Sata drivers for G62-B25SA.

Hello all,
Im trying to recover my windows 7 partition after installing ubuntu and upsetting the master boot record (blue screen of death on booting windows 7).
When running the recovery disk it asks me for a hard drive driver.
None of the ones I have found from other users with simler problems or off my hard drive have worked.
Can anyone tell me where I can get the correct driver?
My laptop is a HP G62-B25SA.
Windows 7 64bit.
Cheers,
Sam.

Hi, Sam:
I have attached the x64 drivers you need.
Extract to a USB flash drive and select the Intel(R) Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller from the list.
I have never heard of a W7 disk needing the AHCI drivers before. Hopefully that is really what the problem is.
Paul

  • Equium L40 HDD sata drivers for Windows 7

I have Equium L40 17M (PLS49E) running XP... and i want to install Windows 7 and cant.... i need the sata HDD drivers .
But i cannot find these anywere.. i tried the Toshiba driver site and some other driver sites .
I had the same problem when i wanted to go from Vista to XP
And found out i just needed to add the HDD Sata driver into the ISO i was making
I having tried the Vista drivers in it
So does anyone know were the Windows 7 HDD sata drivers are (storage manager)
or if i can use the Vista ones
    Thanks
    Joepeash

    Hi
Normally you can get all drivers on the Toshiba page:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
I have checked the page and it seems that for Windows 7 not all drivers available. So as you already wrote you can try the Vista driver because the most of them are also work on Windows 7.
Alternative you can check the Intel page. Maybe there you can find a newer driver that was official released for Windows 7.
If you dont know how to use this driver exactly, use the forum search. You will find hundreds of threads. ;)

  • [Athlon64] SATA drivers for Windows Vista!!

    Hi there
Does anyone know how and when MSI will release SATA drivers compatible with Windows Vista 64?
The ones provided for XP 64 dont work
    Please help

People, Windows Vista is only in a first beta-testing state. It's not officially released to the main public. I don't know if you guys signed up for the beta-testing group at Microsoft ... if you did: you should ask them for help or give feedback on the fact that these drivers aren't there in the beta-release!
You cannot expect MSI to release these drivers already, since this beta has been out for only a couple of days. I think that people at MSI, VIA, etc. are using this release to write the aproppriate drivers!

  • Help installing sata drivers for 870-G45

I just noticed Windows 7 64-bit lists my internal sata ii drive as ata in the device manager and also won't autodetect my e-sata usb drive when I connect it.  I read that I need an AHCI driver.  I have a 870-G45 mobo with AMD RX780 Northbridge and SB710 Southbridge.
So I went to the msi drivers page at http://www.msi.com/product/mb/870-G45.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win7%2064 and downloaded the driver package:
ATI System Drivers for 7xx/8xx/SB7xx/SB8xx Series (except RS690, 740).
When I unzip the downloaded file "ati_system_drive_mb.zip" I get a directory called "AMD" and inside is a program called "Setup.exe"
When I run Setup.exe it wants to install a program called "Catalyst".  Is this correct?  It says something about managing graphics but I don't have an AMD video card.
Do I have to run Catalyst?  I can see some drivers in the folder AMD->Packages->Drivers->SBDrv->SB7xx->AHCI->W764A listed as:
    amd_sata.inf
    amd_sata.sys
    amd_xata.sys
    amd_sata.msi
Can I just install these somehow?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

ok, I can explain this better.
I have an internal sata ii drive and an external esata.
Both work but for the external drive when I turn it on I have to go to 'Disk Management" and rescan drives for win7 to pick it up.
    Here is my Device Manager:
See both my drives show as ATA even though they are SATA.  And I have only IDE controllers listed no SATA controller.
I am trying to get the system to recognize the drives as SATA and use the SATA controller to get better performance.
Also I am trying to install AHCI so that my external drive can be auto recognized.
The only thing in my BIOS regarding AHCI is under "Integrated Peripherals->On-Chip ATA Devices->RAID Mode->AHCI
I assume it needs to be set to AHCI.

  • SATA Drivers for P965 Neo ?

    Ok.. first time  here..
I have an Intel E6600 Core 2 Duo running on an MSI P965 Neo MB with 2 GB RAM, with a Seagate ST3320620AS 320 GB SATA drive. The OS is WinXP Pro.
For the most part, everything is ok. However, I suspect the HD is not running at max capacity. In some basic file transfer tests, I calculate that the data transfer rate is about 32 MB/Sec.  Running the PassMark Performance Text, it says about 46 to 47 MB.  However, the specs on the Seagate site say this drive should be able to run about 72 MB in sustained transfer rate.
Now I have been chatting on some other boards about this, and the consensus is that I should have installed the SATA driver prior to the WinXp install (when prompted press F6 to install 3rd party drivers). However, when I look at the MSI site ( http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_list.php?part=1&kind=4&CHIP=4&COM=24 ), I only see RAID drivers. I am not interested in running RAID - besides, I only have one hard drive. Are there some specific SATA drivers I need to install before installing XP? If so, which ones and where do I get them?
Secondly, if I DO need to install a driver, how do I go about this without a floppy drive?  When I bought the system, I opted to get flash media card reader instead of a floppy drive, since I thought floppys were pretty much obsolete.  Will XP recognize the driver on a flash media card instead of the floppy drive, or do I need to now buy a floppy drive?
    Paul

    Maesus..
    Many thanks for the reply!
The drive is in SATA port 1, and the drive is a Seagate ST3320620AS 320 GB SATA II, rated at 3.0 GBits.
The board has 5 SATA ports, numbered: 1, 3, 4, 6, and 7.  (Not sure why there are no 2 or 5 ports.)
The manual says they are all high speed SATA II ports, rated at 300 MB, and although the specs say there are 4 SATA II ports by ICH8 and 1 SATA II port by JMicron JMB361, it does not specify which is the JMicron port.
Do you know which port is the JMricon? And can I move the cable to a different port, without affecting operation? i.e, will the system still boot up?  Or does moving it involve reloading the OS? Do I need to load a 3rd party driver for the ICH8 ports?
    Thanks for your assistance!

  • Problems installing SATA Drivers for K8tm-ILSR with Via VT8237R

I have a Gateway 812gm.  For some reason this machine was sent to me with the wrong board in it...at least accroding to Gateway.  It took me 2 months for them to believe that the board in my pc had sata capabilities.  Anyway...There is nothing in the bios for me to enable the sata ports on the motherboard.  I looked everywhere.  The current ver. of bios I am running is a67741vg1 v3.4b1 121404.  I tried to flash the latest bios version(1.6) that I could find.  I don't have a 3.5" floppy drive so I formatted a usb drive as a windows millenium boot disk.  Then I copied the two files:  a6741vms.160 and adsfi713.exe to the ramdrive(E:).  Then from the ramdrive I typed adsfi713 a6741vms.160     Then the AMI Flash Programming Utility for DOS comes up and says  "ROM FILE NAME A6741VMS.160 ROM SIZE 00040000H  - Error File Size Not Match.  I have an AMD Athlon 64 3200+.  I also have an IDE Raid controller hooked up...SIL 0680 ATA/144 Medley Raid Controller(don't know if that matters).  And I am trying to hookup a Seagate Barracuda 80 gig sata drive.  Model #ST380817AS.  Hope someone can help me out.  I desperately need it.  Thanks a bunch.

    Try this:
    - Go into bios and select Optimized Settings;
    - Reboot and go into bios again.
    - Goto Integrated peripherals and enable onboard SATA and set it to SATA when using only one disk. If this option isn't available, just select enable;
    - save and exit bios and restart PC;
    - when in Windows have a look under Device manager;
    - goto SCSI & RAID controllers and have a look. The VIA SATA RAID (or something like that) should be there.
       - If not,  look under IDE controllers and look for it there.
One way or the other, it should be there now. If not, just tell us and we'll look further.

  • Storage management Sata Drivers

    Hi,
I installed xp on lenovo g550 by switching to IDE mode, after that i installed all sort of drivers iincluding sata drivers for sata channels, but when I switch back to AHCI mode & boot, Os will not load, Only blue screen comes & laptop restarts & this will continue till I again switch back to IDE mode.
Can Any one help how  to configure sata drivers & boot into ACHI mode?
    Thanks

Download AHCI drivers from Intel here.
Than, manualy istall it from device manager, under IDE/ATA ATAPI controllers. Search something like "Intel ICH9 port Serial ATA Storage Controller". In one of next screens select "Dont search. I will choose the driver to install" and select path to unpacked driver. Choose the correct AHCI driver for your controller. After this, restart your operating system, enter bios, select AHCI mode for SATA controller and boot into OS.

  • Portege R600 - where can I find the correct SATA drivers?

I wish to install a solid state drive, and to maintain XP. Setting the correct partition alignment in the SSD and electromechanically installing it are now easy, but there is apparently a SATA driver problem because I cannot boot to either the Toshiba restore disk, a new XP install disk, or an image of the original HDD.
Some have suggested using nlite to slipstream the correct SATA drivers into the XP install, and then beginning from scratch with all app installations, etc.
When I look at the laptop's Devices, I find the Toshiba MK1652GSX HDD, drivers for which appear at
    C:\WINDOWS\system21\DRIVERS - then
    PartMgr.sys, pssnap.sys, and thpdrv.sys
    Is that what nlite needs?
Is there another source for the SATA drivers for this laptop?
    Thanks!

Hi, This is my very first letter in this community, so have me excused, if I use it wrong..I reply to the asking for SATA-drivers to R600, nor because I have a solution, but to ask for help myself in a matter much alike: I bought a r600, whishing to downgrade to XP. Unfortunately I did not recieve the XP-downgrade CD together with the Laptop, and now I simply can not get connection to the harddisk, when trying to install XP with a standard XP-boot installCD, even I read about and tried severel INTEL floppy images with Sata-drivers to impose during start of boot with the F6-command: They simply do not work!!
My question; Do ANY that read me in this community have a such XPdowngrade-CD from their puchase of the portege r600 that they do not use, AND WILL BE WILLING TO SELL TO ME ? Message with offer through my home mail? cheers, Niel, Aarhus, Denmark

  • XP drivers for HP 15-r018ne Notebook PC

My Laptop is HP 15-r018ne Notebook PC. I am using windows 7 64 bit  and i want to install Windows XP on it but when Windows installation begins the computer turned off automatically. I searched for this problem and i found the same problem with others and i downloaded drivers for HM76 and tried to install xp but it was useless that's all pre thank you.

    Hi:
Read the info on how to slipstream the sata drivers you need to install XP 32 bit on your model.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on...
Read the Intel section.  Slipstream all of the drivers in the folder, not just the ones for the series 7 chipset.
I have attached the drivers you need to slipstream.  Unzip them to a folder.

  • Ordered a P35 Neo, where do I get the SATA drivers?

    Hi
I ordered a computer with a MSI P35 Neo mainboard yesterday. It is going to be assembled by the company that I bought it from, so I was going to download the SATA drivers and put them on a floppy, since I'm not sure if the company that assembles the computer will send me the floppy with the drivers on it. However, when I looked at the driver page for the P35 Neo, http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1215 , there are no SATA drivers. Does this mean that I don't need any SATA drivers for Windows XP or Vista, or do I have to get them elsewhere?

you are correct, you don't need SATA drivers.  they are fully supported in XP/Vista.
The only time you'll need drivers is if you create a RAID setup.  but single drive setups are good to go.

  • Hitachi SATA drivers

I need the Windows XP SATA drivers for a Hitachi HTS722016K9SA00 drive, I want to install XP(obviously) and I'm getting that "you have no hard drives" error, I looked on the Hitachi website but they didn't actually have them
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

When you install XP it will rewrite the mbr and grub will be gone leaving you no easy way to boot to Linux until you reinstall grub from the Live cd. Doing this has it';s own problems. That is why you should always install Windows first and Linux last.
What would changing SATA to compatibility mode have to do with uninstalling Linux anyway? Linux doesn't care if the SATA is in ACHI or compatibility mode.

  • GD85 and New Intel SATA drivers

Intel updated thier SATA drivers for RAID so that TRIM will work correctly.
Does one  of you experts know if the new Intel drivers are included in BIOS update
    V1.3 07/12/2010??
    Pat

Guys, I misspoke, I am not talking about the BIOS, I am talking about the Intel SATARaid drivers listed on the download website with a date of 01 2010.  These are the  Rapid Storage Technology drivers.  I know that Intel released a new  Rapid Storage Technology driver to solve a problem with TRIM when the Intel SATARAID technology is used in a RAID
mode.  Basically TRIM wont work on a RAID array because of a problem in the Intel driver.
I am wondering is the 01-10 version on the download site includes the new fix.
If it doesnt can I use the Intel driver from the Intel website
