Satellite C850-B820 turns off when I take off my power cable

I bought laptop Satellite C850-B820 2 months ago, usage on it normal, 2-3 hours daily, i was working on it without the power plugged in, the battery status was 50% so i plugged in to recharge, suddenly electricity went off and came back for 1 seconds, after a while i took of the power cable and suddenly it cut off, re plugged it again and checked the battery status its fully recharged 100%, anyone have idea what wrong with it?
Might the cut of electricity effected the battery or the mother board?

In my opinion there are two possible reasons why the unit shuts OFF when the AC adaptor is disconnected.
1) the battery malfunctions and the battery charging status is wrong
2) the motherboard power supply electronic is faulty. Such electronic controls the notebooks power supply
I think you should check if new battery would helps to solve your problem.
But you said that the notebook is not very old, about 2 months old and therefore the warranty should be still valid.
In this case you should not try to resolve this yourself but should contact the service in your country in order to check the unit. It should be definitely warranty covered

Toshiba 32RV635D does not power off when computer shuts off

Hello,
I've inherited a Toshiba 32RV635D. I have a linux-based PVR (Mythtv) hooked up to the TV via HDMI, plugged into a Nvidia GT610.
With my previous TV, a cheap Vistron LCD panel, it would go into standby when the PC hibernated, and would power-on when the PC came back on.
This required no configuration from me, it just did it. The Toshiba TV doesn't.
With this Toshiba TV, when the PVR powers down the TV screen goes blank but is actually still on - the power led remains green.
Same with the other way round - if I put the TV in standby and power-up the PVR, the TV doesn't respond and I have to manually bring it out of standby.
I've updated the firmware and this hasn't changed anything, and I also can't find anything related to power management within the TVs menus. I've even tried just pulling the HDMI cable from the back of the TV so it has no physical active inputs, and it still doesn't drop to standby.
The Amazon page for the TV mentions power management features, and from what I understand it should behave in the way I was expecting it to.
I've read a lot about HDMI-CEC, but to use this with my existing kit I would need to buy a USB-CEC adapter, and that seems a bit odd seeing as my previous cheap-as-chips TV just did this...
Also, the various utilities within linux would suggest it thinks its making the right noises - running 'xset q' when the computer is idle tells me that 'Monitor is off' when actually it's not.
Any clues?

Incidentally, I have the model 32RL900A, and find that a PVR plugged into the SCART socket claims the screen whenever it turns on while the TV is tuned to a FTA (Free To Air) channel, and then "hands back" the screen when it (the PVR) switches off, and this, I found out, is a characteristic of the SCART system.
I don't know if this information is useful to you, but hope it helps.

I understand you want to have the printer to shut off when you turn the computer off.
Well I checked out the manual for your printer and I didn't see the option listed there, so I consulted with a printer expert and they explained to me this printer doesn't have that function. So you would have to manually shut it off with power button the way you’re doing it now.

Satellite U400 wont turn on & when on wont come back from sleep mode

I have a Satellite U400 and its a year and a few months old.
In the last little bit it has been acting up, and it started with when the computer goes to sleep and goes to the black blank screen it will not come back from that.
The only way to do anything is hold in the power key till it turns off and then turning it back on. This brings me to the warning screen I have turned my computer off incorrectly. It has been doings this for a few weeks and started randomly out of the blue.
Then just today it wouldnt turn on at all, I was pressing the power key and the key itself would light up, and on the bottom right hand side the little lights would light up but wouldnt turn on, I kept pressing it over and over and over again and finally it did turn on. Once on I only used it for a few mins before turning off again and then would do the same thing, I kept pressing the bottom till it turned on. Its been on now and hasnt turned off again.
Not to log ago I had to reformat my computer due to me forgeting my password and had locked myself out of the computer. About a week after that is when the issues started. I am not all that computer smart, to be honest, I do understand something things, I can follow step by step to do something.
I really dont want to pay to have it fix I want to just do it myself and soon as its in great shape and never had any issues before.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be, or why it could be?
I am thinking about reformatting again as I am worried that didnt work out right the 1st time or something.
Or if this is something that needs to be repaired does anyone have a clue on the cost of it?

sounds like a serious problem to me.
try the following: take out battery, cd-rom, hdd and try again.
if it starts up without this components - you got lucky!
this means it probably a software issue (but i dont think so - sorry)
do you see the toshiba logo / bios messages? no - the you are in trouble.
this strange behaviour could depend on many things: defektive components like ram or grafics... or (badest thing) the mainboard...
if you have still warranty on it you should go to a servicepartner having the system checked.

Caps lock Light stays turns on when computer is off

It is not a real problem in the sense that is does not hinder me in my computer use, but it is something strange.
When a turn the computer off, the caps lock light on my keyboard turns on, only to turn off after I strat my computer.

You might consider zapping your PRAM.

Satellite A300 cannot turn on when AC adaptor connected

Hi,
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite A300 when the notebook is connected to power adapter I have no possibility to turn it on, it goes only 2-3 sec. on an after it goes down.
When Toshiba is turned on with the battery supply and I tried to connect power adapter it goes also down.
I have no problems with charging itself but only with operating with power adapter.
Please help me what can I do with this issue, does anybody has similar problem?

For me it sounds like a hardware malfunction of the mainboard if the AC/DC adaptor is connected and notebook is turned on
Im not sure but the best way would be if you go to the nearest authorized service provider with the AC/DC adaptor. The technicians can check your notebook and exchange the mainboard if its really necessary. The guys are very friendly and useful!

Instead of going to sleep macbook turns off when it runs out of power

Sometimes (not all the time-- I'd estimate 50% of the time) when I am running my macbook from the battery, and I run out of power, my computer shuts itself off instead of going to sleep.
B/c I use my macbook a lot from the battery to write etc., the shutting off is getting annoying.
Has anyone else had this happen, or know what I can do about it?
I am running the most updated version of 10.5.1

Why thoes my ipod trun off when i take it off the charger?

I Havent Used my ipod in like 3 months, before i stoped using it , ti was working fine. Now it wont stay on unless its pluged on to the charger. I leat it charge all night and still it wont stay on HELPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How long have you left the Shuffle to charge? It can take up to 30 minutes for the iPod to show any signs of life after charging and in some cases still requries a hard reset to bring it back to life. See this article for instructions on resetting your iPod Shuffle.

I am confused. Time Machine is software, did you mean Time Capsule?

My Iphone 4s is 2 years and 3 months old. the battery drains very quickly, sometimes turning off once it reaches 40% if I open an app or say the camera.
I charge it more than twice a day now as the battery life is so poor.
Also, when I take a photo, the phot sometimes shows in the album, but if I click on it, it shows up as a white screen and I cannot send the photo either as the recipient gets a blank screen.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue persists, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Seems like there is some physical damage causing an intermittent issue of the iPhone being unable to power on.
You could try a reset:
- hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time
- the iphone will turn off(keep holding) then when the Apple logo appears release both buttons
If the reset fails I would suggest next time it powers on to try and back it up to either iTunes/iCloud then you can try a restore to factory settings or just back up and book an appointment at an Apple Store to have the iPhone evaluated.
