SATA info for P55-A5302 on the DVD side.

I need info as to the Sata connection from the board to the DVD.... { I have replaced the DVD Rom for a Hardrive Caddy! It does work too}
The issue at hand is ... in BIOS, this drive (in the Caddy) does not show up at all. Does still show the DVD CD Rom, with no drive attached. Once booted, in windows or Ubuntu, I can see and use this drive.
Would love to be able to switch and use this drive to boot from. (Pain in but, to switch the ssd out for testing in win10TP).
Any help with this would be great!

Seems to me, several folks have read..but..no help. PLUS I have no clue as to why it was moved to "General".
What I am trying to find out,.... WHY (when using a hard drive caddy, in place of optical drive) the drive does not come up in bois???
I have great drives. they check out fine, HOWEVER, when install into a "Toshiba" , in the optical drive tray... They do not show up in bois or the "Service Station" for booting into...
Agian, I would like to know why?
More IMPORTANT, IS HOW, could I boot off of a hard drive, in place of the optical drive???

I have used 2 different hard drive caddies, and on a "TOSHIBA" they do not show up (for booting off of) however, I have used the same trays, same dics, on an ACER Aspire V5... and YES THEY SHOW UP IN BOIS...plus you can boot of them. Just happened, I thoguht a Tosh Sat. P55 would be a much better machine.... really don't want to look for a replacement laptop, when this is still less than a year old )

Size info for User is 2x the sum of sizes of the folders. Why?

On a MBA running Yosemite, running out of storage space.
If I query the info for main User, Finder says it is 85GB.
If I query each of the folders in that User, they only add up to 35GB.

Mystery solved! Still dragging along old backups from iOS devices long since forgotten. They can be removed from within the iTunes preferences. Once removed through iTunes, they immediately free up massive amounts of storage!

I would like to create chapters within my footage for Scene selection on the DVD menu

I have edited footage using FCPX and exported it to allow me to use it in IDVD. I now would like to set chapter markers so that the DVD menues allow for scene selection. I believe that I may have to do this in FCPX before exporting it

This is one of the most embarrassing omissions in FCP X. There is no proper facility to add chapter markers and export them with your movie.
The way I get around it is to make each chapter a separate project in its own right. I then export each of the chapters and when I bring them into my DVD Authoring application, it's a synch to add the chapter markers (between each file on the timeline) with precision.
As you've already created your project (presumably in one hit) create a new project for each chapter then copy and paste the relevant clips into each 'chapter' project, then export.
Alternatively, you can add chapter markers from within the preview window in Compressor if you have it - but it's quite fiddley and not very precise.

How do I re-enter login info for web sites into the auto fill feature?

When I first got my iPhone 4 I was asked if I wanted to save the login info for the sites I need to visit. This was very convenient. But Inhad to change some passwords and clear cookies and now I have to manually re-enter the info again and again. How can I set it up so when I go to the 3 or 4 sites that I need to constantly visit already has he login info entered? When I go to Autofill it has a switch for passwords but no way to set them up. Help. I am spending half my day reentering login info again and again.

You could try going into settings, Safari, auto fill then turn on names and passwords.

Updating info for multiple songs at the same time?

Is there a way to highlight multiple songs and change info for the songs at the same time without having to do it for each individual song? Example: changing the album or the genre for a batch of songs?

How do I find the content for Lesson 01 on the DVD?

I've had a very frustrating day trying to begin the lessons in Classroom in a Book. I copied all the files from the DVD into the folder suggested in the book, but when I click on Lesson 01, Premiere Pro opens with some strange templates and the two Monitors are filled with a graphic which says I am offline. No matter how often I try, I cannot get access to the clips which are shown in the book.

There is a folder called "Assets" on the DVD, look in there.

REAL DETAILED INFO for anyone up to the CHALLENGE OF SAVING THE DAY!~

My video is totally distorted and I don't know what to do. A production house used Blackmagic to import the beta footage onto our harddrives. I downloaded blackmagic onto my computer.
The image has an interlacing problem- and not just because i am watching it on the computer monitor- because i have printed to dvd and the interlacing issue is still very much apparent when i watch it on a NTSC monitor. The image looks great (color,detail), except for when there is movement, and the movement is staggard/blurred/choppy... whatever- all of the above! I really am not sure how to solve this problem?
Within Final Cut 5, I cannot solve the distortion issue- hense I cannot export an appropriate video- so believe that somewhere in the mess of my settings in FCP- something terrible is being overlooked.
I have a sequence set at:
Frame size 720 x 486
Aspect Ratio: CCIR NTSC (40:27)... (The only other CCIR options to choose from are CCIR 601 NTSC Sq. (4:3), or PAL...)

Compressor: Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2
Data Rate: 20.3 MB/sec
I tried the sequence setting compressor as uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2 before as well and was getting the same distortion issue.
When I export a quicktime movie i choose format- qtmovie with compression at blackmagic 8 bit.
when i use compressor and convert it to an mpeg4 the footage has issues. (The compressor will also not allow me to change the geometry setting to a "720x480 mpeg2 file" as you had said, and is locked in as 720X480 (and i am not sure how to go about changing that).)
What should I set my sequence setting to, and how should i export so that i may finally get this footage to DVD. PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

I do not see in your post where you tried upper field setting on the footage.
Make a copy at the Finder level of one of your shorter media files. Start a complete new, empty project. Import the clip. Now try adjusting the field setting for the clip. Then reset the clip and try changing the sequence setting. Then change both. One of those combinations is going to work. If it doesn't, the media may have been captured improperly and that's an argument you cannot win. You can ask nicely for another short clip from the production house and then demand they use alternate field settings (but I don't have a BM rig so I have no clue how the thing works).
You really need to be talking to Blackmagic. There's a BM forum over on creativecow.net but, if you go there, try looking for field issues before posting and, if you insist on posting, let those good souls know you've also posted here.

I can't change the info for my songs on the new iTunes

Ever since I updated to the new iTunes, I have been having issues changing some of the information for some of my songs and albums. I checked the file location to see if the "read only" box was checked, and it was not. How can I fix this? Anyone else having this issue?

Sometimes logging out of iTunes can free up the editing.

TS3297 I can't update my bank info for my iTunes account on my phone or a computer. It keeps giving me the out valid credit card info prompt Everytime I try to put the right info in. And it has been very hard to get any help from Apple

No this was absolutely of no help what so ever!!!!1I have had this issue before and it was also a nightmare. I don't understand why you have to go thru so much pain until you can talk to a real person. I don't have 48 hours. I use this app to make money. I can't update it, so I can't use it, all because I can't update my info, which is clearly on the Apple side. Not my bank (like they first want to say), not me, I know who I am, but it must be something on apple's side. And to wait 48 hours for an email response to tragic . I can't believe a company with as much assets as Apple can't get a real person to help me sort this out. I had this same problem years ago, and it was the same mess. Whay do I keep doing this? I'm working with DVSP for 4 months, so everytime I don't know how to do something I use the documentation. As the times passes I almost don't need it so often.

PDF Search, but I think is not the best way to search because it shows too much useless results.

A way of editing the DVD Project Source Code. Let me explain: in some big projects I just need to change the Jump from "button_1" to "button_2", and to do that I need to find the button under my menus and choose it from a list. If I can just type "2" instead of "1" it will be faster and error-free.
Advancing in this idea, if I can open the entire link list as a Source Code in TextEdit, I can see all the buttons and link all of them without seeking for each on menus.
Today the Connections Tab helps a lot, but I still need to find the button un the menus. With 5 or 4 menus is easy, but sometimes I have 50...

Another request for P55-GD80 new build advice

Hello! This is my first time using an MSI motherboard and I was hoping to get some advice for when I put my system together. My old system was ~14 months old - I added some RAM just before xmas and I'm pretty sure I fried the mobo due to static. Anyway, since I was going to be replacing the motherboard, I decided to upgrade the entire system.
Here's what I ordered last week...
MSI P55-GD80 motherboard

Everything else will be from my "old" system (including the PC Power & Cooling S75CF 750W EPS12V power supply). Since I won't be able to boot from my old Vista HDD, I was planning to start with the SSD and a fresh install of Win 7. After that, I'll add in my old "C:" boot drive as a slave along with the other 2 slave/data HDDs from my old system. This is all going into a Lian Li full tower case so space/airflow for the HDDs shouldn't be an issue.
A few questions about my setup...
SATA setup: I'm going to have a total of 6 SATA II drives (1x SSD, 3x HDD and 2x DVD±R). Is there any advantage to using all 6 "black" SATA ports for everything vs using the two "blue" SATA ports for my DVD drives? I work with photography/graphic design and it's possible that I could be adding another data HDD sometime in the future. All HDDs are the same brand but different sizes and I will not be running any type of RAID configuration.
OC Genie: I plan to use the OC Genie feature on this motherboard. Will I need to change anything in BIOS (specifically- RAM settings) or will the OC Genie take care of everything for me with the push of a button? I realize that the OC Genie won't give me "cutting edge" OC performance but I'm not knowledgeable (or brave) enough to go into BIOS and do everything manually. I want some increased performance but stability is more important.
BIOS #1: Is there anything else in the BIOS that I need to be aware of when setting my new system up?
BIOS #2: I have no idea which version of the BIOS is going to be on this motherboard. Is there a certain version I want right away or should I set up the system with whatever version is installed and only upgrade if it's not performing correctly?
I looked through some posts on the first few pages of this forum and didn't see answers to my questions. If I missed something, I'm sorry for the duplication. Also, I apologize in advance if any of these are "dumb" questions. I've built my last 3 systems over the past 8 years, and each time I build a new one it seems like I try to push the envelope a little further, and thus I run into technical issues that are over my head. I thought this time it might be wise to try to get some info before I experience (or create) any problems with this new setup. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Sorry to bump my own thread. I put everything together and I'm having a problem that hopefully someone can help me with.
I flashed the BIOS from 1.4 to 1.6 and now when I boot I get a CMOS CHECKSUM BAD. I'm able to F1 to BIOS setup and then exit into Windows but I'd like to get this fixed. I have not done anything to OC the system yet - everything is running stock. Do I need to reset the CMOS on the board? I did not do that after flashing.

Need inputs regarding the dvd drive on primary ide channel.

Almost all new motherboards today only have a primary ide channel and the rest are SATA.
I need inputs regarding the dvd drive which is shown in device manager as located on the primary ide channel while the hard drive is located on the secondary channel. Because I would like to update the dvd drive to the latest firmware (version 1.06; to be able to recognize more blank media) but the LG site recommends that the drive (dvd) be located on the secondary ide channel.
I already tried to uninstall every channel from the device manager but all would still be the same after reboot, dvd drive on primary, hard drive on secondary.
Current ide mode in BIOS is set to AHCI+IDE mode, DMA modes are fine (UDMA4 for dvd, UDMA5 for hard drive), boot sequence (1st=HD, 2nd=DVD, 3rd=Floppy drive)
Tried switching to IDE mode only in BIOS but would not detect the optical drive. Never tried RAID+IDE mode since I only have a single hard drive.
I'm not sure but if I try to update the firmware, it might instead try to update the hard drive's firmware instead of the optical drive and make the hard drive unusable.
I would like to know if anybody with this same situation was able to successfully update the optical drive's firmware or is there some way to place the optical drive on the secondary ide channel and the hard drive on primary for me to follow and replicate the process.

Just received the solution from another forum where I posted the same problem.
They said that the flash program for the firmware will detect the drive on its own and would not flash other devices except the optical drive itself. So its pretty safe, and I can confirm this since I just flashed my ODD a little over a while ago and everything went fine. No errors.
Though I'm speaking for the brand of ODD I own and may be different for other brands so take precautions as well. It may be different for the others.

HT4796 The PC side quits during the search for files to migrate. It starts with Documents then dies.

I am trying to migrate Office Outlook info from a Windows 7 PC to a MacBook Air Mac OS X v10.7 Lion. The computers match, then the search for files commences and the PC side quits. No programs are open and the Windows auto update is off. I uninstalled and reinstalled the migration assistant program with the same result.

That's nothing!
An engineer and I contacted Adobe technical support by phone to ensure the PC I was having custom built was configured to its optimum. They advised XP64 as the best operating environment. After that discussion we had to completely revise procurement, etc to get the bits and compatible XP64 compatible software, putting the build project back a few weeks as well, Imagine how I laughed when I found out on one of these forums that XP64 is the worst choice and totally unsupported by CS4!
I have written to Shantanu Narayen, Adobe CEO and didn't even get an acknowledgement I raised this last week on the Adobe stand at BVE and was told they'd get someone to contact me asap but guess what, niet...! To be fair there has been one Adobe executive that recognises the problem and the damage poor customer support is causing the company; he has been as helpful as he can. Unfortunately, it seems the overall Adobe culture at the top is "get the money and run". If your problem goes beyond what's already on their web pages, tough luck!

Why the server side behavior of LoadVars() not consistent?

In my server side script for FMS app,there is such code:

The expected behavior is that the request will be as if sent directly from the browser,thus SESSION information is not lost ,which is the exact behavior for my computer.
But it's not the case for my boss --- session information is lost for him.
