SATA driver download X61

Downgrading Vista Business to XP Pro, unable to detect Hard disk . Where to download SATA driver for WinXP installation?

In the BIOS configuration, switch AHCI to compatibility mode.
You can also integrate the AHCI driver with nLite or use a USB floppy drive to load the AHCI driver.

  • Satellite P300D-13N and XP Installation Issues (Sata-Driver)

    Hi,
I have some issues with my XP-Downgrade.
I already tried integrating the Intel Storage Manager drivers into my XP-CD but unfortunately it didn't work.
Probably because i've been integrating ALL drivers, that were available and not just the one that should work for my chipset.
Anyway, in one of the threads in this forum there is a link to [THIS How To|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm] and I think I found my problem...
[Here|http://s5.directupload.net/images/080904/2eptrpzs.jpg] is a screenshot of my device manager (sorry for it being in german) of the pre-installed Vista.
As you can see, there is no information about the controller-Version.
So my question is, WHAT chipset is built into my laptop, because due to the fact that the Intel drivers do not work AND there is no information about any Intel Drive-Controller, I have no idea, which drivers i have to integrate into the XP-CD to get my XP-Installation to work. :(
    Help :(
    Thank you
    Laptop: Satellite P300D-13N PSPDCE

Of course... I didn't want to bore you with the details... but I can do that ;)
I couldn't find any Chipset drivers on amd.com OR the toshiba website so I googled for the chipset and found [This Driver|http://eu.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=883&CategoryID=1&Deta ilName=Driver&MenuID=123&LanID=4] on the ECS-Elitegroup website.
I don't know why AMD doesn't upload this driver on their website, because I don't think I am the only one, who needed this SATA-Driver... ;)
Anyway, with the chipset-driver on my HDD, I created an XP-BootCD. I didn't know which driver (there are 3 or so in the package you can download on the ECS-Website), so I put *all* of them in the CD, which worked just fine. I think the *ahcix86.inf* in *\1_chipset_XP3264\XP3264\RAID7xx\x86\ i* is the important file for WinXP to load, but I'm not sure...
PS: The original catalyst drivers from ati.com do NOT work but the ones you can find [here|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU] work fine ;) Just telling you so you don't try 3 different versions from ati.com before you try the toshiba-drivers... like i did :D

  • Can I boot from a SATA drive? What if it's RAID?

I'm planning on getting the MSI 875P Neo FIS2R 800FSB motherboard. I'm also planning on getting ONE SATA hard drive. Can I boot from the SATA drive? Do I HAVE to set up it as a RAID drive? Can you boot from RAID drives? RAID and SATA confuse me a little. Anyone care to help?

I'm using the MSI 865PE Neo2 board and I'm having this problem.  It probably has an easy solution, but this is my first build, so I'm not sure exactly what to do.
    MSI 865PE Neo 2 Mobo
    2.4b P4
    Seagate SATA 80GB HDD
    Panasonic FDD
    Lite-On DVDROM
It took me a little bit of experimenting, but I got the BIOS to recogonize the DVD & HDD.  It seems every time I got it to recognize one, the other disappeared.  Anyway, like I said, BIOS recognizes all 3 now.
I go to install XP and it says I need to install the drivers from a floppy (after I had previously hit F6).  Well, where do I get the drivers?  I have a CDROM that came with the mobo but I don't know where to find the drivers for the SATA controller on it.  ???
Can someone help me by directing me to a download and/or the file names that I need to transfer to floppy for Win XP installation?  I would appreciate it.  Thanks.

  • 10.5.8 to 10.6  Can I use an internal SATA drive in my MacPro for back up..

10.5.8 to 10.6 Can I use an INTERNAL SATA drive in my MacPro for back up..
or must I use an External hard dive.
I prefer to use an internal for anti "desk-clutter" purposes. I am looking
at a 2TB drive to install into my Mac Pro tower for the purpose of back up
    and time machine i guess.
Also.. if doing a clean install of 10.6 how do i restore the backed up apps
    without re-registering all of them?

A clone is a functional copy of the original, including the internal links & setting that makes it bootable if the original is. Time Machine will not make a clone of a volume, nor will a Finder copy. You can make a clone with the appropriate settings in the "Restore" tab of Disk Utility but many users find purpose-designed cloning utilities easier & simpler to use. The two most popular of these are SuperDuper! & Carbon Copy Cloner. Both are very reliable, easy to use, & well documented.
I prefer SuperDuper! for reasons that are not important here. However, even if you decide to use CCC, I suggest that you download SuperDuper! just to read the extensive documentation that comes with it.

  • How to install Windows XP on a single SATA drive?

I am trying without much success to use a single Maxtor 200 GB SATA drive in a non-RAID configuration running Windows XP Home SP 2+. I obtained documentation from the MSI Download site that explains how to do such a thing. However ...
First, out of the box the Drivers & Utilities CD is useless -- can't read it, simply hangs the CD drive.
Second, the drivers from the Download site (IATA_ICH5R) return "incompatible hardware. software not supported on this chipset" messages.
So where do I get the drivers required to install Windows XP on a single SATA drive (to use at point F6 in the Windows XP installation)?
    Regards,
    Bob (ll1951md)
    P.S. Configuration ...
    865PE/G Neo2-P (MS-6728) w/ Intel Extreme Graphics 2, Realtek ALC655 Audio
2 GB Corsair Dual Channel DDR Memory
    Intel P4 3.0e GHz Processor
1 Maxtor 200 GB SATA HD
1 HDS 120 GB ATA HD

Thanks for the tips. I was able to install Windows XP and boot from the SATA drive by using these options and setting the appropriate boot device selections...
    Legacy Mode
    ATA Configuration - PATA only
    SATA Keep enabled - yes
    PATA Keep enabled - yes
    PATA channel selection - both
    Combined Mode Option - S-ATA 1st Channel
    S-ATA Ports Definition - P0 - 3rd./P1 - 4th.
I just wasn't sure if I was really getting "SATA" performance, etc. without specific drivers.
    Thanks again.

  • MS-7008 SATA drives not visible

    Hi,
    My MS-7008 ATX Mainboard has:
    Supports Intel® P4 Northwood/Prescott (Socket 478) processor.
    VIA® PT880 chipset
    VIA® VT8237 chipset
    - High Bandwidth V-link Client controller
    - Integrated Faster Ethernet LPC
    - Integrated Hardware Sound Blaster/Direct Sound AC97 audio
    - Ultra DMA 66/100/133 master mode PCI EIDE controller
    - ACPI
    - Supports Serial ATA
    - Supports USB2.0
Have been funning this motherboard for many years without problems. Until now, when I decided to use SATA drives in addition. Bought Samsung 1 TB (HD103UJ model) drive, connected to MB and fired up my W2K3 system.
To my large dissapointment drives did not show up in the list of available disks. I am looking under Computer Management - Disk Management. Device Manager shows some error under SCSI and RAID Controllers - VIA RAID Conntroller 3149 ... It has this yellow sign with "!" in it. Understand that driver for SATA migh be missing. Since that point I have been to tones of pages on web reading and searching, but after two days still no luck... Tried MSI page, VIA (producer of southbridge chipset) page, tried out many drivers I could find there, but still same message. On the other hand, those are not listed in computer start up post messages either. I checked all settings in BIOS, found only one regarding SATA and there it says enabled.
The only thing I did not check out yet is to play with HDD jumpers. Somewhere I read that by limiting speed of HDD one can make them appear. But I do not have jumper avalable and HDD manual is very unclear, not sure if I can do that even if I had jumper. Have only 4 pins ( two sets times two pins) so it is only 4 possible combinations, will try as soon as I get some pins.
Anybody else have any other idea??? Really painfull to search for something that should just work in "plug & play" mode

Unfortunatelly Disk Management does not show that disk. I am quite sure this has to do with finding right drivers. Furthermore, I hope that these drivers can be installed now, after system has been installed. I believe SATA drivers need to be installed during system installation only if SATA drive is the one where you install the system. In my case, this drive will only be used as data drive, so hopefully I can find the right driver and install it now. Pleaes note, that BIOS identifies SATA 1 driver (I temporarely connected another SATA drive that I had). The only problem is, I can not find the driver.... One possible reason could be that my system "windows Server 2003 X86  is not supported"... That would be dissapointing :( I have looked through MSI page as well as VIA support and tried many possible drives (I go into device manager and select SATA driver that is currently with yellow warning sign, right click it and do update, then select the new downloaded driver, but system does not accept it).
I also tried to uninstall existing drive completely, and then do "search  for hardware changes". This finds new device and places it not under unidentified devices without driver. It places into SCSI and RAID controllers group and call device something that ends 3149 ... VIA chip used on my board is 8237, so again, kind of weired number that Windows automatically assigns to new device. But again, it does not allow me to change the driver to any of the downloaded ones, saying that it is not newer driver than the one currently installed....

    Svet, thx for replying.
I'm a noob here and have some doubts about this steps...
1.) >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<< (Ok got it.)
A.) Download the attached archive and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress. (Ok got it)
B.) Download and install the Forum flash tool. (MSI HQ Forum USB flasher?)
C.) Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick. (Ok got it)
D.) Make sure that all win 8 options are disabled. (Fast Boot etc) Also make sure the legacy USB is enabled. (win 8 options??? i'm running on a win7 ultimate 64bit)
E.) Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive. (Ok got it.)
F.) Boot to the USB and follow the directions. MEMTEST is included with the forum flash tool and it is recommended to run this prior to any flash. (ok got it, change boot sequence to USB and follow the directions.)
Yeah i know a lot of doubts, sorry for that, Working all day and at night i have to go to the university.
    Thank you for your time!!!

  • Where can I get WinXP SATA driver for Satellite L30?

I have a Satellite L30-10X with preinstalled Windows Vista and plan to downgrade OS to Windows XP Pro, but it needs special SATA driver at the early installation phase. Going to create an "unattended" Windows distributive using nLite, but cannot find such a driver at the download page.
    So please help...

I think the sata driver you need is "Silicon Image Sil 3112". You can find it with Google, and then integrate into WinXP with nLite.

  • Help in identifying Satellite Pro 2100 for driver download

    I have a Satellite Pro (marked underneath as a PS210E-00C3G-EN and as a P4 2000/256/30G/15XT/DCW/LW). I believe it's a Sat Pro 2100, whatever that is.
Problem I have is that when it comes to downloading drivers, I can't find anything approaching that model from the selection process. I have searched the forums and there isn't much about on this machine other than in this one, so I was hoping someone could help me in identifying this machine specifically for driver downloads....yes, guess who reinstalled Windows XP without checking I had all the Toshiba specific stuff tucked away first?
RIght now I have a load of things running without drivers and it's not at all optimal....
    Thanks in advance

    Check this Toshiba European driver page;
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU#
    and choose;
*Archive Satellite Pro Archive Satellite Pro 21xx Satellite Pro 2100*
Then you will find all available Toshiba drivers for this machine ;)

  • K8T NEO (MS-6702 VT8237) can't find SATA drive

I just got a Seagate 160gb SATA drive (retail).  In the bios settings sata is enabled (default), Serial Port 1 is on Auto (default) but I don't know where to look in the BIOS to see that the drive is recognized.  I felt the drive and it's warm so I know it's getting power.  Brand new SATA cable from the Seagate box.  I'm using the drive as the primary drive to install OS.  I downloaded "VIA VT8237(R) SATA RAID Driver (For floppy driver)". Put on floppy, restarted with my bootable XP disc, hit F6 when XP was starting setup.  It recognized the driver install (gave me driver choice of XP, 2000 and NT).  Picked XP and then it continues loading.  Finally says "no hard drive found" (or something like that).  I even tried keeping my IDE as primary so I could add it as a secondary drive in windows. Installed all the latest 4 in1 drivers, raid setup and everything and won't recognize.  This is my first SATA install so I guess I'm missing something.  I guess I shoulda got the EIDE to make it ez :(  Please help!

    Hi!
Have a look at the connector you used. If you have the full K8T Neo, you have two SATA controllers. One VIA and one Promise. You then have 4 SATA ports on the board. you need to use the ones closest to your RAM, so, the upper ones.
Did you buy a SATA or SATA-II disk? In case it's SATA-II, check the SATA/SATA-II jumper on the drive and set it to SATA-I. Your board does NOT support SATA-II.
when you checked this, please verify in BIOS that you actually did enable the VIA V8237 SATA controller. When you did, boot further untill the POST screen disappears. Now, you see a VIA SATA BIOS screen. It should list your Seagate now.

  • Z97 Gaming 7 - bios 1.6 , random SATA drives disappearing

Hello, today I updated the bios from version 1.5 to 1.6.
There is a problem, when i reboot the system, displays the message no drive to boot the system.
I have  3 drives, intel sad 520 with system, samsung ssd 840 evo and one normal hdd. Boot order, have changed, so i recover correct order and after the next reboot bios lost this settings. After several reboots, bios lost both SSD's and shows only question marks .
I disconnected all SATA drives, plugged in again, loaded the default settings, after that all disks get back but i lost my dvd-rom, bios also shows question marks. So i think its a random issue.
I switched mono to second bios (1.3) and all works fine, with 1.5 also was fine.
Is this a bug of the new BIOS or i've made something wrong?
BIOS 1.5 from the support site (no matter eu or global) won't run on Windows 8.1. the file downloaded by msi live update runs normally. Can somebody help and share BIOS 1.5 installer?

    1. Could you state clearly what is the original boot sequence of your HDD shown in the bios?
you mentioned that after you reset from Windows or from DOS then the sequence will changed??   how often will this symptoms happened.
    2. If you only use the Intel SSD 520 + the Normal HDD (remove DVD and the Samsung SSD) , will you see the boot sequence lost issue?
    3. What do you mean by the below??  you can't flash bios 1.5 in DOS mode???  please help explain in details
BIOS 1.5 from the support site (no matter eu or global) won't run on Windows 8.1. the file downloaded by msi live update runs normally. Can somebody help and share BIOS 1.5 installer?
    Regards
    Orginal boot sequence:
    1: SSD Intel 520 (system)
    2: SSD Samsung 840
    3: HDD
Mobo was traing to set Samsung at first place, but after disconnecting this drive, it put HDD on fist place. So i disconnected all other drives, and mobo shows only question marks in Intel SSD field.
I never had any problems with this intel SSD, it works perfect, samsung behaves the same way, it disappears randomly.
Sometimes all works correct, some times some drive is missing, it does not matter the restart is made on windows, dos, or on bios. Totally random.
When i switch to second bios (1.3) all works fine, only on 1.6 freaking out.
When i what start bios package from msi-support site windows shows "this app. can't be run on this system", thats all (there are 3 files i archive). File downloaded by msi-update starts normally (and this is only one exe file), unzip and run dos-mode update.  Unfortunately, I removed the file with 1.5 downloaded by msi live update.
Maybe the bios package is dedicated to installing from usb-drive through m-flash ?
And on the windows can update only through msi-live update? I really do not know, I'm confused.

  • I cant get my K7n2 Delt-ILSR to see my single WD sata drive.

I am tryting to load windows on my new machine. I bought one 120 gig WD sata drive as my only hard drive. Each time I try and load windows, I get the message that windows does not see a storage devise. I am hitting F6 to add the driver off the floppy that came with my board. Does the sata function on this board require that 2 sata drives be installed? I thought that Just having one sata drive should work.

256 meg Evga 5500 Gforce Fx

I followed the "HOW TO install RAID/ AHCI 975x PUE Driver Guide" guide above, but still am having no luck. I downloaded and ran the Intel F6 floppy disk utility, made a floppy, ran F6 on install to load the drivers, but upon the 1st reboot, the XP Pro disk starts again and the install starts all over again. If I change the boot order so the hard drive boots 1st, I get a disk read error. My board is a P965 Neo and the drive is a Seagate SATA Barracuda. I have the latest BIOS installed (1.10). I don't know what you mean by "integrate drivers". Are you referring to the F6 option during install? Regardless, you're saying it's unnecessary.
Yes, I am referring to the F6-Floppy procedure at the beginning of the setup. There are no special SATA drivers for Intel ICH8 anyway.
    Quote
I tried to install the Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager, but it said my system did not meet the requirements.
The Matrix Storage manager does not Support ICH8 chipset.

Sounds like I have Neo-f and that it's irrelevant.
Yes, it has  nothing to do with your problem.
    /Edit:
So the XP Setup is detecting your drive.  Maybe integrating the drivers is the cause of your problems.
    /Edit2:
The Driver package that you have on your floppy disk contains quite a few drivers for different chipsets.  Which one did you select?  Forcing Windows Setup to use the wrong driver, may cause a corrupt installation.

    Hi
Your notebook seems to be a Satellite L300-03C PSLB8C-03C01X.
As already suggested in your first thread visit the Toshiba Canada page and choose this notebook model on the driver page.
    http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/ln_bymodel.asp
Then download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (SATA) - Floppy drive image. Its for Vista but the files in this package should work with Win XP too.
Include these files using nLite in order to create new Win XP disk containing the SATA drivers.
Finally use this disk for booting.
