  • Re: Satellite C660 - (PSC0QE) display driver update

    Hello all you wonderful people.
I'm writing this post to inquire as to why the display driver for this model hasn't been updated since 2010?
I have been playing a favourite game of mine (Civilization V) on this model. They updated the game with a patch in November and the computer can no longer display the graphics properly because of the old drivers.
I've done my research on the gaming forums to try and fix this and after looking at my dxdiag its become clear that the drivers are out of date. I've been on the Intel website and they have updated drivers for the card (Intel(R) HD graphics), I've downloaded these drivers however the laptop will not install them unless they are Toshiba verified? My questions are..
Why does Toshiba stop me from installing these drivers from Intel's website?
    and
How do I get round all this Pfaff and update my graphics drivers?
    Many thanks
    Tom

    > I've downloaded these drivers however the laptop will not install them unless they are Toshiba verified?
You can update the drivers within the device manager
    >EDIT: Having spent a bit of time reading other threads i've managed to update the drivers
I assume you updated this via device manager right?
I did it too and it functioned.

  • Satellite T130-02F - Display Driver Error

    Hi There,
I just purchased the Satellite T130-02F and after choosing 32bit running system I had the power connected to charge battery up and then started to get "display driver errors" where the screen would flash black and then flash back on. I've checked device manager and driver details, the drive is upto date and as far as I can see is the correct driver. I've searched sites to see if there ar other drivers out there, but its up to date.
I haven't installed anything extra on the computer yet and find I get the error more regularly on the battery rather than power which concerns me. The computer is less than 24hrs old.
    Any advice?
Mobile Intel (R) display chip set.
    Windows 7 installed 32bit.

    Hi
In your case I would try reinstalling the display driver. You can find the latest version on the Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
After this make sure that the newest BIOS version is installed. You can download it on the Toshiba website too.
If nothing works your only chance is an authorized service provider. It seems to be a hardware problem and must be checked from professional people.

  • Satellite S3000-X11 - Display Driver install problem

    Hi,
I am trying to install the display driver for my laptop and have downloaded the zip file 'display-20080414134834' from the Toshiba website. This file contains both a BIOS update and the display driver.
Unfortunately when attempting to install the BIOS update I am told that I need to insert a floppy disk, which, sadly, is impossible given that this model of laptop does not have a floppy disk drive! It only has a DVD Drive, and not a rewritable one at that. Secondly, on attempting to install the display update (having failed with the BIOS) I am told to insert the disk containing Setup.exe. I don't know if this refers to the aforementioned floppy disk or another CD that perhaps came with the computer. If it did come with the computer however, it is not in my possession now (this is a second hand laptop that didn't come with any driver software).
My question is how am I supposed to install this update and driver without a floppy disk drive or a cd containing setup.exe? Is there a way to get around this? The file I downloaded was the only available one from the Toshiba website, so there doesn't seem to be one available which doesn't require either of the things I'm lacking.
If anyone can help I would be very grateful because this is preventing me from playing some computer games!
In the meantime the generic driver is fine for browsing the internet etc.
My operating system, by the way, is Windows XP Professional.
    Processor: 1.1 GHZ Celeron
    RAM: 256mb
    Please help!
    Thank you.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't buy a floppy drive but you put me on the right track for a successful workaround.
I used a programme called Virtual Floppy Drive (available at http://chitchat.at.infoseek.co.jp/vmware/vfd.html) to create a disk for the bios update. I was then able to install the graphics driver without a problem. I'm quite amazed that this worked, but it did.
So, there's a possible way to get around this problem.
I'm off to play all the video games I haven't been able to play for a while! Haha.

  • Satellite 2430-402, Display Driver Problem

I have a Satellite 2450-201. Very often when the system comes back from Hibernate the system will not re-boot, it gets stuck after the opening logo. I have to shut it off and then then got to safe mode, and then restart. I get a message that the system has recovered from a device failure and it identifies the Nvidia Display Driver as the culprit. I have re-loaded the latest Driver from Toshiba, but if I try ANY update from Microsoft the Display goes crazy, and I have to go throught the re-boot and safe mode thing again. Any ideas on what the problem may be?

Good evening ! I had this problem with my Satellite 2430-402. Ive updated the Bios and all was fine.
Did you checked your Bios Version at first ?

  • Satellite L10-190 - Display driver for Windows 7

    Hi,
reading the message below *I* *wonder about this anwer* from Toshiba support! Why *not* installing Win 7 on an "oldie"? I did the same and it works very well. But I have got the same problem as Assim. And everybody knows, that Intel has not the intention to allocate a Win 7-driver for this chip (INTEL 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics). In my opinion, this is not a correct behaviour.
I think either TOSHIBA or INTEL should allocate such a driver for their clients. This would be a minimum of support. Perhaps you think about...
    Best regards,

Re: Satellite L10-209 - How to install display driver for Windows 7?
Posted: 17-Mar-2010 09:02 in response to: Assim in response to: Assim
    Correct
    Hi
Im wondering that you installed Windows 7 on this oldie. In my opinion Windows XP would be the better choice but ok, you can do what you want ;)
Anyway, as far as I know your notebook is equipped with an Intel graphic card so I would recommend downloading the driver form Intel directly because the Toshiba website shows only Windows XP display drivers.
    http://www.intel.com
    Check this!!!

It is not so easy like you think. As you know hardware and software development goes together. With other words with new operating system there are new requirements for hardware and you can see on new notebooks sticker like Designed for WXP or Designed for Vista.
So now you and many other notebook users have old piece of hardware but want to use newest and latest software on it. OK I can understand it but can you understand that notebook manufacturer on some step must say: enough for old models. Who want to have newest stuff must also have newest hardware. Maybe sounds stupid now but for me it sounds logical.
The whole consumer products industry follows this logic I think.
You must also understand that support is not cheap and if you want to support old hardware with new operating systems you must have team of programmers who must design hundreds of drivers, tools and utilities and also many people who must test it before it comes to the customers. It is the army of people who are very expensive.
How the question is: is this rentable for the industry? To be honest I don't think so.

On checking Toshiba update site it shows later version 8.15.10.2353.
Have downloaded this ,I then unzipped it and it says will start automatic installation when finished but nothing happens.
Have tried several times but once unzipped it will not install.

  • Re: Satellite P100-160 - Display driver installation failed

Satellite P100-160, PSPAAE, vista 32 bit,
Today Aero wasn't working and not available in graphics properties. Installed latest display driver from Toshiba UK site, Intel 15.0.1.1114. This version was actually older than my current driver but I thought that maybe as it was the only one availabel that it must be correct.
The driver install failed with an error (no details just 'an error has occurred'). Now I have no aero and my display resolution cant be set above 1280x800 - should be 1440x900
To say I am pisseed would be an understatement. Can anyone help? thanks

    Hey,
If Aero is not available I dont think its display driver problem
Anyway, have you removed the old display driver before you installed the new one? Go to device manager > right click on graphic card > uninstall. After reboot the display driver should be uninstalled and you can start with display driver installation.
If you install drivers make sure you are logged in as Administrator and antivirus/firewall is disabled. Restart once again and you should be able to choose the native screen resolution now.

  • Satellite P205-S6237 - Display driver for Windows 7

When I boot up Windows 7, after the Windows 7 logo my screen goes black. The computer is still on, I just can't see anything. I can access safe mode just fine.
If I disable the two Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset Family drivers, I can get into Windows 7 however I can't use hibernate or sleep mode, and the highest resolution is 1280x800. I need a driver that works. Please help me.
I've downloaded all the drivers and tried them from Toshiba & Intel however none of them work

    Hi buddy,
Its not a good idea installing all drivers you can find. This could muddle up the operating system and cause such errors.
Usually the drivers provided on Toshiba page are always work. At the moment I would recommend removing all display drivers that you have installed now (you can do this in safe mode). Then restart your computer (also in safe mode) and run a registry cleaner like CCleaner to remove old registry keys. Restart again and now install the newest Toshiba display driver for your model.
Your model is listed on Toshiba US page:

  • Satellite C660 - No Display

I have a Satellite C660 laptop that is only a couple of months old and not used too much. I turned it on the other day, but the screen is completely blank. The laptop is making 'bleeping' sounds. One, quite high longish bleep, followed by the same pitch but two bleeps in quick succession. This cylce occurs every 30 seconds or so. It doesn't matter whether it is plugged in or running on the battery, the results are the same. I have also noticed that the machine is not getting that warm. When I had the laptop plugged in earlier I had to leave it for a while to answer the phone. Since it has not been working the laptop has one red light and one green light - none flashing. When I returned after about 10 minutes, both lights had turned to green and the bleeping was the same. I have went through the users manual and have tried the suggestions re: screen contrast, brightness and so on, but nothing is happening. I'm pretty p----d off as the laptop is only a few weeks old as I mentioned earlier.. Any help would be appreciated. PS - it is still under warranty.

    Hello
If your notebook isnt able to start and makes only some beeping sounds it means that a hardware malfunction was detected. Its not a software problem so you must contact an authorized service provider and let the guys check your unit for errors.
Its good that the notebook is still under warranty because such hardware repairs are for free and covered by warranty. So get in contact with your local authorized service provider and ask for help. Im sure the problem can be clarified with the guys :)

  • Re: Satellite U500-PSU9ME - display driver stopped responding

Since I purchased the laptop I had a problem with the display driver.
The screen keeps blackout and comes back after a second with the massage display driver stopped responding and has recovered, I wish I can attach a screenshot. The laptop have nVidia card on it.
The dealer replaced it for me but even with the new one, it comes each day once or twice
This is my 1st Toshiba, I always heard they are good but now I am kind of confused!
Anyone had this problem and could solve it? Please help.
    Note: i updated all drivers.

Why not? Driver stops responding only when cpu cooler runs on minimal rpm, seems to me, that fan rpm basically depend on cpu heat (_not_ gpu).
Very good solution, but I have a question: would you buy a server that works only when you disable lan card? would you buy a car which can turn only left?
No matter. Never the less, I'm satisfied with how the Intel i3 and Nvidia 310m works.
The thing i DO NOT like and which concerns manufacturer directly is keyboard. I don't know who designed flat buttons, but it's the worst keyboard I seen EVER. You can realize my disappointment, changing eeepc to u500 expecting better and getting THIS. They could at least have upgrade for keyboard replacement, the part that cost $50 spoils $1100, wonderful...
:( I imagined my fist toshiba as much happier thing...

  • Satellite A500-1GH - display driver stopped responding and has successfully

My laptop is the A500-1GH and I bought it 2 days ago...
My problem is that for the fourth time the monitor went black and then recovered and I'm getting the message "display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered". My graphics card is the Nvidia GeForce 330.
I would appreciate it if someone knows what should I do to fix this
    Thank you in advance

    Hi Guys,
I have experienced _*both*_ problems with my A500/O2J with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330m graphics card. Only purchased it Monday 15th February. Everything came factory installed except Office Professional 2007.
Set it up on Tuesday and it happened within 2 hours of set up, then again on the Wednesday. On the first 2 occurrances the display went black and recovered after a few seconds with a message along the lines of "graphic card driver has stopped responding and has successfully restored" then today (Friday 19/2) the screen went black and didn't come back on. I thought it had gone in to sleep mode but pressing the power button did nothing. After about 20 minutes I got the Blue Screen saying the system was shutting down to prevent unecessary damage and it then proceeded to restart.
I'm computer illiterate when it comes to this technical stuff and rang the place of purchase who told me to ring Toshiba (133 070). Of course being in the West they are closed so I will have to wait until Monday (1st day back at Uni).
Not off to a good start....so i hope this problem can be rectifed quickly and without too much fuss.
    My computer specs are as follows;
    A500/O2J
    Intel Core i5 processor
Windows 7 Home premium (32 bit)
    4GB memory
    500Gb Sata storage
    NVidia GeForce GT 330M graphics
    Karmon/Kardon speakers
Everything came factory pre-installed except printer and Office Professional 2007 but both were installed after the problem occured the first time.
