Satellite A100 - USB not working after XP installation
Hi Guys
I am reloading Satellite A100 PSAA9A OCV004 for a friend he has lost the disks so I have loaded a legal copy of XP home everything going well so far but I can't get the USB working any ideas?
Tnx Mick.
Hi Mick,
Have you installed new Service Pack 3 for Windows XP? This is important because it contains many important updates.
After Service Pack 3 installation you can start with driver installation. Everything you can download on Toshiba website.
Its also important that you install the chipset driver.

Satellite L450D Webcam not working after new installation without recovery
Hi there,
as posted in the thread title I have a problem with the integrated webcam of a customer notebook. Two days ago the operating system of this laptop was damaged by a virus and needed to be re-installed. I tried to install it with the recovery partition, which did not work. After it I tried to re-built it with the dvd I burned from the recovery partition with the same result.
The only thing that worked was a clean install with a windows 7 64 Bit retail dvd and the key printed on the sticker of the laptop. I managed to get everything working again except one part - the webcam.
No driver installation, bios update and re-installation worked to get this part to work.
Did anyone of you know this problem and have a fix for me?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings Saphire
P.S.: One thing shall be also important. When I look into the installed devices manager the driver for the webcam is listed as usb webcam and the manufaturer of it is Microsoft.Hi
I dont think that this needs to be fixed because I dont think its hardware related issue.
I think there is something wrong with the software on your notebook.
I mean everything worked perfectly until virus has damage the OS. Right?
You said this:
>I tried to install it with the recovery partition, which did not work. After it I tried to re-built it with the dvd I burned from the recovery partition with the same result.
I really wonder why you could not get this working using Recovery disk.
So possibly this is the key to this issue
On the Toshiba European driver page I could find Registry Patch v1.1 For Win 7 64bit
Also webcam driver v 1.1.1.4 is available there
I think the OS is responsible for your issue possibly some patches are applied or similar -

Hi Team
Ciscowork 3.2.1 daemon manager is not working after patch installation.
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>net start crmdmgtd
The CiscoWorks Daemon Manager service is starting.
The CiscoWorks Daemon Manager service could not be started.
The service did not report an error.
More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3534.
Also I checked syslog.log and it is showing below error
an 17 14:39:34 127.0.0.1 100: <28> dmgt[1316]: 2507(W):Daemon manager anonymous user has not been set up: 00000569

With Regards,
neenaDuring installation, an user casuser is created with certian security settings and if those are modified\removed, DM will not start.
Following message will be seen in /log/syslog.log
Daemon manager anonymous user has not been set up: 00000775
To solve the issue, run resetcasuser.exe located under /setup.support to recreate the settings.
Make sure casuser account is not locked out. Make sure casuser is a member of casusers group and is set to "password never expires".
Additionally you can try to make casuser a member of adiministrators group.

With Regards,
neenaNeena,
Check the properties of casuser under Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users and make sure it is not disabled or locked out. The only thing checked should be "Password never expires". Change anything required and reset casuser. -

I try to do that (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 19#p906119), but no work to me too.

Last edited by KingYes (2011-05-08 11:03:55)FYI, the latest installation CD version is "2010.05". It's best to use the latest. Get it from http://www.archlinux.org/download/
I'm not sure but I believe all other LiveCDs are custom made outside of the official Archlinux development team.
I recommend downloading the CD I mentioned and follow this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners%27_Guide
I've installed arch many times on different hardware and the only time I lost mouse and keyboard was after I removed "10-evdev.conf" and "10-quirks.conf" from /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/. I copied both back from backups, rebooted and m&k were functional again. My guess is "10-evdev.conf" was the file I needed. Check both these files exist. -
Joystick use in a Labview VI not working after an installer is made.
I have a program that is supposed to take input from a joystick, and output a series of RS-485 signal to control devices. It works fine when I run it on the computer I am programming on, but when I build an installer and put it onto a computer without Labview (other than what the installer puts in), it does not take input from the joystick anymore. It also does not seem to be correctly reporting errors related to the joystick (it should throw an error when I choose an invalid joystick index, and with only 1 joystick, it should be index 0, but for some reason, I can put any number in there, and it is not erroring, despite the fact that no joystick exists at that index after it is queried. Is there some additional installer that I should include when building the installer?
I am currently using Labview 8.2.
ThanksMy appologies for the delay in replay, but with the holidays and all...
Anyway, the only DLLs I see in anything that is generated, are NISysInf.dll and customResource0009.dll. Not really sure why it has such a vague name, but that is what was there. As for the RS-485, it is via a USB to RS-485 unit which is installed and working with other RS-485 utilizing programs, including other labview programs, and to go with it I have bundled NI-VISA. Normally it would error if I put it on a comport or joystick that does not exist, but when I put it on a comport with a nonsensical name and joystick index 8, neither seems to complain, and they still do not work correctly with correct values. The part that does not make sense is that it works on the computer I am writing it on correctly, just when I install it from a built installer does it not work (which makes it a pain to debug when uninstall and restarting multiple times to test an attempt to fix it.
The other possible information that I can think of that might help was that this program may have been written in Labview 8.0.1, not the current labview 8.2 that I am using (I am editing some code somebody already wrote in our company, so I do not have all of the information about its development. I'm still rather new to Labview, so I'm not sure how to check if such is so, and if that might be causing the errors.
So to summarize, what would cause no errors to be thrown, when it obviously is not detecting the com port or joystick correctly, and to work only on the development computer fine and not on a fresh comptuer. -
USB not work after unplug device
I had a satellite m645-s4050, after unplug a usb device, the USB ports from left side stopped working, the right side port still working, this is the second time it hapend to me, the first time i just update de BIOS and everyting work fine again, but now i can not update de bios again because i had the newest version.

The techniques in this article apply to Windows 7 as well.
USB port may stop working after you remove or insert a USB device
I don't know if the Fix it runs though. If you try it, please let us know.

Phone not working after infinity installation
I have just moved my phone and broadband from Sky to Bt and the engineer called this morning to complete the installation. I have 2 phone sockets. When I had broadband originally installed it was before the days of filters so it required a BT engineer visit. As my computer was upstairs the engineer 'back wired' the sockets (apologies if I have the terminology wrong) so the adsl faceplate was fitted to the upstairs wired extension. Today, the Openreach engineer was initially puzzled but said he would be able to install the Infinity faceplate on the upstairs extension as originally fitted. He checked the line was ok, checked the broadband connection and put the faceplate back on the 2 sockets. After he left I tried to make a call via the downstairs socket without success and I assumed that the phone line had not yet been changed back to BT. This afternoon I received an email from BT advising that my phone was now active but the downstairs socket will not work. I am able to make and receive calls on the upstairs extension. I have just spent 40 minutes on the phone to BT, explaining the problem to 4 different people. Each BT employee advised that it would cost £130 for an engineer to revisit my house to correct the fault that they had somehow caused! To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. Has anyone any suggestions how I can resolve the problem. All 4 BT employees did not really understand the problem. I would appreciate any help.
Solved!
Go to Solution. You cannot use a phone connection for broadband when on Infinity. The only connection that can be used is that which comes from the home hub 3, which is near the Openreach modem.
You have to use wireless, run an Ethernet cable, or use Powerline adapters.
You phone should work if it is plugged into the botton socket of the new Infinity master socket.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

We have about 1,800 workstations running Windows 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit) running various versions of the Java JRE from 6 update 32 through 7 update 51. Most are on 6 update 45. We would like to standardize on Java 7 update 51 (32-bit) and get everyone updated to that version for security reasons.
For the past two weeks, we have been having trouble with our installation pre-pilot. What we are seeing is that our procedure successfully closes any open Internet Explorer windows and Java-related processes, uninstalls all old versions of the Java JRE, and then claims to have successfully installed Java 7 update 51. The Java Control panel works. We can even take Internet Explorer to Verify Java Version or Java Tester - What Version of Java Are You Running? and confirm that the Java applets on those sites are loading (though the latter only works after adding the site to the exceptions site list); however, when testers try to access our Kronos Workforce Central 6.3.10 system, the Java applets used by that system do not load.
We have tried the following things, none of which worked:
Clear Internet Explorer browser cache and cookies.
Clear the local Java cache.
Reboot the computer.
Reset Internet Explorer settings, including personal settings.
The one thing which does work is going into the Java Control Panel, going to the Security tab, unchecking "Enable Java content in the browser", pressing Apply, pressing OK on the pop-up window, checking the "Enable Java content in the browser" box again, pressing OK, pressing OK on the pop-up window, and then restarting Internet Explorer. It is only after this point that all Java applets, including the ones used by Kronos Workforce Central 6.3.10, work.
What I need to know is how I can automate the procedure of reinitializing the "Enable Java content in the browser" checkbox after installation or am I doing something wrong or missing a step in the automated installation that is causing this to happen?
We are using Microsoft SCCM 2007 R3 to accomplish this upgrade, and everything is being run on the client machine using the SYSTEM account. First, the PowerShell script "javaclean.ps1" is run, with part of the command-line process changing the PowerShell script execution policy to Bypass. This script handles the closing of Java-dependent applications and Java processes and uninstalls old Java versions.
javaclean.ps1:

After this script is complete, SCCM calls a the VBS script "install.vbs" to perform the actual installation of Java JRE 7 update 51.

Help on this issue would be much appreciated! It turns out that this is actually a problem with Kronos Workforce Central. We had the "site.java.plugin.CLSID.familyVersion" setting in that application set to "clsid:CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-FFFF-ABCDEFFEDCBA", which is the Java CLSID for Java 6. After updating this value to "clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93" (the Java universal CLSID), this problem did not occur upon the automatic upgrade of Java.
We have both Java 6 and Java 7 in our environment, and did during our Kronos implementation, so I don't know why we were using the Java 6 CLSID in the first place.

Satellite L350D - WLAN not working after recovery disk
Hello there
I just got a L350D. I ran the Recovery Disk tool, without any other programm running. It was on a good way of finishing the second disk and than: BAM! blue screen. Since the start up, my LAN and WLAN is not working.
It always says "WLAN 2.0 bg Adapter" to which no driver is found. The correct driver is a Realtek for both WLAN and LAN.
Do you think the crash busted the WLAN and LAN module?
Things i tried:
System reset
Driver reinstall
but nothing worked.
Has anyone any hints?
Thanks a lot!
mycaleHi!
I dont know what the reason is for this BSOD during the installation but can you post the BSOD code? So you can search on the Microsoft Knowledge Base for this code.
Furthermore I would try to update the BIOS of your notebook that you can find on the Toshiba website:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
After you have updated the BIOS try to update the driver of WLAN and LAN card or try to reinstall Windows again using the Toshiba recovery disk.

Microsoft Word 2008 does not work after lion installation
After I installed Lion in my MacBook Pro, Microsoft word 2008 failed to work properly. Each time I try to quit word an error message appears and word closes and reloads automatically. The only way I can now really quite word is by the 'Force quit' option (in the apple menu). Word was working properly with Snow Leopard, so no idea what happened there... Any hint? Thanks
Ok, did exactly what you said... To 'make word crash' I only had to open it and then try to 'quit' it, in crashes 100% of the time...

T61 sound not working after re-installation
Hi,
I am re-installing Windows XP Pro SP2 on several laptops.
I have an issue with some T61.
The installation of the driver (found on Lenovo website) is successful.
Windows displays the sound icon, I can open it and change the volume but I can't hear any sound.
I am sure it was working fine before re-installation.
I have tried two ways:
- installing KB888111, then sound driver
- installing SP3, then sound driver
But none is working.
Do you have an idea of anything I could have missed?
Where can I get previous versions of the drivers?
Thank you.
Solved!

The computer was on mute after re-installation and the button above the keyboard wasn't working properly (I had to press really hard).
Thank you. -
Satellite M100 sound not working after installing Windows 7
Everything else is working after this upgrade except the sound. Have tried everything. Any suggestions?
Many Thanks.
RoryHi,
For me the case is clear: Windows 7 is not the market as yet and its not released as yet. So I think this is the problem.
Anyway, have you tried to install the driver from the Toshiba website? There you can also find the Synaptics driver. Its for Vista but normally the drivers for Vista are also work in Windows 7. Its worth a try.

Have you tried the key combination FN+F9? So you can enable and disable the touchpad but I doubt that this works. Normally you need the Toshiba utility for this

Satellite M30: FN keys not working after IE7 installation
I installed IE7 and noticed that the fn keys no longer work. (Satellite M30)
I am not sure if that was the catalyst because I'm not sure how long the problem has existed for.
The only ones I use often are FN+f6 and +f7.
I really need to be able to adjust the brightness of the screen. Any and all help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.Hi
First of all the display brightens can be changed also in the Toshiba Power Saver utility.
But its very strange that after the IE7 update the FN keys stopped working. I have installed the IE7 on my notebook and the FN keys still work fine.
So maybe its a simply something wring in the registry. Who knows ?:|
I would recommend reinstalling the Common Modules.
Maybe it helps!
