Satellite A60-173 Trouble when install new bios
I have a A60-173 notebook and it doesnt run well. I tried to upgrade my bios to the latest version( which i downloaded from Toshiba's home site). But it took too long to write a new bios(about 1 hour), then i thought the program is not responding and i did a silly thing that i turned the power off.Now, my notebook 's dead, no light, no thing happends when i turn it on. What should i do? I wonder if PCservice(from the store i bought my laptop) can help me to fix it.

Sometimes, I just cant do things like copy or moving files, even they are not in use.My Graphic driver couldnt run properly, sometimes, it stopped working and appeared a message on the screen that the graphic driver has stopped working normally. I tried to uninstall the driver then reinstall it, but no use.
I got in Toshiba.co.uk to search for solution and they recommmended me to update my bios..then i downloaded bios version 1.9 and run it...then my computer could never start again
I sent my notebook to Pcservicecall( a service of PC world store to fix their products) to get repaired.My friend told me that its no use, cuz my laptop's bios has been damaged and no one can fix it...im so worried cuz i just have it for 4 months, i dont wanna pay for another laptop

I am the owner of a MSI motherboard P67A-GD55 (Rev B3).
The operating system Windows 7 Pro 64 bit is installed on a disk in AHCI OCZ Vertex 3120 Go SATA0 mounted on the port (version 3).
I get many bugs and blue screens.
This would be resolved with the latest driver Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.6.0.1022.
It must been associated with a bios with the Intel RAID Option ROM 10.6.0.1091.
The latest bios for my motherboard is 1.E (or 1.14) version which includes Intel RAID Option ROM 10.5.0.1034.
Are there plans to release a new bios with the new ROM?
If not, is there a way to include the last Intel Option Rom in the bios 1.E?

Got the following error when installing new version.

Also Tried to uninstall after this so I could install from scratch but that failed too. Now, iTunes is in a complete mess where I cannot use, uninstall or install.

I have trouble when installing Oxford advanced learner's dictionary
I'm experiencing some troubles when installing the Oxford advanced learner's dictionary in OS X Maverick . It does not run the dictionary. I tried several times, but it shouts down itself.
That's because it's not compatible with Mavericks.

Prompting of Administrator Password When Installing New Software.
I recently installed some software onto my Mac but I was not prompted to enter my administrator username and password as is usually the case (or so I thought).
Does anybody have any ideas as to why an administrator password is not always required when installing new software? The reason I ask is that I thought that this was one of the protections offered by the Mac to prevent unknown installations of Malware etc.
Thanks.No password will ever be requested when you simply use drag and drop to install an application in the Applications folder. This is because you are a member of the admin group, and the admin group has authorized access to the Applications folder.
Nothing should install without your knowledge. If you are concerned about viruses and the like, then that's a different matter altogether from the question you asked. See this:

In our code, we do not close the connection to the data base when we have finished using it.
Before we install SP6, although there is no connection.close() in the code, when GC executes the connection automatically closes and it's returned to the connection pool.
Now that we've installed SP6, the connection remains open and, after executing several times, the connectionPool crashes
Is there a temporary patch for SP6 to prevent this situation

hi there !a couple of days ago my brave asus geforce 4 ti card crashed and i installed an ati excalibur 9550 se as backup. almost everything works fine, only winamp seems to make trouble: whenever i playback some music, it has lapses with buzzing sound (sorry, not a natural speaker so i don't know any fitting words). in the past i got the same effect when i was hearing music while starting to burn an cd/dvd but now it allways happens... anyone an idea what causes this error and how to fix it

I've tried many things (playing with Codecs, updating drivers, even returning the card back to the store thinking the problem was hardware). The second card did the samething. I also tried to change the card from its PCI slots (I've tried them all) but it's still creates weird noises when playing MP3s and MPEGs, whatever the slot. Hopefully, I have a sound card integrated to the motherboard, so I use this one instead, but it's not as powerful. When using the SB card, I make sure to deactivate the motherboard's sound card in the BIOS to avoid conflicts. Could anyone help ? I've had this card for a couple of years now and have never been able to use it.

Administrator error message when installing new software
Hi~
I am working with an ibook on OS X.2.8. I gave this computer to my dad when I got a new one and set up an account for each of us, both with administrator priviledges. I just tried to install new software and it keeps telling me that I don't have permission to install software on the default location of macintsoh HD and to check with the administrator... even though I am the administrator. It didn't offer me an opportunity to enter a password or to install the software in an alternate location. I tried installing a different program to see if it was a problem specific to this application and found the same difficulty. I tried both accounts and this happened in both. Then I tried setting up a new account as an administrator and this didn't work either. Then I delelted all accounts except for my dad's account. I've checked the permissions in system prferences mutliple times. Nothing works. Any ideas? I would appreciate any help as this is very frustrating and this computer will soon be useless if we are unable to install updates or new software.

I've checked the permissions in system prferences mutliple times.
You nreed to repair them in Disk Utility, then reboot, but I'd make second admin account again for safety.

"Extraction Failed: Cannot Open Output File" error message when installing new drivers
Hello, I'm trying to install new drivers for my HP Photosmart C4385 Printer. I downloaded the full feature drivers for Windows XP 32-bit, and when I start to install (extract), I get the error message:
Extraction Failed
Cannot Open Output File
And the process closes. It happens at about 85% extraction every time.
Any idea why? I called HP but since it is out of warranty they wanted money, which I think as absolutely ridiculous - won't even give me basic support?? Poor, poor customer service.

If you haven't still got the Full Feature software installer, download it from the link below and save it to your Desktop. If you already have it, place it on your Desktop.

Make sure the Printer is disconnected from your PC.
Download and install 7-ZIP. Once installed, right click on the software installer for your printer, select 7-Zip and choose extract files, then click Ok.
Open the newly extracted folder and double click the setup application to start the installation ( the setup application will probably have the same icon as the original software installer you downloaded ). Connect the printer to your PC when the software asks.

When following the activity using Procmon I don't see any error for the HKLM key said in the log.
Usually when installing again Project, it works and corrects all ProPlus..
But this is very annoying as I would like to deploy ProPlus and Project independently using a deployment tool like SCCM.
In this case, I was testing a machine where ProPlus was installed in an older version, never updated for any reason, and then my tool trying to install Project but in the newer version....

After installing Project again, what's the version number of your Office 365 ProPlus? Also, try to repair existing Office 365 ProPlus and then install Project again, see if issue persists.
What if you update your Office 365 ProPlus to the same version as your Project build first, then deploy Project upon it?
Trying to figure out if the issue was caused due to the version mismatch.

HT1926 When Installing new version error is quicktime cannot uninstall old version
When trying to install new version of Quicktime, I get a error message that quicktime cannot uninstall old version. This also affects Itunes to work. Get Message Itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. I think not having quicktime working affects my Itunes from launching.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATION" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up").
In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC. Now try another QuickTime install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Problem when installing new themes in my NOKIA N73
I instal new themes in the memory card of my N73, after time i formated the memory card without (sans in french) deinstaling the thems from the phone, .. they dont appears in my liste of theme.. when i want to reinstal them, the installation dont finished and i have a error message "INSTALATION IMPOSSIBLE!" and in MENU->TOOLS->APPLICATION MANAGER in the journal the themes appears that they are installed, so help me please. () i know that my english is very poor but ......
Here we go again, using the search will have helped but here is how to re-install themes that have already been installed and deleted and can't be installed again or themes that are not showing after being installed.
THIS ONLY WORKS IF INSTALLING ON THE MEMORY CARD
A ) Download Unsis for 3rd Edition HERE

B ) You'll need the usb cable for connecting phone to pc
1. Install unsis to your PC and open it
2. choose "Open SIS" on bottom left
3. choose the theme you want to reinstall
4. click on "Extract"
5. after a few seconds (sometimes more ) it'll be "Completed"
6. you can now close the program
7. go into the PC installation folder (usually C:/Unsis)
8. there should be a folder called "Temp"
9. inside you should find "private"-> "10207114"-> "import"-> "some folders (just one ifyou extracted just one theme) with different names (numbers and letters in most cases)"
10. go inside the folders and search for the one of the theme you are interested in, there'll be 4 files:
a ) NameOfTheFolder.ini
b ) NameOfTheTheme.mbm
c ) NameOfTheTheme.mif
d ) NameOfTheTheme.skn
11. ok? now, leave this folder open and connect phone to pc using the usb cable
12. choose "Mass storage" option. Note: you can also insert memory card into a memory card reader
13. in your phone, find the folder called "private" . If you don't see it, you need to choose the visualization of hidden files and folders
14. in the "private" folder, find "10207114" folder and then "import" folder
15. in "import" there are your themes, here you should find the themes you installed into the memory card
16. don't close this folder but come back to the folder where you extracted the theme with unsis
17. just click "back" so you can see your folder selected into the "import" folder
18. choose all the folder and select "copy"
19. go back to the "import" folder in the phone's memory card
20. right click and "paste" into the "import" folder
21. here we are, now your theme is again in the memory card

I dont know what you mean with extract the BIOS but BIOS reset can only be done from an ASP. The ASP is able to reflash the ROM module if its possible and reset the BIOS.
I think the best way is you contact an ASP. They can help you because here its only a user to user forum.
