Satellight auto restarts every 15 minutes.

Satellight C850-st3nx1. Will auto restart every 10-15 minutes. All on its own.

First, try a System Restore. If that doesn't fix it, move on to these suggestions:
Check if it does it in Safe Mode. If it does, I'd recommend performing a system reset. If it doesn't, try using a clean startup to determine what's causing the problem.
How can I perform a clean startup of Windows 8 without my startup items to troubleshoot a problem?

  • Xbox 360 Auto-dim every 10 minutes

Why does my xbox360 auto-dim every 10 minutes, while connected to windows 7 media center?
I've tried every setting I can think of on the xbox and the win7 box it's connected too... Screen savers, power management settings. It still will randomly dim the screen every 10 minutes while watching anything on mediacenter. Sometimes it'll be fine for hours, and then you change the channel and it'll start happening like clockwork, every 10 minutes...
Reboot, and sometimes that fixes it, sometimes it doesn't, very frustrating to troubleshoot when I can't reproduce it accurately.
The dimming I believe is coming from the xbox, but the first thing I did was disable it's screen saver in the system settings of the console.

1.) Turn on the 360 and load up the Media Center Extender frontend.
2.) Bring up a command prompt window on the PC and run the regedit utility.
3.) Browse to the registry location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\hivelist
4.) Make note of the registry user key associated to the Media Center user (probably Mcx1 although I assume there maybe an Mcx2 etc. if you have more that one extender).
5.) Browse to the registry location:
    HKEY_USERS\[registry user key from step 4]\Control Panel\Desktop
6.) Change the ScreenSaveActive key to 0 by double clicking it.
Same old bug no matter what the xbox is set to it's always on on the PC. I have had to do this on every windows i've set up so far. It works fine in windows 7 too. Very annoying the screensaver dim problem.
By the way you do have to restart the media centre on the xbox to pick up the registry edit.
Let me know how you get on.

If you have a variety of problems and things are crazy across the board, then you can't go wrong by doing a clean system install. Everyone should do it periodically, anyway, whether they have problems or not.
Follow this procedure for a Troubleshooting Methodology ... basically reset to factory default condition -BUT- be sure to do the following methodically and also to follow the part with Apple Support!
First you want to make sure you have several backups of your data and done with a couple of "different" sources. Be sure to understand what data is backed up and what is NOT on iCloud Backup and iTunes Backup. Use a variety of methods for backup ... you might check into Dropbox, in addition to your Apple options.
Then turn off your desktop anti-virus software when using iTunes for this reset to factory default. After you do that reset, then leave your iPad in its factory default state and see how it operates then. If you encounter any problems in that factory default state, then take it to Apple Support, and let them know that you have just reset it to that state with iTunes and have not put any of your data back on and it is operating in this fashion (whatever the problem is) in that pristine state. Make sure you keep that trouble ticket number, because if it has to be escalated through Apple Support, you're going to find all communications tied in with that number. If the lower level help isn't able to help you, then escalate it to a higher level to examine the problem. Keep at it with that trouble ticket number until Apple Support arrives at a solution to that problem. Be methodical and keep at it.
On the other hand, if everything is okay with the factory default condition, then restore your backup. Some people have discovered that the problem resides in the apps or something in the restored backup. If that's the case, then it's going to be trying and difficult to find out which developer's app is causing you the problem. And ... it's true ... that a developer not following Apple's instructions and guidelines for his app can CAUSE YOU TROUBLE. This kind of thing does happen from developers, especially when a new system upgrade comes out, because some developers ignore what Apple tells them about changes coming, and what they do BREAKS SOMETHING.
This is a troubleshooting methodology that you are going through. See it through to the end.

  • My phone keeps restarting every 5 minutes. how do i make it stop

my phone keeps restarting every 5 minutes. how do i make it stop

Try to sync you phone with iTunes to create a new backup before it restarts.  Also try to import your photos (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts if you can (sync them to iCloud in Settings>iCloud>Contacts>On or use an app like My Contact Backup).  When done, force you phone into recovery mode and restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.

  • IPHONE 5 keeps restarting every 5 minutes

Iphone 5 keeps restarting every 5 minutes. the screen turns black and then the apple logo shows up. does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hello jonah910,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're having with your iPhone, I definitely see how it is a frustrating experience!
I'd like you to follow the troubleshooting in the following article to help resolve the issue:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Specifically the section under power & battery:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • Since installing the ios5 my iphone3gs keeps restarting every 3 minutes. can anyone help please

since turning my phone on this morning its restarted itself every 3 minutes. ive tried holding the power and home button together to restore it but nothing happened and ive also tried 2 restore factory setting via itunes but the phone just restarts as its attempting 2 restore. its an absolute joke with how much the phones cost and yet it f##ks up all the time

Okay, I've now done yet another software restore but this time I also deleted a bunch of apps and only kept the essential stuff. I'm hoping that has fixed it because, not only do I currently have my phone back (the phone has stopped rebooting itself every few minutes) but the battery is now lasting more than 3 days between recharges. This suggests to me that one of the apps was to blame.
I will point out that my phone is 100% run the 'Apple' way. It is not jailbroken and so all apps came from the iTunes store.

  • Restarts every 3 MINUTES after Gingerbread update!

Subject pretty much says it all.. I installed the update this afternoon (and did NOT install anything else since) and now my phone is restarting itself every 3 minutes! I don't even think that's enough time to get in and back up my apps and texts, so I would really rather not do a factory reset!
Even as I'm writing this, it's now restarting every 30-60 seconds, in safe mode... Please HELP!!!

Since no one else cared to help, I figured out my own solution.. Everything I read online said I probably had an app that didn't agree with the update and the easiest fix would be to factory reset it. Not what I wanted to hear, but whatever! So I backed up my apps using Astro File Manager and backed up my texts using Go SMS Pro (both free apps).. Took a few restarts to get that done!
To factory-reset, you hold the volume button and power button at the same time.. Then when the Samsung logo shows up, let go of the power button only.. You should then get a black screen with some colored text and one of your choices is "wipe data/factory reset". Use your volume button to go down to that option and then press your Home key. Press Home again to go through with the reset... THIS WILL WIPE EVERYTHING FROM YOUR PHONE! Which is why you should back everything up first. There are easy-to-follow visual instructions on how to reset your phone here.. http://community.vzw.com/t5/Samsung-Fascinate/Gingerbread-update-bricked-my-phone-also/td-p/742556
Once reset, you will have a lot of reconfiguring to do but if you install Astro File Manager again you can fairly easily re-install your apps. I just installed the apps I use most, to see if any of those screwed with Gingerbread. So far, so good! Guess I will slowly re-install the rest over the next few days and hope nothing goes haywire again!

  • Windows XP Restarts every 15 minutes

I have not used boot camp for a couple on months until last week (Boot Camp v.2.1). I have a problem where windows XP shuts down after 15 minutes whether I was actively using it or not. I get a blue screen when it crashes but it flashes on and off so quick, I cannot read it. I noticed when I reboot into windows after a crash, I get a windows 'Disk Consistency' error and windows checks the disk. Sometime it finds errors and more often it does not. Once the disk check is completed, and errors corrected, windows restarts. I do get a 'Fatal Error' message to send to Microsoft once Windows starts successfully. I have turned off all power options in windows and turned off screen saver. It still restarts after 15 minutes. If I restart windows before the 15 minute period, I do not get the "disk error". It still restarts after 15 minutes.
After reading some suggestions to reload the drivers, I did that and restarted windows. After 15 minutes it restarted again.
I have seen one other post and they are having the same problem.
Is anyone using the windows screen saver and power features in XP? Since this happens every 15 minutes on the dot, is there a problem with boot camp and XP management features?

Well I just resolved almost a year long problem with the blue screen of death (BSOD) every 10 or 20 minutes (symptoms were the same as you reported where it would blue screen whether there was activity or not) - neither Apple nor Windows help could solve. Problem was masked as I upgraded to bootcamp 2.1 and winxp sp3 and a new version of Norton AV at around the same time. I kept thinking that it must be either the sp or bootcamp and tried repairs and eventually reloaded the whole system with no improvement. 2 nights ago I removed the Norton AV (from the winxp partition) and replaced with Trend Micro's internet security and for the first time in almost a year I've had no crashes - my daughter used the xp partition to do a power point presentation and spent several hours with no problems....

  • My iPad keeps restarting every 2 minutes I even reset all the settings and it's still doing it, what do I do?

Take it to your local Apple Store and ask them to check it out for you.

  • Mi ipad mini restarts every 2 minutes

    Traducción
I can not use, every 2 to 3 minutes restarts. and sometimes they do not end up rebooting and then off. I need help.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iDevice?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.
If these do not work consider backing up and restoring your iPad to Factory condition using iTunes on your computer. This will load a fresh copy of iOS.

  • IPhone 5c shuts restarts every 3 minutes...

My iPhone 5c has been acting weird. My first problem is that it is stuck at one number for a battery percentage, the number is random. so I don't know when it is going to die. But when it does die and when i put it in a charger, it turns on like normal and then after using it for 3 minutes it restarts and then I start to use it again and in 3 minutes it shuts down again, and that happens for  a while. THEN, I press the off button and home button for it to restart and leave it by itself for about 20 minutes. after this, usually it is working fine. But after it most recently shut down, restarting it and leaving it for 20 minutes hasn't worked, considering I left it for 20 mins and when that didn't work i left it overnight. Also when it is left by itself even if i am not using it it restarts, so think of how many times it did that last night. Every time I use it it shuts down and it is getting very annoying and hard to use. I have a genius bar appointment tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone else had this same problem or knows how to fix it, I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem.

Since no one else cared to help, I figured out my own solution..
