  • Satelite L645 doesn't recognise the internal CD/DVD Drive

thing is,  this computer a Satelite L634 SP4019M doesn't recognise the internal CD/DVD drive, not even as an unocupied drive in the "My Computer" folder (just the C: drive is displayed). I have searched and I don't think I will find drivers for this online... what else can I do?
Does it has anything to do with this very same computer not recognising it's own touchpad as well? (I use an external mouse, to compensate)

    Good for you.
In case somebody viewing this doesn't understand what happened (I don't), the usual fix is here.

  • Satellite L310-D4010: OS has become dead slow while using the CD/DVD drive

    Dear all,
I has bought Toshiba Satellite L310-D4010 at chennai, India.
It has 2GB RAM and 1.83 GHz Intel Core2 Duo Processor.
But my system has become *dead slow* while i am using the optical drive i.e., when i am writing a disk and copying the content form the disk.
I was not able to open any application while i am using the DVD drive.
Please guide me to resolve this problem.
    Thanking you.

For me it is also logic that notebook performance goes down when I copy a lot of data. To be honest when I use some burning application to save data on CD or DVD I leave it running till the end and avoid usage of other applications while burning procedure is active. All I do at the same time is surfing in Internet.
I cannot imagine you are not able to start some applications. Maybe notebook needs some more time to start application but it must work.
At the end I must say that 2 GB RAM for Vista notebook is for me really the minimum and if possible I recommend you to upgrade RAM if possible. This notebook model is not known to me and max RAM for this model is not known to me but I presume the 4 GB should not be the problem.

  • Seeking a used CD/DVD drive for satelite 1700

    Hi there,
I'm looking for a used CD/DVD maximum 24x speed, 8x speed, 5.25 inch drive for the Satelite S1700-500 Laptop.
If anyone has it or knows where to find one, please contact me!
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark
Stuff like this you can find on some online marketplace like ebay. There you can find a lot of used hardware components. Before you buy something check exactly which components will work properly with your notebook.
And now the final question. How you want to make that 5.25 inch drive works properly with your S1700?

  • Satelite P100-197: Geforce 7600 GO driver update - games won't run

    Hello,
Is there an update for this graphic card which goes with my Satelite p100 - 197 ? I got many problem with most of games. They won't launch.

    Hi
I think the all the Toshiba graphic drivers you will find on the driver page.
But mostly the drivers on the card manufacture are newer.
The problem is that mostly the drivers from the graphic card manufacture cannot be installed on the notebook.
In my knowledge the Toshiba drivers are a little bit modified because of the graphic card overheating.
I have read that sometimes the drivers from the omega site could help to start and play games. But I think you can do it at your own risk.

  • Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered - Intel HD (Satelite P75-A7200)

I am trying to play minecraft on my Toshiba Satelite P75-A7200 running Windows 10 preview build 10130 . The game starts up ok and I can start playing it but then, anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 minutes later the Minecraft window locks up. It shows a "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" error in the lower right of my laptop screen. The Java Platform SE binary process shows as not responding when I open task manager. I have tried updating drivers direct from Intel, The latest would not install onto Windows 10 (Not a valid OS), Changing the Windows TDR timeout in the registry to 8 (no effect), and simply deleting the display devices and file associated with them and allowing the system to add them back. I am out of ideas at this point. Please help.

When I first got my P750, right out of the box I was having the same type of issue you are describing here. Only mine had to do with playing a dvd in the Toshiba DVD player. Regardless, after many attempts to fix the issue, the following shows a method of how I was able to fix it. It may or may not work for you, all I can say is it worked for me.http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Video-Display/Display-driver-error/m-p/299816 My solution is down near the bottom of page 2 and basically it had to do with Nvidia and Intel driver compatibility. I hope this helps.

  • Re: Need Windows 7 driver for Statelite L310 Laptop

    Hey, All,
I've juz format my Toshiba Statelite L310 Lapotop to Windows 7, but my bluetooth & other device cant be function anymore...
Anyone know where can get the Wins 7 driver?
    Thx a lot

    Hi
I doubt the Win XP drivers will work for Win 7 OS.
I made some experience with Vista drivers on Win 7 and many Vista drivers worked using Win 7 but didnt notice that any Win XP drivers would work using Win 7.

  • Partition hard drive on Satelite

I bought a Toshiba Satelite running Windows 8 brand new less than a week ago.  I am extremely familiar with computers.  I consider myself expert level.  I type this to avoid the silly basic questions from helpful souls not because I am mean but because they don't apply here.  Having typed that I will eat those words but I will stand behind them for now.
My goal is to double boot the computer & use it as a mobile lab if you will.  I will use some flavor of UNIX as the second OS.  What I'm hoping someone will do is respond to this and provide how they got around using the Toshiba recovery disks to utilize the Windows 8 OS that is present in those disks.  I can wipe the drive clean easy enough with the UNIX USB stick or CD that I build.  However, I don't have a Windows 8 CD laying around & I would like to use what I have paid for, i.e. the Windows 8 license that is permanently stored in the Toshiba hardware infrastructure.
If someone can answer how they already did this OR point me to the appropriate department at Toshiba for support, it would be appreciated.
    Thanks

KK, I have an ISO burned & verified that it is bootable.  I can partition from that disc.  I didn't proceed because I don't have GRUB prepared.  The UEFI messes up the bootable paradigm bigtime.  I don't anticipate too many problems but I was surprised because the Ubuntu community didn't have the issue tackled & user friendly yet.
The last time I tackled this issue, I was running Windows 98 on a Compaq purchased brand new (for about $500.00 more than this one) and although I learned a great deal, the learning curve was oh so painful.  I never could get certain drivers to work.  As I recall it was the NIC.  Eventually the CD drive wore out.  I am convinced I flogged it to death attempting to install a version of BSD that would allow the NIC to function.  Linux had the driver but BSD didn't.
This time the paradigm is much more user friendly.  I have a high regard for Toshiba computers.  When I supported Windows for MS, the rate of Toshiba callers was dramitically less than other manufacturers.  And, I'm not running an OS that is in the back of the pack.  Windows 8 is the latest greatest, well the latest anyway.  I still prefer 7.
Thanks again for your help & patience.

  • Toshiba Satelite C75D-A7370 Cannot Recognize Crucial M500 SSD drive

    Goal:
I got a Toshiba Satelite C75D-A7370 laptop and I upgraded from the internal HDD to an internal SSD drive.
It is a Crucial M500 with 240GB SSD drive. Crucial says it is compatible with the Satelite model.
    Problem:
When I enter the BIOS, Main-->HDD/SSD does not detect the connected SSD.  Any help?
    Troubleshoot:
In the BIOS, I did the following:
    Turn off Secure Boot
Advanced System Configuration: Switch Boot Mode from UEFI Boot to CSM Boot
Advanced System Configuration: SATA Controller Mode is set to AHCI
The laptop already has the latest version of BIOS:
    InsydeH2O Rev. 3.7
    System BIOS Version 1.4
    EC Version 1.20
If I put the SSD drive in an external case with USB, Windows 8.1 can use the SSD drive as a USB drive. So I know the drive is working.
Thanks in advance for your help.

So close. But I spoke too soon.
Check disk won't work. I tried scheduling it from the My Computer window or through an elevated command prompt (chkdsk /f /r).  No luck.  I've got the error message. I can post that later.  The very last line is this...
    766f6c756d652e63 3f1
Did chkdsk /f /r from the rescue disk command line.  No change.
It counts down 10 seconds and starts to check disk. It errors out right away.
From the rescue disk, startup repair.  That was fine, but didn't change the check disk results.
The Microsoft Fixit I found earlier didn't do anything. I think it only checked for updates.
Could be Norton Internet Security, although I doubt it.
When I put the Crucial SSD in I did a quick ntfs format and named that volume C.  In diskpart, I noticed the system reserved 100MB partition was letter C.  I think the main hard partition was D.  I switched the system 100MB to T and made the main partition C.  Within Windows, the servered reserved partition didn't have any letter -- except I did put a letter on it in diskpart from the rescue disk.
I just tried within Windows, making 100MB T.  And then I removed it. That was someone's solution online.

  • Hard drive replacement-Satelite M35X-S114

I have a Satelite M35X-S114.  It currently has a 40 gb hard drive.  I would like to upgrade it to at least 250 gb.  Is this possible, or will it only recognize up to 137 gb?

Toshiba never published any information about the BIOS in that machine (or any other, for that matter), so it's not possible to tell ahead of time.  There's enough traffic here that maybe someone who has hands on experience can reply.  There is always BIOS overlay software that can make a larger drive work.

  • Satelite L30-114: Driver Not Intended For This Platform when IDE controller installing

HEllo! I have Satelite L30-114 which i purchase about month ago.I have Win XP SP2 with all updates, and bios 2.3.
Couple days ago i tried to reinstall drivers for ide controllers. I have delited them in "device manager" and restart system. after boot windows normally found both PCI IDE controllers, installed them, then found ide channels (primary and secondary ide channal on ich) and here strange thing happens: instead of normal installation of these 4 channels the window appears "Driver Not Intended For This Platform". and after every reboot these devices trying to install, giving me 4 windows "Driver Not Intended For This Platform".
Now in device manager i have 2 normal standart IDE Controllers, and 4 don't working IDE channels with yelow "!". The funniest is that i was not installing new ide drivers.Drivers are same that was working before reinstall. Now computer working, but worth than before. on the toshiba site there is no Ide driver "Intended For This Platform".
Did somebody know how can i fix it? or where is such driver located? or what model of chipset whith this controller used in this notebook?

    Hello
In my opinion there was no reason to do something like that. If notebook works well let it go. Go to Toshiba download page and download chipset driver for your notebook model and install it manually.

  • Satelite A100-564: need a newest graphic card driver

    Hi
I can't update my Ati 200M display driver only to 6.14.10 and thats driver is very old.
I have found a new driver on ATI's homepage but it dosen't work. Only the driver from Toshiba work.
Both are very old? I have try over 10 drivers.
The driver on Toshiba.com support is 8.126 but the 2D driver and the control driver is only 6.14.
But why cant I download a driver from ATI.COM?
And little question; can I change graphics card in my Satelite A100-564 to a bigger ?

    Here two short aswers;
    1) The drivers from the ATI websites are NOT designed for the mobile graphic cards equipped in the Toshiba notebooks.
You can find this info on the ATI page:
+All driver and technical support for products is provided by the original laptop or notebook manufacturer. The drivers that are available for download at ati.amd.com are for desktop products only.+
The Toshiba graphic driver are designed especially for the Toshiba notebooks and its very important that you would use these drivers to prevent the hardware from overheating and damage!!!
    2) The notebooks graphic cards are not upgradeable! The chips are fixed and mostly soldered on the board and cannot be removed easily.
    Bye

  • Video driver for the Satelite Pro A40

I have been to the Toshiba Support site for drivers/downloads. The graphics adapter is the Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Card.
Presently, the device manager reads: version 6.14.10.4656 dated 8/01/2006 by Microsoft Corporation XDDM.
Although I believe I've researched it properly, I am not sure that this is the most current driver update.
On a related note... It would be much more efficient if the Toshiba server were configured for users to connect and get lists of appropriate updates.
    Much thanks for any guidance

May I ask you what problems youve got?
Are there any strange issues with your notebook which are related to the graphic driver?
No? So why a graphic driver is so important?
Anyway its always advisable to use the drivers from the Toshiba driver website.
If you want to use an driver from Intel page then you can do this only at your own risk.
    Cheers

On my notebook (Sattelite p10) is Windows 2000 Professinal running, but the DVD Ram driver from the Toshiba Homepage does not work...
Where I can get a driver which is working on my notebook?

    Hi Val,
The correct driver for your notebook running Wnidows 2000 should be version 3.0.8.0 and is available for download from the Toshiba website.
I presume that this is the one which you have tried, so I am not sure what you mean when you say that 'it doesn't work'.
