Satellite 1400 enters stand by after 30 mins when it's not in use
Hey all.
I have just installed a 256Mb RAM module, so I now have 384Mb RAM. Since this has been installed, the computer enters stand by mode after about 30 mins when it is not in use. I have tried to change to power management settings, but when I click on power management in the Toshiba console, nothing happens! Likewise when I use the power management from the control panel (in windows XP), it tells me to use the Toshiba console! Help! How do I change the time before the computer enters stand by mode??

First of all if the Toshiba power saver is installed on the notebook so the windows power options doesnt work.
All power settings should be changed or set in the power saver.
You have to choose the power saver mode and click details
There you should see 3 tabs.
Check the second tab Power saver there you can change some settings, also the stand by time. After this procedure you have to apply the changing.
Check also the 3rd tab System Power mode

I meant when they test a percentage of devices as part of quality control - to make sure that a particular batch of phones is defect free and market ready
The Call time is apparently the total time one spends talking on the phone between total resets and wipes

Believe me; its not easy to say exactly why the BSOD appears.
Generally it happens because of the serious software malfunction or hardware fault.
Did you use the OS from the Toshiba image?
There message says something about sysaudio.sys.
This file is a system audio WDM filter process and its a part of Windows OS. It controls the hardware like printer or graphic card on a lower level.
Note: The virus uses such files as a camouflage. You should use always a anti virus application.
Furthermore you have suggested that the notebook shuts down after 5 min.
Well, this sounds like a overheating issue. How did you use the notebook? You should know that the free space around the notebook is very important because of the air circulation. The ventilators should be also free.
I you use the notebook in the right position and this will happen again so I would recommend asking the Toshiba service partner for the help. They should check the notebook. -

Satellite A30-921 shuts down after 10 mins
I own a Satellite A30-921 but it shuts down after 10 mins.
I've tried to alter the toshiba power management settings but they wont work any ideas ?Does the notebook shut down automatically without showing any error messages?
This could be caused by an overheating issue!
How old is your notebook and did you clean the cooling ventilators in the past?
If not I would recommend doing this.
To clean the ventilators you could use the compressed air spray which can be purchased in most computer stores.
The problem is that the dust and debris inside the notebook prevents the cooling modules from properly working and therefore the temperature increases to the higher level. This leads to the automatically shuts downs.
In my opinion the fans cleaning could helps to solve this issue.

Cisco APs get disconnected from cisco WLC after 30 min when connected on Juniper SRX
Hi,
I am connecting all my Cisco 1131AG APs via Juniper SRX 240 box and Cisco WLC is placed in the LAN.
We are running LWAPP in layer 3 mode. The APs get dissassociated form the WLC after 30 min.
The Setup is like :-
AP->AccessSwitch-->JuniperSRX(reth2.0)-->JuniperSRX(reth1.0)-->CoreSwitch-->CiscoWLC
could anyone please help me to resolve this issue.Firmware for WLC is AIR-WLC4400-K9-4-2-99-0
Firmware for AP is 12.4(10b)JA1

Call is getting disconnect after 3 min when the caller is in queue

I am using icm 7.0 with ip ivr 7.0. when all the agents are busy and caller is in queue,call is automatically getting disconnected after 3 min with the message " We are experiancing system problem and unable to process the call. please try again later" .

Why buy a mini when it seems not to be upgradeable to wireless-n?
Does anyone know why Apple would make most of the dual core computers upgradeable to wireless-n for the laughable £1.25 but not either of the minis? There does not seem to be a wireless-n usb network adapter for Apple products so you could end up paying a lot of money for a product which might be regarded as already obsolete.
Toshiba Qosmio Windows XPthe answer is that the MacMini doesn' t have the same Airport Card than the newer Intel Core2 Duo. these airport cards doesn' t support 802.11n yet.
the g-standard can not be obsolete for a long time yet because the industriy is still not agree for the same 802.11n standard... so it still might take a while

i hope anybody can help me with my satellite P10-554
when i start the notebook everything works fine a few minutes. than the monitor turns into black and the notebooks shuts down suddenly. i cannot reboot it, when i push the start-button nothing happens.
i have to wait for about an hour and then i can start it up again, but he works just a minute and shuts down again !
help me please, cause i need my notebook to work !I did that many times. First you need a special torx-screwdriver. Then you can remove the cover over the fans. Than take your vacuum-cleaner and remove the dust. Take a brush or somethin else to remove the dust from the fans. Then, you need to remove I think 2 big screws, now you should hold the cooling falance in your hands, the one with the fans. Clean that properly.
After that you can remove the copper-cooler, with 2 more screws I think, but it is pretty obviously. Now you should see the blank cpu with lots of heat-paste on it. I dont know why they put so much of this stuff on it from toshiba. So get a better one like Arctic-Silver or sth. My advice is to take the CPU off (one screw on top as far as I remember) and clean the surface.
The copper you can clean under water, but dont use sth that could scratch the surface. After that let it dry good. Now just put the CPU back and fix it with the screw again. Take a !litte! heat paste and put it properly with a paper all over the surface of the CPU, but remember, just a little! Then follow all steps back, dont forget to clean the graphics-chip as well and put some paste on it. You can see which it is when you look under the fan-cooling-falance, there should be a rest of heat-paste. Everything back to its place and voil*, a nice, cool clean notebook. By the way, I replaced even the fans.

My internet freezes after 10 mins when i turn on xbox live
When i am playin xbox live for about 10 mins or more my internet freezes and so does my xbox live, when i try to load a page it says unable to load page

SOLVED: Can't blank/lock screen after 30 mins - xset s off not working
I want the monitor screen to blank after 30 minutes of idleness and password lock it. The password lock works fine, but the screen blanks after 10 minutes.
Here is what I have in my ~/.xinitrc
xset s off &
xset dpms 0 1800 3600 &
xautolock -time 30 -locker slock -notify 30 &
Is there something I overlooked?

For some reason you're using the default timeout even though you have 'xset s off &' in your .xinitrc.
I don't know what exactly 'xautolock -time 30 -locker slock -notify 30 &' does, try commenting it out and see if it changes anything.
If you're still stuck, post the whole ~/.xinitrc.
I did your above test which gave me the same results as you. The thing is, whenever I reboot, that setting will be lost.
I think what I'll try next is moving the xset s off command from ~/.xinitrc into ~/.fluxbox/startup
I will leave xautolock -time 30 -locker slock -notify 30 & in ~/.xinitrc for now. By the way, what that line does is lock my display after 30 minutes using the 'slock' package and notifies me with a 30 second system alarm warning before it does so. That way I can press my keyboard or move my mouse to avoid locking my display.
Edit: Actually, what I ended up doing was simply changing the ordering of commands in my ~/.xinitrc from:
xset s off &
xset dpms 0 1800 3600 &
xautolock -time 30 -locker slock -notify 30 &
to
xset dpms 0 1800 3600 &
xset s off &
xautolock -time 30 -locker slock -notify 30 &
and that solved the problem by changing the timeout to 0...not really sure why the ordering of commands matters here, but it worked so I'm changing this thread to SOLVED.

Internet stops working after 10 mins and apps do not start correctly

I can use my Macbook pro for ten minutes after I turned it on. Then the followings happens:
Safari crashes (also tried Chrome and Firefox) -> The loading bar does not complete and I cannot access any homepage.
Some apps like iTunes, Pages,... do not start completely. -> I click on the symbol, the white point beneath it appears but nothing more happens.
I hope that somebody can help me with it.
s.How are you accessing the internet? If by Airport, then what happens if you try ethernet?
It might be worth running the extended version of the Apple hardware test right after you lose connection to the internet. I'm wondering if you might have a problem of some sort with the airport card which is triggered by heat or something like that? If so, you might get an error code that would point to the problem.
Also try running SMART Utility to check out the physical health of your hard drive:

You can download the demo and run it several times for free. If your hard drive is going south, that could be a contributing factor to your other problems.
You have the early 2010 MBP? If so, you are still under the 1 year warranty, and if there is a hardware problem, it should be covered. Be sure to report your problem to Apple and get a case number before your warranty runs out so that if you do have hardware issues, they can be fixed under warranty. If you do not already have 3 year Applecare, consider getting it while you still can.
