 10.8 is unknown..
http://roaringapps.com/app:73
However folks who have used the beta versions have seen flash working fine with Mt. Lion... If there is a problem with flash, then youtube.com may stop working in the first place on Safari..
The messageyour are getting may be temporary .. I would suggest try that once, if flash really doesnt work with Mt Lion, you can be sure of Adobe releasing updates within a day ot two.. -
How can i update my old 2006 iMac Intel core 2 duo running 10.6.8 to OSX Lion so that I can sync using iCloud with my newer devices? Mountain Lion is not an option for my older model and Lion is no longer available at App store.
Call Apple's online store's telesales agents: 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) or Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775. For Lion you'll get a redemptions code via e-mail and need to DL from the Mac Apple Store (requires SL 10.6.6+).

I just upgraded to mountain lion osx and now my applications are crossed out and out of date. they will not run. how do i fix this?
Here is a recent post I assembled for a similar question:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
2. If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
3. Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions if they are available, or find alternative software that will open, modify and save your data files;
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:

by mistake i ereased my mackbook pro's disk. and when is restared it recovery page opened. and i did not purchase the osx mountain lion. do i have any other way to recory it without purchasing the copy of osx. ?can i do it using a usb having image file of mountain lion?
Did you buy your machine second-hand? That's really the only way you would have to purchase OS X 10.8.x from the App Store... but, yes, if you have a USB thumb drive with a bootable installer (such as made with Lion DiskMaker) you can boot from that and reinstall OS X.

There is nothing to overcome, your mac is too old to run Mountain Lion. For an iMac it must be a (Mid 2007 or newer) http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/ -
I just bought a new iMac and I am new to the Desktop Mac. I read you can get a free upgrade to Mountain Lion if you bought your computer after June 11, 2012. Do I have to do something before Mountain Lion is released? If so What? Thanks
Just check in with this link when ML is released for instructions on how to claim your upgrade.

I believe that I deleted some important files from the utilities section.
Im interested to upgrade my Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.
If I do so, will OS X Mountain replace my deleted files?
At the moment I'm running Mac OS x 10.6.8Yes, if it is something that was installed as part of OSX to start with. If you're missing Onyx, well that isn't part of Apple's software and you'll have to get it from the source.
Depending upon the significance of the application there are ways do a custom installation of software rather than the whole operating system. I use a much older operating system version so I cannot be very reliable on the specifics. -
Free OS X Mountain Lion if i brought it in December in 2012?
Hey guys.
I've heard, if i brought my MacBook Pro after a specific date, i would get a free OS X Mountain Lion.
Is that right and where do I get it if it's right?Yes, if you bought from Apple or an authorized dealer.

I believe you have to claim within 30 days of your Mac purchase though.

yes.http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate/
It shows up as $19.99 on the app store.
Really? That's strange since Apple hasn't announced a release date and it's not actually available for download in the app store.
