Satellite A200-1FL: Bluetooth installation issue on Win 7

Hi everyone,
I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 1FL (PSAE6E) with Windows Vista and I've just installed Windows 7 32 bits (not update nor upgrade).
The problem is that when I try to install bluetooth stack, it installs everything ok but the driver.
I picked version 7.10.12 for Windows 7 32 bits from http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=download.
The driver installation window shows up and the progress bar doesn't move.
I've waited for a long time and nothing, no response, so I have to cancel.
Nevertheless the software was installed and when I try to start Bluetooth config or any other tool, the same happens: The driver installation window shows up and nothing.
Also I tried to follow order install instructions from toshiba download drivers page guessing which drivers match each options.
May anyone know why is this happening?
Am I missing something or is there any known issue with the Bluetooth driver in Windows 7?
Thanks in advance,
Jorge

The situation happens to me even when the wifi is on. The default SO of my laptop was Windows Vista. I formatted everything but the recovering partition and installed Windows 7. Almost all the drivers and software available at the Toshiba drivers page for Windows 7 seem to work fine. Even some of the drivers mented to Windows Vista
Anyone has any other idea? I discarded hardware because the wifi works fine and the driver installer is capable of detecting when the device is on or off.

  • Satellite A200-1AX: very grainy videos after Win 7 installation

    Hello.
I have a toshiba Satellite A200-1ax and it use to have Vista when i got it.
I got rid of the OS and installed XP, thous installing the BIOS update for XP.
I've recently installed Win7 and everything is good. The only problem i have is with video files.
Every thing i watch is very grainy.
I've installed some codecs and the catalyst for Win7 beta and thing's got a bit better. Still pixelized though.
But HD video files don't work at all. It's the same as having a video card that doesn't support HD.
The audio races ahead of the video.
I haven't changed anything with the BIOS.
Could the problem be from there? Should i run the BIOS update for vista?

I use ti have Xp on the laptop and the same videos where great. Now they are grainy.
    HD doesn;t work properly.
That's the only problem with this OS...
Use to have vista, but i don;t want to go back to those memories :D
PS - i gave the copy of win7 to a friend, he installed it and the videos are OK with him.

  • Re: Satellite A200 - After Win7 installation SD card reader doesnt work

    Hello,
I have installed Windows 7 on my Satellite A200 and now cannot find my SD card reader.
Where can I find the driver for that?
I did not find it in the download section from Toshiba.
    Rob.

    Hi
The drivers for SD card reader is called Flash Media Driver.
The Flash Media Driver is for your Bridge Media Slot. This slot lets you insert either a SD card, Memory Stick (Pro) or xD picture card.
If such driver is not available for Win 7 then you should take the one released for Win Vista.
    Cheers

  • Satellite A200 - Headphones and microphone not working (Win XP)

I have fully operational Windows XP with everything working just fine. However, today I tried to connect a microphone to the notebook, the software noticed it, muted the internal speakers, but there is no sound in the headphones whatever I do. I tried if the microphone jack is all right only to find out that I have the same problem - the realtek software notices me, that I plugged in a microphone, but doesnt record any sound.
I would be more than grateful for any help.

Are you sure that you have checked all necessary sound settings?
Im not Satellite A200 owner but Ive got a similar Satellite A series and I have installed both OS (Vista & XP) on my HDD.
From my knowledge you have to check different microphone settings in the sound & audio options.
In Control Panel you will find the Sound & audio devices. Choose it!
Then choose the tab called Audio.
There you could find the area Sound recording which provides information about possible devices for sound recording.
First of all you should check if the Volume settings are set to a higher level.
Secondly check if a right device was chosen (in my case its a Realtek HD audio input).
In the other tab Voice (near audio tab) you can test the voice recording too. This could be very helpful to check if the mic functions correctly
    Please do this!
    Bye

  • Problems with Win XP drivers on a Satellite A200-1FL (PSAE06E)

    Hi,
I have problems with a WinXP 32bit installation (downgrade of vista 32bit):
with the sound, with two pci devices and with the mass storage driver.
Xp install some sound drivers: codec, imported or generic controller... I dont know,... but it doesnt work.
Please help!!! I dont know so much in all those matters...

    > Xp installs some sound drivers: codec, imported or generic controller... I dont know... but it doesnt work.
Did you check the installation instruction txt file? I dont think that you have checked it because there you will find guide lines how to install the drivers and what installation order is important!!!
I dont understand people who write anything about drivers and the installation processes and dont check the existing documents and help files.
Do firstly install everything like mentioned then if the problems stills exists you can come back and ask for the help ;)

    Hello
The BIOS downloads you can find on the same place as drivers:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Before you start the update, close all running programs and make sure that you are logged in as administrator.

  • Satellite P50T-A - Bluetooth not working in Win 8.1

Since I bought my Toshiba Satellite P50t-A-125 laptop 2 weeks ago I have had problems with the bluetooth. My mouse kept disconnecting and I had to unpair and pair again over and over again to get it to work. The bluetooth device itself in the laptop kept disappearing from the device manager and somehow I managed to get it back again by re-installing the drivers.
However, now whatever I do I cannot get the bluetooth device to appear again in Device Manager. I have searched for new devices but it doesn't find it. There is now an Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) showing under USB controllers. I update the drivers but it says they are up to date.
I have tried searching online and seen lots of people having this issue with Windows 8.1 and all the solutions I've tried don't make a difference. My laptop came with Windows 8.1 pre-installed so I would have thought that Toshiba would have made sure that bluetooth would work under Windows 8.1 before making them available for sale but obviously not.
Any idea on how to add bluetooth back into device manager?

Despite restarting my laptop over and over again yesterday and downloading drivers and updates nothing fixed it. I gave up and found an old USB mouse and ignored the bluetooth problem.
Today, seemingly at random the bluetooth is back in the device manager again even though I did nothing different today than I had already tried yesterday.
Now that it is back I was able to untick the power management settings of allow the computer to turn off this device to save power(as has been suggested online) and so far (fingers crossed) it has remained stable except for once it stopped working briefly.
I still don't understand why it vanished from the device manager in the first place or why it has reappeared without doing anything.
There is clearly something seriously wrong with bluetooth under Windows 8.1

  • Satellite Pro P100 - Synaptics touchpad issue using Win 7

Satellite Pro P100 with Synaptics touch pad, was running Vista, now Win 7 64 bit.
The original driver had an option "disable when external pointing device connected".
I have installed a driver from Synaptics Synaptics_v14_0_3_C_XP64_Vista64_Win7-64_Signed_default.exe which does not have this check box.
It works fine except that sometimes the Microsoft Mouse turns off and on every few seconds as it or the touchpad fight each. I have to disable the touchpad.
Then next time I turn on. If I do so without a mouse, I cannot use the touchpad, until i plug in the mouse, reactivate, then unplug the mouse.
    Thanks

Sorry, but this problem is reccurring more frequently (like every 2 or 3 days). The driver you recommend does not have the "disable touchpad when external mouse connected", nor does the Fn+F9 button work. Both touchpad and mouse are active at the same time with the result that the mouse becomes active, inactive, active, inactive every few seconds, and is that happens the secondary monitor goes blank (which is normal when new drivers are being installed, such as for an unrecognised flash drive). Thanks.

  • Satellite A200-1GB PSAE6 Flashcards issue - serial number is invalid

    Hi all.
I need help and something for my headache... :D
Today I were looking to the updates zone and see a newer version for the Flashcard, so I donwloaded it and install, but now begin the problems...
when the setup starts it says that must uninstall the older version,so ok I accept, then restart and exec the flashcards setup again, but now I get "The serial number is invalid" error. I come here looking for a solution and read that I must reinstall the VAP (I had installed the vap-20080109135106 version).
Before the error windows comes up, a DOS window opens and closes automatically with this line command message : "connected to ROOT\CIMV2 namespace", then the error comes :S
So again I uninstall the VAP, restart, clean with ccleaner, restart, install the VAP again, restart, install the newer Flashcards and....surprise....again the same error.... The serial number is invalid
I tried again all the steps and get the error another time more.
For the third try I just install the VAP and saw that the included flashcards were installed and working....but not so easy.... they don't works when pressing the FN+Fx combination only work if I move the mouse over them...... exactly the only combinations working are the FN+F10 & FN+F11.
The FN key works, because as I told before two combinations works and the green light when pressing it blinks ok.
So now I have a flashcards VAP ones (not the last update) that only works with mouse or touchpad click. If i press FN+something nothing happens (except the F10 F11).
Whats goin here?? I'm really frustated of this happen.
PS: I'm totally sure that the updates version are the right formy notebook model........
I also tried to install olders version of flashcards and VAP that I had on a backup drivers cd and nothing happens, the same situation and erros..... (fcsu-20080307104403 & fcsu-20070809135810)
    Please I need something :D

Try installing the Flash Card Support Utility from the Canadian Toshiba site.

Did some have the same problem?!
Such bad tendancy started since i installed Windows XP insted of standart Vista.
    Laptot : Toshiba Satellite A200-1J0

    Hi
Ohh.You have installed Win XP? Well buddy. In such case you should update the BIOS too!
There is a BIOS designed especially for Win XP and you should update it if you switched to Win XP OS.
Furthermore you should install the Toshiba Power Saver and should change the settings in Toshiba Power Saver Basic Setup.
There you can find the option called Cooling Method. Set it to Max Performance.
Furthermore you can set the CPU processing speed to a lower level and CPU control method to Auto.
At the other hand your notebook can overheat because of the clogged cooling grilles and cooling modules. I know this because my notebooks temperature was high until I removed the dust from the cooling fans.
I used a compressed air spray. You can buy it from different computer dealers or online shops.
    Cheers

    Hi buddy,
Your posting is a little bit confusing I have checked the specifications on Toshiba website of Satellite A200 and some models are equipped with Bluetooth. What Satellite A200 model you have exactly and does it have Bluetooth model?
If yes I would try to reinstall the whole BT software. Uninstall, restart and install it again
Has Bluetooth worked on preinstalled Vista from Toshiba?

Previously the notebook had Bluetooth connectivity to my mobile phone (not that I ever used it),
however (now that I do need it) I can no longer connect, or even find any bluetooth software.
I have searched for a suitable download, but the only one I could find, would not run/start due to an incompatibility ????

First of all it would be really interesting to know if BT is enabled on this notebook.
Can you see a small BT icon in the taskbar?
What happens if you would use the key combination FN + F8?
This key combination toggles between the Wlan and BT and enables/disables the connectivity.
In case you cannot enable the BT or the icon does not appear in the taskbar, visit this Toshiba BT portal https://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/ and download and install the latest Toshiba BT stack for the Win 7
