Satellite A200-PSAE6E: I want to use Windows 7 - What drivers should I use?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200-PSAE6E, and now i want to use Windows 7.
Only i have a question if the drivers are supported, and which BIOS i need to use

As Jeffrey said you should use the BIOS for Vista.
Vista is more similar to Windows 7 as XP so I think this would be the better choice.
First you can try to install the drivers for Vista. Maybe it works and all Vista drivers you can download on the Toshiba website:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
If the drivers dont work you must search on external websites. Maybe there you can find another Vista driver or already a driver for Windows 7 but I believe these drivers are beta versions too.

Problem:
My friend has bought couple of days back to itself TOSHIBA Satellite A200 (PSAE6) where it has been established OS Windows Vista Home. It has asked me to change OS on Windows XP Pro. With the first problem I have consulted - have removed Vista, but to establish XP it is not possible because of absence of the driver of controller HDD in distribution kit OS. Windows Installer cannot find HDD. I read that it is necessary to load this driver during installation, pressing of key F6. But a problem that I cannot find the driver in that.
We do not have disk with drivers which should go complete with a computer and consequently it is necessary to search independently on the Internet. On site Toshiba to find the driver it was not possible. Then I have come on site Intel and download "RAID/AHCI - Intel® Matrix Storage Manager ". Having unpacked I have received archive only "infinst_autol.exe".
Question:
Where I can download such driver (not a format "EXE") which can be used at installation WinXP?
PS: a chipset - Intel PM965 Express

Intel matrix storage manager from Intel download web.
Find your chipset, download and run. It will install in some dir. drivers.
Must remember that you will must made your own XP installation with drivers.

Satellite A200 (PSAE6E) - Unable to recognize WLAN driver

I have a Satellite A200 PSAE6E with Vista.
I just want to install WXp and erase Vista.
When Xp was installed, all is Ok, except that my computer refuse to recognize my Wifi card...
Always the same, after boot sequence, desktop windows appeared, and a message : New material detected...
When I decide to make automatic research and install...............nothing.
When I look in the control panel >>>>> device manager
In rubric " Other Device" appears : Network Controller with a yellow !
And impossible to find a good driver....
In the properties , detail sheet it is written :
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4229&SUBSYS_00008086&REV_57\..... ...
I download all the drivers from toshiba download center (for XP) and i try also to download Intel drivers............... NOTHING....
Please if someone can help me....

Thanks for this information, yes i forgot to update Bios version to the Win Xp version.
Secondly with this string :

I identify my Wifi card like Intel : Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN(supporting 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N)

No, I dont have tried Windows 7 and the Toshiba utilities on Satellite A200.
But why do you ask this? You can test it by yourself and then you can report us your experience.
I dont use Windows 7 at the moment because its not a final version and can cause some problems or maybe not compatible with some software applications.
With Vista and XP Im on the safely side.

FN key display icon does not appear on Satellite A200 (PSAE6E)

I have Satellite A200, I have reinstall Windows but now if I hold the Fn key the icons doesnt show up on desktop, FN keys are working fine.
I just want to see the icon as well I have try to install every Toshiba Utility none worked.

Do you use Windows XP or Vista?
For Vista you must install the Value Added Package.
For XP you must install the Hotkey Utility.

What Windows OS do you use?
If you use Win XP then you need to install Common Modules.
If you are using Win 7 or Vista then you have to installed VAP (value added package) firstly and then Flash Card Support Utility!

I have purchased my laptop model which is Toshiba Satellite A200-1M8 in year 2007.
I want to know first:
If i'm able to upgrade it for free or for money according to Windows Vista to Windows 7 upgrade thing you offer, if yes to which Version of windows 7 it will be upgraded (Home, Professional, etc..)
If not, can I order Toshiba to make a Recovery DVD for Windows 7 specially for my laptop version and if yes, to which version of Windows 7 will toshiba give me?

As you can see a free upgrade is only possible on notebooks purchased from June 26, 2009 to January 31, 2010.
Furthermore your model isnt Windows 7 supported. There is only a limited driver support for a clean Windows 7 installation and so you cant get a Windows 7 disk from Toshiba.
But all these informations are already on the Toshiba page ;)

Satellite A200 PSAE6E: Controller code 28 in device manager after Win7 installation

I have the same problem! I have an A200-PSAE6E with Windows 7. My device manager shows me a perfect SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller under SD host adapters. But it has a certain Mass Storage Controller, under Other Devices, and that one doesn't have a driver installed (code 28). I try to update it, but it doesn't find anything.
Here on Toshiba's website I can't find the drivers for the card reader either. I think it's Card Reader Controller (there is a Flash Card Support Utility, but I'm almost certain it's the other one)
There is a Card Reader Controller driver for Windows Vista 64, but my Windows 7 is 32. Do you think I should try that anyway? Do you think perhaps Toshiba won't even release a driver for that?

If you would click on More Info which is on the right of the driver page, then you could find all details about the drivers.
The Flash Card Support Utility is not driver but utility (the name said everything) and this utility controls the FN buttons.
Visit the Toshiba European driver page and choose your notebook model.
Then try the Vista 32bit driver called Flash Media Driver (dont mix it with Flash Card Support Utility). The Flash Media Driver v 2.0.0.6 is for your Bridge Media Slot. This slot lets you insert either a SD card, Memory Stick (Pro) or xD picture card.

In your case I recommended reading the user manual of your notebook. There you can check if your notebook is equipped with a WLAN card and if yes how to use it. If yes you can enable it with the hardware switch on the notebook and FN+F8.
If you dont have a WLAN card in your notebook you can use an USB stick with WLAN function. In most cases you can also get a WLAN USB stick from the same manufacture of the router. I would recommend this because so will not have any compatibility issues.
After this you must enable and configure the WLAN function of your router. This should be described in the user manual of the router.
You must set the SSID, channel, WLAN standard, encryption, and password.
Then search on the notebook for the WLAN router, enter the password and now you can use WLAN!

My Satellite A200 doesn't want to play almost all multimedia files

So, I have a problem with my Satellite A200. 2 weeks ago I bought it and since then i can't play any of my multimedia files.
It plays only music files, and that's all. I have downloaded many codec's packs such as: ACEMCP603PRO, VistaCodecs_v453, K-Lite Codec Pack full etc.
But nothing works!!!
I'm desperate PLEASE, help me some one

Regarding your issue;
To play the .vob files you need an dvd player software like WinDVD or PowerDVD.
Furthermore I would recommend installing the MPEG2 codec.

I have checked the Toshiba website but unfortunately it seems that there are no Windows 7 32bit drivers, only for 64bit Windows 7.
But have you tried the Vista 32bit drivers? Normally the most of them should work.

I have an iMac g5 it's about 9 years old, I want to buy adobe photoshop what version should I buy that will run well on a computer this old?

You can get a CD from every computer shop. Just buy a copy and version that you want and thats all. Insert the CD and then you can upgrade your notebook.

You need to download the VAP (value added package) and Flash Card Support Utility.
Both tools are needed to get the FN buttons working in Win 7!
Ive got A210. Its a similar notebook series and Ive chosen the drivers which are released for Satellite L500 series.
Both tools worked for my A210
