Satellite C660d-14G: network controller is not installed

Hi.
I installed windows 7 on my toshiba,
I have problem with the wireless driver.
I downloaded all availible drivers on the site, but there is no change.
In the device manager write that the network controller is not installed.

Hi
> network controller is not installed.
Network controller could be Lan card or Wlan card.
Are you sure that you need to install the Wlan driver?
As far as I know the notebook has been equipped with the Atheros AR9285 802.11bgn Wlan card.
The LAN card is 10/100 Base-TX Realtek 8105E-GR
By the way: The latest Wlan drivers can be downloaded here:

  • Network Controller no being installed

I have recently installed WinXP on an HP Mini 110-3627TU, and have found that the network controller won't install.
I believe the controller to be Broadcom 802.11 b/g/n related.
Download sp46171.exe from the HP website for the HP Mini model above doesn't seem to work.
Any help in resolving this matter would be appreciated.

    Hi:
You are correct...You have the Broadcom WLAN card with the 4313 chip.
Try this XP driver for it:

  • Network Utility missing / not installed??

I've recently purchased a MacBook Pro and have just noticed the network utility is not installed in the utility folder where it was on my previous PowerBook.
I'm was running Tiger on the PowerBook and the network utility was installed, can't understand why it isn't installed on the MacBook Pro.
    Any ideas

Hi optiman, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I was just about to direct you to the great instructions by Kappy that Limnos already pointed to... thanks Limnos!
Though for safety, whenever something mysterious is missing, I think it would pay to first do this...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), & use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, reboot once more.

  • Network controller is not recognized on Satellite A100 under Windows XP

    Hi all!
I have purchased a Satellite A100 PSAAR and I have performed a clean install of Windows XP on it. I have installed all the drivers in the correct order(downloaded them from the support page) but I still have one problem:
In the device manager the ethernet controller and the network controller show up with a yellow exclamation mark and they are not recognized. I downloaded the lan driver and I got it to recognize the ethernet controller. However no matter how hard I tried, I cannot find the suitable driver for the NETWORK CONTROLLER which still shows up in the device manager in yellow color.
I could really use any help here...Thank you in advance.

Please note that Wireless Lan card is placed under the Network adapters too!!!
If you have installed the LAN (Ethernet) driver and the card was installed you should also check if a WLan card driver is needed!!!!
    By the way:
If the LAN card was not recognized try this Intel Lan driver:

  • Ethernet controller driver not installing after Windows Server 2008 installation on Cisco UCS blade

I am using MDT 2010 to deploy Windows Server 2008 to a Cisco UCS B200 blade. The OS and hotfixes install with no problem. The system reboots and attempts to connect to the deployment share to continue with the task sequence and I receive an error stating
"A connection to the deployment share could not be made. The following networking device did not have a driver installed. PCI\VEN_1137&DEV_0043&SUBSYS_00481137&REV_A2"
The driver in question is the driver for the Ethernet controller for the UCS blade. More specifically, it is the network driver for the Palo card in the UCS Chassis. When I Ignore or Abort the install, I am able to manually install the driver and restart the
task sequence. The build then completes successfully with no further issue. I just cannot seem to automate the driver install. Has anyone dealt with this type of issue?

Vik and stealthfield - thank you for your responses.
I was preparing a script to manually move the driver into the c:\windows\inf location when I had to stop to create a new task sequence for a different build. It was while building this task sequence that I found the soulution to the problem.
In the Post Install -> Inject Drivers step of the Task Sequence, I noticed that it was executing a command of type "Inject Drivers" with a selection profile of "All Drivers" and "Install only matching drivers
    from the selection profile" selected.
I changed this to run a command of type "Run Command Line" and specified that it execute "%Scriptroot%\ZTIdrivers.wsf". I noticed that this was selected in one of my other builds that was working properly, so I thought I'd
give it a try. - IT WORKED.
So to sum up, the solution was to change the type of command being executed in the "Post Install -> Inject Drivers" step of the task sequence. After this change, the machine came up and continued the task sequence with no further issues.
Thanks again for the responses - They were helpful and I do appreciate it.

  • Ethernet Controller - Driver not installed - Compaq Presario

Hello, I am new here so be gentle
I have just bought second hand a Compaq Presario 6240EA, motherboard is a Compaq 07D0h.
In the hardware - device manager, it shows 'Other devices' - Ethernet Controller, with a large yellow question mark and exclamation mark.
Details in properties show the following: drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_01C3&SUBSYS_00A80E11&REV_C2\3&13C0B0C5&0&20
I have search the HP and Compaq websites for driver downloads and have downloaded all the nVidia drivers available on the Compaq site, none of which improve the situation.
Would there be somewhere else to look, I am at my wits end with this, any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you in anticipation.

Please start your own thread rather than opening old ones back up. Also provide your full model number particularly when asking about hardware function which may involve drivers. We have to know precisely what hardware we are dealing with. Like the posts above, you may want to include the hardware id of the affected device.

I am using a notebook (proBook 4530s), with Windows 7, 64-bit,  and in the device manager I get a yellow exclamation mark in Network controller even after downloading and installing the respective driver Atheros / Realtek Wireless LAN Driver(s). • Juniper networks VPN: Network Connect will not install under Snow Leopard

Created different thread based on the topics from http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2130935.
With new install of Snow Leopard i get the following when trying to log into SSL VPN "Could not launch. Please restart the web browser and try again"
can not do the workarounds from the above thread since none of the directories exist. Has anyone found a fix for this?

I ran into this too (made matters worse by cleaning out the old juniper install). What I understand clearly now, which other discussions with all the happiness from people saying they fixed it seem to miss completely: Juniper only works if you installed it prior to upgrading 10.6. If you did not, you are possibly hosed.
Now, I was hosed, but I found a workaround. Find a stand-alone installer .dmg out there. As of a couple days ago it was there. I'm sure it still is. Google it. NetworkConnect.dmg.
It is version 6.0.0. It installs correctly. My company runs 6.4.0, which means the first time you open NetworkConnect after installing it prompts you to upgrade. The upgrade worked fine, so long as I was running as root.
Which brings me to my original problem which I've not seen anyone else complain about, which has me worried: after installing, NC only actually connects and functions when I run as root. I'm not talking about su - root or using sudo, I mean having to graphically switch users and log into the computer as the root user (after enabling it...using the scenableroot I think, something like that).
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I can launch Network Connect as my real user but it immediately fails with a software error. 'ncproxyd.error: Failed to gain root privileges'. Driving me batty.

  • Satellite C660D-155 - Windows 7 is not opening

I can't get the laptop to open, as I'm getting an error message that a USB or storage device was removed while the laptop was still running. it appears that a Internet Dongle was removed before shut-down. I'm getting an error message 0xc00000e9 I/O. The system suggests System Repair or Start normally, but each one that I try brings me back to the same error report.
I contacted Technical Support & they gave me good info but suggest I do a back-up or save first! I don't know how I can do this, as I can't open the system to create a back-up.
I can't find my original recovery disk, but I do have a few back-ups that I created some months ago.
Can anyone suggest how I move on, as I don't want to lose all of the files on my system.
    Many thanks in advance
    Bren

    Hi
If the procedure described by Terention does not help you, you need to install the system from scratch.
You said you created some backups Did you use the Windows internal backup & restore option?
In such case you could get the data using these backups after new OS installation.
If you want to set the system back to factory settings, you will need the Toshiba recovery disk. You can order the disk from Arvato if you dont have such disk.
The links to Arvato have been posted a lot of time here in the recovery product forum

  • Re: New Satellite C660-2EL - Windows 7 will not install

Brand new, out of the box machine. It says "Starting Windows". It prompts me for the language. I select English. Click 'Next'. Please choose language of operating system to install. I choose 'English (Windows Win 7)'. Click 'Next'. Then I get
    HDD 1 - DISK 0
    HDD 2 - DISK 1
A subdirectory or file V:\HDDRecovery\SWImg already exists.
A duplicate file name exists, or the file
    cannot be found
ERROR: Could ot move "V\_IMG\15238XSP*.swm" to "V:\HDDRecovery\SWImg"!
    press and key to continue.
When I press a key to continue it just gives me awhite screen with Toshiba written in bottom right hand corner.
I have tried to start windows and press F8 so I can go back to factory settings, but it doesn't offer me a restore option. Please can anyone help ?

Im afraid something is screwed up. I recommend you to bring it back to your local dealer and ask for replacement.
As far as I know such errors and issues cannot be fixed by users.

  • Network Controller for Lenovo N100 3000 0768-EJU running XP PRO

I am sorry to bug people with this but I am SO frustrated with this.  I have tried everything I can including what I think to have been to load all drivers from the support site.  I cannot get my networking to work and keep getting the message that the network controller is not installed.  I cannot find the drivers to satisfy this thing and get my networking going.  Can someone possibly tell me exactly what to do to solve this and show me the exact driver I need.
    I sure would appreciate it!
Thanks in advance for being there to help me!

Hi.  I'm having the same problem with mine - only mine is an 0768 -4ju.  I installed ubuntu 10.4, so that it double boots and am able to access the wireless without a problem as long as I am in ubuntu.  but windows refuses to recognize many of my drivers that it needs,  even though i have done everything to install them.
lenovo wanted the power management app installed to test my battery, which it now says is not installed - go figure.
I can give you the links and info on how to do it.
I basically installed it within windows to get it to work.
    Hope this helps.
