Satelite Pro L670 - Sound Issues

Hi I am really hoping that someone might be able to give me some ideas on what to do...
My speaker icon in the system tray keeps coming up with a little red cross and I get to audio, when it first started happening I would reboot the system and it would work the next time but now it doesn't.
I have tried downloading new drivers from the toshiba site, from the realtek site, have even tried the new BIOS on the toshiba page but still no luck.
The device manager says that it is all working fine, but it's not actually working..
Gotta say that I am really disappointed with this toshiba laptop... I have only had it since late january and it has already been in the shop for over a month with a charging issue and when they sent it back to me it had no harddrive in it - they had lost it!!! :( Now the keys are sticking and now the sound is playing up!
I think I may go back to a MacBook.
If anyone can offer any other suggestions about the sound issue it would be greatly appreciated...

At the same time is sound card listed in device manager properly or also with a little red cross?
As Keany wrote, please post some information about your operating system. Probably it has something to do with OS and hardware is working properly.
In your case I would also try a registry cleaner like CCleaner. This tools works really well and can delete old/wrong registry keys. Thats also important if you install new drivers. This freeware tool you can find using Google.

MacBook Pro Retina Sound Issues

Hi folks,
I used my MacBook Pro Retina with no difficulties over the last 2 month,
but recently I have experienced some sound problems.
Often, when I just want to play a video on YouTube or listen to some
music, the sound stops for a blink of an eye or is crackling throughout the
song or video.
It sounds a bit like the soundcard is having difficulties to play back the
sound, but I don't think a normal iTunes Song is causing this.
I furthermore imagine, that some driver is not running properly or
the threads for audio output are disturbing each other.
But I have absolutely no clue, what the cause is.
Maybe someone else experienced the same.
I would be grateful for any help.
Ps: I have the MacBook Pro Retina Mid 2012 (2,6 GHZ; 16 GB RAM; 512 GB SSD) Version,
if this is any hint.

Im terrifyed right now. I just got home, sat down and plugged my headphones into my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro Retina to start producing some music. As fast as I adjusted the volume on the MB a loud noise was heard in the right ear. I played a song in iTunes to discover that the sound was slightly distorted and very noisy in the right ear while you could hear the music normally in the left ear. I switched between an additional pair of headphones and a pair of speakers but got the same result. I checked the preferences and rebooted the MB without any luck.
I have two theories why Im having this problem. Earlier today I plugged my computer into a soundcard via 1/8 RCA-cables, allowing me to play music through my schools monitors. The soundcard had Phantom Power enabled but I disabled it quickly when I realized. The cable I used was also a bit dodgy, it was noisy and didnt work properly. Could this malfunctioning cable or the fact that I Phantom-powered my MB have fried my AUDIO JACK?! I contacted my teacher but he said that this cant be the reason for my issue.
My other theory, and this is the one I beg to be the reason behind the problem, is that a software update caused the issue. A couple of hours ago I updated my MBs software. I dont remember what kind of update it was though, probably quite a few since I havent done it for a while. I read on some forums that people have had problems with the retina MB and the sound after certain updates. Could this be the reason?
Im frustrated, frightened and very eager to make some techno. Any help or tips would be eternally appreciated!

Satelite Pro L300 - BIOS Issues

I know how to use bios and there are a few values that i need to change in bios, but no matter what i press i cant get it to enter bios. The computer itself has no issues loads fine just cant bring up Bios no matter what i press. Its driving me mental.
I've tried the follow
F1
F2
Esc
Delete
All at different times, or held for different times. Is there some mixture of bottoms i've got to press?

Press F2 when you see the Toshiba Slashscreen.
If you shut down in Suspend or Hibernation Mode, you cannot enter the BIOS. So ensure you shut down Windows completely.
You can also change the BIOS settings in Toshiba Assist or HWSetup.

Sound issues with MacBook Pro

I am experiencing sound issues with my MacBook Pro. I am using a headset and when I am on a skype calsl I have a hard time hearing the other person, the sound is coming in and out and sounds digitized. This issue only started recently, the sound had been working fine for years before this issue.

After going through the issues with apple support, they decided the best course of action was to erase the hard drive and do a reinstall. Since I have a recent backup this seemed like a good enough option. They were kind enough to send me a copy of the snow leopard disk to do the install since we couldn't get it to complete through the disk utility. Not sure why, since it says we are fully connected, it just never completed.
Anyway, so now that you have the background here is the new issue. The macbook pro keeps spitting out the disk I'm trying to install from. Disk utility and using the 'Startup Disk' function from the apple menu doesn't read the disk.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this vexing problem?

Satelite Pro 6000: no sound - red x in device manager

Hi I have a laptop buying on Ebay last year and now I have some problem with my Base system mechanism.
On the system management there is a red X?
And I search to a driver here but I can't find.
I have a Satelite Pro SP 6000.

O and because of this problem I haven't sound.
I need drivers for this Base system mechanism.

I have a Dutch windows XP and I thought that I write it right in English.
In Dutch it is the "Base system apparaat" maybe then the transelate is Base system device but I don't know.
When I say it to another nobody knows what is a Base system apparaat.
But my Toshiba Satelite Pro have it and doesn't have drivers for it.
I look at this site by downloads but ye what would I take base system is not there.

Asus VH242 Sound issues with Macbook Pro

Does anyone know how to configure the MacBook Pro to make the sound come out of an ASUS display's speakers?
I have a ASUS VH242 display with internal speakers. With a laptop the Display's internal speakers work but not with my Macbook Pro. the sound comes out of the closed Mac.
FYI - I am using the little connecter that Apple sell to connect the display & i'm on OS 10.7.2

My Dell PC (for work) uses the speakers in the Asus Display and my Mac won't. I'd like to have the sound come from the Display with the Mac also as the sound is not as good due to closing the lid.
Macbook Pro 15" bought on 17-Aug-2010 in an Apple store in NY (I'm don't know how to find the year on the Mac)
The connector was bought from Apple but can't find it (bought in the last two years). It is almost the Apple Micro DVI to DVI Adapter (although the rectangular female display connection is flush with the housing, like the "Mini DisplayPort to Dual link DVI Adapter" is).

VOIP Sound Issues

Hi I have a new MacBook Pro and am experiencing terrible sound issues with both iChat and my VOIP. I use a belkin router for the Linksys modem from Verizon.
1. Will speakers help with the iChat Sound
2. What router do you recommend for VOIP. Will Airport Extreme work?
3. Any tips for getting this working right?

Please describe your sound issues in more detail. What exactly do you hear or don't you hear?

AIR 3 ios sound issues

hey all
i am using the AIR 3 sdk overlayed Flash Pro 5.5 and i am having 2 sound issues:
first of all, my iPhone 3g's physical mute/silent button does not affect my app, and it should
secondly, the app records sound from the microphone when the user presses a button,
but on playback (with another button) you can hear that the sound is missing half a second or so from the beginning
this does not happen when testing on the desktop
any ideas?

AIR-3 have disabled it. Now you have to use a Native Extension to see if mute or not, and thus able to control it sounds like they sound and what not. I am using a Native Extension own and works perfectly.

I do not have this problem when listening to TV or watching movies streamed from DishNetwork. I contacted Netflix and they had me install a newer version of their software Silverlight... this did nothing to resolve the issue. They were not familiar with the issue.

Well if your on 10.6.2, you need to software update to 10.6.8
Perhaps you need to adjust the Silverlight (Microsoft DRM video plug-in) sound level itself too
Run a check here to see if your current on your Silverlight (works for all browsers)

Use another browser like Firefox and see if it continues.
Try another video file. They all have their own sound levels too.

Sound issue on hp 2313ax

I have purchased this laptop in the feb , till now I havent got any solution of my sound issue in 2313ax
The problem is quite different , my laptop came with free dos , when I installed windows 8 64 bit ( pro ) , there is distortion in sound while playing any song or playing a game , the distortion is like a glitch or electrical distrubance and happens every now and then , it very frustating .
But the interesting part is when I installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit , no problem at all , sound issue is like it never existed.
When I called up the HP customer care , they were telling me that this model has different motherboard for win7 and win8 , to be honest I havent heard such a ridiculous excuse , how is this possible ?
And even if this model has different motherboards for different OS , HP should mention it at the site too in the specifications .
Irony is that when you try to download the drivers for this laptop , you will find that it is given only for winodws 8 . LOL
And they say we have different motherboards for win 7 and win8 .
Anyways , also one issue that bugs me , in windows 7 in dxdiag , video memory is shown 993 mb only
windows 8 it was showing correct around 5048 mb .
This forum is my last hope , dont know what to do ?

Vista SP 1 Sound Issues with Creative Drivers

Hi all, I recently switched to a X-Fi Elite Pro, with a Nvidia Video Card.
Windows Vista SP (32bit)
Intel Pentium D .8 Ghz
2gb RAM
XFX GeForce 8600 GT 52mb running
Creative X-Fi Elite Pro
(it's been a while since I've needed this kind of support so let me know if more info is needed)
Anyways, from the moment Vista plays the logon sound there is static crackling and chirping noises whenever there is audio playing at the same time as any kind of visual change on the screen (not every screen update). For example videos on websites that play them as plugins are especially static-y. However, playing a fullscreen game (i.e. World of Warcraft) does not produce the static.
Interestingly, I have now tried two different video cards. The Nvidia and now a ATI Radeon, both have the same identical problem. I first thought that it might just be a Nvidia Issue but this is not the case
I have checked for IRQ conflicts and none exist that I can find. I have updated Windows as much as I think I can. I've tried changing Creative drivers as well.

Battery does not charge when my Satelite Pro L500 is off

Hi.
I have a Satelite Pro L500. Normally when it is plugged in the DC in and Battery led lights are lit up. Now both are off when it is plugged in and the computer is off. I have found that in this state the battery is not charged. The computer will not switch on while the power is plugged in. If I remove the power source and wait a few mins the computer will now switch on and opperate normally.
If I now plug in the power the leds are lit and the battery is charged

Hm. You mean the notebook does not boot up when AC adaptor is connected but it powers up if the AC adaptor is not connected?
Looks like an hardware issue maybe power supply electronic problem
Of course the AC adaptor should be checked too
L500 is not a very old notebook series and I think the warranty should still be valid
In such case everything should be covered by warranty so dont loose the time and get in contact with an ASP technician

[Solved] Dominator Pro 2PE sound problem

Because i dont want to hear my laptop while playing i bought headset Takstar pro 80. So the problem is that in some games like Dota 2 or StarCraft 2 they are doing high voltage noise, other game dont. I have the newest drivers with Relatek HD Audio manager, and other drivers from Live Updater. In other head phones i dont have that problem. My Takstar pro 80 work perfect with other computers. I was looking for some options in windows manager of this sounds things, and it didnt see there my headset. Other than Takstar pro 80 too, but it send the sound to them.

The Live update is not for MSI NB, so it'll not direct you to the correct driver.
Make sure you download and install all drivers from the MSI webiste download page of your model.
As for the sound issue, what's the audio driver version you're using?
Install the latest one from the download page and see if the sound still remains.
