Satelitte 1410 s102 - drivers needed

Hi
I need advise asap guys!
I am about to format the above laptop. I no longer have the drivers for it however and will not be using the Recovery CD.
Therefore can someone please tell me which drivers I will need for all the fuctions to be as normal. I.E. Which ones will a full XP install not include.
Also how the hell to do you make these things boot from a CD? Can I get into the BIOS and chage the boot series?
Cheers
GS

I'm no techie but there's probably few around at this time on a Saturday night/Sunday morning so hope this helps.
These instructions are from the Instruction Manual. If you don't have one why don't you download a copy?
1. Load the Product Recovery CD-ROM in the drive and turn off the computers power.
2. Hold down the C key and turn on the power. When the Toshiba logo appears, release the C key.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
That is for the Product Recovery CD but it should work with a bootable Windows OS CD I think.
If you are loading Windows XP it should work with the drivers on that CD I reckon, without having to load the Toshiba drivers, but if you want them I believe they're available on this site.
This link refers to Win 2000 drivers but it probably applies to Win XP as well.

    Thanks

it just depends if you have problems you have with your chipset!
if the answer is its working perfectly well and all the ports speeds are normal leave it alone and use your current ones!
if the answer is you are having issues with your USB ports or something else then update them!
(Newer drivers can sometimes induce problems with your system and it just depends if you have problems or not if its a good idea to update)

    Hi:
First install the amd chipset drivers and reboot.  You want the first file listed on the webpage.
That will install the smbus and usb 3 controllers.
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%207%20-%2032
Next install the graphics driver and reboot.
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%207%20-%2032#amd-catalyst-packages
Next, install the audio driver and reboot.  Accept the agreement.  Download and install the first driver on the list.
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...
Ethernet controller:  Download and install the first driver on the list.
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy...
    Network controller:

PCI Device:  Download and install the first driver on the list.
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=15&PFid=25&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...
I would need you to post the hardware ID's for the rest of the devices (unknown & PCI Simple Comms) in order to try and find drivers for them.
To find a hardware ID for a device, please do the following...
Go to the device manager, find the Other Devices category, and click on the Device needing drivers.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the device window.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that and select the second item on the list (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

Hi Hannah, welcome to the forums,
    you can find the drivers on the following site;
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_GB/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-77167
You could maybe save yourself some effort by installing the LAN or wireless LAN driver, (yours is Intel abg), connect to the internet and then install SystemUpdate which should get all the rest of the drivers you need.

  • 64-bit drivers needed for 7900

I just purchased and installed a MSI NX7900GTX-T2D512E video card.  This is my first experience with MSI.
I put in the installation CD and was told that my operating system isn't supported.  So, not only don't I have drivers but I don't get any of the bundled software either.
My operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Pro 64.
I've searched for drivers but haven't found any yet.  I don't see ANY on the MSI site for 64-bit.  Before I RMA this thing, can someone help me make it work?
    Additional info:
    ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard
AMD Athlon 64x2 CPU (dual core)
    (2) Kingston PC3200 1GB DIMM
WD-Raptor 10,000RPM 74GB HD connected as JBOD in SATA RAID controller as boot drive
I'm not finished building this thing and need to resolve this to either replace the video card wtih one that is compatible or make this one work so I can move on.
    Thanks in advance!

    Loader,
Just to add to what DOK said, you always want to get the latest nVidia nForce as well as ForceWare Drivers for your Mobo and Vid Card.
    Take Care,
    Richard
    Any pointers?
I have the new BIOS for the motherboard so it will work with the dual-core processor correctly.  I also have the new nVidia drivers.
The directions say to go to the new 665 drivers before updating the BIOS.  I can't figure out how to install those.
So I said the hell with it and tried to update the BIOS.  There is no BIOS update tool on the ASUS CD as it describes in the manual and the FlashBIOS tool that allows you to do it from Windows doesn't seem to be available either (I suspect it's because I'm running the 64-bit version.
    So, I'm stuck.
I'm not a rookie at this, but I's starting to feel like one!

  • Linksys Print Server EPSX3 Drivers Needed

Hello, we need Print Server drivers for the Linksys Wired Print Server, Model EPSX3, Version 1, for Windows XP Professional, X64 Edition, running on an Intel Dual Core Motherboard. We have owned this for many years and are satisfied with it's performance and would like to continue using it. The other computer running on this particular Print Server is a Compaq laptop with Intel Processor, running Windows Vista Basic (x32). The printer we are using with it primarily is a Brother HL-1440 with other printers Epson Stylus 300 Inkjet and a Citizen Dot Matrix. Thank you for your help. The regular Linksys drivers will not function with the x64 architecture. Please email privately or post on this forum.

Same as the posting for schlem1984 “Hello, we need Print Server drivers for the Linksys Wired Print Server, Model EPSX3, Version 1, for Windows XP Professional, X64 Edition, running on an Intel Dual Core Motherboard. (do not click Automatically detect.....; click Next, then Create a New Port and click Printserver into the window provided.  [Printserver will not be and option if the driver is not installed.]  Once Printserver is in the option window, click Next and proceed with setting up the second port using BROWSE to find the Device Name (mine is SCA14317; however when BROWSE finds it is shows SCA14317 192.168.0.3).  Enter the port you want to set up, such as SCA14317_P3 and proceed.  That works great for me using Windows XP, but the same approach will not work with Vista.  I'm fighting that now and think I have a solution to try that might work.”
I have yet to try the possible fix from fktoml but will try that soon.  I was hoping for a simpler solution…… If that fails I will have to buy a new print server that supports older parallel printers as well as the newer USP printers.

  • DAQmx drivers needed to calculate statistics in a standalone application ?

    Hi!
My standalone application analyzes measured data and saves statistics into Access database. It uses Statistics express VI, among the others. It does not use any data acquisition library. I've made an installer to install it on my customer's computer. After installation I tried to run the application but an error occured (see below).
Well, it works now (after few hours). But my opinion is that my solution is a little bit strange: I simply installed DAQmx drivers.
    1. Is this a bug ?
    2. How to explain my customer why does he need 1GB of hardware drivers ?
Fortunately, It was not necessary to use any special procedure tu run Database Connectivity Toolset: see this link, for example
    Best regards ,
    Ljubo.
P.S.: Developer Suite 8.6, Win XP Pro, DAQmx 8.8, MS Office 2003.

    Hi Dennis,
let me repeat the whole story once again:
    About
two years ago the same problem occured (with LabView 7.0 or 8.0, I
don't know exactly). Our local NI representative happened to be present
and we discussed the problem but we didn't find the solution. Instead
of using Statistics Express VI I made my own subVIs and the problem was
    solved (and forgotten).
    I've already checked my
customer's computer this morning and everything seems to be OK. DLL
library lvanlys.dll is installed in "data" folder.
To eliminate unnecessary details I've created a new project (see the attachment, please).
    I
installed the program on my colleague's PC (my colleague never used
LabView in his life). The result is the same. You can see the error
    report in the second attachement.
    Then I've copied lvanlys.dll
file to all folders where programs usually search libraries: Windows,
    Windows\system, Windows\system32 and Program Files\Mean4V. But program
    can't find the library NI_AALBase.lvlib.
    Obviously,
installation of DAQmx drivers adds something which is missing in my
build specification. I hope someone could explain what I'm doing wrong.
    With best regards,
    Ljubo.

  • Third Party Drivers needed!

Sometimes I hate upgrading my OS, because of all the things that stop working after EVERY upgrade.
I have been using Macs since '84 and Mac OS 4.1, and every time I upgrade, some hardware and software stop working after the upgrade.
Sometimes it is major, like going from OS 6 to OS 7, or OS 7 to OS 8 and of course every major version of OS X.
Part of problem is getting upgraded drivers for OS X, and some times I can go to the product manufacturer for new drivers, but not always.
Where can I go for Third Party Drivers when the product manufacturer doesn't want to make them?
Is there someplace that has lots of Third Party Drivers for printers, scanners and keyboards, Etc?
I have stuff that still works fine in OS 9 but not in OS X. Like a UMAX Astra 3400 scanner, and other things that work OK, but I can't access utilities like a HP desk-jet 895 Cxi printer.
I don't want to have to buy all new hardware every time I upgrade the software, so I don't rush out and get the latest upgrades until they have been around for awhile.
It would be nice to have somewhere to go for all these problems, as well as when I buy a new piece of hardware and it doesn't come with needed Mac drivers at all.
    Any ideas here?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The problem occurs just as much because products get discontinued as drivers becoming outdated. However, many open source companies are making drivers now. I would check my FAQ:
    http://www.macmaps.com/macosxnative.html
To find out if any of your devices have available updates.
And note when updating only to do so when you absolutely need to do so. Reasons for need are usually software and hardware which improve your productivity that are only available on new hardware, or inability to find older hardware when your previous machine dies. As long as you backup your data before any updates, software issues should be minimal as my FAQ explains since you'll be able to restore your backup if an upgrade messes up your drivers:

  • Installed 9800 Pro Radeon are drivers need?

    Greetings Apple Discussions:
Just installed a PC flashed 128MB 9800 Pro Radeon, Zalman VF700 VGA cooler and upgraded the stock PSU to 450W. Everything went well. I also have a PCI slot exhaust cooler.
I am considering using Thomas Perrier's AtIccelerator II to reasonably increase the processor & memory frequencies.
    http://thomas.perrier.name/index.html
The stock processor & memory frequencies read as (processor 351MHz)(Memory 324MHz). How much is a safe increase from these values?
Also do I need to update the ROM drivers?
    http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/mac/macosx10-4x-3x-radeon.html
    I am running Leopard 10.5.2
I would appreciate if anyone could help me with these issues.

    Hi again-
The Zalman will do a good job of keeping the 9800 cool. I have a Zalman 900Cu on a 9800 (in a GE), and the card never shows any sign of heat related problems.
I set mines to 389 and 344 respectively. Everything appears cool.
Stability and reasonable temperatures, no artifacts, that's what you need. Like I said, all chips are a bit different, so the limit is only found through trial and error. With the cooling mods, you won't need to worry about the heat killing the card.
How useful is the ATI Displays Panel?
If you want to rotate the display, the display control panel will support this. Also, the extension allows scaling, controls for the S-video, and Open GL overides for gaming. It is worth having in your system.
that the intake vent holes behind the case fan were clogged with dust/lint. I could only clean these vent holes thoroughly by removing the case fan. I am assuming these are intake holes.
Yes, those are intake holes. The air comes in through a gap at the bottom of the acrylic side panel, then through the holes in the steel case. They can get really nasty, so it's good to keep an eye on them. Also, good to keep dust buildup around/under the Tower to a minimum.

  • Installed a DVD drive in a G4 - drivers needed?

It doesn't seem to work. Full story below, branched from another thread. New problem, new thread, was my understanding of the idea.
I bought and (physically) installed a Pioneer 115 DVD drive, and tried the black retail Tiger disc. Nothing. Which is an improvement (the old CD drive would spit it out after 20 seconds).
Tried restarting holding 'c', then holding 'option' - again nothing. It just goes through to the user sign-in dialog then onto normal desktop.
Am I being completely dense here, or isn't there meant to be some sort of recognition that I've put a disc in?
Do I need to do some installation of the drivers?
Could the problem be because I bought the machine from a department in my university, and there might still be some network settings on it preventing my progress? Do I have to do something in account settings?

    Hi-
The drive should be recognized and functional as a reader.
    No drivers are necessary.
For full burning support, Patchburn is needed.
There is a Panther version and a Tiger version:
    http://www.patchburn.de/
Does the drive show up in the System Profiler/Hardware/ATA, and also in System Profiler/Hardware/Disc Burning?

  • Lenovo S400 Windows XP Drivers needed

Hello can I use the Windows 7 drivers to install Windows XP on Lenovo Ideapad S400?
Or can I Download anywhere the XP Drivers?

    hi Napkid,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Windows XP drivers are not listed under support site for this model.
If you really want to push for Windows XP you will need to get those manually from Manufacturers.
You can check device's Hardware ID under Device Manager to identify the brand and model.
Then look it up online for driver download

    Hello.
There are updated versions of the drivers you would need for those boards available on the web, but your LabVIEW version is very old and thus will not be compatible with those driver versions.
Hopefully you have the CDs with your older driver versions on them. Many drivers are available on the web at:
    http://www.ni.com/downloads/
You will need NI-Motion, NI-DAQ, and NI-FGEN for the 5411.
