Satellite c855 unable to order recovery disk

When i try to order the recovery disks from toshiba, i enter my serial number then it asks for the last 4 of my part number.  My serial number is xxxxxxxxx.  The first part of the part number is prefilled as PSC0YU-00.  My part number is PSCBLU-066003.  Entering the last four of my part number causes a mismatch.  What's going on?  How can I order the media?
BTW, when i tried the normal restore, i get an error message that the partition is missing.

  • Qosmio G20- 121E - unable to order Recovery disk

    Hi,
I had accidently deleted the Qosmio player partition in my hard disk and now i am unable to install windows on my disk.
When I try to install windows it shows a blue screen with some memory location address and etc
I think the disk partition table is corrupted and i dont have recovery cd with me.
When i try this link [https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx|https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx] it give me a message like this
*For your device no recovery medium can be ordered, because it comes either not from the region of Toshiba Europe, or it is too old for this service.*
Please help me to recover my laptop or please give me a valid link to download the recovery CD.
    Model No: Qosmio G20- 121E
    With regards ABHI.

Well, as far as I know G20 supports RAID and therefore you will have to install the RAID driver in order to be able to recognize the HDD...
The RAID driver can be downloaded from the Toshiba European driver page.
Download it, unzip the package and use the freetool called nLite to include the files into the Win XP OS.
The nLite will create a new XP disk together with the needed RAID drivers.
PS; if you need more details how to use nLite then google simple... there are a lot of websites regarding this theme!

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC unable to boot recovery disk

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC unable to boot recovery disk.  First when I power on my notebook it goes straight to the launch recovery or launch Windows normally screen.  When I choose start windows normally, it goes to the window screen and freeze.  When I try to launch the start-up with windows 7 start-up disk, the computer will not load the files.  When I tried to complete a hard drive test, it failed with a failure ID 9UXNXA-55E65V-XD003G-60XR03.
I'm looking for a solution, can someone help?

    Hi:
It sounds like you need to purchase a new hard drive for your notebook, and reinstall the operating system with your recovery disks.
When a HDD fails a diagnostic test, it normally means it is done for.

  • Need to order recovery disks for g7-1320dx

I created a usb recovery for my g7-1320dx. It seems this computer, however, can't boot from a usb. Where can I order recovery disks?
    --TIA

    Hi,
You can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs using the link below.
    Order HP Recovery Discs.
However your notebook should be able to boot from usb flash drive - unless you've already done so, try the following
    Shut down the notebook.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu.
Insert the Recovery USB into a USB 2.0 port.
Select Boot options ( f9 ) and see if the usb drive is now detected - if it is, use the arrow keys to select it and hit enter.

  • Unable to make recovery disk on in pavellion g62016 .dat file is missing in recovery drive

unable to make recovery disk on in pavellion g62016 .dat file is missing in recovery drive
can i use the .dat file of another same notebook
what is significance of ,dat file

Hello shail11. I understand that you're having some problems creating a recovery disc. Is this correct?
You can not use another .dat file.  The recovery media is specific to a certain notebook, so using another computer's files will not work.   If you're running into issues making a recovery media you could attempt to perform the recovery from the BIOS. Here is a document which outlines the process.  ALL data not backed up before performing the recovery will be lost.
Let me know if this helps; have a great weekend!

Download a copy of Hiren's Boot at Hirensbootcd.org, there is some really good programs in there, use the disk recovery stuffs like government issue or something. I was just messin around with it on a disk I had formatted previously and it brought up all the files that were on it. It may or may not help with all the problems your having but you will love the software belive me. Good luck.

  • Need to order recovery disks, how can I tell if I need 32 or 64 bit without an OS?

I'm trying to repair someones laptop.  It's a g60 and they dont have recovery disks.  The hard drive has crashed so I can't use windows to find out if i need a 32 or 64 bit version.  HP's website can't determine this by model number, serial or anything and is asking me what version i need when i try to order recovery disks.  It tells me I should use windows to figure this out.  (why would I need to order recovery disks, if windows was still working?????)  Anyway. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Satellite C855-S5194 Windows 8 Recovery OS and software

    Hi,
I just bought a Satellite C855-S5194 with Win8  and already created system recovery disks. Now I bought an Office and installed it through Microsoft website (no disk). I would like to create an image for the case the hard drive is broken and not accessible, which includes both the OS and the Office that I installed.
I read from the User Guide that the system recovery disks can restore the OS and preinstalled software, but how about the software that I bought from MS?
Please let me know if there is any way to recover both OS and software. Thank you in advance!

I am not a computer expert,..
So please pay attention, read things carefully, follow any links, think about it, and don't jump to hasty conclusions. Better to do more reading instead of typing a vague message to me.
I'll be repeating myself now, but I'll try to put more words in..
My No. 1 item explains that Windows 8 contains Windows 7's backup. You can google that and learn all about it. In particular, you'll learn that it enables you to create an image of the entire disk on external media. I'll save you some trouble and give you places to do your reading.
Learn more about system image backup
Back up your programs, system settings, and files
Restore your computer from a system image backup
Notice that when you create a system image of the hard drive, you can restore it either to the existing disk or to a brand new disk.
We create one of these images (with third-party tools) every single day for every computer and retain ten generations. Backup is our most important application.
My No. 2 item talks about a repair disk. That's the one you need when you are restoring to a new hard drive. Since Windows is not running, you need a way to begin the restore process. That's one of the functions of the repair disk.
You'll see a link in the Windows 7 File Recovery area like this.
       Create a system repair disc
My No. 3 item talks about fixing things on your existing drive. Feel free to ignore it if you like. Maybe other viewers will find it of interest. When/if you find that Windows is broken, you'll begin to appreciate the various ways of recovering. Refresh is new in Windows 8.

  • Unable to order recovery cds for used Thinkpad T60p's

I picked up three thinkpad t60p units second hand from my university's surplus auction, but per their policy the hard drives were totally wiped (including all partitions). I have looked up the FRU part numbers (43T8618 & 46V2346) here and wish to purchase the cds & dvds as spare parts. I tried to enter the part numbers here but it said the part could not be found in the database. I then tried calling the phone number on that page (1-800-765-5944), but I kept on getting bumped around to different numbers. I DO NOT wish to pay for a tech support call, I just want to order the parts! In fact I can't call support at all since they require a serial number but I do not have a way to get this information. This is due to the fact that the bios have been password protected but I do not have the bios password (the surplus guys have no clue), the stickers on the bottom having seen better days (serial number is not legible on two and only partially legible on the last), and obviously there is no OS to boot into. The only information I have is the model number (8741-CTO) and the operating system that was on them prior to the wipe (two were xp professional and one was vista ultimate). Anyway, I'm not concerned about trying to get this covered under warranty, as I am prepared to pay for the parts, if only I could actually order them! Please, somebody from lenovo, how the heck do I order these parts?

Yes, I know all about the supervisor password situation. Unfortunately these were part of 1000+ notebooks the surplus depot was auctioning off in lots and the supervisor password situation seems to have be on departmental level and unique to only a small subset of those sold. This is a state institution and, as such, little details like passwords tend to fall through the cracks. Since they were auctioned off and are no longer university property, the records (such as who had them/serial numbers/etc) were removed from the auditing system. I'm not going to return them because I got them for a song. Thus, I am going to be spending the next couple of months using some of my spare time to track down the department they came from using the tried and true method of trial-and-error. In the mean time, I would like to have them operational and having the supervisor password is irrelevant for this, since the system tries to boot from the optical drive and then the hdd. You know, why can't they put the serial number and what not inside the battery bay where it is less likely to come into contact with foreign substances/greasy hands/sharp surfaces? But more importantly, why is it such a hassle to order these disks? I mean, I have had to order restore disks in the past from HP and it is easy as pie. I just place my order with the parts system online, no serial numbers, no calls to tech support, or any other nonsense needed. Seriously, it isn't like these will work on a non-Lenovo system since you still need a valid key/slic in the system's eeprom. The search continues, but I think I will go the e-bay route for the XP Pro disks. I still need the Vista Ultimate recovery disks, however.

  • How to reboot Satellite 5200-801 without using Recovery disk?

    Hi,
I haven't used my Satellite 5200-801 for a while and now it won't start. This is what I get on the black screen:
    Intel Boot Agent Version 4.1.04
    Copyright 1997-2002, Intel Corporation
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent.
    Insert system disk in drive.
Press any key when tready .
I have the product recovery disk, but that will wipe all existing data and rebuild. Is there a way to start my PC without the use of recovery disk?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Silas & radyRoberts,
Tried to access BIOS, but seem to have no luck. When I try to enter it during boot up, I get a black screen with the following:
Set default value? (Y/N) BIOS v1.20 (in right upper corner)
It doesn't matter if I press "Y" on "N" the result is the same, which is the original screen I already described.
I also tried the Microsoft Installation disk, but nothing happened with that either. It reads the CD, but on the screen nothing but the original message appears and even that after a reboot with the CD in. If I put it in when the PC is working and "press any key", nothing changes on the screen other than the original message re-appears after it tries to reboot, but realises it's not the system disk it asked for.
I did have a similar problem starting it about a year ago, when I previously used it, but then after few restarts, it got going again. That time I did a system and disk check and defrag, so all was well when I turned it off.
Wii check the HDD via HDD enclosure next as RandyRobers suggested.
Thanks for the suggests. Will let you know how and if it worked out.

After this I am left with the Toshiba recovery software running with no action and an Active DOS screen but nothing happening...
I'm guessing HD fault, Recovery media received today from Toshiba for this system

NB. If i restart the laptop boots so far and displays BOOTMGR is missing Ctrl Alt Del to restart...
    All help much appreciated,
    Thanks in advance,
    Rick0684

    > NB. If i restart the laptop boots so far and displays BOOTMGR is missing Ctrl Alt Del to restart...
Hmm... for me it looks like the notebook does not boot from the disk (DVD) but it tries to boot from the HDD....
Anyway, did you try to boot from another disks; for example Win XP, Linux Live CD?
Do this and check if this is possible... if yes, format the HDD and try to boot from the recovery disk again!
PS: Did you try an HDD recovery option?
Power up the unit, press F8 and in choose Repair my Computer
After that choose Toshiba HDD recovery option if possible.

  • Satellite A200 - Cannot boot from Recovery disk - code 1

I have Vista business and my laptop is currently running slow and is full of rubbish.
I have in the past used my recovery disc to completely re-install vista and start from a fresh version.
However, i have tried this time and it says that it cannot boot from cd - code 1.
Can someone tell me what this is and how to re-install vista?

Hmm... so its definitely not a ODD issue but there is something wrong with the shipped CDs. From my knowledge this error would appear if the CD would NOT be bootable!
Its strange for me that this notebook has been preinstalled with the Vista business.
Usually the notebooks are preinstalled with Vista Home Premium and usually you have to create the own Recovery disk using the preinstalled tool called Toshiba recovery Disk Creator.
Anyway, if you are not able to boot from these disks then you would need other disks.
You could order it from the ASP in your country or from this page:
    https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
    Cheers
