Try to use it with reduced performance.
Is the same situation there?
It is not easy to say what is wrong there but if you think something is wrong there please contact nearest service provider and let them check your notebook.
They can test it in idle state and running under pressure.
Here on the forum we can just discuss and speculate why this happen but it will not help you at all.
Contact service and show them how it works. I am pretty sure they will have final answer for you.

  • Hi could anyone help me with my toshiba satellite m305d-s4830

hi im johann from the philippines my laptop (a toshiba satellite m305d-s4830) came from the u.s. from my cousin and i don't have much support from toshiba here because it does not have warranty or anything so i was wonderin about two things.. first i wanted to upgrade the hdd of my laptop.. toshiba here does not have anything greater than 320gb but computer shops here have mobile sata hdds up to 500gb.. i'm planning to a 500gb but the catch is i would have to change the hdd on my own.. if that happens if i use the recovery disk would it install the windows vista it came with my laptop or would it be better if i just backup the current hdd and copy it to the new one as a ghost or something?  the next question is about readyboost.. i currently have 4gb of ram and that's the max for my laptop right? so i was wondering if readyboost would help me if i attach a 8gb flash drvie with readyboost? i'm using vista home premium 64bit.. thnx

    Satellite M305D-S4830
if i use the recovery disk would it install the windows vista it came with my laptop or would it be better if i just backup the current hdd and copy it to the new one as a ghost or something?
    Your choice, Johann.
You could use a program like Acronis' True Image to back up your entire drive (all partitions) to an external drive and later boot from a CD and restore to the new drive. This approach would include all data, applications, updates, and setting of course.
That should work seamlessly for most applications, though one or two may require reactivation.
i currently have 4gb of ram and that's the max for my laptop right? so i was wondering if readyboost would help me if i attach a 8gb flash drvie with readyboost?
4 GB of RAM is really a great deal! I doubt that you will be using more than a fraction of it. Typically, 2 GB is the sweet spot for Windows Vista.
In any case, I don't recommend ReadyBoost. It doesn't improve performance much.

  • Where to find Win XP 64bit Power Management/Saver for Satellite M305D-S4830

I was able to fully load Windows XP 64bit onto my Satellite M305D-S4830 with all drivers.
Everything is working great except for my battery not lasting very long.
I have searched but haven't been able to find a working copy of Toshiba Power Saver that will work on my laptop with XP 64.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hi!
I think you will not find a 64bit version from Toshiba Power Saver.
Toshiba does not support XP 64bit so are no 64bit software available.
You must use the settings from Windows or you change to Vista 64bit. Vista has more options to save energy and its the same like Power Saver.
    Bye

  • I need motherboard for Satellite M305D-S4830

    Hi Mr/Mrs,
I have a question about my Toshiba Laptop.
Last summer I bought Toshiba M305D-S4830 from BestBuy in USA. (Now I'm in Turkey)
Unfortunately, when I tried to start my laptop, there was nothing. After then, I figure whats happened out.
Now, my mother board is not working properly.
Thats why I need "M305D-S4830" Mother Board Model. Can you help me about this, please?
    Thanks.
    Cuneyt Ay.

As far as I know the notebooks have 1 year international warranty.
But therefore I would contact your local ASP. Have did this?
Maybe the ASP in your country can order this part for you
In worst case you must sent the notebook to an ASP in USA.

  • Re: Sattelite M305D-S4830 Volume Dial Strange Behavior

Hello, I am having a strange issue with my volume control dial on the Satellite M305D-S4830. I am not sure when this error began happening, but now my volume control dial produces the letters C and B when I roll it clockwise/counterclockwise. here, I'll roll it cw/c-cw right now:
    ccccccccccccbccccccccccccccccccccbbccccc
It produces the b's less often than the c's as you can see. Also, it does adjust volume bar but erratically: when I roll it clockwise it decreases the volume and then sharply increases the volume immediately. Rotating it counter-clockwise does increase the volume sharply and sometimes it decreases the volume a little bit.
I have the latest drivers for my Satellite and have not altered the OS or Services (such as HID Input service) in any way. I have tried using a previous driver version for the sound but this has not changed anything. Thanks for your time.

    Hi
Someone had a similar issue. I read about this here in one of threads (if you want use the search option).
The point is that the technician has cleaned the volume wheel (contacts, etc...) and this solves this issue.
I dont know if this is a same reason in your case but its worth a try
Note; dont disassemble the notebook or similar!!! This can be done ONLY by ASP due to some hardware damage and warranty validity!
PS: Of course the BIOS update is advisable too.

  • Help me! Having CPU Cooling problems!

    Howdy
I'm having serious problems with my P.C. I have recently upgraded my PC's processor from a celeron 2 ghz to Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz 478Pin 1Mb Cache 800MHz FSB Processor Prescott, I Installed the processor with the standard Intel Heatsink and core centre was telling me that the CPU was running at around 59+ degrees celcius 138+ degrees farenheit at idle.
I thought that this was a little hot at my celaron didn't push past 45 degrees c. while idling
I thought nothing of it putting it down to faster cpu high temperature... I decided to run a game to see the difference my hard earned cash had made, the first thing that came to hand was "The Sims 2" which ran perfectly on my celaron if not a little boggy at times.
The game booted quicker and i got into a game to see how much smoother it was running and the game hung.
I thought that maybe it was a because it had a new processor and it needed a reboot, which i did and i checked out the game again and it did exactly the same thing.
I thought that maybe the cpu was getting a bit hot so i turned the machine off and went out the next day to purchase another couple of coolingfans to create more convection in the case.
I fitted the fans dragging air from the front and the side and blowing out of the back, this had an effect on the temperature of the cpu but not by much, It was now running at 52 to 55 degrees at ldle (at the Bios)
I decided that this temperature at idle was too high and the fact that fact that it was crashing games (That my girlfriend likes to play) I thought that I would take the leap to liquid cooling so I purchased the Coolermaster Aquagate liquid cooling system I installed the system and fired my system up it was still reading at 52 degrees at the bios.
When the machine got to windows the temperature slowly increased and when I tried to run the same game it crashed ( due to what i found later was the processor throttling to prevent damage)
One thing that i found strange was the temperature on the gauge of the AQUAGATE which has a hardwire temperature sensor that sits on top of the di of the processor and that was reading around 27 degrees at the bios.
I thought that it may have been a faulty processor so i sent the processor back and recieved a replacement which had the same problem although alot worse ( 65-70 degrees at the bios)
I have sent that one back and I'm awaiting the replacement.
I would like to know if there is actually a problem with the motherboard itself or just a problem with the temperature sensor settings in the bios.
or if there is a bios update that can prevent my processor from throttling and crashing everything.
Please help as I really like this Motherboard and I can't afford to buy a new one.
    Matt

    Howdy all!
Got my chip back from novatech, I updated the Bios to V2.5, ditched Corecentre and replaced it with speed fan (pretty cool!).
Put the chip in and everything seems to be running okay...ish
The only thing that's bothering me a little is that its still posting temperatures of around 48 degrees C, at idle.
which is okay but I'm using a watercooling system so I thought that it would be a lot lower than that I am aware that Prescotts do run hot but i didn't think that it would be this hot.
Maybe I'm being dumb and this is a good temperarture but I was hoping that It may be a bit lower so I could maybe overclock it.
Could anyone suggest anything I could do to bring the temperature down a tad?
Many Thanks to Danny and Dcasole that pointed me in the right direction with the BIOS, my girlfriend can now play The Sims 2 and will stop nagging me, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • Satellite 5200-903: cooling problem error message

few minutes after booting my Satellite 5200-903 (xp home sp1)an error message apears: "Problem with the cooling system, shut down your system and send it to the service" (it's a free translation from German..) I installed a temperature checking tool, the software shows cpu temperature of about 60C, however I do not hear the fan..
    Can someone help?

    Hi
You have a good chance that it's only a cooling module.
Generally such warning message appears because the CPU cooling module cannot cool the CPU properly or it doesn't work.
However, the best way is to contact the Toshiba service partner in your country. Ask the guys for the opinion and I'm sure you will get a proper answer.
    Good luck

  • Lock up but no cooling problem solved

    Hi,
Here is an experience I'd like to share with others. Just about a month ago, I asked for help on this board because my PC locked up while PC-alert gave a CPU-temperature of only 53 degrees and a system temp of only 32 degrees.
I tried lot's of thing. bought and installed the best coolers, changed processor and more....
Now I seem to have found what the trouble was. I had a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 installed. I always had a slight problem with this card because since I installed this, I could not choose for hibernation or stand by the system because of a system lock up.
Well last week-end I removed the SB soundcard and all problems seem to be solved. I Just got my CPU temp up to 56 degrees (This took me 45 minutes of 100 % usage) and the system remained stable.
So if there are any other people having this same experience or trouble like this.
For people who have a look a like problem and want to cpmpare.
    My configuration is:
    MSI K7T Turbo R (KT133a)
    AMD XP1800+
    2 * 256 MB Kingston CL 3
    Arctic CPU Cooler
    Enermax 400 W powersupply

    I removed:

  • Cooling problems!

    Hi,
I'm having major problems with my computer overheating (mainly my graphics card) but also my CPU (AMD 2400+) runs at about 65c  . I have fitted some case fans which has helped a lot, but is it more effective to have them blowing air in, or taking the air out? At the moment I have them blowing the air into the case, but I don't wanna waste time moving them around if it's not going to help.
    Thanks

  • Cooling problems with Satellite A300-1B0: ventilator is not stopping

    Hi users,
    i m new in Linux and Ubuntu, i installed ubuntu 8.10 last week;
All things are ok, boot menu ok because i have XP, network connection ethernet and wireless, updates ok, packages ok!
just one thing that make me "" it's the cooling ventilator of my laptop, i explain :
it's turned on since i login ubuntu and it will be off only when i log off "shutt down" my laptop, so it's never stopping till
the use of ubuntu, because with xp it's start but if the processor is cold it's stop! and restart and etc.......
So if someone have an idea you're WELCOME !
    My laptop configuration :
    TOSHIBA satellite A300-1B0
    processor: core 2 duo T8100 2.1 Ghz
    RAM: 3 Go
    SATA hard drive
    ethernet Marvell Yukon 88E8040T
    Wireless Intel
and i have patched it with the last bios from toshiba site
Date of the bios publcation 07 2008 v3.7

    Hi,
I own a Toshiba Satellite A300-19T which comes with a Core 2 Duo T8100, 3Gb of RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 3650 graphics card and guess what? I'm having the same issue!
I have spent a fairly nice amount of time trying to figure out what's going on and I've been suspecting the CPU fan for a long time. I went from enumerating the custom drivers Toshiba is installing the the machine to de-compiling the ACPI table using Intel's tools: NOTHING! (expect the fact that the BIOS isn't really ACPI compliant but much more Microsoft Windows Vista only compliant).
Then I discovered that the GPU (the Radeon HD 3650) may also have a fan attached to it to cool it down, because you know, it can be such a source of heat and that noise under Linux means that the GPU fan is actually spinning all the time, non stop, causing discomfort, a lot of noise and all. To prove this, I made a simple experiment, I went back to Windows Vista and uninstalled the ATI Catalyst driver (you can reinstall them later, they are located in C:\Toshiba folder) and rebooted the machine: I had the fan spinning all the time under Vista just like Linux!
What is causing the issue is the GPU, not the CPU! and it's due to bad GPU power management on Linux since a driver doesn't exist yet. The only way to solve this is by asking Toshiba to release the documentation about the GPU power management and fan control, so that the community can write a driver for it.
Could you please confirm my finding? Which graphics card do you have installed in your laptop?
    Regards,
    Ilyes Gouta.

  • MSI GX620 Cooling Problems

    hello everyone!
i bought my MSI GX620 notebook at christmas and till now everything worked really fine. about a week ago i noticed that games, after running about 15-20 minutes, start to run slower, feels like fps would drop around 20. my first thought was the vents got too much dust, so i removed carefully the back of the notebook, so i could clean the vent a bit, but still, i got the same issues. i checked with Everest, the GPU temp is 65°C (149 °F), the CPU temp is 55°C (131°F) while doing just simple browsing. this i think is just fine. but when i start any game ( with low PC requirements too ) the GPU has 91°C and the CPU is 80°C and the framerates just drop after 15-20 mins from about 60-100 to 10-20fps. and that just started some days, maybe a week ago.
can anyone tell me what should i do or try?
thanks , and sorry for my bad english
    snuzzie

I've been having the same problem with my GX630. The thing must be really clogged because it gets extremely hot after about five minutes of moderate graphics gaming and slows to a chugging crawl. I'm assuming that the plate on the bottom of your machine is the same as on the GX630, and is pretty large with a little indent for where it's supposed to come off. Did you manage to do this?
I took out all the screws and tried to pry it open but gave up for fear of breaking the whole dang thing.
    Anyone have experience doing this?
