Satellite 1135-S1553 without S-Video Out Port - How to connect TV

I have a laptop Satellite 1135-S1553, how to connect it to TV without having S-Video Out Port in my laptop?

Are you 100% sure that your notebook doesnt support the s-video OUT port?
According to [this page |http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_tourView.jsp?moid=434998&rpn=PS113U&ct=PT&so id=660059] the notebook Sat 1153-S1553 supports this port at the back side.

  • Video out port

I recently bought a video out to s-video adapter from Apple , when connected my screen resolution is altered and cannot be set to its usual setting . The brightness adjustment appears disabled in some games and my VCR connected to the other end of the s-video lead via a 2 way adapter is receiving no signal. How can I determine where the fault lies.

Using mirror mode explains the resolution issues that you are having.
Regarding the signal issue, does your TV have a direct composite or S-Video input on it or, like your VCR, must you use the scart switch? The easiest way to track the problem down would be to directly connect the Mac to the external device without any intermediary. If it works, your switch is likely the problem. If it doesn't, the issue is either the video output from the computer or the video adapter.

  • Type of Video Display "Out" Port on Mid-2006 and mid-2007 MBP's?

    Howdy
The subject line above kind of says it all. I would like to know what type of video out port exists on these two models of MBP's: mid-2006 and mid-2007? In other words, what kind of Apple adapter would I have to buy to use these ports? Mini-DisplayPort, etc.?
    Thanks!

Kappy, thank you for your fast reply. But, I am puzzled by it. A standard DVI port is rather Large and has many pins and the crosswise electrical flat pin. Are you saying that this large type of standard DVI port is present and physically fits on the edge of a Mac Book Pro?

  • PB stuck in S-video out mode despite no s-video cable connected!

    Greetings,
Earlier today I attached a TV to my computer's s-video out to watch some video, afterwards I disconnected the cable and went to use my computer as I would ordinarily. Unfortunately now my Powerbook still shows a TV as being connected despite the fact that there is absolutely nothing connected to the s-video out port.
So far I've tried reseting the PRAM a couple of times, repairing permissions, and clearing the system cache (amongst other cache items). Nothing seems to work. When in the display control panel I still see a 'phantom tv' connected and still have the option of arranging the displays.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and been able to resolve it without resorting to a visit to Apple Repair?
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks a_brody for trying to be helpful but in fact my primary display never was selected as the television, so it never needed changing back. All that is occurring is that my mouse (and occassionally windows that I'm moving around) will disappear into the 'phantom' secondary screen. Unless someone else might be able to suggest some other ideas about resolving this issue, I suspect that I'll have to pay a visit to an Apple authorized service center before my Apple-Care coverage expires this coming year.
    Happy Holidays!

  • IBook G4 video out to MacBook video out

Anyone know of a port adaptor so I don't have to toss all my iBook vidya cables and buy all new stuff? The G4 video out port is smaller than the port on my current MacBook and there's nothing in the Apple Store. Customer service said I'd need a small adaptor from someone like Belkin but looking around has been really frustrating. Especially since the dude at Apple said he couldn't tell me how many pins the difference is.
EDIT: The iBook is a mini VGA 13 pin port and the MacBook is a mini DVI 32 pin port.

I tried the store and they told me to try Belkin. The short version is that I want to watch web content on my TV. With my G4, the output was thru a mini-VGA port. The port on my MacBook is a larger mini-DVI port so none of my G4 adaptors and cables work any more.
I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a MacBook to TV adaptor (they usually ship with a new machine but mine is second-hand) and replacing the other Monster cables I bought so I was looking for a cheap way to link my old mini-VGA stuff to the mini-DVI port on my MacBook. It would be a male/female type adaptor.

  • Composite video out on tx2520ej

I've got an HP tx2520ej laptop with Radeon HD3200 chipset and s-video out. I want to connect it to the TV by using a composite video signal. Can i get composite signal from the s-video out port like shown on this pic, or the mobility radeon chipsets does not support this option?

    thanks

This is automatically handled by the aur package acpi-eeepc-generic. If OP does not have that one installed, I suggest he/she tries installing and configuring this package first. Fn+F5 should automagically toggle the external monitor.

  • Distorted video-out signal on Qosmio F10

    Hi,
Up until recently my video-out function on my Qosmio F10 worked just fine. When I connected my laptop to the TV the other day, using a s-video cable, the picture had turned quite distorted. The picture on the TV flickers and sometimes disappears totally.
My laptop has the Nvidia GeForce FX Go5700 graphics card and I have changed no settings what so ever from the point in time when the video-out was working properly.
To debug I've bought a new s-video cable and also a scart-adapter. Using these I've eliminated that the TV's s-video in port is the problem. It seems to me as if something is wrong with the signal from the graphics card.
I'd be very grateful for a diagnose on this issue.
    Thanks and regards,
    Johan

    Hi,
I've made sure that I use the latest drivers (although the ones that Toshiba provides are not exactly brand new!). I've also made sure that I use the correct TV-format (PAL-B in my case). Furthermore, I've tried both using the s-video port on the TV directly and also using a scart adapter... The result is still the same...
I'm inclined to believe that there is something wrong with the hardware (e.g. a loose contact in the s-video out port). In that case i guess this might be a warranty issue...
    Rgds,
    Johan

  • S-video Out

Hi, I am using an Z60M (2529ERG). I have connected the S-video out port to my TV but I cannot see any display on the TV.
    Can anyone plz help me.
I have installed the latest drivers from IBM Site.

    You have to:
      - Tell windows about second desKtop:
        * Right click on desktop, select properties. Go to 'Settings' tab.
        * Click on 'Secondary display' (i.e. select it).
        * Mark checkbox 'Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor'
     - Switch your TV to where it shows the S-Video (mine has 4 inputs and each time I have to roll over them, until reach 4th, where s-video is located).
When you tell windows to use 2nd desktop, TV must be on and cables connected. If you disconnect tv-cable, you may need (in step one to first unmark the 'extend' checkbox, apply, and mark it again.

  • 3.0 killed my video-out

Anyway, on v2.2 my video-out was working just fine with my vidoe cable - no problems. Went to 3.0 and now I get the "Unsupported Accessory" error and the phone shuts down the video out port!! Worked fine with no errors in 2.2 so why did Apple change this with 3.0? I rolled back to 2.2 to test it, and sure enough, video-out works fine. Phone wouldn't get signal (or activate or something) rolling back to 2.2 so I ultimately had to go to 3.0 for the phone to work.
I had to buy a new cable when I got the 3G and now it looks like Apple wants some more of my money just by uprgrading to 3.0. If anyone has a suggestion or workaround for this, please post it.
    <Edited by Host>

I have noticed this problem also - dont know how to roll back. To be honest it's pretty annoying because I was using this to stream video to my tv. I paid good money for an apple cable that looks like its now useless.

  • Video Out, is it possible?

i'd like to hook up my TouchSmart 600 to a digital projector (for large movie showings). Is there a video out option or connector on the TouchSmart? any suggestions?
    thanks,
    Idan

Generally speaking the 600xt series doesn't have any additional video outputs. It's really designed for the user to take advantage of the 1080p screen it ships with.
For the 1350 specifically , this http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02507381&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en... says under the I/O ports section that there aren't any video out ports.
I do have a second DVI monitor connected to my 600xt TouchSmart via a USB graphics adapter from IOGear. However, because it's connected via USB, it won't work well for video but is great for browsing, twitter, and the like.

  • Video Out - Tecra 8000

I have a Tecra 8000 with Windows XP Pro installed.
Everything works beautifully I have updated the BIOS to v9.3 - BUT I can't get the video out connections to work.
I have tried the RCA plug on the back, and also connected the SVGA dongle to the side jack and used the composite video out on that, but no signal seems to come out of either of them.
I have tinkered with the various different BIOS settings, used the Fn+F5 key all to no avail.
I have read in the forum here that others have the same problem, so I'm adding a plea for help with this one too. Can I ask, has ANYONE managed to actually get a composite video signal out of their Tecra?

    Hi Peter
If your Tecra is preinstalled with Toshiba Recovery CD all drivers and tools should work properly. In this case there are, in my opinion, two possible reasons why this not works. Either is notebook the cause for this issue or there is some problem with the TV and TV setting.
Using FN+F5 key combination you can switch to external device. It will be interesting to know if this works properly with external monitor. It is not the same port but the tool is the same. You can also try to connect your notebook to another TV. It is sometimes not easy to say what the problem can be. If there is no way to have some success you need some professional help. Maybe the service partner can make a short check of composite video out port.

  • Video Out Connection Problem

am trying to connect my powerbook to a tv, so I bought a video out connector, which connects to the video out port right by the s-video connection and cable internet port. When I connect the piece to my powerbook, the screen flashes to blue, I guess it automatically is detecting the displays, and then returns to normal. When I connect the video line from this connector to the tv, the screen has gray horizontal bars and scribbles in between (kinda like a loose connection I guess?). I have checked the connections, all were tight, have restarted. Also, when I go to the display preferences when this piece is attached, an error report comes up and display preferences are automatically closed. Please help.

Your power supply may have weakened and can no longer produce the amps that are needed to power the system.  The newer video card also draws more power as well.
Check and see if you can borrow another power supply to check if that is the problem.  One with power outputs similar to mine would be enough to make the check.
A vantec chipset cooler from newegg can be used to replace the bad one on the KT3 motherboard.
Are you using the same power supply with both motherboards?

  • T440s Specs - video out

The T440s has two video out ports: "Mini-DisplayPort" and VGA.
What is the max resolution and refresh rate these ports can support?
I would like to know the max resoltuion supported by each port.
I would also like a link to a lenovo.com page where this data is posted.  I'm not sure why I can't easily find this information on the Lenovo site.

  • Video output port?

To connect a computer to my new tv, it has a HDMI input and a Digital DVI input. All I have been able to find is that the video out port on my G5 is a mini-VGA port. Can someone please tell me if this is possible.

Gnome21, Welcome to the discussion area!
Congratulations on the new iMac. You have landed in the wrong discussion area. This is for the older iMac G5. You have just purchased an Intel-based iMac and should ask future questions in that discussion area.
I hope i have misinterpreted or just not understood some info i glanced over today, but I read somewhere that the 27 inch iMac is the only system that supports an external screen.
You misread that information or that information was wrong. What it should have stated is that the 27 inch iMac is the only iMac with a video INPUT. Nearly every iMac supports an external monitor.
Does anybody know if the 21.5 iMac works seamlessly with the 24inch LED like I and the salesperson expected?
I have no idea about the connection to or the capabilities of the 24 inch LED, but your iMac supports an external monitor.

  • 17" iMac G4 no video out

    Hey there all,
I bought an old iMac G4 800MHz to use for iTunes playback at my church and it does a great job at that and it can get song titles because it also has an Airport card(802.11b). I'd also like to send video out from it but, the video out doesn't send. I've tried a VGA>VGA adapter and a VGA>Video adapter but neither works and the adapters are good. Any clues or assistance would be appreciated. If I can't get it to work(reasonably priced repair) it's still good for the reason it was purchased.
    *iMac Specs*
    *17" iMac G4 Mac OSX 10.4/800MHz/256MB RAM/40GB HDD/Airport(802.11b)*
    Thanks in Advance.

Depending on which Apple mini-VGA to VGA display adapter you have,
one of them may work while others may not. The model M8639G/A or
one like it (has different number on original packaging) should work in
applications with iBook G4, eMac G4, PowerBook (some), and iMac G4.
    • *It should work*, if you follow these simple rules: {avoid static charges when handling connector)
    1) shut down your computer completely before connecting the adapter; sleep-mode won't do.
    2) power up the external screen or video projector after connecting the cable and before booting the Mac.
    3) shut everything down before disconnecting the mini-vga adapter.
The part number (on my package) says 603-0607; these fit snug in the
video-out mirror port on an iMac G4. The external display, if supported,
should appear in the Displays system preference panel, where it may
be selected and accessed by the computer. There may be other similar
products that look a lot alike, and may not work in certain computers.
I have the same model as this, and it works with a mid-2005 iBook G4
    as well as a last series model iMac G4 1.25GHz 17" USB2.0.
    Examples:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8639G/A - or -
    http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Mini-VGA-display-PowerBook-603-0607/dp/B002PXV0S6
The web page images are helpful to show enlarged view of mini-VGA adapter ends.
There are other similar adapters which may fit, but don't have correct connectors.
Not sure of technical differences in those very similar in appearance.
    The adapters may be able to work on any older G4/G5 within standard mini-VGA limits;
and the old http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9109G/A adapter should also work, too.
However, the audio portion of this adapter may not work with the iMac G4; so another
cable setup could be used to provide audio from the headphone jack & other connectors.
(The similar adapter for use with early Intel-based MacBook has different wiring.)
What computer model did the adapter(s) you have, come with? What external video
display unit are you trying to use the adapter and iMac G4 with? There is a possibility
the adapter and/or the display aren't compatible with the iMac G4; or the video-out
port is damaged. However, testing the mini-video out port would require known good
    adapters of the correct type.
Does the System Profiler, and also the System Preferences> Displays show an
attached external display when the connections are firmly made? One or both
should give some clue if there is some kind of connection; unless the port is bad
    or the adapter is incorrect.
Are you going to be using a display or a projector with this? Some products may
require a different input signal frequency than these older computers generate.
Not sure on how else to check or troubleshoot the situation if the peripherals
do match up correctly, and nothing happens. However if an external display
does work but won't appear correctly, there is a third party app freeware able
to help adjust resolution and other settings. At least in OS X: SwitchRes X:
    http://www.madrau.com/SRXv3/html/SRX/About.html
Hopefully some of this helps; at least to confirm the adapter details, and the
basic attachment process usually involved. The System Profiler should have
an indication of a correct connection; if the port or adapter is wrong/broken,
then this would not be a pointer to gauge success. Except by its absence...
For other methods of troubleshooting video, should the machine have an
issue and you need to use an external mirror display to access it, see this:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=914904
    Good luck & happy computing!
