Satellite L - Limited acccess to WLAN router

Hi,
My laptop has all of a sudden stopped accessing internet although the wireless is live. It connects with limited access, so annoying. I have called technical for broadband provider and nothing can be done. It is the laptop. When connected says limited access and no internet available. I have turned off firewall to see if this was the problem but still nothing.
So its definitely laptop - I have tried reinstalling the realtech wlan drivers to. I am having to use ethernet cable to connect at moment.
please please help.

Cannot connect my Satellite A200-1MB to new WLAN router

Hi All,
Recently i bought the LinkSys Router (Model no: WRT120N) and configured it. But it is not connecting to my TOSHIBA laptop (model no: Satellite A200-1MB) with this new router.
It is a wireless connection. I don't think its something to do with the router because the other laptops can access the signal and they can able to connect to that router.
Can anyone please help me out in fixing this?

sure all users in this forum are willing to help...
make sure that:
- the same encryption method is used
- the same access key
- the same channel is used
- the ssid is visible
if you cant make a connection turn of *all* encryption and test it
sometimes a update of the ap firmware makes it running...

Limited connection on WLAN - Equium A200

I bought the Equium A200, which has Vista Home Premium preinstalled, today. I fired it up, went through the installation procedure and tried to connect to my WLAN, with no success. It can connect to the router, but it does not receive an IP so there is no internet access on it.
One other and older notebook right besides it which has XP connects just fine to the WLAN. Should I just install XP instead, and if so is there drivers for everything? I'd rather not though, since I am pretty happy with Vista.

I dont see any reasons why you should be not able to install the XP on this notebook.
The some XP drivers for this A200 Equium are released on the Toshiba page. If some other drivers would be not available in your A200 series download area, then you could try to install some XP drivers from other A200 series (Equium or Satellite)
But the XP installation is not necessary if you want to use Vista. Using Vista you should be able to connect to the WLan router too!
In first case I would recommend updating the Wlan driver.
Then try to configure the Wlan again. Be sure that you use the right encryption key and that other security settings like Mac address filtering are configured properly!

Equium L10-300: Cannot see my Wlan router!

I have a Toshiba Equium L10 300 laptop with an internal Infocomm IPN 2220 wireless network card.
The laptop is running Windows XP Home SP2 and ConfigFree. I have updated the wireless drivers to the latest version.
I am trying to connect the laptop to a Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless G Router (Model: FSD7632-A)
The wireless button is turned on.
When I refresh the wireless LANs in either windows or configFree, I can see every wireless LAN SSID on my street (which are also 54G) apart from mine. I have a other laptop which quite happily connects to the Belkin. The L10 stubbornly refuses to acknowledge its existence.
Does anyone have any idea why this is?
Any help woud be much appreciated.

The WLan card seems to works because the other WLans are visible.
In my knowledge the integrated Ambit minPCI WLan card support 802.11b/g wireless technology.
I would recommend switching the mode to G only. This can be done in device manager -> WLan card properties -> advanced tab
Please also check if the Wlan card uses the same channel like Wlan router.

Wlan router restarts when streaming music to Airport express

Hi guys,
Yesterday I received my brand new Airport express which I plan to use for streaming music from iTunes to my Stereo. Unpacking and installing the lovely looking AE was like x-mas eve and birthday all in one .
After the installation where I set up the AE to join my wireless network. My wlan is a WEP 64 bit encrypted one, I had some problems adding it to the network with the wizard of the AE tool, but this worked just fine after using the manual set-up procedure instead where I chose WEP 40 bit in the AE tool. I also upgraded AE firmware as a part of this process.
So, the AE pops up nicely in iTunes, and I started streaming music to them, and it worked perfectly... for 10 seconds. Then the music stopped, the play-bar in iTunes stopped, and I also noticed that my laptop (Acer laptop running Windows Vista) lost the internet connection.
After some investigations where I switched off volume adjustment on remote speakers in iTunes and reseting and re-installing the AE, I noticed that the reasons for the problems seems to my wlan router re-booted whenever I started streaming music to the AE. My wlan router is a Zyxel Prestige 660, and it has worked flawlessly for the last two years. The AE is connected to the network, it gets an IP address, and it shows up just fine in the IP list on the router, that is before it restarts... And once the router re-starts the logs are gone, so it's not possible to see what's happening in that end.
Has anyone ever experienced the same? What can the root cause be? Changing the wlan encryption is unfortunately not an option since the router is pre-programmed from my ISP. I'm considering changing my modem, but I'm reluctant to spending 150 bucks on a new modem if this may not resolve the issue.
Any comments or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Part 2: The mystic restart of the router was solved through changing to a Thompson Speedtouch 780 (luckily my ISP sent me a new wlan router and I didn't even have to pay).
However, the problem with the music breaking up when streaming from iTunes to the AE remains; The stream is broken after just a few seconds, and it also seems to mess up other internet traffic on my laptop . I've tried with the AE in a number of different locations, even 1 meter away from my laptop - nothing works.
As it is now, the AE is useless. What a disappointment .

There are so many WLan routers on the market and I think you should read some test articles about the router hardware. Maybe then you will bring more light into this case.

E65 can't get through my wlan router

My Nokia E65 can't get through my wlan router. Can anybody help?
When using wireless at home I can browse the wifi-router homepage (192.168.0.1), but the Internet application won't load internet pages.
I've tried different security settings, even totally open. Always the same at my TrendNet TEW611 BRP using default settings. At other routers internet is ok.
What's strange is that the SIP phone application gets through, so I can make phonecalls but no internet. Can anyone explain this?

try to connect using WiFi connection manager like HandyWi, www.handywi.com, if that still doesn't work when it's probably something wrong with the settings on your router. Can also be that the page your are trying to load is too large for the mobile browser to process.

Did you mean the WLan encryption which secures the entry to the wireless LAN?
I suppose you have set the encryption (WPA, WEP, etc...) on your WLan router but didnt configure the WLan card.
Well, in my opinion you should check which WLan encryption does the card support and then choose it on the WLan router. The encryption key should be set on the router and on the notebook!

Connect Airport Express to PC and WLAN Router

Hi,
I have a PC running with WinXP that is connected to a Siemens Gigaset 551 WLAN router and I try to use airtunes with that combination.
The problem is that I cannot connect to the airport express station. I cannot see it as a wireless network and also cannot get access by the airport configuration tool.
Wen I use my Win XP laptop with a build in LAN card there is no problem.
Does somebody know where to find setup guide?

To set up AirTunes on the AirPort Express Base Station (AX), using the AirPort Admin Utility, connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, try these settings:
AirPort tab
- Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
- Wireless Mode: Join an Existing Wireless Network (Wireless Client)
- Wireless Network: <select the existing wireless network>
Music tab
- Enable AirTunes on this base station (checked)
- Enable AirTunes over the Ethernet port (optional)
- iTunes Speaker Name: <whatever you wish>
- iTunes Speaker Password (optional)
In iTunes:
iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
- Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)

WLAN Router problem - No Push Notifications

Hi all!, I have a iPod Touch 2nd Gen and can´t get push notifications via a WRTP54G router. Am I the only one with this issue? Does anybody know wich ports can I un-block from the router to get it to work?. My girlfriend´s WLAN router WRT54G (not WRTP54G) works.

In the iPhone Configuration Utility I have just found this log entry when I switch on push notifications on the iPod:

NAT is on in my router. I manually opened the port 5353 but with no success.

Satellite A200-244 (psae6e): Will WLan work in Australia

I dont see any serious reasons why the WLan shouldnt work in Australian.
But before you will contact the notebook wirelessly to the WLan router you should check if the WLan card uses the same WLan channel, same WLan standard 802.11 (A, B or G) and the same WLan encryption!

Can Linksys WLAN Router corrupt ATT DSL password?

I'm working for a non-profit agency that's using a Linksys WRT54G (not sure of the firmware version or revision). In the past three weeks they've dropped connection with ATT causing outages at the office. The solution has been to reset the DSL password each time. ATT claims there is nothing on their end that's corrupting the password and that the Linksys WLAN router may be to blame. My question: Can this even be possible? Can the router be corrupting the password somehow forcing ATT to reset it? Needless to say it's annoying at best - and difficult at worst to talk the client through changing the password in the router, for the ATT email authentication, and reconnecting all the workstations that use the wireless router (they've got Faronic's DeepFreeze on them). Any suggestions or guidance on why this may be happening would be appreciated!

If you mean restoring OS X, that won't necessarily have any effect on speed.
Not enough free space on the startup disk can slow your Mac down.
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.

Satellite T110-11U - Can't find the WLAN router

Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite T110-11U. Have had it since Feb and loved it - happily used it wireless throughout the house. Then one day about a month ago unless I was in the same room as the wireless router, wireless doesn't work. I have 2 other laptops (and an iPhone) that still connect wirelessly throughout the house and the garden without problem.
As you can imagine, this was very strange. When I take it out in to the garden, my other laptops find all the wireless networks in the area, but my Toshiba finds none.
Suspecting it was a driver issue, I made sure the wireless drivers were up to date. With no joy there, I recovered the system to as it was when purchased (doing a full restore by interupting the booting up and letting the hard disk be wiped and reinstalled etc). Still the same problem. I've even changed the rooms the router is in, and the same problem - the Toshiba can't find the router unless the router is within a couple of metres of the laptop.
Before I lose the will to live, can someone suggest the cause of my problems, or is it time I admitted defeat and took it back to comet under warranty (where the will probably test it next to a wireless router and tell me all is fine!).

Does this mean that the T110 can find the wlan but only if its placed near the router?
Just other hint;
Go to BIOS and set it to default! Ensure hat Wlan is enabled and dont forget to save the changes.
You should also go to control panel -> device manager -> Wlan card properties -> Advanced tab.
Should check the Wlan settings like the Wlan encryption, Wlan channel, etc
Be sure you have enabled the WLan card on your notebook as well!

What WLan Router would be compatible with Satellite Pro A300D-13E

I am really new to laptops and I hope this is not too basic a question but I am looking for a Router for my A300D-13E. I see lots of posts on Broadband forums regarding problems with so many different routers I just thought some knowledgeable forum member might point me in the right direction please.

I dont think that a Satellite A300D would not support some WLan broadband routers.
The point is that the notebook uses the newest generation of internal WLan cards which should be compatible with most WLan routers.
Sometimes the WLan driver must be updated to get the full functionality but to be honest I never had any WLan issues
Of course, if the WLan card does not support for example the 802.11 G standard then you will be not able to able to connect to such wireless lan
