Satellite A665-14F - Not responding

I bought the new Toshiba Satellite A665-14F. Processor i7 RAM 4GB Harddrive 640GB
My problem is that my laptop is not responding when starting up, anything I open will not respond. Even thoght my freind have an Accer i5 6GB Ram and 750GB. He's laptop is starting up faster than my laptop and he is not getting non-respond if he start up he's laptop.
What I have done only the Windows update befor this problem happen then the problem start. I visit Toshiba company in kuwait and they said its a software error and I take it again (it seem fine ) by now, but when I reinstall Windows updates the non-respond problem is back. Not that: I install all important and non important Updates.
hope anyone could help

> Now i got it i can download any Driver updates For Any PSAW3E Right ?
Right!
> Second i want to kno why i cant find Satellite with 14F With the model number PSAW3E-0N400WAR? because i found PSAW3E on 3 countries..
PSAW3E-0N400WAR number belongs to Satellite A665-14F. This model is released in Arabian region.
> Germany is one of them ,so should i download it from there and its will be the same ? because in Germany i Found 14F(PSAW3E-0NH00JGR) and mine is (PSAW3E-0N400WAR)
PSAW3E-0NH00JGR is also to Satellite A665-14F but this was released for German market.
> Second about the updates how should i install them ? they are Zip so should i Extract them and open the extracted file ?
You have to unzip the packages firstly and there should be a exe file which can be executed.

  • Satellite Pro - Win7 - Not Responding Msg

    Hi
Pro has 2G memory 40GB storage
I am having endless probelms with the Win7 'Not Responding' message in various applications. Laptop gets slower and refuses to open programs after about 3 hours. Have to reboot, also after some not responding messages I have to reboot.
Sometimes with the not responding problem in Outlook Express it deletes the emails. Not nice.
Everywhere on the web people are having similiar problems. Purchased Pro new and ok for a few months and then the prblems started.
Have Toshiba go an anser to it ?
    Thanks
    Charlie

    Hello Charlie
Can you please tell us which Satellite Pro notebook do you have.
As you can see on the top of the page this forum is user-to-user forum so here you can discuss with other people who own Toshiba notebooks and want to share own experiences and opinions. Here you will not find some official statement.
Back to your issue: you are right, many people have similar problem and many other different problems, especially issues when notebook is slow. My opinion is that in most cases people have not powerful enough notebooks, they dont have optimized operating system, and in general there are many different things that make notebook slow.
I dont know how do you use your notebook, do you still use original OS that you got with your notebook and which settings do you use and it is not easy to say what is wrong there. Your notebook with 2GB RAM is not the fastest one so I would like to know have you tried to optimize os.
Have you disabled some applications in start-up?
Which antivirus application do you use?
Are windows updates set to Automatic?
Many background activities can slow down your notebook or be responsible for some conflicts.

  • Re: Satellite A200-1BQ, not responding after screen saver

Hi, I have a Satellite A200, Windows 7 32 bits OS. When running the screen saver the PC stop responding. Have to switch of because no response.
If you have report the some problem please send.

    Hi
Does this mean that Windows 7 hangs and does not response only when the screen saver has been enabled?
Did you notice the same issue using Win XP or Win Vista?
If not then this notebook behavior could be related only to Win 7 and I think it could caused by graphic card driver
Remove the graphic driver which you have installed and test the screen saver using the windows 7 common driver
It would be interesting to know what happens

  • Satellite A660 - program not responding for a mili-second

    Hi,
Sometimes the program I am using flashes into a non-resonsive mode.
For a milli-second or so the program stops and the desktop image appears then disappears again.
Sometimes it happens only once but in some programs it happens continually and they become impossible to use.
    I have a A660 running Windows 7, 32bit with an intel i7.
I have loaded all the latest upgrades for the graphics card and drivers.
Has anyone else had this problem?
    Thanks

    Hi mate
    This is ok.
You will always notice an delay while loading some software or applications.
This happens because software is loading in RAM.
It depends also on processes which are running in the background.
The background processes can stress the CPU and this can affect the app execution or can lead to some short delays
To improve this, i recommend cleanning the OS using CCleaner and to disable some porocesses which are not really important for you.
You can do this is msconfig

  • I have a Windows Vista desktop and an old XP laptop, both run Firefox perfectly. However, my Toshiba Satellite T135 laptop will not run ANY version of Firefox--constant "not responding" messages. Chrome and IE9 work perfectly. Help!!

To mostly repeat my question, I am a longtime Firefox user on both an XP laptop and a Vista desktop. So here I get the most "capable" computer of all, a Toshiba Satellite T135 laptop, 64-bit Windows 7, 4G RAM...and it won't run Firefox at all! I have installed an uninstalled both Firefox 3, and just now, Firefox 4. No changes. When I open the software, it usually just locks up for a minute or so, and I finally get a "not responding" message at the top of the screen.
Obviously there is something corrupt in the guts of my laptop. But both IE9 and Chrome work very well--Chrome is blazing fast. I still prefer Firefox because it works best with some particular software I use for work...but I have to go to one of my older computers to do it!
ANY solutions out there? This seems like a very odd problem.
Posting from the Firefox website...using Google Chrome!

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

I have had this laptop for more than 4 years now and recently I have had issues with it freezing up and not responding within approximately 5-10 min of booting up. • Satellite A200-TH7 - Windows Explorer is not responding

On random occasions (normally when I wake up the PC), and I click the volume control in the taskbar, nothing will pop up.
Then I'll go to move the physical volume control slider and nothing will happen.
However, at that point, I'll try to click anywhere on the taskbar, but it freezes and it says "Windows Explorer is not responding" and I have to restart the program. Once doing this, the volume control does not even appear on the taskbar. And if I slide the physical volume slider, Explorer freezes once more.
I have Vista and its an Satellite A200-TH7.
I have the volume on mute so I literally can't listen to anything now.
If I restart the comp it'll work, but this problem occurs frequently.

    Hi
Thats strange and I never heard about such an issue.
Does the Explorer freezes in other ways too?
Anyway, you should make sure that you have installed all Windows Updates and Service Packs.
Furthermore update the AntiVirus software and search for Viruses.
And follow the instructions posted by Jimi.
Thats all I can say at the moment.

  • Toshiba flashcards does not respond on Satellite A200

    Hi.
When I turn on my laptop (Satellite A200) often, but not absolutely everytime, I get a bar across the top of the screen which reads 'Toshiba Flashcards (not responding'.
Sometimes this can be removed by clicking the red cross in the corner of the bar and after a few moments it does disappear, but other times it stays there and there appears to be no way of getting rid of it.
Can anyone help me with this problem?
You can probably tell from this that I am not a computer expert and simple language would be most appreciated!!

    Try this:
Update the BIOS, which can be downloaded from the Toshiba website
Uninstall the Toshiba Value Added Package
Download and install the latest Toshiba Value Added Package from the Toshiba website

  • Satellite A665-14G - FN key not working

    Hi,
I recently bought a Satellite A665-14G, everything was working fine.
Then suddenly the next day of the purchase date, the keyboard was not illuminated.
So I pressed the FN + Z keys combination, and nothing happened.
I tried to press other FN key combinations and none worked.
So i'm assuming that the FN key is no longer working.
What could have caused this and how can I restore its functionality?

    Hi
Do other FN + F buttons work correctly?
For example FN + F6, FN + F7 and so on.?
If yes then the FN buttons are OK and I think only the illumination has been disabled.
Usually in BIOS you can enable and disable the illumination.
    Check this!
But if other FN buttons dont work, then you should reinstall the VAP (value added package) and Flash Card Support Utility.
Both tools can be downloaded from Toshiba driver page.

  • Satellite A665-S6050 Windows 7 Home Premium Memory Upgrade will not boot

Hope there might be a clue to assist.
Checked Toshiba support for recommended memory to upgrade from 2X2GB to 2X4GB.  Ordered Kingston KTT-S3BS/4G x 2 as recommended.  BIOS recognizes the memory, but Windows will not boot.  Tried Safe Mode and hangs after a few seconds.  Tried Repair Computer, also hangs after a few seconds.  Put original memory back in and it boots fine.  There was a brief flash of a blue screen once, but no dump file to be found.
To me it seems as ifthe issue is Windows, but I do not know enough about this to say definitively.  Just based on the percieved behavior when Windows trys to boot (hanging).
Any ideas appreciated before I go through return and try something else.
    Thanks.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

he ordered from Toshiba and there memory did not work  ...    the kit he ordered was the one recommended for his laptop from Toshiba and ordered from Toshiba
Yes he did. But he ordered the Kingston memory that Toshiba recommended as he said...
Checked Toshiba support for recommended memory to upgrade from 2X2GB to 2X4GB.  Ordered Kingston KTT-S3BS/4G x 2 as recommended.   ...   I tried both of the Kingston modules recommended and neither worked.
I'm suggesting that he try the Toshiba part number (PA3677U-1M4G) suggested in the spec, which is made by Axiom.

  • Satellite A65 freezes and does not respond after adding of RAM

    Gents,
My laptop Satellite A-65 has been upgrade from 512 MB RAM to 1024 RAM. It recognized additional memory without any problem (as it should be according to manual).
But unfortunately after 1 day it begun suddenly stops, pictures on screen freezes, laptop does not respond at all - only reset (pushing and holding power button) can help. some times laptop is able to work 2 or 3 hours, but then again stops.
Memory place cover is rather hot, fan very often work uninterruptibly. so i can't decide whether problem is in new memory card or not enough cooling or might be in changing of BIOS version (or BIOS setttings) and might be memory becomes full and does not clear itself properly (last remark was found on some forumes).
Experts, help to find exact reason especcially if u had similar problem.

    Hi
Im not expert but I would recommend removing the new memory module and let run the notebook only with the standard memory module.
If the notebook will not hang and will not freeze then its a very clear case for me.
Either the second module is not compatible or faulty.
In my opinion you should use branded modules like Kingston for example. The quality is much better as a no-name module.
Additional use the modules recommend by Toshiba

  • Satellite A300-129 - Sound is muted and icon does not respond

    Dear all,
I am trying to switch on the sound of my Satellite A300-129 after I had muted it a couple of days ago, but the icon does not respond.
When I click on the right mouse button, I can go to sounds etc., but "Open volume mixer" does not respond either. I have also tried to restart the laptop a couple of times, but that did not help.
What can I do? Your help will be much appreciated.
    Heleen

    >How do I do that safely without risking losing sound forever?
LOL You will not lose anything for ever. :D in worst case you will have to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba recovery disk.
Access the device manager -> mark the sound card -> use delete button -> reboot the notebook
After new reboot the sound driver should reinstall again and should detect the sound card.

  • Satellite A200: Bluethooth Stack & Flashcard does not respond

My new A200 gives me a headache. After receiving the following message: Thank you for evaluating the Bluetooth Stack for Windowsby Toshiba. The evaluation period has expired. Please obtain a license for this version of Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" I downloaded the Bluetooth stack Multilingual from Toshiba's homepage. It does not work, I receive still the same message and cannot use bluetooth anymore.
The second message I receive always is "that the Toshiba Flashcard does not respond" then Vista is looking for a solution but does not find anything.
The third problem is to include a second monitor. One time only it worked fine, but never again. I cannot control the second monitor via the Notebook, sometimes I cannot extend it, sometimes I can but the second monitor works in slow motion. I use a Targus docking station.
    thanks

    Hi
This message is meant for developers of third-party Bluetooth adapters, but may appear if you are using such an adapter with the Toshiba Bluetooth software 'stack' -- rather than with the adapter manufacturer's stack. The third-party Bluetooth adapter may work with the Toshiba Bluetooth stack, but only for a 30 day evaluation period.
If you are using an 3rd party Bluetooth adapter, obtain and install the correct Bluetooth stack from the manufacturer of the Bluetooth adapter.
If your notebook was already equipped with the BT card then you dont need to obtain the BT stack version from any other 3rd party manufacturers.
You should be able to download it from the Toshiba page, from your Satellite A200 download area.
I have also received some issues with the Vista Flash cards.
Seems there was a bug in old version. But dont worry; the new version was already released on the Toshiba page!
However, it looks like you have messed the whole OS because the switching to external monitor does not work too. So maybe you should recover the notebook with the Toshiba recovery CD and then update the Vista FlashCard utility.
    Good luck

  • Satellite U305-S7432 freezes and does not respond sometimes using Win XP

    Hello.
    I have a Satellite U305-S7432 notebook.
Originally it came with Vista but I reformatted with XP Pro. I have installed all updates up to service pack 3.
My problem is that sometimes when I try to restart the computer it simply freezes and does not respond at all to any input. I notice that this happens if I close and later open the lid (meaning that the computer goes input standby mode and comes back).
Please note that the standby mode works perfectly fine and the computer leaves standby fine but afterwards when I try to restart, the computer will simply hang instead of restarting.
If it never enters standby mode, the restart takes place as expected.
I have installed all drivers and there are no question marks in Device Manager. I updated to the latest chipset driver from Intel (for the mobile 965) as well. Lastly, I also tried adding /forceresetreg to my boot.ini (as suggested by: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822624) but to no avail.
    Any ideas?

This is a Toshiba US notebook series and you should check the Toshiba US driver page for available drivers:
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp
If you will not find the XP drivers at this page then you could try to install some single drivers for Sat U300 from the Toshiba European page but Im not quite sure if such XP drivers will run on you Sat U305. But its worth a try!
    Good luck
