At first install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities, especially LAN and WLAN driver (internet connection). After doing this connect LAN cable and check internet connection.

  • Satellite L650-19W - No Internet connectivity

I've read through several of the posts on here and it would seem there is a basic problem with Toshiba laptops and WiFi adapters. I have a Satellite L650-19W Part Number : PSK1EE-02C00REN
Last night I finally accepted the BIOS update to 2.10 and WiFi driver update. After rebooting, you guessed, it no internet connectivity. Adapter connects to the wireless network but no DHCP information is retained. I've been to 2 different hot spots now where it used to work and the same happens. So I rolled back the driver. No joy. I uninstalled the adapter. Nope. I ran a registry cleaner and reinstalled (several times, several old versions). Nope.
I booted into safe mode and well, well, the wifi works and connects. So it sounds like a driver problem with some files left hanging around but how I get it working from here I don't know.
    Can anyone help?
    TIA
    Derek

    Hello
Why you have updated the BIOS and WLAN driver? Did you have any problems in the past?
I would recommend loading the default settings in BIOS and test it again.
Its strange that it works in safe mode Have you checked the TCP/IP configuration if DHCP is set for WLAN card?

  • Satellite U-305 wireless internet connects at 54Mbps, then freezes

Using the internal wifi, an Express Card adapter, or a USB wifi adapter I can connect to the internet, but when the initial page download bar reaches halfway it grinds to a halt.
The gauge shows a five bar connection with 54Mbps throughout.
When I connect with a cable, I get 100Mbps and complete, fast internet access.
This occurs with Firefox, Internet Explorer, or AOL.
This has been happening all the time I've had this computer.
The wifi on my other wireless device, a Palm T|X, works flawlessly.
    Thanks for any help.

What Antivirus and Firewall software do you have installed? Maybe they are causing Internet problem.
Have you tried updating the Wireless LAN Device Driver? (check the Toshiba website)
    Also update the BIOS.

  • Satellite Pro A10 - Unable to connect to internet

I have an old Satellite SPA10 which lost internet connectivity about a year ago.
    The components at fault are:
    Ethernet Controller
    Network Controller
    Video Controller
    Video Controller (VGA)
I have tried numerous attempts to install drivers to replace those already on but each attempt has failed. The Toshiba downloads I used were from the following link:
    http://www.toshiba.co.uk/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK&mode=allMachi nes&action=sea...
I'm using a desktop which is ok although it does have its own faults and would like to get back to using the Satellite.
    Any suggestions please?
    (Using Windows XP)

    Hi
This old notebook model is supported for WXP but WXP is not supported by Microsoft anymore.
Anyway if you want to have well working machine I recommend you to make clean WXP installation.
After doing this you should install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities additionally.
This notebook model was offered with WXP SP1 at this time.
Do you have WXP installation disc? Is clean WXP installation an option for you?
If yes I can help you with this and send you exact installation order for drivers, tools and utilities.
One more thing: do you have original recovery installation disc?

  • Satellite C660-108 does not boot if USB Bluetooth dongle connected

    Hiya,
I hope you would help me.
I am having an issue with my bluetooth dongle and satellite c660-108.
It works all perfectly. It connects devices via bluetooth and I can do everything I want.
But then when I am shutting down laptop and turning on again it won't go if the bluetooth dongle is still in the usb socket.
I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with black screen and blinking cursor in top left corner.
I have to turn it off, take out the bluetooth dongle and then turn it on again.
And then windows starts. After that I have to put in bluetooth dongle again if I want to work with it.
It is not a huge issue but it is a bit annoying when I have to take out the bluetooth and put it back again to get the windows started.
I am currently running under win 8.1 but had it already with win 8.
    Anybody any ideas??

    >I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with black screen and blinking cursor in top left corner.
Mostly the blinking cursor appears because the notebook cannot find an bootable device.
It looks like the unit cannot switch to the HDD while the USB dongle is connected.
I would recommend you checking the booting order in the BIOS.
Set the HDD at the first place and the USB as last possible booting device.
Save the changes and check if it helps.

  • What cable do I need to connect Satellite C660-1K9 to TV device?

    Hey guys!
I basically just need to know what kind of cable I would need to plug my laptop up to my television.
I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-1k9 laptop and my tv is make by Samsun.
    Thanks!

According notebook specification your notebook has as video-out port on the left side placed 15 pin VGA port. Using this port notebook can send video signal to external device. Please note it is for video signal only.
It is not the best option to connect your notebook to the TV but there is no other option. Check please if your TV has such port on the back side.
If yes, you need VGA cable for connection.

  • Need a slow download option for Satellite Internet Connections

Adobe Acrobat X fails to download completely when using Satellite internet connections.  The executable downloads but the 51Mbytes of software only gets part way through before failing as it is requires cable/ADSL speeds.
Please, those of us in the country who are remote, rely on satellite internet to reduce travel costs.  It would be nice if adobe would provide a download option for slow connections.

  • Satellite A100 - Can't get a Internet connection

    Hi,
I have a Satellite A100 and I am having trouble establishing a internet connection after having my reg/cleaned by uniblue, and for the love of me cant get a connection.
I mange to get my hub connected to internet but my laptop just wont allow connection it's an MCE and it works perfectly well. I have had so many differing answers all to do with differing addresses, it all ways says another vendor has control or an error 678. It does seem like it's an access issue between my IP provider and my system provider not communicating through IT PROTOCOL and my system XP PROFESSIONAL.
    Can anyone help please?

    Hi
To be honest your posting is a little bit hard to understand and doesnt contain all important informations.
Can you connect to Internet via WLAN or LAN?
What happens now exactly if you try to make an Internet connection?
Can your router connect to Internet? What is the status there?
If you have some problems with your internet provider you have to contact them directly. They can check your connection and make sure that you are using the right login informations.

  • How to share broadband internet connection on Satellite A200-1VG

    Hi,
I am very new to the world of laptops, 3 days old. In fact, I have a desktop (the OS is XP professional) and have just bought my self a Satellite A200-1VG (the OS is Vista).
I believe it is possible for 2 machines to share a broadband connection, but how I do not know. I must confess to being quite ignorant when it comes to technology ( you have probably gathered that by now) and I ask that any advice given will be given in not too technological language.
Thanks in advance from a newbie.
    MegP

Okay, firstly some routers or mdoems come with 2 ports on the back so you can connect two different computers so simply plug them both in
if not, then i advise you buy a router which allows you to add numerous computers to the same network via wires or add numerous computers wirelessly
i have one computer connect to my netgear router -wired
i have one computer wirelessly connected with a Netgear USB wireless reciever
then i got my laptop which is connected via wireless
i have xbox live which i connect to the internet via my laptops wireless connection, this can be done with any pc or laptop aswell
    what you do is
wireless networks - where it showws any detected networks
change advanced options - on the side
    advanced tab
then allow other computers to use this computers internet connection
    simple as
all you do is plug in your other pc or whatever

  • Satellite L750 - Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Internet connection issue

I purchased a Toshiba Satellite L750 and a Linksys/Cisco Modem Router WAG120N at the beginning of June and have had trouble ever since connecting to the internet.
I have a desktop PC hard wired to the modem and don't have any problems accessing the internet. The laptops wireless internet connection keeps either dropping it or not displaying a webpage (even though it says it is connected). It will only run efficiently when connected by ethernet cable directly to the modem. Linksys have told me they believe the Atheros is not compatible with the modem and to contact Toshiba and ask them for the latest download to update the driver adaptor. I am currently running the one listed in the heading.
Can anyone help? I don't know much about these things. Thank you.

    Hi Lisa C,
Do you have these issues on preinstalled Windows 7 version from Toshiba or on your own Windows installation?
Does it happen in eco mode or maximum performance too?
This issue could be related to power saving function of your WLAN card. In Windows power management you can disable the WLAN power saving function. You have to set it to maximum performance for every power profile.
Furthermore a WLAN driver update is always recommendable. You can download the latest version on Toshiba WLAN portal:

  • Flash Player download keeps failing with lost connection and then gives up.  satellite Internet connection

    Win XP. Firefox 34.0.5 (latest)
The Flash  Player download keeps failing with lost connection and then gives up.I am on a  satellite Internet connection.
It seems to be extremely slow even when loading the installer which is only 1MB. Then when I run the installer and it starts to download the installation there are frequent messages about losing the connection and then finally gives up.
I have had problems with other software failing when I am on a satellite link. This is most likely because of the huge latency which may be taken as a link failure. Ping times are typically 800ms but can be 2000ms sometimes!

    Hello,
The online shim installer, which you are using actually downloads and installs Flash Player silently in the background.  If your satelite connection is experiencing latency issues it could result in the failure to download.  Please try the full installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page, in the 'Still having problems' section.

  • Re: Satellite 1670 - Back to 98SE - Internet connection problems

I have been using W2K on my 1670 for sometime, but it was slowish, so I decided to put in the recovery disks and get 98SE back.
As the laptop is quite old and does not have ethernet as hardware, I also installed a PC Line Ethernet Card Bus, and this has been properly installed in device manager.
Have upgraded to IE6, been through the Internet connection wizard, LAN settings, automatic proxy server etc.. However, the IP address is still zero. I can't adjust the ethernet connection and there are options to adjust dial up, but as I'm not using this this may be futile.
Is there a known problem here? I had no problem with my Portege 4000 which had ethernet installed as part of its hardware.

After 10 years Microsoft haven't produced an alternative for low RAM systems made for 98 - ME: terrible, 2000: OK, but too slow for this particular laptop, XP: not viable although I've seen many people put this on computers made for 98- not good, Vista: no comment.
This is only a spare system anyway and not my main laptop.
Yep- I am connected to broadband router. There's no firewall. I got IP address information from a linux live cd on the same system and tried to assign manually last night but it didn't work.

  • Re: Satellite C660-115 Very strange Wifi problems!

I've been busy solving a wireless problem on a C660-115, still without success.
    Satellite C660-115
    Windows 7 - 64Bits
    The case:
    - Laptop is connected to the power supply: Wifi works fine, no problems
    - Laptop disconnected from power supply: Wifi won't work, although there sometimes seems to be a connection with the access point/wifi router.
    No internet/network communication
    - Laptop connected to the power supply --> wifi works, unplugging the power supply --> after a 1/2 minute or so, no internet connection...
I tried to find a new driver, but we already use the latest version.
Then i switched off the "This computer may switch of this device to save energy" function, without succes.
    Ideas anyone?

I had same problem with C660 running windows 7 losing internet access but not network connection whilst using battery power, but no problems when connected to mains power.
Solution; Change power plan to high performance. I found this sovlved the problem instantly.

  • Satellite C660-13R - Wireless and Ethernet do not work after format

    Hello there,
I just formatted my laptop and I only get Internet connection with a usb wireless antenna...
Neither ethernet, nor wireless seem to work. Before the format it worked fine.
    Here is the product
    http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/satellite-c660-13r/
    Please help with a solution...
Should I consider death of the adapter and stop trying?

Ok you have formatted your laptop but we don't know what have you installed and which OS version do you use.
As I can see in notebook specification your notebook was delivered with preinstalled Windows 7. This original version (recovery image) contains all necessary drivers and every hardware component is installed and configured properly so everything should work well.
It is very important to know what have you installed and what is teh status of communication devices like LAN and WLAN cards. If both devices are installed properly LAN should work without any limitation but WLAN card must be enabled and I don't see the reason why you should not be able to connect your machine using WLAN connection.
If possible post some detailed info about preinstalled OS version and hardware status.
