Satellite L - How to create a recovery disk?

Hey,
I deinstalled the Programm "Recovery Disc Creator" accidentally. But the Folder with the Win Vista Recovery Disc Informations are still in my Computer. Now i want you to help me in creating a Recovery Disc. My System is very unstable. So i want to re install it. I hope you can help me.

Sorry but why did you uninstall the recovery disk creator?
However, now you can’t create the recovery disk because you have uninstalled the program for creating the disk.
The only way I know is you use the HDD recovery option to reinstall your notebook. You can use this if you go to the advanced boot menu (F8 before Windows is booting), choose repair my computer and then select the Toshiba HDD recovery function.
Normally you get this message if you start your notebook at the first time:
+Important INFORMATION+
+your system is equipped with hard disk recovery system. if you need to repair+
+your computer by restoring it to original factory state, you can do it directly+
+from harddisk (press F8 when you boot your computer, choose "Repair your computer"+
+and follow the menue instructions) or create a bootable Recovery Disc Medium for this purpose.+
+Toshiba recommends you to create Recovery Disc Medium using the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator" to ensure+
+hat you are able to restore your computer to the original factory installed state, even if your computer+
+gets seriously damaged+

  • Satellite L550D-13V - How to recover without recovery disks?

    Hi together,
I got a big problem. Win 7 Home Premium 64 BIT crashed on my satellite L550D-13V.
I tried to repair but it doesn't work. So I decided to recover via HDD Utility.
Everything seems to be okay but in the end the tool said that errors occured. I tried to recover again but the process aborted with bluescreen "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" this time.
After reboot system told me that no bootmgr is available. I tried to boot by using recovery disk but it also seems to be faulty because the system cannot not boot from the disks.
And there's my problem. I am unable to boot / recover now. Volume D seems to be okay - the HDD utility files are still available but I cannot create new recovery disks and it is not possible to boot into HDD utility tool.
    Do you have any ideas?
Many thanks in advance and regards
    Danny

    Hi
    The story is strange
Im wondering why you are not able to boot from the Recovery disk?
Did you use the created recovery disk in the past or did you try this disk for the first time?
However, regarding the error message: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
I googled for that and it seems that this could be related to memory fault.
Possibly one of the modules malfunctions.
Of course this is just an personal opinion
If an HDD folder is available on your HDD, then there is a small chance to get the HDD recovery to work. Here a interesting thread:

  • Can I create my recovery disk on 1 of my hd's,

Hello,,I just bought a HP ENVY Phoenix 810qe 245 Desktop Pc with win 8.1 it has 3 hard drives and I want to know if it possible to create my recovery disk on 1 of my hd's,,would there be any problems If I did it this way, if something happens to my main ssd drive I would be able to use harddisk f drive to restore back easy, since there would be other files on the hd f disk would the system find the files needed?,I guess I would just need to change the boot order in bios and then it should find what it needs right??And I love win 8.1 now, took few hours to learn but I think it blows away win 7 and xp by far..makes my ol xp system look dusty...

    Hi,
One of the restrictions with the Recovery Media Creator application is that it will only allow the Recovery files to be written to removable media - USB Flash Drive or DVDs.  It does not support ( and will not recognise ) fixed drives whether internal or external.
An HP document regarding the creation of Recovery Media can be found on the following link.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03481733&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en#N712
    Note:
If you decide to create our Recovery Media on a USB Flash Drive, it must be of a type that Windows 8.1 sees as a 'Removable Disk' - not all do and there's no completely reliable method for telling which will work until they're plugged in.  For example, in the image below, the usb flash drive Dave (G) shows as a 'fixed drive' and will not work, whereas the usb flash drive 'Removable Disk (H)' will work.
Thanks to @erico  the following USB Flash Drives are known to work:
Transcend USB 3.0 16Gb  - this may not be large enough in your case.
    Team Group F108 64G
    PNY Turbo 3.0 - 32GB
    Lexar Jumpdrive M10 Secure 64GB  USB 3.0
    Patriot Rage 3.0  32GB
    Best regards,

  • How do u creat BIOS recovery disk + nvidia firewall question.

    WooooHOoOOO....
after re-formating a dozen times, busted SCSI config, messed up driver install, I FINALLY GOT this board working at 100%!!!
This mobo powered through my entire DOOM 3 Odyssey to Hell NON-STOP without a SINGLE CRASH!! Definitely a good testament to this board's quality.
Now for the final few noob question, how do I create a bios recovery disk just in case things happened.
lastly... how do you properly setup the NV Firewall? After enabling it, none of the other computers in my network can see this computer with the MSI Board, so file and printer sharing all stops when the firewall is enabled.
Anyone here has a walkthrough on the firewall?
ONCE AGAIN...thanks to all who helped me!!!

i havent got my nvidia firewall to work imma wait until they release better drivers for it but for creating the bios recovery disk i think if u use msi's live update it will ask u if u want to create one or not.

  • How to create DVD recovery on different language?

I bought Satellite 655-149 with windows 7 64bit turkish, I would like to install windows XP russian. How to create DVD disk with drivers?

    Hey,
I agree with the user above. The recovery disk that you create, contains the same language as preinstalled OS.
For example if an English version is preinstalled, the recovery disk contains only English language.
If you want another language you have to buy a new version of Windows 7.
Last but not least on Windows 7 Ultimate you can use different language packs:

  • Satellite M70 - Can't install from recovery disk

    Hi,
I had to remove the HDD from Toshiba Satellite M70 to use it on my Compaq laptop (Compaq HDD crashed). I had to install XP and other stuff after creating 2 partions and used it with Compaq Laptop without any problem. Now I got a new HDD for compaq and fixed the Toshiba HDD back in.
Using the recovery CD I wanted to restore the Toshiba to its original state.
I have the Product recovery DVD-rom. F12 abd selecting cd/dvd would not do the recovery.
Error loading operating system is the message I get.
I can even install with my other original XP pro cd.
Once I put the HDD back to Compaq its working fine, I can even install XP.
What is the cause. Is it has to do anything with MBR?
I am very familiar with computers so please give me a way out of this!
    Thank you all,
    Regards,

    Hi
In my opinion the case is clear. If you can install the notebook with a normal Microsoft installation disk and the HDD works properly in another computer its something wrong with the Toshiba recovery disk, maybe its scratched.
What you can do is to install the notebook using the Microsoft disk. Then download and install all drivers from the Toshiba website.
Alternative you order a new recovery disk from an authorized service provider.
Its your choice what you do. ;)

  • How to stop lion recovery disk assistant from downloading?

Since I planned to upgrade the stock disk on my macbook pro I created a USB stick backup of the Lion OS using Lion recovery disk assistant. It built a bootable copy of my Lion OS. I replaced the drive, booted from the USB stick Lion, formatted the new drive with disk utility with one OSX partition, and bunch of Linux partitions for the planned dual/triple/etc. boot.  I then used the recovery disk menu to reinstall OSX on the new disk. It took off and started the download just like while booting with R key or from the recovery partition AGAIN!.  This is a 2 hour proposition and is totally ridiculous. I need to be able to reinstall without downloading Lion every time.   Any ideas on how to stop this new Apple invention from doing this download?

If you read the Disk Recovery Assistant documentation all that it does is put a copy of the Recovery HD onto the flash drive. There is no OS on it to reinstall, hence the reason for the Internet download.
If you wish to have a true bootable installer flash drive for your system, then here's what is involved. Start by going to this link: Downloading Hardware Specific Lion Installers. Follow the instructions very, very carefully because this can be a bit tricky.
Once you have the installer application:
    Make Your Own Lion Installer
    1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
    2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
    4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
    Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that  you can use without having to re-download Lion.

  • How to create Qosmioplayer recovery CD on Qosmio G35

I just bought a "factory re-certified" G35. I know that is an american model, but the american support site doesn have a forum this good.
Apparently on the Qosmio G35-AV600 model, it is not possible to create a Qosmio Player Recovery CD once the Qosmio Recovery DVD has been used to restore the software 'image' onto the computer's hard disk drive. If I try to create a Qosmio Player Recovery CD, the computer will eject the blank CD, and the following error message will be displayed:
"File has been deleted or co... "
This is because the utility program that creates the Qosmio Player Recovery CD is not reinstalled by the Qosmio Recovery DVD, even though all of the other software is successfully re-installed.
The laptop did not come with a qosmioplayer recovery CD. I downloaded the "Qosmio Player Utility for Windows XP" from the following site:
    http://askiris.toshiba.com/
All it seemed to do was run installshield (in xp) and unzip a few files to the 'c' drive, but that still has no affect. Apart from asking Toshiba to send me the recovery disc, is there anything that I can do?

    Hallo Saurabh
The US Toshiba notebooks are not known to me and I also dont know how they are delivered but I can give you some info about European Qosmio models.
Every Qosmio notebook (G30 as well) is delivered with recovery medias (Qosmioplayer Recovery Media and Recovery DVD for OS installation). Because of that it is not possible to create any recovery media. Qosmioplayer is not part of operating system and not installed on Windows partition.
Qosmioplayer is Linux based player and preinstalled on non-partitioned part of HDD. As far as I know Qosmioplayer utility is created to import recorded movies into Windows OS to allow watching, editing and also saving on CD or DVD.
The fact is that you can not create Qosmioplayer recovery media on your own. I am pretty sure that US units are designed and preinstalled on same or similar principle.

  • A10 Hard disk failure and replacement - How do I use Recovery Disks?

I have a Satellite Pro A10 which has suffered a hard disk failure. I have replaced the hard disk drive (with a non-toshiba drive) but cannot load the operating sysytem etc from the recovery disks supplied with the computer when new. When starting the computer up with recovery disk No 1 in the CD drive I get the message "Invalid system disk, Replace the disk and then press any key" Any suggestions as to the remedy would be most welcome.

    Hello Tony
Please check at first if your new HDD is properly recognized by BIOS. It yes you should prepare the HDD for installation. I recommend you to use some tool and make a partition on new HDD. If you want you can format it before you start the installations procedure.
I am pretty sure that after that the recovery installation can be done successfully.

  • Can't install because it can't create a recovery disk?

I've been trying to install mountain lion but it keeps saying that it can't be installed because it can't create a recovery partition. I tried to reinstall lion from the recovery disk but it keeps giving me errors and says try reinstalling, but doesn't give the option to download a fresh copy of lion and apple has pulled the lion installer from the mac app store. What do I do?

See "what to do if the installer warns that no Recovery System can be created" in About OS X Recovery.

  • Can I Create The Recovery Disk(s) From The Recovery Partition? Can I Copy The Partition?

I searched the forums to find an answer to this question, but was unable to find one. It seems to me that it might be useful info for others trying to create Recovery CD/DVDs from a failed hard drive that still has an accessible Recovery Partition so hopefully we can figure out a solution. :-)
I have a Pavilion dv9408ca (Vista Home) with a hard drive that won't boot. I removed the hard drive and was able to read it on another system. I was also able to to create a Virtual Machine and run it so I recovered all the important data. I installed it in an external drive case and tried to boot from it but I wasn't able to access the Recovery Partition (F11 option didn't show and didn't work), and Windows wouldn't load.
It's possible that the controller is the problem so I don't want to buy another hard drive yet. I would like to format the original hard drive and create a 'factory' system but I don't have Recovery CD/DVDs. I cannot create the Recovery CD/DVDs using the Virutal Machine (I presume it's because it's not running on an HP).
The dv9408ca can boot form the DVD drive (ran UBCD, etc. and they booted fine).
Can I copy the Recovery Partition and make a bootable set of CD/DVDs by using some other program or copying the files/folders? I have CD/DVD burning software (Nero) that can create bootable CD/DVDs. Or can I use the Virtual Machine to run a program that will do this without using the HP Recovery Manager software in Windows?
Or... Can I create a set of Recovery CDs from another Pavilion Notebook (different model but same Vista OS) and use those to format/recover the dv9408ca system?
Thank you for your help with this problem.

This is only option which might work for you provided the product number of other laptop matches with your existing system Else you can order a set of recovery disk for your Notebook(dv9408ca) from here for a nominal charge.
