Sat here for hours and still cannot connect to the internet

Hi there,
I have been sat here now about around 6 hours trying to figure this out. I just bought a Philips SNA6500 ADSL Wireless Base Station to connect to the internet. I am at present using my speedtouch usb modem to connect. I have tried and tried to connect to no avail. I am on BT Broadband and put in all my details on Internet Connect, but it continuously states that it can not connect to the PPP Server. It connects via Ethernet, but wont load any websites at all.
Sorry if this has been posted before, I have checked through most of the posts and couldn't find anything.
Thank you for any help if anyone knows - I really hope they can!

I dont know the Philips SNA6500 but from a brief Google it would appear that it has an ADSL modem built in. Why are you using the Speedtouch? Where have you got it plugged in? Disconnect the Speedtouch, plug the Philips into a filter, then plug the filter into your phone socket. Follow the set up wizard and it should work.

If not this:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.

A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

Then:
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? See other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Use the Airport Utility or log into your wireless device via http and ensure the DHCP/NAT service is enabled. If accessing via HTTP, you will need to manually set an ip within your local subnet (eg: 192.168.0.x).

I have 2 Apple TV's in my home. One is 2nd Generation and the other is 3rd Generation. One one that is 2nd Gen cannot connect to the internet. First I restarted, the I rest it and I even changed the password. still no connection. So I purchased the 3rd Gen TV and I have to same problem, but they are in different rooms. Before I had no problem with my 2nd Gen TV, but then one day it did not connect. I even had my internet provider come and check my internet and it worked ok, but no connection with the Apple TV. I have tried everything but no results. Somebody please help me.

I have downloaded the new update for Firefox 3.6 and now cannot connect to the internet. I've checked my firewall and have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but nothing works.

After installing the new update for Firefox 3.6, no matter what I do, I cannot connect to the internet using Firefox. I can get on the internet using my other browsers (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer), so Firefox is the only one that doesn't work. I have already checked my firewall and have added and removed Firefox from my firewall to no avail. I've also already uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but so far it hasn't helped.

I have already tried removing firefox from my firewall. Even when I do that, my firewall doesn't detect firefox and prompt me to add it. And when I manually add it, it still doesn't work anyways. I've already tried the link as well, but it has been unhelpful. :/

I just upgraded to ff 6.0.1 via an automatic push. Since then, ff hasnt been able to connect to the internet. Error message:

After upgrading, your firewall may not be recognizing the new Firefox version and is not allowing it access to the internet. On your firewall progam's allowed applications list, remove Firefox, then re-start Firefox, try going to a website, your firewall will detect the new version of Firefox, then give the permissions needed for Firefox to have internet access.

I just got my ipad yesterday, and already I have a prob;( When I look for a network, I find one that appears to be appropriate, but I am not able to connect to the internet;( I have a Netgear router, but the real deal is...(being blatantly honest here becuz I desparately want to use my new DEVICE!!) I don't know what exactly to do with the router to get a connection w/my ipad. At this point it is just simply turned on...meaning the adapter is hooked up....that's where I'm at and if anyone know any info plz plz...help. You only connect automatically once the device knows and remembers the connection. You will need the Password to connect to it for the very first time.
Clearly the Laptop was setup with the correct password 5 years ago.
The only thing that can be suggested is to look on the side of the Netgear router, sometimes the default password is printed there.
If that doesn't work, there's not much to do other than contacting your ISP, and have them walk you through resetting the router so it goes back to the default password and settings.

First of all I was not one of iTues users till by chance discovered its amazing features of downloading all kinds of items that help in education in particular. I set up iTunes version 8 I gusse and it was working properly either by using direct connect to the material or downloading it. Then, I made I mistake when I tried version 11 and everything stopped working. No downloading or even connecting the web. I'm a student and I'm in a bad need to this wonderful programme. I must not forget that I tried many steps to solve this problem by uninstalling iTunes with its contents from its roots till registry files, and I set up the old version once and then the newer version 11 and finally version 9 and all my trials were in vain. Please I need your help and advise. I'm looking forward for your reply and thanks in advance for your care.

Reset password and now cannot connect to the internet

I tried to reset my airport password, and now airport utilities cannot locate the base station and the password is said to be invailid when I enter it, or it repeatedly askes for the password with not change. Any tips??

Push the reset button on the AirPort for one second and release. You now have a few minutes of free access to go in and change the passwords.
If this does not work, then unfortunately, there is not much that you can do at this point other than reset the AirPort router back to factory default settings and then re-configure it again, using a new device name, new wireless network name and password(s).
If you decide to do this.....
Power off the AirPort router for a few minutes
Then, hold in the reset button first...and continue to hold it in for an additional 10 seconds.....while you simultaneously plug the power back into the AirPort router
Release the reset button after the hold period, and allow a full minute for the AriPort to restart
The AirPort is now ready to be re-configured again from scratch

Just received my T530 and cannot connect to the internet

I just recieved my T530 laptop on Friday, 8/26. Right out of the box, I am unable to connect and sustain any internet connection. I have my other PC tried on two different wireless routers and it works fine. It is not the routers that is the issue.
My computer says I am connected to the internet but I cannot browse. I have enabled the Intel connection under properties. The drivers are all up to date. I have restored the system to factory settings because a Lenovo tech support rep said the Windows update was messing new laptops up.
All of this and I still cannot connect to the internet. I am a wits end. What do I have to do to get this working? Also, how do I return the laptop for a refund?

Typically support will ship a box overnight to you for you to send the system in, and in most cases repairs at the depot are 1-2 days and then it will be shipped back to you overnight.
If you wish to return, you will need to call sales, and let them know you had a defective system and provide the service case number (where you called support to verify your trouble)

When I called Apple (after wating 42 min. for a live person) I was told to run the APPLE Software Update and turn off location services then restart my computer. There were no available updates. The iPod touch I got on Christmas day. The iTunes app was downloaded the same day. Since day 1 I have not been able to connect. After restarting my computer:
From the iTunes app I click on the 'iTunes Store'
A new window opens and I get the following message:
This Apple ID has not yet veen used with the iTunes Store.
Please review your account information
So I click on 'Review' and am taken to a crude screen that says
Welcome to the iTunes Store
With an Apple ID, you can download the latest music, videos, and more.
To begin creating your Apple ID, click Continue.
So I click on 'Continue'
A pop up window says:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-1202).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
And the only option I am left with is to click 'OK'
After every fix this same scenerio just loops and loops and loops

I currently use a Mac Pro 10.8.4 and have a time machine for wireless 6.3 (630.34). Sometimes I cannot connect to the internet and use network preferences to diagnose the issue. This results in being told to restart the wireless. The airport utility includes the drop down option of restarting but is not clickable so I can't choose it.
With my prior macbook and same time capsule, etc if i had problems connecting to the internet I would run network diagnostics to help out. This included clicking on the airport utility ---> base station --> restart. This worked most of the time.
Bottom line, is there something I am missing in not being able to restart the wi-fi remotely? ]

You are likely forgetting a step.
Open AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon
Click Edit in the small window that appears
Now click the Base Station menu.....top of the screen....not the Base Station "tab" in the center of the screen
Click Restart
