Satellite A80 - in device manager ODD listed with with error code 39

Hello,
I have a Satellite A80 127. I have an issue with my CD drive.
When I was trying to upgrade my XP home edition to XP Pro SP2, display said on rebooting that it couldn't read from my CD drive. On inspection I found that my CD/DVD drive is unable to read CDs though it can read DVDs. From what I remember, it was working fine couple of days before.
I was trying to locate the source of problem and through the Troubleshoot option I found that I have a yellow exclamation mark against my SCSI/RAID host controller in my Device Manager (with error code 39). I haven't been able to update the driver it will give me error message. Also, there was a Nero SCSI/RAID controller. I tried removing it to check whether the main one works, but still no success.
Any suggestion would be great and in the meantime I will try to find similar threads.

I tried using the 'guided registry' and it showed that all upper and lower filters were cleared in registry. But the CD read problem is still unsolved.
Anyone has any further suggestion?

My Ipd Nano 6th generation isn't recognized by my computer or iTunes. I've followed all the troubleshooters and have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes numerous times. I've checked for legacy software under device manager but I keep getting error 10.

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.

Satellite P200-1FC: CD/DVD drive will not start - error Code 10

My Satellite P200-1FC was purchased in January 2008 and preloaded with Vista Home Premium. The DVD/CD Drive is listed in device manager as "TSST corp CDDVDW TS-L632H ATA Device".
At first the drive worked perfectly, but has recently refused to start. Device manager now shows it with a yellow exclamation mark and it's status is given as "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
Clicking check for solutions produces "could not load driver software" but no solution.
Searching similar questions in user forums suggests a use of a Microsoft Help & Support page headed "The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista".
However this involves modifying the registry! As a relative novice I am reluctant to do this unless I can find no easier way.
Must I bite the bullet and and enter this minefield, or is there a better way?

This error is definitely caused by a wrong registry entry.
I had such error several times ago and I have solved it removing the lower and upper filters from these registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Here are some steps how it worked on my Windows system;
- I removed the CD/DVD drive from the device manager
- Then edited the registry as described above
- Rebooted the notebook

If you are running Windows and it stops on the first stage of a sync then my suggestion is to uninstall AppleDeviceSupport version 2.0.1 and re-install 1.5.2.

Those instructions are to fix a different problem, but it fixes the problem with syncing devices stopping on the first stage (backing up the device) too. The AppleDeviceSupport 2.0.1 comes with Quicktime 7.7 and, I believe, the latest Safari version.
I'm running XP, so used the Everything search program (http://www.voidtools.com/download.php) to find the directories with the AppleDeviceSupport installers (they have the extension .msi and the version in the directory name) and right-mouse-buttoned them to do the uninstall and install. Note you need a reboot afterwards. (Actually I just sorted out the service in the Service Manager, but that's a longer explaination and a reboot works fine).

I have a situation where I need to replay a request if I cannot acquire a database connection, and to not replay a request otherwise. Is the XSQL-007 code the only code that deals with database connections?

Hi, While adding/Changing member in planning it gives the error "The SQL operation failed with an error code: 0" and not allowing any of the changes. I am not able to open the forms giving the error as "Fiscal Days Input - is invalid". Interestingly one form was opening, when the Page selection is changed it also started giving error as like "Fisacal Days Input(form name) - is invalid check log for details". If a form is invalid it generally means that one of the dimension references is missing. Can you get in to edit the form? If you can, see if you can preview it. I suspect you will not be able to. If not, check all dimension boxes have at least one member against them. If you have multiple rows and/or columns check all of them too. I've had a couple of forms in dev "drop" a dimension reference but only once or twice so not enough to reproduce or find out what is causing it. Each time I got the "form invalid" error message and managed to fix it. Hope this helps.

While importing the data through xls file , i am getting the error message "Partial Set failure with RC error code = <0x84020020> for record number
0 through 212" and no record get created in Data manager.
Although i mapped all values , still it giving me an error message.

HI,
I checked the exl file and found that in the first column and first data was in text format ('0001)but later on when i change the record and moved it to the last record , it worked fine. I was able to load all records including ('0001)
I don't know wht the logic behind this:
if my first record was ('0001), system was giving me the error and not allowing me to load the data. But when i moved the record as the last record it not only allow me to load the records but allow ('0001) also.
If anyone have any clue , plz let me know.

I refilled the HP cartridges in my Photosmart C 7250 All-in-One and put them in and got this error. I have D/C power,etc and it still comes up with this error code. Now what?

Windows Server 2012 Windows Backup failed with following error code '0x8078006B' (Windows Backup failed to create the shared protection point on the source volumes.).

The Volume Shadow Copy service initially was running under the context of System, so we thought that ‘System’ doesn’t have permissions to access network shares.
When the Volume Shadow Copy service was running under the context of System, this was the error logged:
“failed with following error code '0x8078014B' (There was a failure in creating a directory on the backup storage location.).”
Which is likely due to not having permissions to write to the network location.
This is a scheduled backup trying to write to a network location, so we changes the service to run under the context of an account that does have permissions to write to the network share.
 Then the error changed to this:
“failed with following error code '0x8078006B' (Windows Backup failed to create the shared protection point on the source volumes.).”

We are trying to back up folders/files from 2 local drives (C: & D:), both of which have only 10% space used, and 100 GB free.
We are attempting to back the files up to a Remote Shared File (and there is 100+ GB free space out there).
 If we try another network location, we receive the exact same error.
This is Windows Server 2012, not running Hyper-V and is a physical server not a VM.

I tried to update to IOS 4.3.4 today but now my iPad1 stuck in recovery mode with and ITunes cannot restore with an error code of 11?
(With the old discussion groups it was easy to see where other people had similar problems, these new groups seems clunky in comparison)

OK, fixed it by using SHIFT+RESTORE to load the iPad1,1_4.3.4_8K2_Restore.ipsw file in directly from the
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates
folder.
No idea why the upgrade to 4.3.3 failed in the first place and no idea why iTunes was not clever enough to just do it by itself when it detected that there was a problem in the first place.
