Satellite C660-23M: Need Win 7 64bit GPU drivers

My C660-23M arrived with GPU drivers which weren't working.
This meant I couldn't run Java applications for example Minecraft, as it would crash and give me the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error in the file "aticfx32.dll" or "aticfx64.dll".
My graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 3000 and I did some troubleshooting on Intel's website, which said that my driver had errors, but even though it is an Intel driver, they couldn't supply me with another one, and I had to contact Toshiba for it.
I went on the Support section of Toshiba's website and downloaded the correct Intel Display driver for my model (I couldn't find GPU anywhere), which installed correctly, but I still cannot run Java applications and now Photoshop is saying that it encountered problems with the GPU driver.
Does anyone know where I can find the GPU driver for my system?
Again: Windows 7 (x64) Toshiba C660-23M
Thanks!

Hi
On the Toshiba European driver page you can find the display drivers for Win XP and Win 7 32bit and 64bit.

  • Satellite C660-23M - graphic driver update issue

New to this forum so dont know if this problem has been covered.
Have installed Photoshop elements 11 and premier elements 11.
The elements program runs ok but cannot get get premier elements to open new project. Adobe advised trying to update drivers which I have tried without success.
When running driver update on laptop it says latest driver installed. 8.15.10.2189
On checking Toshiba update site it shows later version 8.15.10.2353.
Have downloaded this ,I then unzipped it and it says will start automatic installation when finished but nothing happens.
Have tried several times but once unzipped it will not install.
Any help would be appreciated and infact confirmation of latest driver.

Just done a direct x scan and this is an extract of results.

  • Satellite C660-1TN. Win XP Pro SP3. Driver of video card GF 315M

Laptop Satellite C660-1TN. Under the corporate standard it is necessary to work in Windows XP Pro SP3. The driver of video card NVIDIA GeForce 315M isn't established. Thanks

Your corporate standards are pretty old. It should be time for corporate update to new standards. ;)
Anyway, newest notebook models are not supported for old operating systems and newest notebook models are designed for newest operating system. Newest notebook models have newest hardware also designed for newest OS.
Problem is not Toshiba or WXP support. As far as I know even Microsoft doesnt support WXP anymore.
Check if NVIDIA supports WXP for GeForce 315M.

  • Satellite L50-B-1XF - Win 7 64bit drivers and software

    Hello,
as I can't find anything about my model - Satellite L50-B-1XF (PSKTUE-04C00WGR) I will try it here...
I bought two of these (one for me, one for my wife) with Win8.1 installed.
Well... no need to say that this is one of the worst OS I ever seen and since Tru64 Unix and VMS I have seen many.
Anyway. I downgraded to Win7 Professional SP1 64Bit - complete re-installed all updates installed, etc.
Now I have the problem that I can not find anything about the camera.
Is there any support page here where I can download the appropriate Win764Bit drivers specially for this model?
    Help here is very appreciated!

    Hi Stuart
The situation is pretty simply and clear, so I'm really wondering you were not able to find drivers, tools and utilities for your notebook model.
For European notebooks you can download all stuff on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
This is European support page for drivers download. I found your model there and your notebook model is fully supported for Win7 64bit so you can find all drivers, tools and utilities there.
Please check it out and if there is some problem with installation let us know

  • Satellite C660-23M - driver causing crash when program starts

I have loaded a CAD program on my new 64bit laptop, the program will start then stops and windows closes it. In the crash reports the modules ntddll.dll and aticfx.dll both seem involved. Could there be some conflict, can I update a driver somehow?
I have seen a report on a gaming website that the aticfx.dll isa the problen on the c660 range.
Please help or the machine goes back to the shop.
PS I have tried running in compatibility mode and disabling antivirus but the problem is unchanged
    Regards Ian

    Hi
I think the CAD application is not fully compatible with the preinstalled graphic card driver.
The ntddll.dll files is part of the windows system and aticfx.dll file seems to be a part of the graphic card driver and therefore I think that you would need to use another graphic card driver.
The notebook seems to support an Intel HM55 HD graphic card. Try to update the driver using the newest version from the Intel page.

  • Satellite U500-17E - Need Windows 7 64bit recovery disc

    HI,
I am looking for someone who is able to copy for me *Windows 7 64bit Home Premium recovery disc from partition for Toshiba Satellite U500-17E* (Czech Language - or English). I resized partition and deleted windows 7 recovery disc and now I need it for reinstall due to disc problems. I don't want buy copy because I bought toshiba satellite with windows 7 and why pay twice for same thing.
Please let me know if you are able to copy recovery disc for me and put it to some web page which I can download it from. You can make a password to prevent abuse.
I can give you a small donation over paypal.
    Martin

It is not understandable for me why you have ignored Toshibas reminder about recovery DVD creation but it is definitely your mistake and now you have this stupid problem.
Maybe somebody can help you with this but you should leave your e-mail address here.
By the way: if you are ready to give some donation then you can also pay this 30 euro and order original disc for your notebook model.
If you will change your mind here is address for recovery disc order - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite Pro S300-121: Win 7 64bit installation: yes or no

    i have win7 32bit on my Satellite Pro S300-121.
I have 4gb of ram installed.
Should i install the 64bit version or will i not notice any difference in speed?
I know i have to do a clean install but is it worth it for the S300-121 any pros and cons either way, your thoughts

    > Should i install the 64bit version or will i not notice any difference in speed?
Generally speaking yes but before you do anything check Toshiba download page at first and be sure Win7 64bit is supported for your notebook model.
If not than leave it. There is no sense to use non-supported OS without right drivers and Toshiba specific tools and utilities.
In the past many people have had such problems.

  • Satellite L350-16X: Need Win XP graphic driver

I have remove windows Vista and I have installed windows XP Pro on my laptop.
My display does not run properly...
I need drivers for display for xp but Intel download site provide to me only incorrect version of drivers.
Can you provide me the correct drivers for Toshiba?....
    plz help me
I look forward for your reply

To be honest I wonder why you have posted this question.
I mean all the Toshiba XP drivers for this Satellite L350 PSLD8E are published on the Toshiba European driver page.
Also the Intel driver is available.
So to be honest your question is not understandable for me!

  • Satellite C660-10F - Need Windows XP 32bit LAN driver

    Hi there,
I want to backup my C660-10F harddisk to a network storage using Ghost 15 Recovery Disk CD. Therefore I have to configure the bootable Recovery Disk CD with the C660-10F LAN driver for XP 32bit to get access to the network when booting from this CD. When I'm using the lan-en-20101105155404.zip file with the XP drivers from the Toshiba download page I get the error message
Cannot copy a 64-bit hardware device driver to a 32-bit Srd image. One or more binary files listed in ... does not match the target SRD platform
It seems that the XP drivers contain partly 64-bit files. Same problem when using the original Realtek drivers for PCIe FE Family Controller! Where can I get functioning 32-bit XP drivers for the LAN controller of the C660-10F?
    Thanks,
    Franz

    Hi there,
both driver same error, no solution at symantec support, but I found a solution by myself:
The XP nic drivers from toshiba and realtek consists of one netrtle.inf file and 3 files for 32 bit and another 3 files for 64 bit. Either the netrtle.inf file has a problem or symantec ghost 15 uses the 64 bit files instead of the 32 bit ones. So I copied all 3 32 bit files over the 64 bit ones and it's running!!!
    Thank you guys
    Franz

  • Satellite U400-183 - Need Recovery DVD and AHCI drivers

    Hi there,
I tried to reinstall Win Vista Home Premium to my Satellite U400-183. I used a Win OS DVD that came with my other Notebook from an other manufacture and the Key which came with my Toshiba notebook. Everything worked just fine but in certain areas of Windows still are some specific settings from the other manufacture. Now is there a possibility to get a Windows Vista DVD from Toshiba?
Another question is where I can get the AHCI drivers. There is only a exe file on the support site which i can't use while installing Windows. There have to be these .sys files but I can't find them on the Toshiba site, so I had to install Windows in compatibility mode.
    THX in advance!
PS: Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Germany...

    Hi!
A new recovery DVD you can get from your local ASP (authorized service provider).
Or you order a DVD from Toshiba directly:
    https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
The AHCI drivers or lets say Intel Storage Manager you can download from the Toshiba website as you already said.
The .exe file you must extract to use it during the installation but with the recovery disk you dont need them.
Please read the readme file in from the Storage Manager, there is an example how to extract it. Use he command line
    For example: -A -A -PC:\<path>

  • Satellite C660-1ZM Win 7 64bit: mousepad and USB - "code 52" driver error

    Hello,
Having recently set up a new Satellite C660-1ZM running Windows 7 64bit (upgraded from Home Premium to Ultimate) for a friend, the mousepad and USB ports have suddenly stopped working. The drivers show an exclamation mark against them and the error is "code 52" which is related to driver signing. Windows doesn't seem to recognise the driver signatures for the published drivers that came on the machine's pre-installed disc, so the devices don't work. I've updated the drivers (Intel chipset [which includes USB]; Synaptics touchpad) to the latest ones publised on the Toshiba web site - and we have the same problem.
Pressing F8 on boot allows you to select "disable checking of driver signing" in the WIndows 7 boot options, which then enables the drivers and all is well, until you reboot - at which point you have to hit F8 again.
I think that one of the many recent Windows updates has somehow messed things up, but we can't easily prove that. The machine worked fine for a week or so, then the mousepad suddenly quit working around 8th August 2012.
    1) Are there valid signed drivers that pass whatever checks Microsoft impose on driver signing, including whatever checks they've potentially just imposed via some recently inflicted update?
    2) Does anyone know exactly how to disable the checking of driver signing permanently, so that a reboot will not require the F8 keypress and so on?
Uninstalling the mousepad driver and rebooting gives the basic mouse functionality, without the Synaptics cleverness. However, the USB ports still don't work because their driver doesn't load, so an external mouse doesn't work.
It's an infernal nusiance. Driving the system off the keyboard to uninstall drivers etc. is not much fun.
    Cheers, Colin.

    Hi
Did you receive the error that windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device? Usually this means the error code 52
Since the USB drivers are parts of the Windows OS, I dont think that this could be an signature issue I think some files are damaged.
Try to uninstalling/reinstalling the driver and deleting the device and its drivers from device manager before reinstalling.
Usually this should help, if not, well try to repair the system.
Power up the unit and press F8. Then choose Repair my Computer.
Now choose the first option which would help to repair the system.

  • Re: Satellite C660-1D7 - Installing latest Intel display driver

    Hi
I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-1D7 running Windows 7 64bit Home Premium with Intel Core i3 [email protected] GHz CPU and 4GB RAM. I use my laptop a lot for graphics etc. with Adobe CS5 and Corel Paint shop Photo Pro x3 etc.
After only 2 months I got an HDD alert saying it would fail soon. So under warranty 2 weeks ago Toshiba arranged for an authorized dealer to collect and replace the HDD which they did. Ever since then I cannot use my graphics software. Now, I remember when I first got my laptop I had the same problem and it was to do with my graphics/video card and OpenGL. Toshiba site and my own laptop kept saying that all drivers were up to date. But when I went on Intel site I found that Intel HD Graphics was not up to date. As soon as I updated I was able to use all my graphics programs.
The drivers installed without any problems at all. This time, although I gave a recovery disk to the repair dealer, when my graphics software was not working. I went to Intel site and once again there are more up to date drivers available. However, when I try to install them it says that I now have modified drivers from the laptop manufacturer and I must go to the Toshiba site. Either way, the drivers I need are not on the Toshiba site and I have tried every way possible I think to install the ones I want.
    Please help!
The programs do open when I click e.g. Paint shop pro x3 but when I go to save a photo or edit it hangs, and 'not responds' and I must use Task Manager to end process. I need the same drivers that I had on my laptop before the HDD was replaced but cant get them from Intel as Toshiba seems to have opted out of updates.
All help welcome! Many thanks in advance. John Scott

    Hi John,
The problem is that only Toshiba drivers are pretested on your system. Installing other drivers happens on your own risk because they are not tested by Toshiba.
Anyway, just download the drivers on Intel website. If setup.exe file shows you an error message about not compatible drivers install them manually (I know this message from my notebook). Therefore navigate to device manager > right click on graphic card > update driver. Then choose the advanced installation where you can choose the driver and directory yourself. Now you are able to install this driver :)

  • Re: Win XP drivers for Satellite C660 needed

    cheers toshiba community,
first off this notebook is my first contact with toshiba. browsing the site/forum is a pain!
Reminds me of browsing via isdn times...
As you might guess i dont like win 7 very much, maybe because i dont understand why it is that uncomfortable and needs to garbage the hd that much.
Its stable and working but doesnt satisfy me when it comes to customization and transparency.
So im about to replace it with win xp (or archlinux).
Before starting having the needed drivers is essential and that's where im stuck right now.
One could hope the xp internal drivers will budge or make sure the needed packages are already there. definitely i prefer the 2nd.
Link: [toshiba download center search|http://www.pictureupload.de/originals/pictures/100112101116_Treiber_herunterladen_-_Toshiba.png] came up with 4 results, *only network drivers are officially available for win xp*...
    graphics driver aint a problem.
*the question is where to get the others?* webcam, audio, touchpad, etc
*will xp standard drivers offer basic functionality?*
*or is there a basic 'source' on this forum im not aware of?*
*or maybe theres a toshiba app dealing with that problem?*
*or even worse doesnt toshiba provide builds for xp?*
i wont believe toshiba forces to use win7.
Any infos/sources would be helpful and are greatly appreciated!
Any complaints on prefering xp over win7 are off topic and subjective.
Btw it seems to be a important needed info: recovery medias were created

    Hi
I visited the Toshiba European driver page and was able to find the Win XP drivers for the Satellite C660 as you can see on the screenshot.
    <img src='http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/3808/captureqbo.png' border='0' width=530px/>
Unfortunately its not a driver package so you will need to download the single drivers step by step

Made mistake on new install, Installed 64bit win7 on my new satellite L640 but need 32 bit version how to re install please, anyone

    Hello
Have you installed the 64bit version from Toshiba recovery disk?
As Paolo wrote you should check if you are able to install the 32bit version if you start the HDD recovery feature.
If not you need the Toshiba recovery disk I think Did you create it?
