Satellite A-300D and the general access to folders

Hello,
I can not open access to folders and files in control centre of networks and the general access. Earlier all was good, and now at attempt to open access to a file, after acknowledgement of the rights of the manager, occurs nothing - access is switched off. And at attempt to open access to the general folders writes "Server RPC it is inaccessible".
I think that an error in system.
How it is possible to correct?

Are you using your notebook at office?
If yes contact the administrator they can give you the rights to access the network folders.
Otherwise I think your firewall or security software is blocking the network access. Try to disable it and check it again.

If you created as an Exchange account on the iPhone (not IMAP or POP) and you have Push on it should all work smoothly; Reading a message on either client should mark the other read (it does on mine). Try deleting the account from the phone, rebooting the phone (to clear out old settings), then go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendar, add an account and tap Microsoft Exchange and add the account back.
There is a fundamental difference between BB and iPhone that you should be aware of; on the BB you do not sync directly with Exchange; you sync with the RIM server which then syncs with your Exchange server. The iPhone syncs directly with Exchange using Microsoft's ActiveSync protocol. So in some ways they will behave differently. But ActiveSync should manage marking messages as read correctly.

Windows 7 Desktop goes Black after a period of inactivity and the user accesses their machine again

Hi There,
Wonder if someone can offer some help to an unusual problem?
Users have Windows 7 machines which all have a desktop background theme...Blue with a company Logo.
User will go for lunch and leave their position, after a period of time screen saver and/or powersaver kicks in...all normal at this point.
After an hour they come back to their machine and they move the mouse/tap a key and bring the machine back to life (excuse my terminology :) ) and the desktop has gone from the default theme to a black desktop...Icons/Applications will behave fine.
The temporary workaround is:
1. Log off and on windows to restore the desktop back to normal.
or...
2. I do a restart of the service "Desktop window Manager Session Manager" which puts the desktop back to normal as well.
Has anyone seen this and worked a way how to do a permanent fix....have struggled on Google as all answers i find are around screen savers which IS NOT the problem.

First of all thanks for your quick response.
I forgot to mention these are machines we maintain on a customer site and I am planning a visit there soon so will be looking at some of the options you mention and then post a fuller report back for you.
In the meantime...
Re 1 we may actually be able to consider not going to "sleep" as this is a 24/7 operation environment so would not be a big deal to do that so may try that on my site visit.
Re 2 we do have a master build IF we need to re-build/re-image...its a fairly locked down completed environment so new machines/rebuilds wont happen often. Just for info we re-did our build from scratch very carefully.
On site going to check the Firmware updates as you quite rightfully mention could be out-of-date and benefit from an update. We last updated them about October/November last Lear.
I have just remembered that sometimes the users resolve the issue by using the mouse and dragging an empty box around the screen and this restores the desktop colour etc...very strange one!!

Directory Services forum, but as Dave says, I don't think that AD will have this information
If you are running Exchange, you can check the transport logs for event ID Expand, and depending on how long you keep your logs, the "RelatedRecipientAddress" will be the group name, and the "Timestamp" will be the time used.

What's the difference between the Histogram VI and the General Histogram VI ?

Hello,
I did a google and forum search for this and came up empty. I'd like to know if there should be a difference in how the two work ?
I'm asking because I was giving the exact same X array to both and was getting two different results, unless I also specified the interval/#bins to be equal for both of them. (interval for Histogram VI and #bins for General Histogram VI)
This also means I'd like to know what the difference is between intervals and #bins ? Are they the same thing with just different names ?
This is more to get a general understanding on how the two VIs work than getting a specific solution for a problem by the way, so any help is appreciated

For the purposes of understanding these VI's, they are the interchangeable. In the case of statistics, the interval can be thought of "the number of pieces of data you want to spread across a population". When doing this, you are placing the pieces of data into virtual "bins". Hence, they are basically the same thing.
As far as the difference in the two VI's , there's nothing I can say that can't be said by comparing the help for each VI. The advanced VI just gives you tighter control of your data.

HT1918 My credit card won't work, and the general solutions aren't working.

About a month ago I changed my debit card on my itunes account after I had some fraudulant activity in my bank account. Itunes rejected the new card as not matching the bank information. However, each time I try to fix it, it charges my bank account $1.40. This is only in my pending charges, it never sticks. After checking all the banking information with the bank to make sure address matched, I was instructed to go the USPS website and check the zip code. I did and changed it. It still rejected the card with the same error. I've tried to update it online and on my phone. My itunes account is stating that I have a charge for something I purchased. I'M TRYING TO PAY IT. It keeps kicking back my cards.
Yesterday, I remembered that I have another debit card attached to an account I don't really use often, so I transfered a few dollars over and tried to use that card. It stated that the security code was invalid. It wasn't because I was looking right at it and tried to enter it a few times.
This is really frustrating. I can't even update my free apps or download anything on my iphone 4s.

Same thing is happening to me and I cannot for the life of me speak to a human being who seems to have any clue as to what is going on. Can't get or update apps on my iPhone or iPad. It's ridiculous. Would love to hear whether you found a solution to this issue. Thanks!

Wifi is very unstalbe on my Satellite L50D-B and the Toshiba updates to win 10 seems to be infected

The computer is less than 2 weeks old. It came with windows 8.1 AND undstable wifi so I thought i would upgrade to win 10 to overcome this issue that is common if you look at the net and without any easy solutions. The update did not resolve the problem - the wifi connectivity is still very poor. I tried to update the drivers through the Toshiba Service station but were not able to download anything as my avast antivirus insist on the files being infected with win32:evo-gen.(look at the pic)Not just a single file - all of them. A similar attempt to get the files form here http://win10upgrade.toshiba.com/swupdate/eula.aspx?region=TAIS&lang=en&country=US Gave the same result - files are infected.No clues in the wild - and avast mentiones nothing So - I got a pc without connectivity - in 2015 its like a car without motor and wheels

Updating the drivers does seem like the best action. Try disabling your antivirus.

HT4623 my iPod is the first generation i think and i can't get my iTunes to recognize the device and when i go to settings and the general there is no "software update" to select to update my device. is there anyway to make this happen?

The Software update started in iOS 5. The 1G can only go as high as 3.1.3

How can I export my Firefox bookmarks (and the hierarchical structure of folders) to the Scrapbook Add-On?

I'm trying to replicate the hierarchical structure of my Firefox bookmarks in Scrapbook and save the webpages automatically. Is that possible in an automatic (or easy) way?

I'm not sure how Scrapbook works, but if you open a web page, can it automatically capture all the linked pages? If so, try this:
(1) Export your bookmarks to an HTML file, and save it in a convenient locaiton (e.g., desktop). This article has the steps: [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]].
(2) Open the file you just created in Firefox. You could double-click the file, or use Open from the menu, or drag and drop it on an open tab.
Will Scrapbook work with that?

The bookmarks plug in seems to be highly disorganized and difficult to access in an organised manner

1. When I sort the bookmarks folder I cannot get it to place all of the created folders at the top of the sort list and the general bookmarked pages below the list of sorted folders. I would have thought that this would be a very basic requirement of any library program like this.
2. when I go to bookmark a page, if I try to place the bookmark in a created folder, it will only show me about 5 of the 19 odd folders that I created. so many of the bookmarks have to go in the root folder instead of the intended folder created for that type of page. Very disappointing for a powerful program like this.
3. It would be nice to sort on more than one criteria, ie first sort, alphabetic , followed by second sort, most recently used or whatever "double sort" people would like to use. Can this be done??

Are you using the library window, or are you only using the sidebar or drop down list ? see [[How do I use bookmarks?]] . I do not recognise the problems you are describing.
The bookmarks library 'All bookmarks' is by default set with second level folders
*'bookmarks toolbar'
*'bookmarks menu'
*and 'unsorted bookmarks'.
You will be able to view a sidebar displaying a tree of the structure and a main window pane showing the detail of the chosen folder. You can rearange the tree structure as you like and the folders stay in those positions.
If you choose a sort order such as alpha sort the folders and single bookmarks resort in the main window, the tree in the sidebar remains as it is.
The content of a folder in its unsorted state may be rearanged as you wish you may intersperse sub folders as you like or group them as you like.
if you have been adding bookmarks or folders to the unsorted bookmarks they behave in a similar way

Want to switch off the general search and open the advanced search

I want to switch off the general search and open the advanced search when i load my application. For this I have followed the steps previously posted in the forum.
I have created a version(0001) and for that version i have checked the open advance search. If i do this way it works perfectly but when i click on the result list the detail tab does not come. But when i remove this settings and go through general search both the advance search and the general search works properly. I am able to get the details tab.
Why am I not getting the details tab if i open the advanced search directly. Please give your inputs.

Extending a network and the new guest access feature

Hi-
Currently, I have 3 of the 802.11n Airport Extremes—One creating the network, and two extending the network.
I would like to get the new feature that allows you to setup guest access---
My question: Will I be able to purchase ONE of the new Airports, setup guest access and extend it using the older Airports, or will I have to buy three of the new Airports to make this work….

It would seem almost certain that the older AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) would not extend both the normal network and the guest access network. You should be able to extend the normal network.

What do I do when I've tried upgrading to the latest version of Firefox and I see the message: "access denied"?

I've tried multiple times to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox. I click download, then run, and shortly after, a little pop-up appears titled "7-Zip" and the message "Access is denied" is within the pop-up.

It is possible that anti-virus software is causing the problem.

Satellite A300/300D frozen, can't do anything

I am using a Toshiba Satellite A300/300D and just used a external DVD-writer for the first time with the laptop, all was fine disc burned successful but when I took disc out and went too open internet page the laptop I couldn't do anything.
Keys, power button, mouse pad nothing happening. All has frozen.
Please Help!
Can't even turn off.

Just press power button and keep it down few seconds. It will force notebook to switch-off.
Then press it again and start notebook. I hope you will be able to use it again.
Method described by vmanto will not end with losing everything on HDD. it has nothing to do with saved data on HDD but you will lose all data saved in RAM at this moment.
