Satellite A350-20Q - Illumination media keys have gone dark

I bought a Satellite a350-20Q laptop about two weeks ago and the media keys above the keyboard have seemed to have gone darker than when i first had it.
I have checked using the HWSetup and it says they are definitely illuminated.
Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks for the help but i think it is a different problem than the lighting being enabled or disabled, if i gently press down on the keys then they become brighter so I am guessing that either the lighting has physically fallen down or that the buttons themselves have physically moved upwards for some reason.

Have you checked to see if the pictures are located in your Documents folder by navigating to then on your computer system?
What version of Desktop Software did you update to? Select the [?] is the top right corner and then select 'About BlackBerry Desktop Software'. Version 7.1.0.? or 7.0.0.? or 6.1.0.?

Illumination Media Keys stopped working

My illumination soft touch media keys are not working. I try to reinstall the Value Added Package but still the media keys are not working.

Marlon I don't believe it is hardware problem. To be honest best way to fix this and test the functionality is to install OS again using Toshiba recovery image. After doing this you will have factory settings and clean preinstalled Vista and everything should work properly again.
You can start installation from HDD using F8 at start-up. All data saved on second partition will be there and you will not lose them.

How To Order New AC Power Supply for Satellite A350-20Q?

I bought my Satelite A350-20Q 2 1/2 yeras ago, and when I turned on my laptop the screen was dim, the power supply was already plugged in but it did not make any change. How can order a replacement?

According notebook specification AC power supply for your notebook has part number PA3290E-3AC3. I dont know where do you live but Googling around and using this part number as search term you will, I hope, find enough online stores where you can order new AC adapter.
You can also contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask them to order it for you.

Satellite A350-20Q - WEBCAM FAILED or is DISABLED

Can anyone help me to get my webcam back?
Went on one of those geek websites which tells you how to make your computer run faster, by disabling things youre not using. Cant remember what I've done but webcam doesnt work anymore. Tried reinstalling Drivers and rebooting Camera Assist Software but the same message comes up every time - "WEBCAM FAILED or is DISABLED".
Would appreciate any help or advice before I have to pay the local computer shop to sort it out.

Somehow the operating system cannot detect the cam.
What you can try is to test it with factory settings. If the same will happen again I presume it is hardware related issue. Webcam can be defective or it is not connected properly to the mainboard.

Phone screens have gone dark

I have BT Synergy 6500 multipack (4 phones). They worked OK for the first couple of weeks and then the screen of one phone went dark, so that I couldn't read it. Then a second phone went dark and so I now have two phones that, although they can make and receive calls, I can't use the various menus because I can't see the screen, so can't see the numbers of incoming calls etc. The other two phones are working perfectly. All the phones were fully charged for 24 hours before using, as per the instructions.
Has anybody any idea as to whether anything can be done about this, or whether I'll have to send them back for replacement?

Thanks for posting. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Chack out page 24 of the user manual which will give you information on the screen lighting. If that doesn't resolve it then they may well be faulty so you'll need to take them back to the point of purchase.

Media keys no longer work

Description
My media keys used to work to play, pause, skip forward/backward, etc. in Spotify, and other applications when Spotify is running. Suddenly, my media keys have no effect.
A more detailed description, using numbered steps
1. Open Spotify
2. Start playing music
3. Click my "Play/Pause" media key
What I expected to happen
Music pauses, and resumes upon another click
What actually happened
Nothing

Windows 7 (64 bit) AND Windows 8.1 (64 bit)

I don't have google music neither, my problem started after the first time running Windows Media Player in Windows 8.1, and after that every time I press the media keys it opens WMP.
I already desactivated WMP from the control panel but it doesn't work the media keys for now...
Also I saw a video that in Win 7 they go to msconfig and unselect the service from there but I don't find it in Win 8.1
Any other guess???

Satellite A350-214 media keys not working

After upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 the feather touch media keys are not working.The bluetooth perpheral device drivers are also missing.Pl help...

Try downloading the Windows 7 drivers. You can get them from here:

The buttons are controlled by Toshiba Value added software. There is a bluetooth stack you may need to install. You may want to add the rest of the windows 7 drivers. The display and sound drivers will give you additional HDMI support that the native driver does not support.

Satellite A350-13D - Brightness slider suddenly gone

Hi,
I've got a toshiba satellite a350-13d, with windows 7, installed it long ago, worked perfectly apart from FN keys functioning. However that was not my problem, as I could change screen brightness with the slider provided by windows...
But... All of a sudden, my brightness slider is gone. I didn't install any new drivers, windows stopped showing me the opportunity to change the screen brightness (clicking on that battery status icon in the traybar it used to say "change screen brightness", and if i click on "more options" it's gone too). Does anyone have a fix for this?
I previously installed all drivers from the toshiba website, so that should not be the problem.

Strange possibly its registry issue or something like that
Can you change the display brightness here:
Control Panel -> All control panel items -> Display -> Adjust brightness (on the left)
Otherwise you could try to get the FN buttons working.
For that you need the Win 7 VAP (value added package) and Toshiba Flash Card utility for Win 7.

Satellite A350-13a - function keys isn't working

I have Satellite A350-13A. I installed Windows 7 from 2 weeks.
The function keys isn't working although I installed the Toshiba value added package which is responsible for activating function keys.
What the solution for this problem?

I agree with the users above. Value Added Package installation is not enough, because you need Flash Cards Support Utility as well.

TS3048 I am usng a bluetooth keyboard with my Mac and some of the keys are not working. They are the numbers 1 through 9. I have gone through the troubleshooting for mouse and keyboard and everything looks good. How can I get them to work again?

The webpage guides me through and at this point I do not know what to do next, because the keyboard is still not working properly. I wish my suggestion had gotten you further.
I do suggest you try to connect the keyboard again. The request for a number is a step in it trying to pair. If it gets by the number, it sometimes takes a little while to get connected. If you are unable to get it connected and want a new one, I have been using Apple Bluetooth keyboards for years - and I like them. The one I have (the newest model) only uses two batteries and is very thin.
Speaking of batteries, if you are not already doing so, you might consider rechargeables. I have a drawer full of them and use a 15 minute charger. I go tired of buying batteries and rechargeables are environmentally friendly to boot. At the moment, I use 2450 mAh Energizers and a 15 minute Energizer charger (all purchased new on eBay at a very reasonable price).
I am far from an iPad "expert," although I have one. If my suggestion below does not help, post your question in a separate thread in the iPad forum.
I had a terrible time syncing my iCal on my Mac with my iPad iCal (confusing - hopefully it makes sense). I quit using iCloud as that added to the confusion. There is a facility to one-time sync items. When you connect your computer to your iPad, iTunes opens. The system begins a process (automatic backup and so on). After it finishes, you can click on "info." At the bottom of the screen, there is an advanced section. You can select any of the items and then force it to sync. The iCal information from your computer would be deposited on the iPad.
After all that, I do not use a Google calendar so the information may be worthless to you.
If you want to reset the iPad to factory settings, you can do that when it is connected to iTunes (one of the options). Me being me, I try never to erase anything.

I have a few issues E8 my media files (music)free ones have gone?

Basically my music or Audio files have gone? and when I click on one it's asking me for the file location...this has happened after down loading the media pack thing..about 3.6Gb I can see it in my Adobe file (programmers) but Shiite frightened to open it and can not find how to join it to my PRE..also have the a problem with the card reader...it works for a while then goes walk about...also for no reason PRE crashes...I had E6 and loved it...

Media Keys

When I installed Windows 7 RC for the first time the media keys worked.
When I rebooted, they no longer work.
How do I solve this?

Thank you guys for your help. However i have done both power down function and reinstalled the value added package. The media keys i'm talking about are on the left side of the keyboard under the power button. There is the Eco, Mute, movie, play/pause, reverse fast forward and fast forward and volume up and down. The power button lights up, the caps button lights up, the satellite word lights up on bottom left and above the touchpad and below the spacebar that lights up. I just can't use those keys. They use to work and I thought I had to do some checking in a box but I've gone throught the toshipa HS setup and my Bios is V3.10 11/30/09. I'm running windows 7 service pack 1 64 bit.
This has happend to me before when I had to do a sytem restore but I can't find or remember how to get them to work again. Also people have said use the function key and held down but I can't find anything that talkes about making those buttons work and light up.

Satellite A350 - wireless is not working

Hi, I have a Satellite A350 running Vista 64
I'm having problem with my wireless not working and light (next to switch) not turning on, even though the switch is on. I have had this happen quite a few times and easily fixed it with FN+F8. Although, now FN+F8 does not exist, e.g. when holding down the FN key, there is no F8 (wireless) option available. I have updated to the latest drivers of both the Realtek network adapter and BIOS. Neither have fixed the problem.
I consulted the Toshiba Manual and discovered, "If no wireless communication device is installed, no dialog box (FN+F8) will appear." When I looked at the Device Manager, the network adapter (Realtek) was working properly.
I have also tried numerous system restores in an attempt to undo any update which may have caused the problem.
What else can I do?

"My wife has a Satellite L305-S5968 which she bought last month. The wireless had been working fine until she returned from a vacation (where she used the wireless at her brothers home). Once home, it quit working. Coincidently, we started getting a USB Device Not Recognized message. I looked in Device Managers and did not find any wireless adapters under the Network Adapters. There is a Realtek Ethernet adapter listed. So I tried a Ethernet cord and got connectivity immediately. What can I do?
My wife called Toshiba support. Here it turns that when the goes to sleep or the battery gets overcharged, it causes the hardware to malfunction. She had to take out the battery, pull the power cord and hold down the power button to discharge any remaining power in memory. She reconnected the power cord, powered up, uses F2 to go to setup utility and did a restore of all original hardware settings (with F9). Everything worked (we were not aware at the time but the printer and corded mouse were not working either). We are back in business. Maybe this will help someone else."
I saw these too late, my laptop had already gone back to Currys. I've just been called to say I can pick it up, this has been fixed!

Laughing sound, media keys funny, and black select boxes

I've only had my macbook for 2 weeks and its gone weird today. It starts with a black select box around icons, popup windows, and the task bar. Then i try to listen to the new mac holiday add when i hear weird laughing. Then the laughing starts when i click on something, anything. I try to turn down the volume with the media key (F12) then dashboard comes in. The contrast keys dont work, and F11 makes firefox browser move to the top right of the screen out of view.

Thank you for your help. I have done some more problem solving and I found something strange in the activity monitor. So i 'quit the process' and shut down. Its all fixed now.
