Satellite 2770 - Display driver problems with Windows 2000

Hello,
I've a Toshiba Satellite 2770 and installed Windows 2000 on it. If I'm not wrong the S2770 does have a S3 Savage IX/MV graphic card and I downloaded the Windows 2000 driver from the S3 website but it wont be recognized by the hardware detection.
Then I tried the Windows 95SE driver from the Toshiba website, but Windows 2000 wont acept it due it's not suitable for Windows 2000 as it seems.
What to do? Isnt there a Windows 2000 driver out there which works? I dont want to work in 640x480 and 16 colors forever!

Hello
You are absolutely right. Your unit has S3 Savage IX8 graphic card but problem is that your unit is delivered with WinME operating system. That means that there is no support for other operating systems. All drivers are designed for each notebook model and OS separately. The only way to solve this problem is to install the driver given by graphic card producer. If this not works you have a big problem.
Sorry but I really dont know what you can do. Maybe you can try to install the driver designed for Sat 2750. There is the same graphic card but driver is designed for Win98SE.

Driver problems with Windows Professional XP 64bit Edition

Well, after looking around the forum here I found an answer that works! I wish I could remember who to give credit too though. I installed the latest Vista drivers and I got static all the time. I tried another members suggestion of disabling the X-Fi device in the Device manager every time I log off and then enable the X-Fi the next time I log in. I have great sound as long as I do that. Also, for connecting to a home system I am using the DTS-60, $00 on this website, but it works well if you havea DTS decoder. I am using the X-Fi extreme Music edition. Good Luck, hopefully another driver is on the way.

    Hi Markus,
I understand that you are having an issue with scanning after upgrading to Windows 8.1. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. I just need a little more information. What operating system are you running on your computer? Are you connecting wireless or with a USB cable? What is the error message that you are getting?
I am including this document for A 'No Scan Options' or 'Scan settings are not set' Message Displays on the All-in-One there are trouble shooting steps for Windows 8 that will work for Windows 8.1.
I hope this helps, let me know.
    Thank you,

  • Satellite Pro L850 1DR - Problems with Windows 7 Update KB2887069

I am having problems installing Update KB2887069.
It appears to install okay ... invites me to restart ... when I do it says it is configuring ... gets to 7% then starts the restart ... shows it is configuring again ... up to 7 or 9% ... then reports it is failing and restoring ... restarts again ... and that's it ... not installed and reference to Windows Update confirms it has failed.
All the other updates I had today installed okay once I realised KB2887069 was the problem and omitted it from the update.
I'm running Win 7 Prof Serv Pack 1 - 64-bit on a Toshiba Satellite Pro L850 1DR. I use Microsoft Security Essentials as my AV software.
For now I have had to hide the update ... but anyone any bright ideas how to overcome the problem. I have tried Microsoft's site but as yet there are no answers that have provided a solution for me.
    Thanks in anticipation!!

I am "replying to myself" on this one so if anyone else has experienced a similar problem they can see what I did to resolve the matter.
I contacted Microsoft and received excellent support ... although it took a long old time (over the course of 3 days) to resolve the problem, the staff at Microsoft knew their stuff and proceeded tenaciously to overcome every obstacle.
I did feel somewhat sorry for them that one little update should result in the need to offer so much commitment to just one customer ... I was also grateful the resolution was achieved over a time when I was not that busy!
Additional Info: I refer above to 3 days ... for those interested, the time was spent as follows:
Day 1: about an hour and a half covering all the basic checks including sfc /scannow etc after which the update would still not install. (I had done these but accepted Microsoft needed to have the opportunity to check the situation for themselves).
Day 2: a technician called me at a pre-agreed time and having done a few more checks decided to re-download Windows 7.1 (over 3 GB ... on my connection that took a long time) and re-install it (without affecting my data, thank goodness ... but again the process of installation took a long time). The technician left me to do all the updating (a further 3-400MB). Time commitment for me about 5 hours ... but I was able to work on other things while the download, install etc was on as long as I kept half an eye on the screen.
Day 3: the same technician called me back (just when he said he would) ... told him I had no problems with updates (incl KB2887069) but was getting a weird message in Outlook when following hyperlinks and also I could not install IE11 for some reason. Both problems were resolved and other tiny matters sorted over the course of one hour.
Summary: problem therefore took up to 7.5 hours of my time to overcome, approximately half of which I was able to turn my attention to other things on another machine. In my view an acceptable investment of time to have the peace of mind of knowing everything is working just as it should be. I was impressed with Microsoft's staff who were as reliable as they were friendly and patient.

  • G510 Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio doesnt work driver problem with Windows 8.1

    Hi,
    my Lenovo G510 has Windows 8.1 64-bit.
In the system menue of Hardware and Sound I can see two entries:
    1) Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio
    2) Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio (32-bit)
Clicking on the first entry a control panel appears. Does this mean that Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio is always running in the backround? There is no entry in the systray.
Clicking on the second entry this error message appears:
Your current installed version is 7.3.2.2 of the Dolby Digital Plus audio driver. The software needs the driver version 7.5.1.1. Installe a correct combination of driver and software.
What to do with this? I searched for a solution and drivers but couldn´t find anything.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Paravirtualized Driver problem with Windows XP SP3

    Hi,
While trying to install Oracle PV block dirvers to a fresh Windows XP SP3 system in Oracle VM 2.1.5 I get a blue screen of death. Any advice on how to overcome the problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    V.B.

    Hi, rlomba
    Thank you for your reply.
Of course I know about .Net and netfront. Moreover, I have successfully installed Win Server 2k3 as PV.
I think the problem is a bit deaper. When I skip block device I can proceed with installation, however on reboot Oracle PCI (SCSI-?), and network drivers fail to start.
A more generic question: did anybody succeed with installing Oracle PV drivers to XP? What SP was it?
    Thanks in advance

  • Satego P100-10U - Driver Problems with Windows 7

    Hi!
As also recommended by Toshiba I installed Windows 7 64 bit on my Satego P100 10u Laptop. However after doing so I face the following issues:
    - there is no sound although the audio device (Conexant High Definition Smart Audio HD2) driver seems to be installed.
    - the sd card slot is not recognized
Unfortunatelly I did not find any Windows 7 drivers in the toshiba driver download area for these devices.
    Can anybody please help me?
Thanks a lot and kind regards
    Gunnar

    >The audio device is listed as "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2" but with a yellow exclamation mark, as it does not work properly
Delete this device from the device manager list and reboot the unit.
Usually the OS should automatically delete the new device and should search for drivers.
Fact is that if this device is recognized as Conexant High Definition SmartAudio then the driver is already installed and there could be other issue.
    >Any other idea how to get the original driver or another one without re-installing the complete system (please not - would take so much time as everything else is configured now) with a little chance of success?
Well, if the tip mentioned above will not help, then a new installation might be a good idea even if this would take some time

  • Tecra A2- Display driver compatible with Windows 7?

    Hi All,
I've recently upgraded my Tecra A2 to Windows 7 (obviously without checking compatibility). It's working great, but I cannot find a driver (if there is one) for my video card. I've exhausted everywhere on the Toshiba support pages, and forums, and I'm of the impression the only solution is to buy a new card.
    Can anyone help?
    Cheers

    Ta mate,
I'll check intel's website tonight to see if i can find a driver. If anyone has a URL to send me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
Yes it is an older A2, however I've upgraded the RAM from 256MB to 1GB (win7 wouldnt have even operated on it without the upgraded RAM). I upgraded to win7 out of curiosity really. Not dissatisfied with xp, just wanted something different, and the new features on 7 are pretty cool.
If I cannot get a driver, I'll have to source out a win xp disc and reinstall xp, get the old drivers reinstalled, and be content with the fact I have a fully operating computer. I am about to start building my own PC, so it probably wont be that much of a biggy.
Lesson learnt from all this? - Check compatibility before changing your OS!
    Cheers

Enlight is manufactured by Sirtec and are virtually identical to Sirtec's own High Power brand (if not identical, they share the same model numbers).  High Power has received good reviews from Tom's Hardware and others.  Nothing wrong with Enlight, except their OEM/bulk units that ship with cases are usually underpowered.  Underpowered is relative to system needs and is not the same as inferior quality.
i dont discuss his Enlight, as brand. his PSU is pretty old and there is a big chance to malfuction in time, also his power has not enought and look suspicional  +12V @ 13A too..

Good of you to go for a quality PSU!
Perhaps the boot sector of the hard disk doesn't want to play with the motherboard's booting controller?
Had similar problems, which I cured by using a WindowsME floppy to format to FAT32. After that the Windows install CD had no problem finding the hard disk, and formatting back to NTFS and then a full install was done in no-time.
But, if you have something important on the disk you have to back-up first, of course!
yes thats why i sugggest to disconnect any HDD, to dismitt possibility like you descibed, but problem ramain, so is not HDD related

  • Driver problems with Windows Vista 64

Hello, I recently upgraded to Vista 64bit. I have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy model# SB0090.
Whenever I try and install the drivers, it says:
"Set is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this Setup. Setup will exit."
I've been reading through the forums, and haven't seen anything useful. I tried downloading the 3rd party software by kX that I saw someone recommend, but it didn't work either. It said it installed the drivers, but that there was a conflict. Still says "No Audio Output Device is installed" in the bottom tray.
Someone help me, I want to have sound on my PC with vista

  • HP LaserJet 1022 driver problem with Windows 7

Hello Abzozo1.  I understand you're getting the "webcam not detected" error.
What is the exact product number of the notebook?  This document can show you where it is located.
Has the webcam ever worked since you upgraded the operating system?
To ensure that you have all of the software installed properly I suggest installing the HP Software Framework and HP Support Assistant.  You can then run HP Support Assistant and it will automatically install any missing software.  If that doesn't resolve the issue I suggest you take a look at my thread located here.  This thread covers the common solutions to this error.
Take a look at that thread and let me know if any of the steps help.
Have a great day!  I'll keep an eye out for your next reply.
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"

  • I'm going nuts with display driver problems!!!!

    Hi everyone,
I joined the forum some time ago but I can't get back in so I logged in with a new ID.(Pain)
I have a problem that I hope someone can help with When I place any of my work or a photo into CS5-Ext. I can't do any work on it? No matter what tool other than the paint brush I use, as soon as I click on the picture / work it disappears and will only re-appear if I click on it again. I've tried all sorts and it's driving me nuts, Can anyone help?---PLEASE---
    Thanks.

That sounds like a display driver problem.
    What OS are you running?
If Windows, you can often visit the web site of the maker of your video card and download/install an updated driver.
If OSX, you need to look to Apple and their OS updates to get updated display drivers.

  • Satellite C660 - display driver stopped responding

I have a 3 year old Toshiba Satellite C660 and every time I play on Sims 3 the game crashes and the screen flashes black to white and displays an error message which reads "Display Driver stopped responding" and sometimes it even ends up being a blue screen saying there is a problem with the software?
I not very computer savvy so if you could explain to me in simple terms how to rectify this problem
    Thanks

The others asked for OS. This means Operating System like Windows ;)
The notebook Satellite C660-11K was preinstalled with Windows 7.
I assume you are still using this OS.
    Now to the graphic card.
The notebook was equipped with an 1-st generation Intel i3 CPU (Nehalem) containing the HD graphic card.
So if you need an graphic card driver, you should check the Intel page for latest driver.
    I found this latest one:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22518&lang=eng
    Its a zip package.
    Download and unzip the package.
Now go to device manager and choose update driver. Now you have to use the Advanced installation procedure. This allows you to choose the driver files from the unzipped Intel graphic driver folder.
    Then reboot the notebook.
    Good luck
