Satellite a100 flash card utility

In my manual there is a note for flash cards function system apllications and modifications.
Can someone tell me what it is ?

Sounds like you need to update your Toshiba Value Added Package. This can be downloaded from:

  • Satellite L550 - Flash Cards stopped working after Windows 7 64bit repair

I tried installing/reinstalling/uninstalling and then installing again, Toshiba Value Added Package and flash cards support utility. No luck...
Flash cards utility is installed: [https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3002908/Capture.PNG]
    What now? :)
    Laptop model: L550-15F (PSLN4E)
Also, does anyone know why a search for drivers for my model returns bluetooth stack package but my model doesn't seem to have bluetooth? :)

    Hi
Wait a moment, please! In which order you have installed/reinstalled the Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility? It would be interesting to know what you have done exactly.
I have used the following repair order for this problem:
I uninstalled Flash Cards Support Utility and then Value Added Package. I did make a restart and cleaned the system by using CCleaner. One restart more and I installed Value Added Package firstly and then Flash Cards Support Utility. Now I did make the last restart and the FN keys started to work!
Its important that you install the new versions for Windows 7!
That means Flash Cards Support Utility version 1.63.0.4 and VAP version 1.2.34_64. I founded both on the Toshiba website :)

  • Satellite A500 - Flash Cards don't work after Windows 7 upgrade

    Hi,
I have a Satellite A500 PSAM3A-04200E. Recently I did an upgrade from Vista to Win 7. I used my system restore disks to reinstall Vista and then did the upgrade to Windows 7 using the upgrade assistant.
I find that I can no longer use the Fn key to enable/disable features..
I have tried downloading the VAP and running it. I have also tried the Start->Toshiba->Utilities->Restart Flash Cards. Neither of these have worked even after a restart...
Can anyone give me some pointers on what to do next?
    Thanks

    Hi buddy,
If you have already reinstalled Toshiba Value Added Package, you should also (re)install Flash Cards Support Utility. This tool controls the FN keys and is necessary to get them working.
You can download it on official Toshiba website:
    www.mytoshiba.com.au
    Check this!!!

  • Why do screen of Satellite A100 flashes when switched off?

    Hi,
I have a toshiba A100,Go 7600 Gpu, just bought it two weeks ago, and im very satisfied with the quality and performance so far :), just noticed one thing today, the room light was off and the laptop switched off with the screen in open position, i leave it open normally when at home, i noticed that the screen flashes like every 1 min in what seems like fixed interval of time, with or without AC plugged in, not a very bright flash though not easily noticed, but im sure it does flash, so my question is should i be worried about that? thanks in advance :)

    > Now that Im not getting any feedback on this should I be worried?
Maybe nobody has noticed something similar on the A100.
Im an A100 owner and I have not noticed anything like this issue.
    You write above:
    >not a very bright flash though not easily noticed
I think nobody stare at the display and wait till something will flash while the OS shuts down
So please dont be mad at me because I think either you have some kind of hallucinations ;) and you are little bit paranoid or there is really something wrong and you need a help from the ASP.
So if you think this is an display fault then try to contact the ASP in your country and explain the guys this problem.
    Good luck

  • Satellite A100 (PSAA9): Win7 + screen brightness adjustment issue

    Hi
I have installed Windows 7 64-bit on my toshiba A100 (psaa9) machine, and i cannot modify screen brightness anymore.
It is maximum brightness always. Fn key does not work, and neigther i can modify the brightness manually through nvidia control panel. nvidia driver is 7.15.11.7967, installed automatically with windows.

i've read suggestions about Value Added Package to be installed, but there is no package like this for my model.
how can i fix my problem?
    thanks

    hi all,
    thank you for reply!!!
ok, i tried to install VAP and Flash Card Utility for Satellite L500. first, installing Flash Card Utility i got invalid serial number error. i've read in forum that it might be due to inappropriate driver for my version on laptop or if i did not install VAP first. so, second, i tried to installed VAP, but i get value "Setup tvap error 0x8146045B" :(
according my display driver: it was nVidia driver automatically installed with win7. in fact there is no display driver for win7 64bit version on toshiba website... i guess i have more problems with display, as my secondary display blinks every time some system event like driver/program installation or usb device plugging-in or -out happens.

  • Satellite A100-924: Hotkeys driver for Win 7 needed

    Hello,
I installed Windows Vista on my Pc Satellite A100-924, where can I find drivers for hotkeys?
On Toshiba site I find only the ones for XP, but.... on my PC that I bought about 3 years ago, there is a sticker on the case that says that this computer is Windows Vista capable.
Is possible that Toshiba has not released a drivers that work with Vista?
thanks in advance at all.... Max
Message was edited - changed Vista to Win 7

    Hi
Im afraid there is no further utility to get the FN buttons working. The VAP is the only one package which controls this setting under Vista and Win 7.
I remember that the Flash Cards utility (part of VAP) controls the FN buttons.
Please check if the Flash Card Utility is enabled in Programs -> Toshiba -> Flash Cards utility

  • Tecra S5-14R: Toshiba Flash Cards stops working: Runtime Error R6025

    Hi all.
    Hardware: Toshiba Tecra S5-14R
I have a problem with Toshiba Flash Cards software.
When it starts I've received an error "R6025 - pure virtual function call", and then the microsoft alert that Toshiba Flash Cards software stopped working
I'm using Windows Vista Business 32 bit OS, and I've downloaded new version of Toshiba Flash Cards software (v.2.00.05), but it doesn't solve the problem.
    Could somebody help?

    Hi
It seems that this error is known to the Microsoft support people and therefore they have published a knowledge base article.
Such error appears also if you would run the software Microsoft Money.
Please try the steps described here:
[Runtime Error: "R6025 -Pure virtual function call"|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240437]
    I would recommend doing this:
    1. Disable the Flash cards
    2. Click Start, type cmd in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
    3. At the command prompt, type the following lines one at a time, and then press ENTER after each line:
    - regsvr32 softpub.dll
    - regsvr32 wintrust.dll
    - regsvr32 initpki.dll
    - regsvr32 dssenh.dll
    - regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
    - regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
    - regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
    - regsvr32 sccbase.dll
    - regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
    4. Enable the Flash Card Utility again

  • Flash Cards do not work on my Satellite L750

    Hello,
I own a Toshiba Satellite L750 PSK1WA-03C00R and my flash cards do not work, the function keys work, but my flash cards do not.
This model does not come with the Flash Card Support Utility, it does however come with the Value Added Package.
I have uninstalled, CCleaned and reinstalled and repeated mulitple times, trying to get this to work properly. I have also restarted after each of these steps.
I can't figure the problem out and thought that I'd see what you guys' recommend before I resort to getting Toshiba's support services.
I also do not want to have to resort to a system restore, but, if I really have to and have no choice, I will when I can.
I hope someone may be able to help me and do look forward to what support you can offer me.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Chris.

    Hello Pedro,
I have checked on thses settings and there is the option to allow the mouse to bring up the flash cards, this will bring up the flash cards if I would like to do that, I would however love to use the keys seeing as the mouse option seems to close any games I may have running and take me to desktop and this is not preferrable.
There is no "Reset Flash Cards" option, I have serched through many files and done many serches for this option and no luck, which is a shame.
Do you have any other suggestions? I would love to have this work.
The reason I did the reinstall was to get my brightness keys to work again. Sure, this fixed the problem, but now I have no flash cards. Any suggestions would make me a very, very happy man.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Chris

  • Satellite A100 PSAA8K Stuck at BIOS after BIOS is flashed

    Hello all,
I used Toshiba's BIOS update utility on this machine. It was working fine before, now it gets stuck with the Toshiba splash logo. Pressing F2 and/or F12 do not work. Pressing esc. Gives the following error. No TPM or TPM has problem. Everything else seems as normal. It show Bios 6.00 which is what I'd in theory flashed it to.
I'm guessing the flash went bad. Is there an emergency recovery procedure for this?

    Hi guys!
I have a great news for all, who still fighting with "no tpm or tpm has problem"!
    I find a solution!
That is an instruction how to flash old bios to Toshiba Satellite A100-712 (PSAA9E):
    1. Get USB Diskette Drive
    2. Download Phoenix Crisis Recovery Disc with phlash16.exe 1.6.5.4
    3. Create Crisis Disk by running CRISDISK.BAT (Phoenix Crisis Recovery Disc)
    4. Download this version of San Antonio BIOS (5.90) from there: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/bios-20070709111839.zip
    5. Extract files from archive and find files s10gm590.rom or s10pm590.rom
    6. Copy one of this files to recovery diskette you have created before (you have to delete BIOS.WPH):
6.1 s10gm590.rom - if you have intel gm video
6.2 s10pm590.rom - if you have ATI, GeForce video
(Also you have to copy to disc file "phlash.ini" and change in this file option UI Advanced=0 to "1" this will give command to BIOS to downgrade)
    7. Rename copied file "s10...m590.rom" to BIOS.WPH
    8. Remove battery from your notebook.
    9. Remove AC cord.
    10. Plug USB Diskette Drive to notebook
    11. Insert your recovery diskette.
    12. Press and hold keys "WIN" and "f"
    13. Plug AC
    14. Push ON (sometimes is better to push 3 keys together "WIN" +"f" + "ON")
    15. Your diskette drive had to start working - if not try again p.12-14
    16. For a while your computer starts to beep (near 2 minutes approx.).
    17. Wait until computer will reboot.
    18. Press F1 when chesksum error will occurs.
    That is all!
    Have fun!

  • Satellite L755: Win8.1 update - Flash Cards message: Win 8 test version

    Hi;
After I update to windows 8.1 from win8 mc I am getting message after my laptop is starting from (Toshiba Flash Card) like the picture bellow,
Any idea how to fix it?
I remove VAP then system driver and then functions key utility and re installing it - no change made?
    Toshiba Satellite L755
    Windows 8.1 64bit
    [http://s9.postimg.org/46hbl5hm7/Untitled.jpg]

For solve this problem i just remove PC health monitor and download it for windows 8.1 Satellite P855 (for example).

After installation and reboot message window does not appear.
P.S. I have the same notebook model and OS version as you.

  • Re: Satellite L655-11J flash card F8 missing Win 8.1

First I searched the internet I read so many threads about this but none is regarding my problem.
My wireless card is +Broadcom 8.11n+ with ID PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727
Is not supported by new TVAP flash cards which I had to install in Windows 8.1
I noticed that in Windows 7 when I tried to install a new version of TVAP the F8 is missing,
So I was stuck in an old version.
I tied to add my wireless ID to the registry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA\WirelessAPL\BT WLANDP
as it is not listed with no luck
The only way I think is to contact TVAP developers and ask them to re-support my wireless again in a new release if they will make one, as I needed it badly it to turn off Bluetooth wireless as well.
Although I can turn the WIFI off but the light of will stay on.
I there is any other way anyone can tell I am willing to try
    Thanks in advance

    >Is not supported by new TVAP flash cards which I had to install in Windows 8.1
As far as I know the Satellite L655-11 isnt Win 8 supported notebook model and also Win 8.1 is not supported too.
Its not listed on this WINDOWS 8.1 UPDATE - SUPPORTED MODELS page
    http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/jsp/checkWindows8_1Compatible.do?service=EU
This means that there are no Win 8 / Win 8.1 drivers for the L655 series.
    _Secondly_
The VAP (Value added package) isnt released for Win 8 or Win 8.1
The VAP was replaced with Toshiba System Driver
Additionally to get FN key working, the Toshiba Function Key Utility for Win 8.1 needs to be installed.
These both tools are needed to get the FN keys (also the F8) working properly under Win 8 or Win 8.1

Hi, I had a similar issue on Sat Pro A200 PSAE7E. wrote to Toshiba support and got the following reply (in July) - never heard from them again but the older Canadian version worked for me:
Thank you for emailing Toshiba regarding your issue with Toshiba Flashcards.
The issue you have highlighted is currently being investigated by our level 3 team because unfortunately, you are not the only customer affected by this problem.
The only alternative we can currently suggest is to download and install the Flashcard Utility update from our website in Canada. This has been found to resolve the issue in most cases. The web link for this update can be found here:
    http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/files_Downloads/psae6c/TOSHIBA-Flash-Cards-Support-Utility.zip
If you wish for further support with this issue, please feel free to contact us by email again or call in to our Technical Support department on the number shown below. However, we would like to point out that this issue is being worked on and that a solution should be provided soon.

  • Graphics card issue - Satellite A100-313 shuts down by itself

    I have a satellite A100-313 and I'm using vista.
Everytime when I play games, the notebook shuts itself off after some time. It varies, normally have 10-20min of playing.
And when I immediately turn it on again, I get a black screen but the computer is running. I'd have to wait a while to turn it on again for the screen to work.
So it starts up again and the resolution is changed to 1024x764 (the native resolution is 1280).
I assume it is a graphics card issue (I have a Geforce 7600 Go). I already updated to the latest vista drivers available from the Toshiba site (the one from september).
What can I do to fix this? The automatic shutdown normally only happens when I play games.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hm, sounds tricky.
I can suggest you the following:
Download the latest bios for your machine from the toshiba download site:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
And last but not least, check if your cooling system of your machine is not clobbed with dust. You can clean it up with a can with compressed air to remove the dust from the fan and the heatpipe-fin.
If you have some questions, just ask.
    Nice weekend
