Satellite A200-1MB - Not burning disks

Model Name: A200-1MB,
Model no: PSAE0E
i have a problem with my DVD drive, its readin but not burning? i dont know whats is the problem????

Hi buddy,
Do you have this problem with CDs, DVDs or both types?
What burning program you are using and what operating system is installed?
In your case I would try different brands of disks like Verbatim or TDK. I made good experience with both brands because they have high quality products with best compatibility.
Have you already tested such high quality mediums?

  • Cannot connect my Satellite A200-1MB to new WLAN router

    Hi All,
Recently i bought the LinkSys Router (Model no: WRT120N) and configured it. But it is not connecting to my TOSHIBA laptop (model no: Satellite A200-1MB) with this new router.
It is a wireless connection. I don't think its something to do with the router because the other laptops can access the signal and they can able to connect to that router.
Can anyone please help me out in fixing this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Razzaq.

    hi rajak.net,
sure all users in this forum are willing to help...
    make sure that:
    - the same encryption method is used
    - the same access key
    - the same channel is used
    - the ssid is visible
if you cant make a connection turn of *all* encryption and test it
sometimes a update of the ap firmware makes it running...

  • Idvd will not burn disks

All of a sudden my work computer and my home computer will not burn disks in IDVD?

Are you getting any messages or warnings when you try?  What systems are you running on each and what version of iDVD?  Is it the same project that you tried to burn on each Mac?  What brand and type of disk are you using?  What burn speed did you try?
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • IDVD will not burn disk

My first problem was the stuck disk from the previous thread.
The instructions worked and the disk came out on start up.
Now the disk will not burn. The door opens on the yellow light , it pulsates for a while then the door closes. Then Nothing.
I burned several DVD recently and it has worked fine. I wanted to make a copy of a home movie I just burned. its the same batch of DVD-R disks.

    David:
I did as you suggested and it solved the problem.
I first downloaded and ran cleansweep, under batch I ran everything.
I am glad to have the program to clean my catch and other routine maintenance stuff.
Then I down loaded the easteregg at Jeff'c Mac Support Web site.
By the way the site has relocated and there is an auto transfer.
But before running the DVD image I tried burning my movie and.............. it worked.
I saved your instruction screen to my documents forlder for future reference.
Again, thanks for your support. Duzzi

  • Satellite A200 does not start anymore.

Hello, im trying to find a whats going on with my laptop. It's a Satellite A200 on Windows 7 professional.
From a few days ago i cant start the laptop anymore. It doesnt look like a software issue because when i push the power button, the only thing that happens is the power led turns on (blue color) and, 2 seconds later, starts to blink orange. And never passes this stage.
The screen remains as off, and i think, the BIOS does not start as well.
Ive already tried to remove the Ram and the hard drive - Keeps doing the same. Doesnt even bleeps over the missing Ram or drive!!!
Anyone have any ideia about whats going on??!! Please anwser!
Sorry for the english. Portugal here ;)

    > Do you kown if this is a comom problem with this laptop model?? Because i have read in a few forums that is a common problem with this laptop
Unfortunately, this is a common problem for many laptop models. My old laptop (non Toshiba one) also had such problem with southbridge malfunction. I just threw it into garbage as replacing mobo is pretty expensive procedure. it's better to buy new one or second-hand

  • Display of Satellite A200 does not switch on after 15 min inactivity!

    Hello!
I have just purchased a Satellite A200 1-AX PSA6 and install Windows XP SP2 + upgrade bios for winxp.
After 15 munutes of unactivirty (not pressing any keys or mouse move) I'm set in Power options in control panel - what Display must power OFF.
After this time display is switches off (black)!
But I'm can't wake up my notebook!
I'm press any key or move mouse, but display is still black!
    But notebook work!
I can ping then by network or connect by remote acceess!
One way to solve this problem:
    Close and open notebook!
A200 - in sleep mode and wake up with swithches ON display....

    Hello
It seems that WXP does not work perfectly on new Vista designed notebooks. Before you live your notebook try to change profile in power settings (long battery life) and test the settings with this profile.
Tomorrow I will try to install WXP on my A200 and I am really interesting if I will notice the same.

  • Re: Satellite A200-1BQ, not responding after screen saver

Hi, I have a Satellite A200, Windows 7 32 bits OS. When running the screen saver the PC stop responding. Have to switch of because no response.
If you have report the some problem please send.

    Hi
Does this mean that Windows 7 hangs and does not response only when the screen saver has been enabled?
Did you notice the same issue using Win XP or Win Vista?
If not then this notebook behavior could be related only to Win 7 and I think it could caused by graphic card driver
Remove the graphic driver which you have installed and test the screen saver using the windows 7 common driver
It would be interesting to know what happens

  • Display of Satellite A200 is not working

    Hi
I own a Satellite A200, since yesterday my display hasnt been working. I can hear vista booting up in the background but theres nothing on the monitor like when the system is switched off.
    plz help me..

    Hi
Did you switch between the different displays devices?
Using the FN+F5 you can switch to the external monitor or TV maybe you have used this key combination accidentally?
So it would be also advisable to connect another external monitor to the notebook to check if anything would be displayed on the monitor
If you will not see anything on the second monitor then a display fault could be possible.
The A200 is not very old notebook series I think the warranty should be valid. Therefore you could contact the ASP in your country for and notebook check.
    Good luck and greetings mate

  • Satellite A200 does not play DVDs won't play

I'm a first time user on this forum so hello to everyone.
My problem is that my (Vista-running) A200 Satellite will not play DVDs. When I try I get the following message: "Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings. Needless to say, I've played around with the relevant settings and there was no change to the situation. In a response posted at a different forum, someone suggested that I ditch Windows Media Player in favour of something better. I thought the alternative program he suggested would be free but it wasn't. Anyway, I've tried playing DVDs with other programs and got the same basic message. So it's not a Windows Media Player thing, it's a playing DVDs thing. Also, it doesn't matter if WMP isn't the BEST DVD player - I just want to play DVDs!! I've written to a Microsoft customer care helper person and they wrote back saying that it wasn't their problem. They consider it a "hardware matter". I don't buy that.
Just some history - I bought the computer second hand from a good friend. Now I can't remember ever playing a DVD on the computer, which slightly confuses things for the following reasons. Just after I bought the computer, which runs Vista, I installed MP3 player software that disagreed with the CD/DVD player drivers. This I think is a fairly common problem. That time Microsoft reps were happy to help me and told me to delete two key lines of the registry. That fixed the problem to some extent because now the drive a) existed again and b) could read and play CDs. But when I tried to play a DVD I got the above-mentioned message.
So like I say, as I don't remember ever even trying to play a DVD on the drive, I don't know whether or not the problems are related to the MP3 software clash problem, although it doesn't seem unlikely that they are related. Finally, the computer was less than a year old when I bought it and in every other respect it has been fine (Vista's intolerable sluggishness notwithstanding). Sadly the extended warranty has now run out so I hope it's not a hardware problem. The point is that since I've never even played a DVD on this thing, and it plays CDs with no problems (furthermore, the drive can READ DVDs, it can tell me all the chapters that are on a DVD and read files off it - it just won't play movies), I don't think it's hardware. I think there's some bug going on.
If anyone could shed any light on this matter, I would be eternally grateful!
    Regards
    Tom

Turns out that my confidence in Windows Media Player was misguided.
I wrote and said as much to the Microsoft rep who advised me to look elsewhere for advice.
I further told him that from now on, if I meet anyone with the same problem I will give them the advice with which I was originally provided - don't use Windows Media Player.
Heeding the rep's advice, I looked around on the website for the company that produced my DVD drive (Mat****a DVD-RAM UJ-850S ATA Device) and in other forums, I forget where I found the advice but this media player:
Videolan Media Player Downloadable for free at:
    http://www.videolan.org/
seems to play DVDs with no problems. I hope someone else might benefit from the information.
    Good luck to all

  • DVD-1285dx dvd/cd drive not burning disks and not reading some.

My HP Pavilion DVD-1285dx is acting strange. It reads some disks both dvd and cd just fine. When I try to burn new disks, the software I use, both trying to burn from windows explorer and also 3-party software, reads the disk and attempts to write to them. I then get an error stating that the disk has had an error so I think the disk is bad and nothing has gotten written to it. When I then try to read what is on that disk nothing is seen or the drive just keeps attempting to read it over and over again.
I have checked device manager and it showed no errors; I looked for updated drivers, none found; I deleted the the drive, rebooted then let it discover again, no change.
I ran Microsoft Fix-it which didn't find or fix the problem. I also installed a set of codecs suggested on a different board. When I found that it didn't correct the problem I uninstalled it.

    Hi Try this!

  • IDVD '04 will not burn disk

I've done a second install of iDVD on my 2nd HD. When I tried to burn a DVD-R disc from imovie, it went through all the motions then gave me this error:
The recording device reported the media error: Power calibration area error (0x73, 0x0.3)
I've gotten the same message after 3 attempts, and the disk says blank when I try to play it from a different deck.
Thanks for any help and advice!
    Gary

I did a search for the error message I was rec'g, and ended up burning a disc image from iDVD, then burning my disk in Disk Utility. I also changed DVD to Verbatim disks.
Thanks to Len Goff for all the previous posts he made regarding this subject. I found his advice to be spot on!
    Thanks-

  • Satellite A200 keyboard not working correctly

I've had my Toshiba since last May and have always had a problem with typing capital M. Each time I do this and it has happened as I typed May, it moves all following letters to anywhere in the preceeding text. As a touch typist I find this particularly annoying as it is often two or three paragraphs before I notice what has happened. It is alos very very inconvenient as I have to type a lot slower than I would normally do.
Has anyone else encountered this specific problem? If so, what were you able to do to resolve it? I have tried using a test version of Windows 7 as well as other types of software so am fairly confident this is not a software problem.

Thanks for reply, as is still under guarantee, have asked Toshiba to sort out - they are due to collect in a couple of days, but nice to have cofirmation of what we believe.

  • Satellite A200 does not start up

    Hi
overall, i was very happy with my A200, now 5 months old.
    But last month, strange behaviour.
    Vista always perfect closed.
Next day, want to start my PC.
_ON-button is doing nothing_, although battery is 100% ok.
-> SOLUTION is to remove battery, insert again and then with ON, the laptop is starting...
    Other issue:
ON-button is starting up the laptop, but _screen remains black_.
-> Same solution, remove battery and start again.
    Is this known? Solution ?
    Thx
    dave

JayJay is right. The BIOS update should helps to sort out this issue!
    Check this Toshiba US page:
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_dtlView.jsp?soid=1991432
I would recommend updating the graphic card driver too.
    How about Vista update?
You should check if the Vista is up-to-date!
