Satellite A105-S4094 hed replaced power adapter after connector failure.

Now won't power up at all. New adapter checks out ok with vom. IF the battery is completely drained for long time will computer runjust off of the adapter?

Yes, it should work just with the adapter.
Turn off your laptop, unplug all wires, remove the battery, and hold the power button for thirty seconds. Afterwards, reattach the battery and connections. If it still won't start, remove the battery and start with just the AC power. Next try without the AC power and just the battery. Also, check that the RAM is inserted securely. Instructions can be found in your user's guide if you need.

  • Buying the right replacement power adapter for HP Envy

The original power adapter for my brother's HP Envy Touchsmart laptop has appears to have partially melted. I'm trying to find the correct adapter to use as a replacement, but I have questions because it looks like he will have to order one of the Smart adapters, which is not what he used originally. The product number is E0M27UA#ABA. If you need any more information just ask and I will try to post it as quickly as possible. Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

  • Replace power adapter for Tecra 8100

    Hi support,
I have Tecra 8100 where its original power adapter has died. I need to buy a new one, but I found that Toshiba has replaced the PA2444U adapter model with a new model. Which power adapter model that is now compatible with Tecra 8100?
Thanks. I really need an answer because I need to work with the laptop.

The Tecra 8100 will function with many adapters from Tecra 8000, 8200, 9000, 9100 and the M1, M2 range etc.
There are of course differences in the output current rating, but in practice it is still possible to use a higher output adapter without issue, provided the voltage is 15V DC.
For example, I am currently using a model PA2450U (15V, 3A) plugged into my Tecra 9100 port replicator and this works fine. The only potential down side is that it might take longer to charge the battery than it would with the correct model (which would be rated 4A).
This means you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a suitable substitute.

  • Replacement power adapter for 2008 MacBook Pro

Does anybody know if you can get a replacement power adaptor for the 2008 MacBook Pro. Mine crapped out and I'm freaking because the one they have for sale does not look like it will work, help PLEASE!!!!

If I think I know what your saying, it sounds like the store only had the Magsafe 2 connectors for the new model Macbook Pro's. The good news is yes stores still sell both Magsafe 1 and Magsafe 2 adapters. My advice would be to just take your adapter into the store and show the sales person what you need.

  • How to replace power adapter for PowerBook G4

I have a three year old powerbook G4 and the power adapter is toast (at least I think that's the problem). Doesn't charge and no illuminated ring around the connector to the computer.
Does anyone know how to replace this? Can't find it anywhere online or at Mac retailers.
    Thanks.

Replace the power adapter plug? Most folks won't bother, it's a hassle. The whole adapter is easily available from any Mac vendor. But before replacing anything, have you tried the following:
-reset the Power Management Unit (PMU)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431?viewlocale=en_US
    -reset the PRAM
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431?viewlocale=en_US
-unplug the power adapter from the wall socket for a while to reset.

  • Replacement power adapter for Gigaworks T20 speakers

I need a replacement power supply for my Gigaworks T20 speakers. Where do you get this? The Creative Web site seems to have no information about where to get it, so any information would be appreciated.

Try to find out universal AC/DC adapter at amazon/newegg, such as this one (U.K. version): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Regulated-2000mA-Adapter-P-007F/dp/B002YY9E/ref=sr__/275-2088-483635?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=262244783&sr=8- It has many plugs, one probably must fit. But before switching the power, one should figure out the polarity of connectors. It's not the first time Creative power supplies show below average reliability. I think Creative should choose top quality power adapter suppliers, such as Antec, Delta or Seasonic, not some cheaper lower quality parts.

  • IPod mini can't see firewire power adapter after 1.4.1 update

I updated my mini to the (infamous) 1.4.1 update, and now my firewire connection doesn't appear to work. When plugged into the computer with the firewire cable, mini doesn't appear on desktop or in iTunes, though it will start recharging the battery. When firewire power adapter is plugged into dock or into mini to try to recharge, it doesn't work. I purchased a new firewire cable & adapter but it's behaving the same way. USB cable to computer works fine (mini shows up on desktop and in iTunes). I've tried the Reset, Retry Restart, Reinstall, Restore. protocol several times with no success. I've tried Resetting the mini while plugged into the firewire power adapter. No luck.
    Any suggestions?
Is there a way to uninstall this update?

  • Replacement power adapter for the ZenTouch 2

Can you believe someone stole my power adapter, but not the player itself? WTF?
Gotta love NYC. Anywho, I looked on the site here and did not see a power adapter listed for the ZenTouch 20GB. Anyone know if this exists or not? I saw one for the Zen Nomads, but they didn't list any of the ZenTouch models. Would appreciate some help on this.
    Thanks all,

This one will work. Creative really need to update this page and make it very clear what models this works with.

  • Satellite A105-S2051 does not Power up

I have a customer who brought in their laptop, the A105-s2051 that when you powered the unit on, it would go on then off. So as you hit the power button, it would loop on for about 2 seconds, then off, then on ect for 6 times and stay off.
I first replace the RAM, still looped, then took off hardware one by one and tested, still looped. I then had the MB out of the case, plugged in power, still looped on and off. Checked voltage of power supply, that was correct. Also, tried each startup with missing hardware with/without battery on each piece.
So I installed a new CPU, still looped. Only thing left was MB. Ordered MB, guess what, still looping. Repaired several hundred laptops, haven't run into this with a Toshiba before. (Had a other manufactor do same thing once, turned out PS would loose slight voltage after 5-6 seconds).
I'm stumped here, any help would be great. Thanks.

Thats a really strange issue because you changed a lot of hardware.
So I would go to an official ASP. Here you will find one:

  • Satellite Pro L300D doesn't power down after Windows XP shuts down.

Hi... Wondering if anyone can help me!
I have a Satellite ProL300D and it's just over a year old. I've had shut down problems with it pretty much since I got it, but after re-loading XP four or five times I decided to stick with restarting the laptop before shutting it down... But now that uni is finished for the year I thought I'd have a go at sorting it out again.
It basically shuts down Windows fine, although it does seem to take quite some time, then the screen goes black but the laptop hasn't powered off. The green light is still on, and the screen is still lit. As I said above, if I restart before shutting down, then it shuts down no problem, also if I watch DVDs and don't go online, it will shut down no problem. If it goes into Stand By mode (which it only does on a critical battery, about 3%, as I've set it to 'never' in the power settings, a possible cure read in another forum), then it won't do anything and has to be turned off by holding down the button. It gets stuck in whatever it was doing and won't restart etc. The laptop came with Vista and an XP downgrade.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Did you have problem with Vista before downgrading to XP? It can be OS/drivers or hardware issue. I have found something interesting about shutdown an restart troubleshooting. Not sure if it helps you:

  • Satellite A105-S4284 automatically shuts off after boot up.

    Hello everyone,
I have an "A105" laptop, running Windows XP, and it shuts off on its own when I boot it up and it reaches the desktop screen. It happens to shut off at the exact moment, every time I boot up.
I openned the laptop and cleaned all the dust on the motherboard and the heatsink, and even added new thermal paste to the CPU. Everything is connected properly, however, the fan seems to start spinning when I turn the computer on, and then after about 5-10 seconds it stops spinning (not sure if this is normal)
Anyone know what is going on? I was sure that a simple cleaning would have solved the problem, but it didn't.

If you can reach safe mode, you could try performing a system restore to a time when the computer was working.
Microsoft Windows XP - Start the computer in safe mode
Repeatedly tap F8 while booting before Windows launches to get to the menu that will allow you to choose safe mode.
Microsoft Windows XP - Run System Restore in Safe mode
Open System Restore and restore to a previous restore point. When I do this, I like to choose the most recent one and work my way backwards if it doesn't help.
