Satelite A100 Series: Replace Keyboard

Can anybody perhaps give some guideline how to replace the keyboard - is there some Worksho\Technical manual avaiable, describing the operation?

Hi!
Such technical manuals that you mean are not public and I think they are only available for ASPs (authorized service provider).
Maybe you can find a guide with Google or ask an notebook technician for help because its a little bit tricky.

  • Satelite A100-233: AC adapter malfunctions - Need new one

I have a technical problem with my laptop model Satelite A100 -233 which is still under warrant.
My power adapter of model PA 1750-08 with output 15V 5 Amps malfunctioned. I did not damage the laptop only the power supply.
I bought a universal AC adapter Toshiba model PA 1900-22 output 15V 6 Amps from a local Toshiba dealer. If I use this adapter will I burn my laptop?
    Thanks for all your help.
    Regards,

Generally it is always advisable to use the AC adapter which was especially designed for this notebook series.
However, its not big difference between the 15V-5A and 15V-6A.
So you can use both AC adaptors.
Important is that the ampere value is not lower as on your original Toshiba AC adaptor,

  • Odd question about a replacement keyboard for HP pavilion G71326DX

I have a G7 1326DX that needs a replacement keyboard. However A frind of mine recently purchased a G72233cl and I noticed that the keyboards were basically the same, however his had a design that I like much better (Key types). My question is, Can I purchase a Replacement keyboard for the G72233cl and install that keyboard into my G71326DX. I have looked into the connection interface, as well as lined up the notches around the edges of the keyboard with pictures of the replacement keyboards, However I want to make sure it will work correctly before I make my Purchase. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
    Marvin Parnell

    Hello MPnarnell,
The keyboard on your G7-1326dx needs to be replaced, but you want to use a keyboard for a G7-2233cl, is that correct? I will try to help you .
Comparing the keyboard section of the manuals the part number for the keyboard you want to you use doesn’t show in the G7-1326dx list of compatible keyboards. The reason being probably is because it has never been fully tested.
Now both computers are G7’s but they are 2 totally different series of G7’s so the motherboards are probably different as well. This is one of those issues where you would have to  test it out and see, I don’t believe it will work but I could be wrong. Here is the part number for the keyboard that came on the G7-2233cl. (699146-001)
If you decided to go ahead and try to change it be sure to check for a BIOS update before doing so.
Please respond back at your earliest convenience.

  • Want to update the CPU on Satelite A100-528

I have Toshiba satelite A100-528 model PSAA2E and I want to upgrade it with a new processor. What processors are ok for me?

1st comment is "partially" right; you "can" upgrade ONLY if:
    - You know exactly what you're doing. If you're a casual user just give up.
    - Your new CPU is recognized by the BIOS. It's a high chance if Toshiba produced a different model in the same series with your new CPU.
    - You investigated power dissipation, socket/chipset compatibility, etc. of the new CPU which should match your existing laptop mainboard.
    - You found on internet the disassembly instructions for your model which will show how to do & what not to do.
    - You forfeit/expunged your warranty.
Also neither CPU nor non-integrated GPU are SOLDERED within the mainboard. If you've just googled you should have known...
2nd comment is completely true. If you're not out of warranty, if your old CPU isn't at snail speed yet handles all applications you wanted, if you can sold it at a reasonable price to afford a new one then don't consider to upgrade...

  • Replacement keyboard for dv2620ca

    Hi all,
    I'm wondering if there's a different replacement keyboard I can get for a dv2620ca.
I'm trying to find one, but it seems the only dv2620ca ones I can get are very expensive and expensive shipping. I don't need the french keys on it, so would any dv2500 keyboard work? Or do they have to be specific?
Any help is appreciated so I can get this laptop working again.

I am not sure what you think is expensive, but eBay is usually your best bet. Some ship from Canada for free and are US layout (check the first page)
The keyboard comes out easily so it's not difficult to check if the one form the dv2500 will work (and it should).
Remove the battery and there will be three screws with small keyboard icons beside them.
Lift the back edge of the keyboard out and slid it back towards the screen.
Be careful when unlocking the tab on the ZIF connector that holds the ribbon cable into the mother board.
If you break the connector on the MoBo you will condemn the laptop and a new MoBo will be needed.

Here is link to the HP Media Libray, there are no videos for the 2600 series, but only for the 2500, so it should be the same.
When you look at the video on how to remove the keyboard it should look like yours.

  • I need a replacement keyboard for a Lenovo 3000 C200 Model# 8922-2FU

My wife dumped a glass of water on her laptop and I am having a really hard time finding a replacement keyboard.
Why do wives love to break the machines?
    Thanks

IBM indicates your part numbers could be this: 39T7353 or this: 39T7417 if you have a laptop designed for English in the USA.
Try these people: http://www.acsparts.com/contact_us.asp   Do check your machine first (remove the keyboard & look at its exact part number).  They can order things they don't have in stock from the warehouse.  I bought a replacement keyboard for my 3000 N200 from them a few months ago, it was an exact replacement.

  • Lenovo ThinkPad W530 replacement keyboard

    Hi,
I am looking to buy a replacement keyboard for my Lenovo ThinkPad W530 notebook.
I'm looking for a US English keyboard.
Can anyone recommend an online retailer? I am having trouble with the Lenovo website itself.
    Thankyou,
    Steven.

    Hey there burrows,
As an option, you can always contact the technical support line and request a parts only order, and order the keyboard directly. To contact the support center you'll need to call 0800-5004618. Make sure you have your serial number, machine type and model number handy when you call. I hope this helps!

  • Satelite A100-02B - Can I get new graphic card?

    Hello folks,
some weeks ago my, unfortunately 2 year and 2 month's old, Toshiba Satelite A100-02B gave up completely.
The grafic card (i hope its called like that in english) and display crashed...
My question is now: is there any possibility to get a new card?
I can't find any fitting Geforce 7600 GO grafic cards....
Thats why i am asking here:
where can i buy such a grafic card - or: are there other (better) grafic cards available that fit in this notebook?
I hope you folks can help me with my desaster :(
    your welcome
    Cornell from Germany :)

    thats complete nonsense written there!
GPU: In all cases the GPU is soldered on the system board and cannot be exchanged.
    thats wrong - look here

  • Replacing keyboard on Satellite L350

A clumsy friend of mine spilt a glass of red wine over my L350 at the weekend which has resulted in my keyboard malfunctioning.
No problem, I thought, should be easy to get a replacement and fit it.
However, as I've taken the original keyboard from the laptop I'm worried that I've damaged the connection and that my replacement won't work when it arrives.
Basically, the black part of the connector has broken - does anyone know if this is considered part of the laptop or will come with a replacement keyboard?
Any idea where I can get a replacement for the black part if necessary.
    Any advice would be fantastic.
    Thanks.

With new keyboard you will not get such parts.
Does it looks like as shown on THIS picture?
You know, many people here are frustrated and angry when I write that such stuff should be done by authorized personal only and you are best evidence what can happen when people try to exchange hardware on its own.
What you can do is to contact nearest service and ask if they can help. Maybe they have some old broken notebook and can give you this small part. Second solution is to buy defective motherboard on eBay and use this part on your motherboard.
I dont know man, sometimes is everything so complicated but I hope you will find solution for this.

  • How do you install a replacement keyboard for the laptop????

I can't find any instructions for installing a replacement keyboard for my PowerBook G4 1.33 Ghz. The instructions on the Apple website are for the 1 Ghz model and there is this slot thingy to the left of the NUM LOCK key. There is no such slot on mine so I have no clue how to install. And the replacement keyboard didn't come with instructions either. It seems that the entire case is one piece and the keyboard is embedded within. I tried pulling it up but I don't want to break it.
HELP. I have no key cap for L or F7 and C is on it's way out and I'm on deadline. Of course, it's Saturday as well.

Try the service manual which you can find here:

  • Does anyone know where I can get a replacement keyboard for my imac G5 power PC purchased in December 2005

Does anyone know where in the UK or Ireland I can get a replacement keyboard for my imac G5 power PC purchased in December 2005. Running Mac OSX 10.4.1.1?

Not sure where in Ireland to look, but be aware that SOME Apple Aluminum boards will work with 10.4.11. The first Al boards and those through the first few months of 2011 were compatible with any Mac running OS 10.4.11 and having USB ports. Then they changed them to require 10.6.8 for full function.
The ones compatible with 10.4.11 (MB110LL/A) have the icon for Dashboard on the F4 key; the later ones (MB110LL/B) have an icon consisting of six tiny rectangles grouped to form a larger rectangle. The keyboard boxes are nearly identical except for:
the system requirements printed on the front panel
the back panel on the first model reads "Keyboard" where the newer model reads "Keyboard with Numeric Keypad."
When looking for older parts, always consider a Mac User Group:

  • Replacement keyboard for model 2000-104CA??

    Hello all,
I need to replace the keyboard on:
    The model is: 2000-104CA
    Product: LV987UA#ABC
    Rev. : 3577-100
#1. Can someone please tell me what the keyboard part # is?
#2. I tried removing the keyboard (after the fact) and the video instructions, located here: http://h20574.www2.hp.com/results.htm?SID=5059088&MEID=FAA31BDC-56B6-472D-BA7B-4295B0216628 seem incorrect.
The instructions state to remove 1 5mm P1 screw, then press down with a probe tool in the hole indicated. All I ended up doing with pushing out the "insert" key. I can slightly lift that top side of the keyboard but there is definitely something locking down the keyboard around speaker mute/speaker + function keys.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you
