Satellite A200 external display is blurred

We have bought 5x satellite A200. After connecting it to any external display we get nothing but blurred picture.
It's impossible to work on it.
Our other notebooks P200 series work well on presented displays. We really do not know what to do with it. We tried to use Nvidia utility, WIndows utility, upgrading the drivers, switching the display via keyboard but we get the blurred picture in all cases.
We are very satisfied with A200 performance, but the external picture is unusable. Would you recommend us a solution?
Thank you!
Filippi

Hi
Could you please post exactly name of the Satellite A200.
Are these units delivered with an NVIDIA graphic card or with Intel card?
In the nVidia control panel you can change the brightness and the contrast of the display.
Im not 100% sure if you will be able to choose the external monitor but its worth a try.
Go to the control panel -> nVidia -> Display -> Adjust desktop colour settings
The new page should appear where you can adjust your colour settings.
Check if the external monitor appears and choose it. Then you could change the position of the brightness and contrast control.

  • Satellite A200-1AE: How to set external monitor as main display on Win XP

    Model: A200-1AE
    OS: XP SP2
I wish to use the external display in Windows XP. It would be necessary that the external display was the main thing, and desktop expansions occurred on the laptop display. The driver, downloaded from your site do not allow to make it... Though in Windows Vista such possibility is.
How it is possible to solve my problem?

    Hi
As far as I know this is not possible. In my case this option is grayed out!!!
But maybe its possible on your notebook. In such case you should access the graphic card properties. Then go the last tab called Settings.
There you should mark the display 2 and should enable the option called use this device as the primary monitor.
But if this option is not available you will be not able to set this!!!!

  • Display of Satellite A200 is not working

    Hi
I own a Satellite A200, since yesterday my display hasnt been working. I can hear vista booting up in the background but theres nothing on the monitor like when the system is switched off.
    plz help me..

    Hi
Did you switch between the different displays devices?
Using the FN+F5 you can switch to the external monitor or TV maybe you have used this key combination accidentally?
So it would be also advisable to connect another external monitor to the notebook to check if anything would be displayed on the monitor
If you will not see anything on the second monitor then a display fault could be possible.
The A200 is not very old notebook series I think the warranty should be valid. Therefore you could contact the ASP in your country for and notebook check.
    Good luck and greetings mate

  • Satellite L500 - How to show external display after closing lid?

    Hi,
i`m using the Satellite L500-120 Notebook, and before installing Windows 7 the laptop had a very comfortable function, when i applied an external display.
When i closed the lid of my notebook, the desktop was shown on my external display (with the native resolution of the external display), so i didn`t have to
switch anything at the Control Panel. In Windows 7, i`m missing this function. I already tried to use the Control Panel, but there are no settings, which fits
with the earlier ones. I can duplicate the display, in order to see my desktop screen at my external display, but with the notebook resolution of 1366 x 768.
If i extend the displays, then there is only the background image at the external display, but this time with the native resolution.
So my question is, how to conifgure Windows to recognize that i closed the lid, and that the desktop screen has to be shown on my external display?
Or do i have to install one of the Toshiba applications, which i had before, that realized this function?
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi
Im not a Windows 7 user because I will wait until it will be released offical but I hope I can help you a little bit:
First of all in Power Management you can choose the action what happens if you close the Lid (e. g. sleep, turn off, etc.). This action should be disabled because otherwise the notebook will shut down or something else.
Then I think you have to install the display driver for your notebook. You can try the Vista driver because the most of them are work on Windows 7.
Then you should be able to set the correct screen resolution for external monitor.
A working display driver is important for clone or extends monitors so check this!!

  • Satellite L50-B-1P1 - external display is not working

I have just bought a satellite L50-B-1P1. When I tried to connect the RGB (VGA) port to a TV ( as a external monitor), the display screen of the laptop became smaller and the right part of the whole picture was missing, even when the external monitor was not switched on.
The laptop screen has left and right display a black background. The picture is located in the middle. Is this supposed to be normal or something is wrong with this laptop?
    All answers are welcomed

As I understood the message, you have enabled the external display output and could see the picture on the TV.
The question is; what resolution the TV supported and what external output option did you choose?
The point is that you can switch to the external display choosing the option; extended desktop, clone display or you can switch off the internal display and show the picture only on external monitor TV.
In case you have cloned the display, both displays (internal + external) has to use the same resolution! In case the TV would support lower resolution, the internal notebook screen would lower the resolution too!
I would recommend you to read the user manual it provides some basic notebook knowledge

    Hi,
I have a Satellite A300-202 with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650, and after upgrade from vista to windows 7, my external display turned a strange color, seemed to lose the red color. Never show the white color, in which should show the white color shows the color blue.
I have uninstalled and installed again the graphic card drivers and update the new drivers but dont solved this trouble. My external monitor it's ok because I have tried with other laptop and don't have this trouble. I have also tried my laptop with other monitor and have the same trouble.
Anybody ever had this problem, someone who can help me?
    Thanks,

    Hi Xardas,
Yes I have problems only with the external monitor.
I tried both. Now I have the new beta version to the windows 7 64bits, downloaded from the amd/ati site, but I have tried also with the version available in the toshiba drivers page to my A300-202, and had the same problem.
Yes I have installed the new version of the BIOS too.

  • Shaking image on external monitor when Satellite A200 is running on AC

    Hello
I have this problem which is driving me crazy .... I bought an external monitor for my Toshiba Satellite A200-1s9 laptop but the problem with it is that the image, on the external monitor, is shaking. I tried another monitor, the same, another cable, same problem; the only way how to stop it is to unplug the AC from the laptop.
I also tried to move the monitor further from the laptop but nothing.
I can making stop shaking so hard only if I switch to the AC profile from FULL POWER to Save power ... but even with this the image is still shaking a bit.
So basically there is a magnetic field around there, probably in the laptop, which is making my image shaking like crazy ... does anybody know how to stop it?
    tx

    Hi,
    hmmm...
I don't think that this has to do something with magnetic fields.
Cause it is related to the power consumption of the computer, it seems that there is a problem with the AC-Adaptor.
If it has to deliver much 'juice', it's condensators to keep the voltage absolutely stable are perhaps too weak.
Such instabilities ( which have the 50 Hz frequency of the power supply ) can disturb the signal to the monitor.
A solution for that ? ..if you know how to solder some fat condensators somehow in between...
    Or:
    It's a grounding problem
I never heard from such problems with LCD-Monitors (VGA out??). Mostly this is the case when you you use analog video out,
leading to no color on the TV.
Do you have an annoying buzzing when you connect audio out to an amplifier ? That would be a sign for that.
I had such a problem and solved it by plugging my laptop on AC on another circuit in the house than my audio devices
    So experiment with that.
First: disconnect all other stuff ( printer, sticks, antennas, everything ) These are nasty problems with lots of possible interferences.
    Let me know!

  • Gray display using S-video out on Satellite A200-24B

    Hello every one
I have Toshiba Satellite A200-24B , provided with S-Video port,
when i connect to my TV, at always display in Gray scale mode ( No colors )
I tried to use other Cable and other TV, but still with the same problem.
the cable i used is S-video to video (A V).
anyone have an idea for this problem ????
    Thanks

    Hi
There are different reasons why you get only a black/white picture on the TV.
I had the same issue because I used a s-video-to-scart cable and the pin assignment didnt match with the TV port pin assignment.
But the same cable worked in another TV.
A second reason could be the wrong PAL/NTSC setting.
    Please check this!

  • Satellite A200 - Display driver stopped responding

Periodically I see this warning: [http://s001.radikal.ru/i193/1002/2b/ee6a610aa864.jpg]
It appears after short blackout by no reason. What is it?
    Satellite A200-1CR / Windows 7 Professional

    Hi createa,
Have you tried reinstalling the display driver? I also dont know why this happens but theoretically this could solve the problem.
You can download the latest version here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
Before you install the latest version I would recommend removing the old one first. Then restart your notebook and install the newest one.
    Good luck! :)

I have just purchased a Satellite A200 1-AX PSA6 and install Windows XP SP2 + upgrade bios for winxp.
After 15 munutes of unactivirty (not pressing any keys or mouse move) I'm set in Power options in control panel - what Display must power OFF.
After this time display is switches off (black)!
But I'm can't wake up my notebook!
I'm press any key or move mouse, but display is still black!
    But notebook work!
I can ping then by network or connect by remote acceess!
One way to solve this problem:
    Close and open notebook!
A200 - in sleep mode and wake up with swithches ON display....

    Hello
It seems that WXP does not work perfectly on new Vista designed notebooks. Before you live your notebook try to change profile in power settings (long battery life) and test the settings with this profile.
Tomorrow I will try to install WXP on my A200 and I am really interesting if I will notice the same.

  • Re: Satellite A200-1AX - black image display and delay

My Satellite A200-1AX is 3 weeks old and its LCD was replaced by Toshiba Center here in Kuwait because of defects.
After placing the new LCD i have notice that whenever I am turning on and shutting the unit off, a delay of black image is being displayed and slowly disapperaing.
Can you please tell me if this is normal in appearance just like what the technician in Toshiba Service Center is telling me?
is there any problem with the installation of the new LCD?
I find this thing as an abnormal display when booting and shutdown state of the unit.
Hope you give sometime answering me and best regards.

Thank you Jack Black for your immediate response. I really do't know what transpire to that problem and maybe you are correct that it has something to do with the replacement. The image i am noticing wherein the Technician in Toshiba Service Center here in Kuwait saying that it is normal which I contradict is similar to this scenario, let say you blew up air in a glass or window, you will notice some fog on it and suddenly the fog will gone away.
That is how i describe the black image being display momentarily and and it is disapperaing very slowly which is not normal to compare with the laptop
i am using now which is also toshiba and to all the computers which i had used.
I am bothered with this and i suspect it might have some other problems after the replacement.
Again thak you and hope you can still help me to sort out this problem.

  • Satellite A200 - start up freeze and display driver stopping

Hello, I have a few issues with my A200 laptop which is approximatley 3.5 years old.
The most serious problem is that the computor, most recently takes up to 3 attempts to get it to run. or shuts down of it's own accord even when plugged in, this doesn't happen regularly but often enough to be a big pain in the prevurbial, especially when in the middle of an assigment ( yes I frequently back up), the fan appears to be working ok. I'm not sure if there is a driver problem that isn;t showining when I run a diagnostic through toshiba pc diagnostic or device manager or microsoft diagnostic or a direct driver update (which has never been required). my main line of thought is that there is a problem with memory or file extension.
Q1 Can file extension errors cause this problem? how do I solve file extension problems without spending any money- if possible?
When I connect an external display quite often the display driver stops working often reesulting in a complete freeze requiring either the use of task manager or a reset by turning off the computor and rebooting- bad news really.
Q2 how can I remedy this?
I have updated the bios and have all current required updates.
Any pointers, help etc would be greatly apecieated.

    Hey,
To be honest I dont know why you think about file extensions If your notebook shuts down itself it could be an overheating issue. The notebook would shut down to protect the hardware.
Have you ever clean your notebook before? If you have it already for 3.5 years there is a lot of dust in cooling ventilators so use compressed air spray to blow the dust.
Regarding your second question: Have you installed newest display driver from Toshiba driver download page? This is important because the Toshiba display drivers are pretested and designed for this model. So they would work properly and dont cause any problems.
I hope I could help you a little bit ;)

  • Satellite A200 - Display goes off for no reason

I've a Satellite A200-E530D running Windows Vista Home Premium. For the past month, i've had something strange happening to my computer, soon after boot up, the display goes off. for no good reason! the only option i have is to hard boot the system and everythings fine...though a couple of times after restarting it again went off.
I've tried updating to the latest display drivers (I have a Nvidia Geforce 7300 Go graphics with a 128 MB of VRAM)
Another strange thing, Vista SP1 doesn't install on my machine. tried uninstalling my Anti virus, but that hasnt helped either.
Can anybody shed some light on my dark display?

im hoping its not a failing inverter board. hardware support where i come from (India) costs a bomb, and for a laptop, its a hell of a lot more than a bomb.
i dont think its a failing inverter board though...shouldnt the board fail regularly while im using it then? the fact that my display switches off (and dude, it switches OFF completely, no backlight at all. my laptop responds only to a hard boot in the @$$) right after i switch on my computer points to a software malfunction. because, afterwards, my PC works just fine for the the next seven or eight hours that i use it for.
im guessing there something wrong with the way the drivers are loading up...or something.
maybe i should change the power options? i've configured the screen to switch off after a period of 1 min of no activity. and my laptops start up time (from the time i log in, to the time the little windows hourglass sign disappears) can be a little longer than a minute. is it possible that theres something wrong going on there?
like i said, im at my wits' end!

  • Satellite A200-24B (PSAE6) - display hangs when the pictures are zoomed

Dear Sirs, I can't believe that ther is no solution for the product you produce. Like my Toshiba that I bought 14 months ago and trying to fix it. I have a problem with my Display Card "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600" when I view pictures with Windows Photo Gallery and trying to zoom it ... the display screen will hang and go with black and red blocks!
I tried to install all kinds of windows (XP - Vista from basic to ultimate). I tried to download all versions of catalyst from version 6 to 9.7. so what is going on!!!!
Do you know that most of my friends and people hated the brand Toshiba because of this bad reputation in the market ... keep in mind that Toshiba laptops with Nvidia graphic card doesn't have the same problem. please please please help me!
Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.
    Sincerely,

    Dear Lars_3,
First of all I want to thank you for your support. But I've tried all what you said, to the point that I downloaded CCC version 9.8 and still have the same problem, even the latest bios version!!!.
FYI I advised my friend to buy the same laptop "Toshiba A200-24B" because it had the best specifications that days. He is facing the same problem too!!!!! I believe this edition of laptop was very bad. Any way in this case I have to go and fight with the service center in my country that is responsible to repair it. Because I have three years warranty. So I am going to abuse it ;-)
If you can do any further help please tell me. I don't know how to attach a file if possible to show you my system information that may help in finding my problem!
