Satellite C50-B-133 - HDMI not connecting to TV

Help.
I have just purchased a Satellite C50-B-133 laptop.
The problem is I cannot get it to display via a HD cable on my Panasonic TV.
It does recognise that it is connected to a Panasonic TV.
I have done the Windows + P to select 'duplicate screen' etc but to no avail.
The Toshiba website interactive assistant mentioned it could be the cable...........is that a possibility?
Other items - playstation etc connect via this cable with no difficulty.
When i go into settings > change pc settings > display > detect > 'didn't detect another display' is the answer. However when i go into Toshiba Desktop Assist > tools and utilities > display utility > multiple displays > the panasonic tv is listed. #confused.............

I think you should power off both devices: TV and notebook.
Regarding the notebook: please ensure that the notebook has been shut off completely as mentioned here:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm
Connect both devices with the HDMI cable and then power up the TV and the notebook.
Then you could try to use FN + F4 (or only F4) to switch between the external and internal display. Please ensure that internal resolution has to match the external resolution in order to use the both displays simultaneously.
In case this will not work, try to reinstall the display driver (graphic card driver.)

My Satellite A25-S279 (WinXP) will not connect to the internet wirelessly since UVerse was installed. (Rather, I should say
it 'connects', then immediately disconnects.) When I had regular DSL, there was no problem, but since UVerse installation,
I can connect ONLY with the ethernet cable.
Thinking it was my 'old' computer, I took it to the local computer place---they were able to connect instantly (wirelessly) AND maintain connection. Sooo...I've told this to ATT, & had 2 different techs out here, both of whom were very patient & tried EVERYTHING they could think of,  & both of whom failed to fix the problem. They maintain that it is NOT the fault of the modem/router, but is some 'miscommunication' between my laptop & the modem/router.
Is that possible? Is there a setting I need to change on the laptop? If it worked BEFORE UVerse, and if it STILL works at the Computer store, and if it works WITH the cable, why won't it connect wirelessly?
Thank you SO much for any thoughts!

It is possible. While it's not common, sometimes you could have a working router and a working wireless card in a laptop, but they just don't communicate. It sounds like that might be the problem unfortunately.

    Hello,

Usually you have two possibilities to install the driver.
You can execute the installation.exe (setup.exe) file or you will install the driver within the device manager. I recommend you to choose the 2nd option in case the standard procedure does functions.
The driver from Toshiba EU driver page has to be unzipped.
Within the display-20140528122046 folder you would find the TC40214900E.exe
This is an zipped folder. Click right on this file and choose “unzip here”.
Now you will get another TC40214900E folder where you would find all the driver files (dll).
Next step: go to device manager, choose graphic card and click update/install driver
Now choose the “Advanced” installation option and point to the unzipped driver folder.
The system will pick up the files automatically and you could finish the installation.
    That’s it.
    Hello
I have same problem and can i use mentioned driver "TC40214900E.exe"? my notebooks model is satellite C55-B5201

  • No sound over HDMI, picture works fine but in sound manager tells me HDMI not connected

    Hi There
I have a tm2 1050ez and am experiencing problems with my HDMI port.
When I connect it the display automatically gets duplicated and everything works fine, but when I try to play a movie with vlc for example I do not get any sound through the TV, only on the tablet.
Of course I went into the sound manager because I suspected that you must tell the tm2 where to play the sound, but to my surpise it said that the HDMI cable was not connected?
I therefore could not make any changes to the default output device...
Even in the IDT application wants to tell me that the HDMI cable is not connected. I have plugged and unplugged it several times to no avail.
I hope someone can help me on the above, I already searched the net for several hours but havn't seen a similar problem, with the most problems it does show the cable as conneted..
    Thanks in advance!

I have a Satellite L455-S5975 laptop. I am trying to connect to a public (but security code protected) wireless network, WPA2. I have successfully connected a few times, but when I "sleep" my computer or restart it, I can no longer connect. The wireless network is recognized and I am prompted for the password, but it will not connect. When I run the troubleshooting, it asks me to restart the wireless router. Restarting the router does work and allows me to connect, but it is a router used by many other people and I don't have the option of resetting it every time I want to get on the internet. I have looked into updating the wireless driver software, but cannot determine what I need. I believe I am running Windows 10 on my computer. Any advice would be appreciated!

  • Macbook Pro Mini Display Port To HDMI Not Connecting To Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR9 And Any HDMI TV's In My House

I have a Macbook Pro (Mid 2010) and recently purchased a mini DVI to HDMI cable. I was using it perfectly fine on my LG TV for a while but than one day I plugged it in and it just stopped working. The Macbook Pro screen would flash blue for a few seconds than return to normal as if nothing was plugged in. I tried detect displays and everything and it sill does not work. I tried it on 4 HDMI inputs on TV's in my house and none of them are working. Does anyone have any idea on what's wrong? I didn't change the settings at all. Just plugged it in than it stopped working. Anyone know whats wrong?

    Hi 1,
You are far from the first to experience this issue. An SMC Reset may resolve some video issues, although this scenario is not listed; still, I would try it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

  • Satellite C50-B919 Missing Drivers

    Hello,
I just bought Satellite C50-B919 laptop, and when searching for drivers (part number PSCMNV) I can only find bios updates. (this is a middle east laptop)
Now I understand that this is a low budget laptop, but this doesn't mean it shouldn't support and drivers, the professional thing to do is to post drivers from laptops before or as you ship them to the public.
Your urgent action is kindly required.

    Hi
I can understand your point of few and I would like to help you to find the proper drivers for your Satellite C50-B919
Indeed the drivers for Satellite C50-B PSCMNV are not released on the Toshiba EU driver page but the same notebook series was released in Europe starting with the short model number PSCMNE
Choosing the PSCMNE model number you will find all drivers which would be compatible with the C50-B PSCMNV series.
Regarding the part built in the notebook:
You can find out this very easily following the instruction in this doc:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD0302U00000R01.htm
I hope I could help you a little bit.

  • Satellite C50-A - HDMI TV not recognized

    Dear all,
I just bought the Toshiba Satellite C50-A-U19 (pscg6e) with windows 8 64bit 3 days ago. The HDMI connection to my TV worked for 2 days, but right now the laptop does not display the TV as a device.
I've tried several booting sequences, and tried to "find new hardware" in the device manager. I've changed HDMI ports on the TV. Still, there is no sign that the TV is recognized. I've tried using <winkey> + <p> but because no additional monitor is detected nothing happens.
I've changed the HDMI cable, and tested the cable (and the TV HDMI port) by using a playstation.
I've downloaded and installed the latest display drivers from the toshiba website. I tried using the device manager to see if any additional updates are available, windows tells me i've got the latest drivers already.
I've used the "restore system" function to set the configuration back one day, but to no avail. I've spent about 3 hours trying to solve this problem and I'm so frustrated right now.
I'm absolutely clueless what else i can do at this point to get the HDMI to link up with my TV. All help will be greatly appreciated. please please please help me!

    Thanks for your reaction.
I've not created a recovery media. Can i still do this or is it too late by now? Is it possible for me, after using the notebook for a week, to reset to " factory settings" or only to reset to the ssettings i have right now?
I should also note that the problem changed for a bit. First of all, i used the recovery feature again and the HDMI output worked for about a day. The next time i booted the notebook, the HDMI was recognized when the TV was switched on a non-HDMI channel. As soon as i switch to the HDMI channel on the TV, my laptop screen went black for a second (to readjust i guess) and it no longer recognizes the TV at all. It acts like it is not connected.
when the TV is on a non-HDMI channel, i can make the laptop screen go blank by using the screen option "only second screen." As soon as i switch the TV to an HDMI channel (making it unrecognizable for the PC), the laptop screen turns back on.
WHen i switch from the HDMI back to non-hdmi, the laptop won't recognize the TV again. Only when i power down and restart the TV it is recognized (but only as long as i'm on non-hdmi channels).

  • WI-FI is not working on Satellite C50-A-179

    Hello everyone!
I own Toshiba Satellite C50-A-179 (PSCGAE) laptop with Windows 8 and recently I've tried installing Connectify on it.
However, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter was missing on the laptop, and because of that Connectify couldn't work. I've tried to enable/install it somehow using tips found on the internet. One of the suggestion was to reinstall the Wireless Adapter driver.
    I uninstalled the original driver, and reinstalled it again after downloading it from Toshiba website ( [here|http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=2&selSeries=312&selProduct=7934&selSh ortMod=3969&language=13&selOS=40&selType=97&yearup load=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode=al lMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country=all &selectedLanguage=13&type=97&page=1&ID=86778&OSID= 40&driverLanguage=42] )
I'm sure I downloaded and installed the right driver for the right adapter which is "Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network Adapter". I made sure before the installation to check all the information about the adapter and the driver.
However, after the reinstallation wifi has stopped working completely:
    -the wireless network connection icon/adapter from "Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections" is there but it does not behave as it should, it just looks as a generic network connection icon and not a specific one-basically it doesn't represent the actual adapter and hasn't got the name of it in the note;
    -wifi option in Windows 8 settings menu-Change PC settings-Network has disappeared altogether (bluetooth option is still there and so is airplane mode option);
-wifi can be turned on by pressing enable from the righ click menu of that generic network connection I've mentioned, but it won't pick up any signal and won't find any connections even though there definitely are some.
There are no yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager list and the wireless adapter is there as well, behaving and pretending as if everything was all right and working properly.
I've tried Troubleshooting, installing driver using Windows Update, installing and updating driver from its properties menu in Device Manager, and all kinds of things like that, but none of it has helped and wifi still does not work.
Basically, the laptop seems to be thinking that the adapter is working properly and everything is fine HW and SW wise, but in reality it isn't. I really don't know what else I should try, I don't want to reinstall the whole operating system because I'm afraid it (or I) would mess everything up even more (messing up even more drivers).
I'm running on a cable internet connection now, and I'm glad at least that is working (I really need the laptop for work and I can't afford to loose it for a day, let alone for longer)
    Could anyone please help me?
Any ideas how to fix this and make wifi work again?
I'll be really thankful for any advice.
    Thank you, Miko31.

    Hi
In case the WLan card is recognized properly in device manager, the Wlan driver has been installed properly and I dont think that there could be a problem with WLan driver.
In my opinion you should check if the WLan card is enabled properly by using the FN key combination
Furthermore if Wlan has been enabled properly you should try to Add new WLan and should configure the Wifi once again.
This can be done in control panel-> Network & Sharing center -> Manage wireless networks (on the left) -> Add button
    > However, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter was missing on the laptop,
Regarding the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
You could enable this in device manager. Here choose your "network adapters", then you should find the Virtual Wifi Adapter. Now do right click it and enable it.
It could be also possible that Virtual Wifi Adapter is hidden. In such case you should first unhide it from the device manger, then re-enable the adapter from the device manger tools.
After that, you have to start your cmd (console) with admin right and should type:
    +netsh wlan start hostednetwork+

  • Satellite C855D-S5237 Laptop HDMI Output Not Working

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5237 Laptop and the HDMI Output is no longer working on my Toshiba TV. The TV does not recognize that anything is connected and the laptop doesn't recognize the TV as a display option. I have used this laptop many times in the past to connect to my TV with an HDMI cable and it worked fine. It has been a few months since I tried it but it is no longer working. Any ideas as to what could be the problem? Thanks

  • Satellite C50-D - External Hard Drive is not recognized

Have just purchased Satellite C50 D but cannot get it to read or recognise my LaCie hard drive.
As this has all the data from my previous computer it is rather important. Can anyone provide help and guidance as to how to a) read the drive or b) transfer all the data onto the laptop memory
    Many thanks
    A:-)

    Hi
The notebook supports 1 USB 3.0 port and 2 USB 2.0 ports.
I recommend you to connect the external HDD to each port (USB2.0 and USB3.0) just to check if its not compatibility problem. But usually it should not be a big problem to connect an external USB 2.0 device to an USB 3.0 port.
However, it could be also possible that this external HDD needs more than usual 500mA power provided by one USB 2.0 port. In such case you should use an USB Y cable to connect the HDD to two USB ports.

  • Satellite C50-B-14D - USB ports not working

I have a Satellite C50-B-14D and have had it from new for about 4 months.
I didn't realise at the time of purchase (online) that it has no optical drive so I have bought an external one.
Whilst attempting to plug it in I discovered that nothing happened in the 2 ports on the right hand side (2.0 and 3.0) so decided to try the left hand 2.0 port.
It does detect the device but then undetects it within 10 seconds, it continues to do this every few seconds making it impossible for me to access my work on CD!!!
I have contacted the people I purchased it from but they say it is a Toshiba issue?
Can anyone help fix it as I don't want to send it for repair as I can't be without it for more that 2 days.
    HHHEEEEELLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I have tried various items connected via the usb ports and nothing works.
If a device like my dvd/cd writer is specifically a usb device why would it not have enough power to work, even if it was plugged into the usb 3.0 port? It works perfectly well on my old laptop.
It was only bought in October so is still under warranty and guarantee but I really can't be without it so am reluctant to send it anywhere for repair.
I was hoping there might be a way of uninstalling and reinstalling the usb ports?

  • Satellite C50-B-14Z - Wi-Fi does not work properly

I've bought my laptop 1 week ago (Satellite C50-B-14Z), but Wi-Fi is not working properly. Most of the time, it looks like it's connected to my network without any problem. However, It does not work, I can't surf the web.
The router is new and all the conection has been checked by a staff member from the internet company.
What can i do? All software is updated.
    Thanks.

As mentioned by previous user; first of all you should check if the notebooks internet connection would work using the LAN.
In case you will be able to connect to internet using LAN, you should check the WLan settings.
For example: I would recommend you to disable the WLan encryption (within the router configuration menu) and to test the WLan connection to an open (not secured) wireless LAN.
Of course this should be done only for testing purposes.
In case the connection would work, test different kind of encryption (WPA/WPA2 AES TKIP)
