SATA crashes after O/C

Question

Hm this might be one of the more usual problems, but i still need help with it.
Everytime i push the FSB a little(I think its like 220 or something) the system dies and windows wont boot..just like the SATA disc crashed or something. Why? I've seen other people being able to o/c with SATA discs.
Heres my PC specs:
AMD64 3000+ Winchester
K8T Neo2-FIR Mainboard
TwinMOS 512 Dual channel kit
Hitachi deskstar 160GB SATA
VIA K8T800Pro Chipset
HIS Radeon 9800 Pro ICEQ

Another thing to be aware of is Windows automatic fallback on controller speed when incipient disk corruption is detected e.g. a lot of retries. On a normal IDE controller, this results in access mode dropping from UDMA5 down to 4 or 3 or even 2. On the SATA controller, it's more serious since as far as Windows and the nVidia drivers are concerned, the controller either operates in SATA DMA Mode or PIO mode, nothing in between. I noticed this on my machine a couple of weeks back after an abortive attempt to crank up the clock speed. Needless to say, the speed of my Raptor 74GB in PIO mode was not as impressive as it should have been! A quick visit to Device Manager and a restart got things back to where they should be and it's been fine since.
Now, what clock is going to be safe for SATA and make the most of my shiny new FX-55 arriving on Tuesday?
