Satellite C55-A-1DC doesn't start anymore

My computer doesn't start anymore!
When I push the on button, everything is going like it supposed to go,until you see the screen with:
Toshiba
Leading Innovation >>>
And then it just stays stuck at that for a while, and then it just goes black!!
I don't know what to do anymore :(
Please help me!!

Are you able to access the BIOS?
Check this by pressing the F2 button after powering on the unit.
If this isnt possible, there must be some kind of hardware problem (motherboard, RAM).
In case you could access the BIOS, check the first BIOS page. Usually the HDD should be listed there. HDD name, size information should be visible.
In case this HDD isnt listed, I assume your HDD is faulty and should be replaced.
Of course, you would need to reinstall the system once again.
In case the HDD is listed in BIOS, I would recommend you to boot using the Recovery disk (or another Windows installation disk) in order to reinstall the system.

i just installed the new updates my MAC OS required (intel security update 01-2009 an some kind of flash plugin) and now MAC OS doesn't start anymore
i press the power button and then at first the apple icon appears and then i begins to load ... nearly an hour it loaded until i tried again ...

my windows vista partition on the same notebook is still working so what about the update now???

From your Install DVD boot from same & try running repair permissions and +repair disk.+

You can't. You can only reinstall the OS if the app is actually corrupt. However, have you tried to see if Safari starts in another user account on your machine? Make a test account here

by clicking on the + sign in the bottom left corner. Fill out the details and click 'create'.
Once you've made the new account, log out of your current account and into the new one.
Does Safari open in that account?

After BIOS update Satellite L350-172 doesn't start anymore

I just updatet the BIOS of my notebook from 1.60 to 2,20. Now the Notebook doesn't start any longer.
"It was stopped for reason not to damage the Computer" - blue schreen.
How can I downgrade the bios again? Or - what have I to change in the bios-settings?

Im a little bit confused about your posting. How do you tell your BIOS not to restart?
Anyway, after BIOS update you should load the default settings in BIOS.
Did you choose the right BIOS especially for your model?

Satellite C55-A-1L0 won't start into Windows 8

Hey guys.
I hope you can help me a little.
I have a Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1L0 here and it won't start into Windows 8.
I turn it on, the Toshiba welcoming screen appears, then I get a message on a black screen saying "checking media (fail)" and after a little while "no bootable device. Please restart"
I checked the BiOS and it doesn't seem to see the Hard Disk (says HDD- none) and even in the list of boot order I get a list with the DVD drive with exact name but for HDD not.
I tried to do a recocery with the F12 button and I get the list to choosw from where I want to boot but selecting harddisk doesn't work.
So I thought I'd try a linux live distribution to see where my hard disk is and to save my data (after some settings in the BIOS - boot mode CMS) but I cannot find it there too. (I have a mtab and fstab file, would it help if I posted it in here?)
Is my HDD broken? Can I try something else?

This notebook model is pretty new and I presume with valid warranty so I recommend you to contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
Using diagnostic tools they can check if problem is HDD or HDD controller.
On this virtual way we cannot say for sure what the problem is. In my opinion you should not waste your time because you cannot do much if there is hardware related issue.
Last step you can try is to set BIOS to default settings and check it again.

Touch Pad of Satellite P50-A-M13 doesn't work anymore - Solution

before someone should have the same problem, I wanted to share my problem and my solution here:
Information about my system:
I have installed Windows 8.1 Professional and Scientific Linux 6.5 in Dual Boot on my Toshiba Satellite P50-A-M13.
_*Problem:*_
The Touch Pad suddenly doesn't work below Windows 8.1 Professional anymore, the mouse pointer vanishes after a reboot. You can't deactivate/activate the Touch Pad with the F5 key (without pressing the FN-button) anymore. The white LED of the Touch Pad doesn't work anymore. Another operating system (in my case: Scientific Linux) in Dual Boot doesn't recognize the Touch Pad anymore after a reboot, too. So it isn't working below the other operating system anymore, too. It looks like a hardware defect since it affects more than one operating system.
_*Additional information:*_
If you attach an external USB mouse to your Toshiba notebook, the Touch Pad will work again, you can activate/deactivate the Touch Pad via the F5 key (without pressing the FN-button) below Windows 8.1 again, but the white LED of the Touch Pad still doesn't work and doesn't turn off or on. Same below another operating system in Dual Boot. The BIOS doesn't offer a feature that you can activate or deactivate the Touch Pad there.
Reason:
I had the problem that the feature "automatic driver installation" below Windows 8.1 Professional was activated. The driver for the Synaptic Touch Pad got replaced by a Microsoft driver in the background automatically.
_*Solution:*_
_Keep the external USB mouse attached and start Windows 8.1 if it isn't started already. Then deactivate feature "automatic driver installation" below Windows 8.1. Then reinstall the Synaptic Touch Pad driver from the download page of Toshiba website again. Then reboot Windows. The Touch Pad should work then again. And never, never activate the feature "automatic driver installation" below Windows 8.1 again!_

Satellite C50-A-1G6 doesn't start

My Satellite C50-A (6 months old) doesn't start up at all.
With the power adapter attached, a white light is on. When I push the powerbutton, it turns white for a second together with a second white light in front, next to the power light.
The computer tries to start and I can hear a click sound and immediately the light of the powerbutton and second light on the front turn off. After 6 seconds both lights turn on again for a second (a click sound is heared) and the lights turn off again, etc.
I tried to remove the battery and power adapter and waited for some time and tried it again, without battery and with battery.
This is my second Satellite C50-A-1G6....
The first died in a when it was a few days old, with a non functioning black display and I got a new one... this one that seems to be dead too.

On this virtual way it is not easy to say why this happen. I have similar problem on my older machine when I use standby or hibernation mode. Notebook tries to start but make click sound, goes off and try to restart. I can stop this just if notebook has no any power supply anymore.
After connecting Ac power supply machine starts properly and everything is OK again.
To be honest I don't know why this happen.
In your case best thing you can do is to contact your local dealer or Toshiba service directly and ask for help. The warranty is still valid so you must not pay for any kind of repair.
My machine is old and I don't want to spend any money for repair?

MacBookPro 15' retina doesn't start anymore

Hi guys!
I just bought the brand new MacBookPro 15' retina and was on my way to set up all setting like icloud, email and etc., and when I moved dock to the left from the bottom laptop just paused and doesn't work anymore. I was trying to reset several times but it didn't goes through. Only the apple sound and nothing after.
I don't remember operating system because I just start to use this laptop.

There a slight chance you might be able to recover it by resetting the System Management Controller (SMC). Otherwise it needs warranty service.

Apple TV 3 doesn't start anymore after update

After installing the current software update my ATV3 didnn't start anymore.
LED is blinking slowly forever.
So I connected it to ITunes with a Micro-USB cable to restore it. Restore went fine.
Back on the TV with Ethernet connected I can choose my language then the screen gets dark for a moment and I'm back at the screen with the language chioces.
When I disconnect the Ethernet cable, I get to the "Choose the WiFi Network or connect Ethernet" screen.
-> my Wifi Network is not shown (its normally visible)
-> when I reconnect the Ethernet cable I'm rebooted back to the language coice again.
Retried the USB based Restore, Checked Firewall -> there I see that it gets the correct IP (it has a fixed one) and pacet capture shows hat it does a successfull http and an https request that seems to be cut short. No packets show up as blocked.
I stopped the DHCP server to get it to manual configuration -> still reboots as soon as it gets network.
Disconnected all other Apple devices from the net (might be a Bonjour problem) -> still reboots.

So i found some other problems and mybe thats the same source... Cinema 4D Lite doesn't start also. On the MAXON website i found that exist some troubles with ATI graphic chips under Mac OS X

PS CS 6 doesn't start anymore.

When I start PS CS6 I get a message to login with my Adobe-ID to test the CS6 Extended software. When I close this window CS 6 doesn't start.
But I bought a PS CS6 software two years ago and worked with this software without problems.
I upgraded from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1 (both 64 bit). Is this the reason?

[SOLVED] UEFI-System doesn't start anymore after rEFInd update

got some problem with my UEFI system after todays update of refind-efi: Arch doesn't boot anymore
What have I done:
At first I did a
$ sudo pacman -Syu
During the update I was presented with the usual information concerning copying some files from /usr/lib/refind/*. So I did this:
$ sudo cp /usr/lib/refind/refind_x64.efi /boot/efi/EFI/refind/refind_x64.efi
Than I did:
$ sudo cp /usr/lib/refind/config/refind.conf /boot/efi/EFI/refind/refind.conf
$ sudo cp -r /usr/share/refind/icons /boot/efi/EFI/refind/icons
After that I rebooted my computer and was presented with an "Asrock" writing that doesn't change to the rEFInd-screen as it should.
Question: What can I do now? (And what did I wrong?)

Jepp, I've seen the new name "refind_x64.efi". During my attempt to perform a proper install I did what you assume in your first solution - renaming the new binary to the old name (refindx64.efi).
After that my system didn't reboot ...
After that I booted from my USB stick with which I've installed my Arch system. I mounted my system partitions to /mnt, loaded the efivars module and arch-chrooted into the system. From there I copied the new binary from /usr/lib/refind/refind_x64.efi to /boot/efi/EFI/refind/refind_x64.efi and did this:
# efibootmgr -c -g -d /dev/sda -p 1 -w -L "rEFInd" -l '\EFI\refind\refind_x64.efi'
/boot/efi is mounted to /dev/sda1
But even after I did this a reboot only led to the well known green "Asrock" writing - no rEFInd appeared
Using the efi shell I can see that the boot entries seem to be okay.

Itunes doesn't start anymore

no exception,no error itunes just wont start anymore. i tried to reinstall and i tried to repair. the helper still runs, but itunes doesnt.

mine wont ethier i installed the new itunes and repaired everything. it wont open. i connected my ipod video (the one that shows color) and it keeps saying do not disconnect and it always used to automaticly open itunes when i connect. plz help

Db doesn't start anymore

After using the MS Oracle Dataprovider and having a lot of troubles, I installed ODP and everything works perfect.
I decided to install ODP on my Server too, but then the db would not start anymore! The Event Viewer shows a problem with the OracleOraHome90Agent: Agent process exited abnormally during initialization.
Can anyone help?

I believe, you installed ODP.NET in a previous Oracle Home. Oracle 9i Rel2 client is being bundled with ODP.NET as ODP.NET requires it on the client side. If you installed ODP.NET in a previous existing Oracle Home, some of the earlier DLLs might have been overwritten by Oracle 9i Rel2 Client DLLs. That's the reason we strongly recommend to install ODP.NET either in a new Oracle Home or a 9i Rel2 Oracle Home. You can use Oracle Home Selector to switch between different Oracle Homes.

After shut down Satellite P300-150 doesn't start anymore

I have a P300-150, it shut down a day or so ago mid-use. I thought it was just a protective thermal shut down as I'd had it on all day watching dvds / online tv. It wouldn't come back up straight away so I let it cool off for a while but it still won't come back up. Tried it battery in and battery out to no avail. I don't even get as far as POST/BIOS.
Anyone know the best course of action or other things to check? The PSU is working as my multi-meter sees a healthy 19-odd volts from it.
