Satelite Pro 4600: sometimes applications stop running with new RAM

Hello all,
I was wondering if someone out there can shed some light on my problem. I've recently upgraded for an extra 256MB on my Satelite Pro 4600. The laptop showed the increase in RAM. Since installing it, for some reason after running the applications for a while(this varies between 10mins to a couple of hours since laptop start up), the applications stop running. I cannot open new applications. When I reboot, I can run the applications in my laptop as normal again.
I got my RAM from offtek. The Manufacturer's part number is the same as the one specified in my laptop manual.
Please does anyone have any idea?

My imovie application stopped working. I have reset the computer several times and it appears the application is damaged. I can enter but I no longer see my existing projects and none of the commands or icons work. The new project that I was working on is still visible but frozen. I just updated my Operating system. First Leopard and then Mountain Lion.
Any advice on what can I do to be able to restore the application and keep my existing projects?

Hi Mitch,
You should have an update for iPhoto waiting in the App Store. If you don't, go to the App Store and type iPhoto in the search bar. It should display the app, and have "Update" in the place where the price normally is.

Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, you may have to take the MBP to the Apple Store to have it checked.

That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. Resume Failure Satelite Pro 4600

Hi
i'm getting a "Resume Failure Press any key to continue" message each time i powere up my Satelite Pro 4600. It then stays on a blank screen and i'm unable to do anything. Has anyone any suggestions as to how to resolve this?

check to see if the BIOS is set to RESUME (function that remember were you shut down and continue from that same place).
Do this: When the TOSHIBA-logo is shown be very very quick to press the ESC-key a few time.
You should get an error message and press F1 to come into BIOS. Look for Power-up mode, (or something very similar). Set it to BOOT.
If it is already set to BOOT or it does not help, try pressing the reset button when the screen is blank as you say. You should find it on the, I think, left side of the machine. Look close at the sides. You should find a small hole.

I guess you need not use the library. The note says its a problem with library.
It applies to you if you use custom framework page other than standard framework page.
SAP can give you better response on why only one user gets it. In my scenario, we are able to consistently reproduce this.
And I guess most of the bugs will have similar statements attached 'it occurs only for one user'.

BO Explorer Indexing Schedules running on a regular basis suddenly stop running with no error

BO Explorer Indexing Schedules running on daily suddenly stop running,
schedule doesn't trigger even with new infospace indexing and also checked by re-schedule.
manual indexing works good, no issue with infospace.
we are using BO4.1 SP2.1 clustered environment and all the Explorer server are exist in one node.
Server restarting everyday.
anybody have experienced this issue before? could you please support us to resolve this issue

I found one of the note (0001749028) related to similar issue, workaround mentioned in this note is applicable to BI 4.0 SP7 or BI 4.1 SP1
But our system is BO4.1 SP02 patch1. can we apply workaround mentioned in 0001749028 to BO4.1 SP02 also?

Of course you can install the Win XP on this notebook.
I think you didnt read any threads here in the forum regarding such theme.
Am I right? I think you should take a little bit time and should read some threads here

Running with New Nano?!

I cried on Christmas morning when I got my Nano! Truly I did. I cried today when I saw they changed the design. Why would Apple change a winner?! Did anyone do Focus Group Research to see if this new product was user friendly to runners? If you hold generation 2 in your hand while you run, you can easily manipulate the wheel to change a song. The sleek design of Generation 2 is very user friendly for runners. No pockets? Gen 2...no problem. Does anyone know about the new design and running with Gen 3?

I have big hands so I actually find the wider body of the 3G much easier to hold. Like the 2G they are still 0.26 deep. Just a little shorter and a little wider.
The 3G has a better hand feel for me, but like all things preferences are an individual matter. As was mentioned above though. It is worthwhile visiting your local store and spending a little time with them. You may find you like it

Screen is Ok, but games are running with less RAM

I bought 2014 january released ipad Air (32GB Cellular model) 2 days back, screen was good but when playing games (like Angry birds, Hey Day) the pictues are running very less RAM (it means, the number of frames running per second is very less, even for offline games also). I returned this unit for service. I dont expect this type of worst Quality Issue from Apple, when seeing this forum it seems Apple will loose their product market very soon.

In fact, it doesn't even get to the point of asking for a password. It just tries and tries and tries to connect until it times-out saying the server is offline, that is false because screen sharing works fine right after. Could it be some sort of keychain conflict with my dad's MBP's password? (The iMac being the family computer, and me and my dad each have a MBP) The passwords and computer names are different though.

Satellite L30 10Y doesn't boot with new RAM modules

just regged with this forum as I am having a memory upgrade problem.
I have read through a few of the memory problems on here and all users say its a comaptible memory issue. I had Hynix 512MB RAM in my laptop and I purchased 2 x 1GB of Hynix memory both of these are matching sticks to the installed memory but when I installed them my laptop wouldnt boot at all. It would only boot if I had one stick in at a time.
I tried switching top and btm ports and even when one stick was installed it says in XP, Vista and Windows 7 (yes I have tried all systems) 896MB available. I even tried using my other Hynix stick but it only booted and showed the highest stick of 1GB (896MB usable in Windows 7). After reading all the threads I'm just wondering if this is a hardware fault or is there a fix in the Toshiba world or perhaps in the Toshiba world the L series is nearly obselete and not worth the bother to help out the people who unwittingly bought thier merchandise.
I apologise for being a bit down on Toshiba but a laptop which states what it can run and doesnt a company should hold its hand up and say yes there is a fault and help deal with the problem.

You are seeing 896MB because the rest is reserved for the Graphics Card VRAM.
Sometimes RAM can simply be not compatible, due to timing incompatibilities or RAM chip/controller design differences.
What speed and timing is your original RAM?

IMac G5 17" won't boot with new RAM

I tried to install 2 GB RAM into an iMac G5 17" - the computer won't boot at all. The sticks are fine (DDR PC3200 - tried them in a different computer), I reset the PRAM, all to no avail. With the original 256 MB stick, it boots fine, but with the new sticks in either slot or together, all I get is a black screen, no tone, and the fan goes on high. The firmware is up to date. What next?

I have a similar issue with my i5 since installing an additional 4GB (2x2GB) RAM from OWC. It runs fine normally, but if I ever need to reboot the iMac, it usually hangs at a black screen and never chimes. I have to pull the RAM, reset them and then it'll boot. I wonder if there is some timing tolerance problem with mixing RAM (with Apple's Samsung pair).
This morning (after installing 10.6.6) it wouldn't come out of sleep and I had to pull the RAM again. That's actually the first time it wouldn't come out of sleep.

Constant Kernel Panics.. even with new RAM?

So I was at the genius bar yesterday and they told me they were going to run a huge diagnostic test on my late 2008 Macbook Pro. They assumed it was the RAM and gave me good info on where to order it from. I ordered 8gb RAM because I figured, why not upgrade?
They called me today, said it was the RAM malfunctioning. I go back to the store, they put in the new RAM.. I come home and everything is GREAT. woohoo! and then... a few hours later, it started again. I mean really?
I just added 8gb new RAM and am still having kernel panics. what is going on?
It's so random. and It doesn't make much sense.
Any advice, anyone?

Problems with new RAM

I bought new ram for my macbook Unibody (7.1) to update from 2gb (2x1Gb) to 4gb (2x2Gb). I replaced the old ram to the new ones, but when I turn the computer on it produces five beeps and continues doing that until I turn it off. But when I put one 1gb old ram in one slot and in the other slot a 2gb new ram it works perfectly and it says that I have 3gb (that means that the computer also recognized the new ram).
The new ram came from a mac mini, and they are 1333mhrz while the old ones are 1066mhrz, but I heard that when the ram admits more speed than the slot speed they can be used with te speed from the computer (if my macbook has 1066mhrz slots, then, the 1333mhrz ram will work at 1066).
Can you help me?

Macs are notoriously 'picky' about RAM memory timing!
Although what you suggest about RAM timing might work in SOME computers, your Mac obviously does not work with the 'faster' RAM inserted in both memory slots, hence the black screen and 5 beeps.
Indeed, some sellers label faster RAM with a slower spec, and indeed some computers don't have a problem with that, but it is not true in this case.
You have several options:
1. Go back to the original 2x1GB RAM modules.
2. Use one of the 2GB with an original 1GB module for a 3GB configuration. It's still a 50% increase in available RAM for your system from 2GB. If you start getting frequent Kernel Panics, that is an indication that the faster 2GB RAM just won't work in your system.
3. Purchase two of the correct RAM modules with the proper specs. Your Unibody can hold 8GB or even 16GB if you're running OS X 10.7 or newer: http://blog.macsales.com/16302-some-2010-mac-owners-can-get-more-ram-than-they-t hought
